Tommy Dreamer: Rhea Ripley And Bianca Belair Will “Steal The Show” At NXT TakOver: Portland

Former WWE Superstar Tommy Dreamer has shared which match he feels will steal the show at NXT TakeOver: Portland. Speaking with Bully Ray on SiriusXM’s Busted Open Radio, Dreamer highlighted the in-ring talent of Bianca Belair and the current NXT Women’s Champion, Rhea Ripley. Describing the women as true stars, he is confident the two will deliver something memorable this Sunday.

“For me, it’s been since Survivor Series, this woman continues to step up,” Dreamer said of Belair. “I’m enjoying them. They have been the MVPs of NXT each and every week, and I want to say that they are the top guys in NXT, and that is nothing but a compliment. She has the ‘it’ factor. She can work, she can talk, she’s officially my favorite bumper […] she just has this crispness, this ‘it’ factor about her.”

He continued, “She has a presence. I want to to be her manager so I can get a braid to cover my bald spot. I think she’s amazing, and Ripley is off the charts, putting the rocket on her for any brand, she’s a star. They’re both stars. And when you have that star power, it does nothing but help you, and at TakeOver: Portland they’re going to steal the show.”

Rhea Ripley defends her NXT Women’s Championship against Bianca Belair this Sunday at NXT TakeOver: Portland. The show takes place at the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon.

Impact Wrestling Results & 8 Takeaways (2/4/20)

Impact Wrestling presented another show from Frontenac, Mexico this week. The promotion is building to the Impact Plus exclusive event “Impact Sacrifice” on February 22nd. Impact will also be in Las Vegas for a set of TV tapings this weekend.

Impact Wrestling 2/4/20 Quick Results:

  1. Tessa Blanchard defeated Adam Thornstowe (Reno Scum)
  2. Rhino defeated Taurus
  3. Rosemary vs Suzie – Double Countout
  4. TJP defeated Vikingo
  5. Daga & Dr. Wagner Jr. defeated Dave & Jake Crist
  6. Street Fight: Ace Austin defeated Tommy Dreamer

Here are 8 takeaways from Impact Wrestling 2/4/20:

Tessa Blanchard Prepares To Face Ace Austin

As Blanchard prepares to take on Ace Austin on February 22nd, 2020, she faced his run-in buddy from Reno Scum this week. Blanchard defeated Thornstowe with a Buzzsaw DDT but was attacked after by Luster the Legend and Ace Austin. This brought out Tommy Dreamer for the save and set-up the night’s main event between Austin and Dreamer in a street fight.

Ace Austin Goes To The Extreme To Defeat Tommy Dreamer

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZIVmcqbqxqw

Ace Austin has the biggest match of his young career later this month when he faces Tessa Blanchard at Impact Sacrifice on February 22nd. The X-Division champion would main event this week’s show against Tommy Dreamer in a street fight.

Austin would pick up the victory by using his wand-like weapon to knock Dreamer off the ropes and onto a ladder. He then hit “the Fold” for the win. Austin would celebrate with his title belt as the show came to a close.

TJP Defeats Vikingo Before The North Attack

Last week, Vikingo faced Josh Alexander in single’s competition. This week, he’d take on TJP in another fast-paced action-packed match. With his friend Fallah Bah by his side, however, TJP was able to do what Josh Alexander could not and defeat the luchador from AAA. TJP countered a headscissors attempt into a submission for the win.

After the match, however, Josh Alexander and Ethan Page (the North) attacked Vikingo. Fallah Bah came in and broke up the attack, however. Perhaps a match between the North and TJP & Fallah Bah is upcoming in Impact Wrestling.

Rob Van Dam and Katie Forbes Attack Joey Ryan

2 weeks ago on Impact Wrestling, Rob Van Dam said that Joey Ryan’s match against Maximo made him embarrassed to be a pro-wrestler. Ryan responded last week by saying that RVD is just mad because Katie Forbes wants to “touch it.”

This week on Impact, Katie Forbes provided the distraction as RVD attacked Ryan from behind. After being accused of having lost his cool, RVD would then say that next week Ryan will find out just how cool RVD really is.

Rosemary Brings Su Yung Back To Life

Rosemary and Suzie met in single’s competition this week but Rosemary wasn’t concerned with winning or losing the match. Her goal was to trigger Suzie’s memory and bring out the former Su Yung.

The match spilled to the back where Rosemary attempted to wrap a noose around Suzie and throw her over a staircase just as Havok had done to her previously. As she did so, however, Suzie morphed back into Su Yung as she remembered Havok having done the same to her oh so long ago now.

James Mitchell walked across the scene awhile later and told Rosemary that they are all doomed.

Dr. Wagner Jr. & Daga Get Revenge On OVE

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nspNJgM87h0

Recently on Impact Wrestling, the members of OVE attacked Dr. Wagner Jr and beat him up in front of his son. Don Callis described the members of OVE as anarchists this week and that their attacks on Wagner were unprovoked and completely random.

This week, Dr. Wagner Jr and Daga teamed up in victorious fashion over the Crist brothers. After the match, however, Madman Fulton attacked Daga and Wagner and also fended off Dr. Wagner Jr’s son as well. Fulton stood tall to end the segment.

Moose Breaks Up Match Between Rhino and Taurus

Over the last few weeks, we’ve seen Rhino and Moose’s rivalry involve AAA’s Taurus. This week on Impact Wrestling, Rhino and Taurus faced each other in single’s competition. As Rhino was preparing to give his opponent the Gore, however, Moose invaded the ring and caused the match to be thrown out. Rhino would give Moose a Gore and him and Taurus stood tall to end the segment.

Next Week And Impact Sacrifice

The following matches are scheduled for next week’s episode:

  • Knockouts Championship
Taya Valkyrie (c) vs Jordynne Grace
  • Joey Ryan vs Rob Van Dam
  • Best of 5-Series
Michael Elgin vs Eddie Edwards (Elgin leads 1-0)
  • Madman Fulton vs Daga

Here are the lineups for Impact Wrestling Sacrifice on Impact Plus February 22nd:

  • Impact World Championship
Tessa Blanchard (c) vs Ace Austin
  • Rhino vs Moose
  • Daga vs Jake Crist

Tommy Dreamer – “I Knew Edge Was Returning To WWE”

Co-host of Busted Open Radio Tommy Dreamer recently commented on the return of WWE Superstar Edge. The ‘Rated R Superstar’ made an incredible and unlikely comeback during the 30-man Rumble match to a huge reaction.

“You know Edge…listen, I’m friends with the guy I don’t think Edge is returning”

Edge and Dreamer are longtime friends, and Dreamer recently claimed that he didn’t believe that Edge would be returning to wrestling at all. “You know Edge…listen, I’m friends with the guy I don’t think Edge is returning” Dreamer said back in January. “He [Edge] is feeling good, he’s doing a lot of outside projects. If Edge did come back it would be an amazing amazing thing. It’s just I don’t know if he’d want to risk his health and overall well being.”

“I’m super duper close with Edge”

Dreamer has now confirmed that he DID in fact know that Edge would be returning to WWE. The ECW legend did explain himself during the Busted Open broadcast, saying “I will confess to a lot of fans. I’m super duper close with Edge. He had confided in me a long time ago that he was going back to WWE.”

Dreamer elaborated further, saying that “we kind of laid some foundation, kind of fantasy booking with each other. There’s a friendship. I love the guy and I would never betray that friendship, for whatever rumours, speculation, anything that comes out there. And also, I always open up Christmas presents on Christmas not on Christmas eve. And for when there was speculation going around, or all the social media buzz about it…why? I know we like to guess about it. Even spoilers, I cannot stand them. So, I’m never going to ruin [the outcome]. I wish Edge never told me, because I wanted to see [it first hand]. I wasn’t sure he was going to debut at the Rumble, but that was what was on the table.”

Edge

“I don’t feel it’s deceiving the fans”

Dreamer finished by discussing how he feels hiding information like this is not ‘deceiving’ the fans, due to the good intention. “I don’t feel it’s deceiving the fans because the end result is ‘wow I got to see something special.'” It is true that we got one hell of a moment when Edge returned last Sunday.

Tommy Dreamer: “I Do Not Feel Tessa Blanchard Is Racist”

Wrestling legend Tommy Dreamer made some rather interesting comments about the Tessa Blanchard situation on a recent episode of Busted Open Radio on Sirius XM.

Over the weekend, Blanchard was accused of racism and bullying by several former co-workers, including NXT star Chelsea Green and NWA Women’s Champion Allysin Kay. Despite the controversy, Blanchard made history Sunday night at Hard To Kill when she became the first woman to win the IMPACT World Championship.

Dreamer works for Impact as a backstage producer and says he does not believe Tessa Blanchard is racist. He also does not believe everything that was being said about her on social media.

“I see ‘Tessa Blanchard’ was trending and I’m like ‘Oh look, P. R.'”

Dreamer began, “I land and the world was caving in on Impact Wrestling for half a second. I look and I see Tessa was trending and I’m like ‘Oh look, P. R.’ You know that’s pretty good stuff that’s going on right now. Then I click and I’m like oof that’s not good,” Dreamer began. “I just sit back and I take all this information. I also like to get to two sides to every story. Some of what I was reading I was like ‘yeah no that’s not true.”

He continued, “But you know, you you take everything for what you read until you finally talk to the person. I’ve said this so many times before, social media is a blessing and a curse. But, it’s a very very crappy situation that happened but when you’re around people that love you, when you’re around people that support you, only around people where you have the ability to tell them the truth, you know what the other side of the story is. Hey, you know that’s a good thing.”

“It becomes almost like gang warfare where everyone jumps on the hot topic”

Dreamer elaborated further, saying “I text Tessa, she didn’t get back to me. I went and spoke to her finally at the show and obviously she she was not in a good place mentally; because it becomes almost like gang warfare where everyone jumps on the hot topic.”

Dreamer also wanted to make it clear that he has a good relationship with both Tessa and some of the other performers who have made accusations against her.

“I would state that I have a great relationship with her, I also have a great relationship with a lot of the other women that were talking about her. I was not there, I do know that there was a very very physical confrontation between her and this other wrestler and that led to I mean a physical brawl. Sometimes in the heat of battle you say things that you regret. I know that Tessa used to date a famous wrestler who’s in WWE that is African American. I know Tessa is currently engaged to Daga who is Mexican, I do not feel that Tessa Blanchard is racist.”

With Blanchard now IMPACT World Champion it will be interesting to see how the company handles the situation going forward. Tessa Blanchard becoming the first ever Women’s World Champion in the company was a storyline built over the past 8+ months, seemingly becoming derailed (from a PR standpoint) over the weekend.

Tommy Dreamer – “I don’t think Edge is returning” To WWE

ECW Legend and co-host of Busted Open Radio Tommy Dreamer made some comments recently regarding WWE Hall of Famer Edge. There has been speculation that the ‘Rated-R Superstar’ might be returning to WWE at some point at 2020. During the most recent episode of Busted Open, Dreamer talked about his friend Edge and how he doesn’t believe that he is returning. Tommy Dreamer specifically talked about what would happen if Edge returned in the Royal Rumble match in the number 30 spot.

“I think the people would explode” Tommy Dreamer began, when discussing the reaction a returning Edge might get. Tommy’s co-host Dave LeGreca posed the idea of Edge not only returning but being the one to eliminate Brock Lesnar (who is entering Number 1) and win the bout. “Then you’d have all your naysayers saying Edge JUST did that, now he’s going to the main event [of WrestleMania].” Dreamer replied. “You know Edge…listen, I’m friends with the guy I don’t think Edge is returning. He is feeling good, he’s doing a lot of outside projects. If Edge did come back it would be an amazing amazing thing. It’s just I don’t know if he’d want to risk his health and overall well being. “

“now he’s in the main event right away” – Tommy Dreamer

Dreamer finished by saying “again the naysayers would claim ‘he came in at thirty. [he] Eliminated Brock, now he’s in the main event right away. It’s the ‘Yay’ and I’m saying five seconds later everyone [would be] hating it. This is supposed to be your babyface going for the title.”

Edge denies the reports

Edge himself recently refuted the reports that he was close to a WWE return. The former WWE Champion has appeared to be making moves that could point to an in-ring return at some point. Edge was spotted in Pittsburgh back in October, where the head of WWE’s medical department Dr. Joseph Maroon is headquartered. Although back in December Edge did take to Twitter to write “Still not and still not. Period.” The tweet alone did not make a lot of sense at the time. Pairing it with the renewed talk of his in-ring return and speculation over a possible Royal Rumble appearance makes it fairly clear that he is denying the reports about his status.

Bully Ray Addresses WWE Superstars Wanting To Leave, Jon Moxley

Jon Moxley successfully debuted for All Elite Wrestling (AEW) during their Double Or Nothing event last Saturday. Appearing during the final moments of the show, he was greeted with a hero’s welcome by the fans in attendance.

Since then, Moxley has appeared on Talk Is Jericho to discuss his reasoning behind leaving WWE. His thoughts on the matter have clearly struck a chord with a lot of his peers.

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, former WWE Superstars Bully Ray and Tommy Dreamer discussed Moxley’s comments, admitting that they fully aligned with his feelings and creative frustrations, before reflecting on the current feeling amongst the WWE locker room.

“When you know your time is up, you just have to stare down the barrel of that gun and wait out your deal, which is exactly what he [Dean Ambrose] did,” Bully Ray said. “There’s no other way out. A couple of other people got their release and were able to wiggle on out. Nobody’s getting their release anymore. You’re going to have to wait out your contract, and he did it professionally, and he did it the right way.”

Dreamed added that he understands that frustration “because once you reach a certain amount of goals, then what? […] For guys like, even myself, it’s that creativeness, as well as to be able to have a say. I work for a lot of companies, I’m not under contract for any of them, because I don’t want to be married that way to anybody.”

During a time where more WWE Superstars than ever before are openly discussing their unhappiness within the company, Moxley’s reception must have been validating for those who decided to leave—and all the more sobering for those that were not allowed to.

Tommy Dreamer Teases Signing With Major Organization, Mickie James Wants ‘Monday Night Milf’ Merch

Tommy Dreamer Teases Signing With Major Organization

It looks like ECW Original Tommy Dreamer has some big news coming soon. Dreamer took to Twitter recently and teased that he will be signing with a major organization next week. Here’s what Dreamer had to say:

Dreamer could be referring to All Elite Wrestling (AEW), who has been making a ton of signings ahead of its ‘Double Or Nothing’ pay-per-view (PPV) event in May from Las Vegas. AEW recently signed both Darby Allin and CIMA to exclusive deals. Perhaps Dreamer could soon become All Elite as well.

Mickie James Wants ‘Monday Night Milf’ Merch

Later on today, WWE will be holding its Superstar Shake-Up on Monday Night RAW. WWE star Mickie James has an interesting idea for merchandise should she remain on the red brand. James shared her idea for a “Monday Night Milf” t-shirt:

“So if I stay on @wwe Monday Night Raw… I mean.. can we get Monday Night Milf over or naw?! Maybe a t-shirt?! Definitely a koozie. Asking for a friend”

James hasn’t been seen since teaming with Alicia Fox while pursuing the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. She was most recently seen at WrestleMania 36 while participating in the WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal, which was eventually won by Carmella.

Tommy Dreamer On Possibly Working For AEW

All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has the interest of everyone in the professional wrestling business at the moment. The new promotion is being funded by Jacksonville Jaguars co-owner Tony Khan. Khan will serve as the President of AEW. Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks are the Executive Vice Presidents of the company. Big names such as Chris Jericho, PAC, Adam “Hangman” Page, and more have already joined the roster.

Several notable names have already expressed interest in becoming involved with AEW. It looks like ECW original and former WWE star Tommy Dreamer is one of them. Dreamer has ties with Cody, as he was part of his NWA World Title match at “All In” last year. In a recent interview on “Busted Open Radio,” Dreamer admits he has already spoken to Cody and The Young Bucks about doing work in AEW:

“I have spoken with Matt and Cody about doing stuff there. I said whenever you guys need me I’m happy to help,” Dreamer said. “Nick and Matt helped House of Hardcore in the early stages, I always saw them as main eventers. If there are any two individuals that, If I had sons, I’d want them to be like them.

“They are two great human beings. Cody, I’ve known him since he’s a little kid, his father was my hero, my friend. I will do anything for those guys because I love them. They want me there, I’m there, if there’s not a spot for me, I get it.”

Perhaps Dreamer will be a part of AEW’s first event later this year. “Double Or Nothing” will go down from the MGM Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on May 25th. No matches have been announced for the card, as AEW is still just getting off the ground after officially announcing itself at a rally last week.

What do you think about Dreamer possibly working with AEW?

Tommy Dreamer Voices Support For Crown Jewel Event

Hardcore wrestling legend, Tommy Dreamer, posted his thoughts regarding Crown Jewel to his Facebook page recently. He compared the show to two other wrestling events which took place under a large public spotlight due to major world news events.

Dreamer was part of the WWE roster in 2001 when the company put on the first large public gathering following 9/11. He talked about that experience and also in regards to WCW’s shows in North Korea in 1995.

Tommy Dreamer Facebook Post

“In 1995 WCW went to North Korea
over 150,000 fans attended
All the political turmoil was put aside
People were united for a moment in time through professional wrestling
I was part of the 1st LIVE gathering after 9/11
I was confused, scared, angry
It was Vince McMahon who told everyone it was our choice if we wanted to perform and he said Its our jobs(the wrestlers) to help put smiles on people faces and help people heal.
I cried when Lillian Garcia sang The National Anthem. I felt patriotism for the first time.

The most horrific event on US soil that changed all of our lives and it was wrestling for me (then baseball Mike Piazza HR) that helped me heal. We will never forget but we did smile & begin to heal as a community. A wrestling community.
I know the world was different in 1995 and before 9/11/2001 social media wasnt as strong as it is. Peoples agendas weren’t pushed,
Just giving my opinion of wrestling and the entire WWE Saudi Arabia show
From my personal perspective
We never stopped something in our country when something horrible happened.
All the wrestlers that I know that went said they had a great time and the kids made it worth it.
Putting smiles on peoples faces is our job
Thank you Vince”

The post can be read here.

WCW Trip To North Korea

The 2-night event in April of 1995 was attended by over 150,000 each show. Antonio Inoki faced Ric Flair in the main event. Hawk, the Steiner Brothers, Chris Benoit, Yuji Nagata, and several others performed on the shows.

WWE First Show Since 9/11

WWE filmed an episode of Smackdown just two days after September 11th, 2001. The show was filmed in Houston and it was a decision between the mayor of Houston and Vince McMahon which is said to have determined the show would take place.

Tommy Dreamer Defends Brie Bella Over Liv Morgan Incident, CM Punk-Kofi Kingston

Tommy Dreamer Defends Brie Bella Over Liv Morgan Incident

It’s been well documented that Liv Morgan had a scary moment during a contest that happened on this week’s episode of WWE Monday Night RAW in Denver, CO when she teamed up with Ruby Riott and Sarah Logan to take on Nikki & Brie Bella, and Natalya in a six-woman tag team match that saw Brie appear to knock out Morgan after landing two accidental kicks to the face.

Former ECW/WWE/TNA star Tommy Dreamer has come to the defense of Brie Bella from the criticism of her spot with Morgan as he stated during an appearance on Busted Open Radio that the incident/spot as not “botched” or Bella’s fault.

“For anyone who said it’s a ‘botched spot’ or that Brie was at fault, they are 100% incorrect. No one EVER goes in there with intent to injure their opponent. It was nobody’s fault, it was a mis-timed thing.”

CM Punk Interacts With Kofi Kingston

It was revealed on Tuesday that WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champion Kofi Kingston reached an impressive milestone with the company as he holds the record for the most collective days as a Tag Team Champion. Kingston would later comment on the moment by taking to his official Twitter account and gave some recognition to his former tag team partners including CM Punk. This led to a response by the former WWE Champion.

“What a strange accomplishment, lol. Nonetheless, I’m thankful and grateful for all the teammates I’ve had along this crazy journey. ?? Salute!”

Tommy Dreamer Claims ECW Was Funded By WWE From Day One

Former WWE star Tommy Dreamer claims ECW was being funded by WWE from day one. ECW kicked off back in 1992 as Eastern Championship Wrestling. It brought something completely different to the professional wrestling world upon its debut.

Fronted by Paul Heyman, the industry ultimately met its demise in April of 2001. WWE subsequently swooped in for the purchase.

ECW original, Tommy Dreamer, spoke to WSVN-TV Entertainment reporter Chris Van Vliet at MLW’s War Games recently. He offered his thoughts on ECW and its demise.

From what he has heard, Dreamer believes ECW was being funded by WWE from day one:

“I did not find out that Paul was in bed with them until we did any episode of Byte This together and he said it on the air and if you watch my face you can see it.

“The story changes all the time, Jim Ross who was the head of talent relations at the time says they were in bed together all the time and that Paul Heyman would get checks, but Paul said he didn’t get checks.

“It’s many, many conspiracy theories. Shane McMahon told me Paul was in bed with WWE the entire time. Bruce Prichard said he was in bed with them since day one.”

Dreamer At All In

The 46-year-old, who still competes on the indy circuit regularly today, was then asked about his appearance at All In earlier this month.

Dreamer helped accompany Cody to the ring for his NWA World Title match against Nick Aldis. Dreamer was asked how the opportunity came about:

“Honestly, when I saw NWA’s YouTube show ’10 Pounds of Gold’ and Cody talked about Dusty’s five guys I seriously got all teary eyed. Then when talking with Glacier and DDP they were like we didn’t know that either.

“So now we’re forever connected. A lot of people say in life you can count your friends on one hand or you’re lucky if you can count them on two and for the fact that Dusty Rhodes counted three wrestlers that were part of his five guys, it was an amazing, amazing thing that we all witnessed together.

“Cody is someone I hired into WWE and The Young Bucks I use them all the time on my shows and they were like my main eventers before people thought they were main eventers. They’re my guys.”

What do you make of Dreamer’s comments?

Eddie Edwards On His Character Being A Young Tommy Dreamer

Eddie Edwards will face Tommy Dreamer in a House of Hardcore rules match tonight at Slammiversary tonight. The match will be a culmination of a storyline which began in January of this year.

Sami Callihan cracked Edwards in the orbital bone with a baseball bat during a set of television tapings this January. After a long feud with Sami Callihan, Edwards’ character spiraled. He began to see Tommy Dreamer as his enemy.

Edwards spoke with Interactive Wrestling radio recently about his upcoming pay-per-view match.

“I’m ready to leave it all out there in that ring to take Tommy out,” Edwards said. “I know Tommy, the Innovator of Violence, is ready to do that too. So, let’s go out there and see what we can do and see what we create along the way.”

Eddie Edwards On Being Compared To A Young Tommy Dreamer

As his rivalry with Dreamer has evolved, some fans have compared Eddie to a younger version of his rival.

“Two weeks ago, you got to see the classic ECW Tommy Dreamer promo. He’s bloody, he’s talking crap to me,” Edwards said. “That is what people have wanted to see. That’s the beast, the monster that I’ve created along the way. It is an interesting story we have going on. As you said, mirror images. He’s trying to stop me from what he had become. Why stop me? He’s this Hardcore Legend.”

Edwards would continue to talk about the angle with Dreamer and Callihan which has carried through all of 2018 so far.

“This all stemmed from Sami Callihan and Tommy Dreamer and my wife getting involved,” he continued. “This is emotion. This is something that anybody can feel. Anybody that has been hurt or wronged or thinks they’ve been wronged, this is something they can watch and feel. This is emotion and I think that’s something that we can play with.”

Eddie Edwards vs Tommy Dreamer – Slammiversary – House of Hardcore Match

Edwards also addressed the 47-year-old Dreamer being worried about keeping up with him.

“I think that is a solid concern on his part,” Edwards said. “The same goes for me going into a House of Hardcore match. He was part of the original ECW – The man who created this violence. He is the “Innovator of Violence”. I know that. It is kind of this meshing of styles, putting he and I in a blender and seeing what comes out! (laughs) I’m looking forward to taking what he’s got. Does he still have it? Is he still that Tommy Dreamer that everybody loves? Let’s have a House of Hardcore match on the biggest pay per view of the year in front of a sold out crowd!”

Tommy Dreamer: WWE Offered Me A Lot Of Money To Close House of Hardcore

Tommy Dreamer will face Eddie Edwards this Sunday at Slammiversary. The match will be contested under “House of Hardcore” rules.

Dreamer’s House of Hardcore promotion has collaborated with Impact, Billy Corgan’s NWA, and we’ve even seen Tommy Dreamer in Lucha Underground this year. According to Dreamer, however, WWE once offered him a lot of money to close his promotion. Dreamer commented on the matter during today’s Impact Wrestling media call.

“WWE asked me to sign a contract when I went back with the Wyatts,” Dreamer said referring to his brief 2015 run with the company. “They offered me a lot of money to close House of Hardcore and I refused.”

Dreamer would also say he’s apprehensive about signing contracts with anyone.

“Impact Wrestling, I’ve worked there under a lot of different regimes,” Dreamer continued. “Once politics or BC started getting involved, I just left.”

Tommy Dreamer’s House of Hardcore

Dreamer commented on how his experiences with ECW are what helped shape his policy of not signing contracts.

“Everyone talks about ECW and the greatness of what was ECW and it was,” Dreamer said on the call. “But none of us ever knew that Paul Heyman was in bed with the WWE the entire time. I had to live with those effects for a long, long time.”

“I would not sign a contract with anyone,” Dreamer continued.

Tommy Dreamer vs Eddie Edwards – Slammiversary XVI (House of Hardcore Rules)

The Dreamer versus Edwards rivalry grew out of Edwards’ previous rivalry with Sami Callihan. Throughout the course of the Callihan vs Edwards feud, Dreamer attempted to talk sense into Edwards only to eventually become the subject of his delusions.

Edwards came under the belief that Dreamer was sleeping with his wife and confronted him at a House of Hardcore show in Philadelphia. Dreamer, upset at Edwards’ actions towards him, then challenged him to this match at Slammiversary.

Tommy Dreamer Dishes On Recent Controversy Involving Sami Callihan & Eddie Edwards

Former WWE/TNA/ECW talent Tommy Dreamer recently spoke with TheWrestlingEstate.com, and during the interview, he shared his thoughts on the recent Sami Callihan – Eddie Edwards controversy during an episode of Impact Wrestling on Pop TV.

Dreamer, who runs his House of Hardcore promotion, has worked for Impact Wrestling as an agent as well in the past.

For those who may didn’t see or remember the incident, back on the March 1st episode of Impact Wrestling, Edwards was accidentally struck in the head by a baseball bat during a post-match brawl with the former NXT star.

There was chair was placed near his Edward’s heard and Callihan swung a baseball bat into the chair. The strike caught Edwards in the head, near his eye and nose. He was immediately taken to the hospital where had a CT scan done. This is where he found out that he had broken bones in his face and a broken nose.

Here is what Dreamer had to say:

“It’s a case of two things. One is social media. Everybody sees it and they want to comment and know about it. They want to base their own opinion on it without knowing the facts. It’s the society we live in. There are some people who will chime in that it was an accident or other people chime in it was reckless. Everyone has an opinion.

For me, I would be a hypocrite. At ECW One Night Stand, Bully Ray hit me so hard with a Singapore cane that I went deaf and the doctor said I may lose my ear. In the back, he asked if I was alright, and I said yeah, man, you messed up my ear, but I’ll get my hearing back. Back in the day, if somebody hurt somebody, we’d go to the hospital with them or make sure we’re contacting them.

I don’t think Sami meant to do it. It happened, but when everybody else jumps on it, I think Sami would be a fool not to jump on it. Here’s how the world is. Someone can say something on social media and then they can backtrack. In pro wrestling, guys would say stuff and then they’d be confronted in the locker room, and then, hey, you fight. I do it the same way. If people want to start talking smack about me, cool. You want to do it online? That’s one thing because you’re going to make it public. Then let’s settle it like men or just go fight.

That’s Sami Callihan’s battle to fight. I don’t want to say everybody should mind their own business because they can’t. That’s the world we live in. Everybody likes to quickly put out there about what’s the current topic and then when you find out the facts, you’re like, ooh. That’s why I always lean back when I see stuff like that on social media because everybody wants to hit their opinion without knowing all the facts, and that’s the worst you thing you can do.”

Tommy Dreamer Criticizes Ronda Rousey Move, WWE’s Top 10 Moments From Raw (March 5)

Tommy Dreamer Not A Fan Of Ronda Rousey’s Samoan Drop

Ronda Rousey’s WWE signing has garnered a significant amount of mainstream media attention. The once dominant UFC women’s bantamweight champion is making the transition to pro wrestling. She hasn’t wrestled a match yet, but she has been cutting promos on Monday Night Raw and even at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view.

Last night (March 5) Rousey announced who her WrestleMania opponent will be. She chose Stephanie McMahon. Rousey will team with Kurt Angle to take on Stephanie and Triple H at the “Greatest Spectacle In Sports Entertainment.” The segment ended with Rousey planting Stephanie with a Samoan Drop.

ECW legend Tommy Dreamer took to Twitter to offer Rousey some advice on how to execute the move properly:

WWE’s Top 10 Moments From Raw (March 5)

Speaking of Raw, WWE has released their top ten moments from the latest episode. There was a ton of stuff to stew over this week’s edition of Raw. From Bayley refusing to embrace Sasha Banks, to Finn Balor and Seth Rollins pummeling The Miz. Don’t forget about Asuka continuing her dominance by forcing Nia Jax to tap out. Those and more are highlighted in the top ten Raw moments:

Tommy Dreamer On If He Has Forgiven Paul Heyman

ECW Legend, House Of Hardcore frontman, and former WWE Superstar Tommy Dreamer was recently interviewed on the School of Morton podcast to talk about a number of professional wrestling topics. You can check out the highlights here:

If he has forgiven Paul Heyman and ECW closing up shop:

“I forgave him and I told him this. I forgave him for everything. I lost a lot of money. I lost my parents money and when he did his interview on Monday Night RAW for when he was like the general manager and cut a promo on Vince McMahon and he said… I lied. I did everything I could to keep my company afloat just like you would, Vince and he cut this really, really great promo. When real promos aren’t scripted, they are direct from the heart and have meaning and I remember there sitting there watching it and at first crying and then I was like I get it… and especially I get it owning my own wrestling company now.”

Working directly with Vince McMahon:

“I worked alongside him. I worked in the office next to him which he has veins of coffee because one he never sleeps, he may be a vampire and two his office is always cold so that’s another way he could be a vampire but I’ve got nothing but respect for Vince McMahon, I love him.”

His favorite part of working in the WWE front office and who he signed that did him proud:

“I hired a lot of men and women, that was my favorite part of the job. When I got to hire people and help them pursue their dream. I hired CM Punk, Joey Mercury. I hired a lot of people who did me proud and did themselves proud. You need in this business someone to push for you and I was kind of that guy.”

Tommy Dreamer Reveals If He Thinks Matt Hardy’s ‘Broken’ Gimmick Would Work In WWE

Former ECW and WWE star Tommy Dreamer was recently interviewed by Wrestling Inc. to discuss a variety of professional wrestling topics. During the interview, Dreamer was asked for his thoughts on Matt Hardy’s “Broken” gimmick, and whether or not he believes it could be successful in WWE.

Reports surfaced earlier today indicating that Matt Hardy will finally be able to use a similar version of his alter ego that captivated the professional wrestling world in 2016, without using the “Broken” reference. Here’s what Dreamer had to say on the matter:

“You think about one year ago, Matt Hardy was probably the hottest wrestler out there He was probably the last good thing to watch on TNA, and I’m not saying that as a slight to TNA, but he was unique, he was different, he was a character,” Dreamer said. “How he tweeted, how he did everything was in full ‘Deletion’ mode and I used Matt all the time.

“We had an unwritten contract of, ‘Hey I have shows, you’re booked on them unless someone’s gonna pay you more money.’ Matt was, just like me, killing it all over wrestling every weekend on the indies. But he was the hottest character, and if they give him that freedom and let him be him with that, he’ll become one of the hottest stars they have again.

“When Matt and Jeff came back, it was awesome, I love Matt and Jeff,” Dreamer said. “You can’t look at them how WWE is viewing them as a retro act, and yes they were hot and they’re ladder match was awesome, [but] you can’t [say], ‘Oh they’re here to get the younger guys over.’ They still have a lot of gas left in the tank as performers… I could just see WWE profiting from merchandise and ‘Delete’ signs, you name it. They give him the ball and Matt will deliver it.”

Tommy Dreamer’s House of Hardcore promotion aired a live free event from Saturday on Twitch. While production problems plagued the live broadcast, the event is now up for free on the site.

Before the show went to air, Billy Corgan’s NWA organization sent out notifications through their social media accounts that their champion, Tim Storm, was in Philadelphia at the 2300 Arena. Billy Corgan’s Nation Wrestling Alliance

Dreamer let Billy know his NWA is always welcome in House of Hardcore and also issued a challenge to champion, Tim Storm for the title. Former challenger, Nick Aldis, also had something to say regarding receiving another title shot in the near future.

Billy Corgan’s purchase of the NWA came into effect on October 1st. The company has been busy releasing mini-documentaries on their YouTube channel and marketing Tim Storm.

Storm and the NWA have issued an open challenge to available talents for a shot at the title and the list of potential challengers appears to be growing rapidly.

Tommy Dreamer Talks WWE Allowing The Hardys To Appear At House Of Hardcore

Former ECW and WWE Superstar Tommy Dreamer recently did an interview with The Whig to talk about a variety of professional wrestling topics. Dreamer discussed talents who work for his House Of Hardcore promotion before going on to work for WWE, streaming House Of Hardcore events on Twitch, and WWE allowing The Hardys to return to House Of Hardcore to finish their storyline following their return at WrestleMania 33. Here are the highlights:

Talent from House Of Hardcore going on to WWE:

“I forgot who brought it up, but 39 people so far — and we’re only at 34 shows — have worked for House of Hardcore and then went to WWE. It’s a situation Dreamer said that he is familiar with from his old days in ECW. I’m used to it from the original ECW. Men and women would jump from ECW to WWE and come back. Until I’m able to afford giving someone a weekly pay check, I’m okay with it.”

Streaming House Of Hardcore on Twitch:

“When I had the deal with FloSlam, or when I was doing my own i-pay-per-view, I would have to deal with who was illegally downloading the stuff and all of that. Now, this is how I feel we’re watching television. I no longer have cable. I have a smart TV, streaming devices, you download the apps, this you don’t even have to download the app, they’re partners with Amazon, so if you have Amazon Prime, you get it and you can watch it on your television, you can watch it on your computer, you can watch it on your phone … it’s available to everyone, all you have to do is subscribe to the channel and you get to watch it.”

The Hardys appearing at House Of Hardcore after WrestleMania 33:

“WWE allowed Matt and Jeff to fulfill their obligations to me, while they were the tag team champions. Yes, there were some hiccups along the way, but I understand WWE’s way. Triple H made that happen. I cannot thank Triple H enough for letting that happen. They could have been jerks and said no, they’re under contract.”

House Of Hardcore Signs Deal With Twitch, Weekly Content, WM Weekend Show Announced

Tommy Dreamer’s House of Hard is making moves.

Over the weekend at New York Comic Con, Dreamer announced that HoH has signed an exclusive contract with streaming service Twitch. The Twitch HoH channel is now live and Dreamer says they will be producing new material on a weekly basis. The shows will drop on either Monday or Tuesday.

The first show to broadcast live on Twitch will be the November 18th HoH 35 show from Philadelphia.

Dreamer wrote, “This means I can now start having storylines and more talents have the ability to be seen & spotlighted. This also means in 2018 more shows and yes FINALLY House of Hardcore Championships.”

The deal with Twitch will allow the promotion to run more shows and he is finally pulling the trigger on holding a House of Hardcore show during WrestleMania weekend next year from New Orleans.

As for what this means to the talent working for HoH, “All wrestlers will be under contact to appear at numerous shows so storylines can continue. Once they are done they are free to go wherever they want or just hang out w/me and enjoy.”

Tommy Dreamer Speaks On His Beef With James Ellsworth, Drinking Undertaker’s Tobacco Spit

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I85h-knk7ik

During a recent appearance on Under The Mat Radio, former WWE and ECW star Tommy Dreamer took the opportunity to air out an issue he has with current SmackDown Live star James Ellsworth. Dreamer revealed that Ellsworth was booked for one of his House Of Hardcore events, and the deal fell through.

“Myself and now a mystery partner will be facing [The Spirit Squad] coming up at House of Hardcore 23, because WWE pulled James Ellsworth and I’m not happy about that,” Dreamer said. “James Ellsworth screwed over Dean Ambrose, that was storyline, but he screwed me over for real and I’m pissed off about it.”

Dreamer also talked about one of the strangest moments in his career — when he drank The Undertaker’s tobacco spit live on Monday Night RAW. He says it was rough to get through, but thinks anyone else in his position would have done the same.

“Yeah it was gross, it was real, I got $7,000 to do it and I got to wrestle the Undertaker three to four times,” Dreamer explained. “So I think anyone might do the same. Yeah that was rough, and it was live.”

You can listen to the entire interview, where he also reveals the craziest things fans have done for him, at this link.
