Torrie Wilson Recalls Turning Down X-Rated WWE Angle

WWE Hall of Famer Torrie Wilson has said she turned down an x-rated segment during her time with the company which made her feel uncomfortable.

Wilson joined the WWE in 2001 following the demise of WCW and would pose for Playboy twice, once on her own and a second time with Sable.

In 2019, Wilson returned to WWE to be inducted into the Hall of Fame by her real-life friend and fellow WWE Superstar Stacey Kiebler.

Saying No

Wilson’s beauty was the focal point for much of her wrestling career, but one idea proved to be too much for the Hall of Famer.

Speaking with the Generation Iron Fitness & Bodybuilding Network, Torrie recalled turning down the idea to be fully nude on TV, but for her privates to be covered in paint.

“They wanted me, like what Sable did, paint my boobs and walk out there naked, and I said no. There are certain things that I turned down that I could’ve gotten ahead with. But it just didn’t feel right.”

Torrie Wilson.

A similar spot was done by Sable in 1998, when the future Mrs. Lesnar appeared on Raw with her privates covered in handprints.

Torrie Today

Wilson’s days in the ring as a full-time Superstar may be over, but she hasn’t left wrestling entirely.

Less than a year after her 2008 release, Wilson returned to compete in a Battle Royal at WrestleMania 25 but was unsuccessful.

Wilson also competed in the first Women’s Royal Rumble in 2018, where she eliminated Dana Brooke before being thrown out by Sonya Deville.

Torrie also competed in this year’s Women’s Rumble, where she was again eliminated by an ex-MMA fighter (Shayna Baszler) and was the only Hall of Famer in the match.

Wilson posted the following to her social media accounts recently:

Torrie Wilson – WWE Hall of Fame

Torrie Wilson was a featured performer in both WCW and WWE during her time in pro-wrestling. Upon her debut in WCW in the late 1990s, she was immediately placed in major storylines. She then debuted with WWE not long after the Invasion angle of 2001 began. Although she never won a title during her pro-wrestling career, Wilson was always someone featured prominently in the promotion she was working for.

The WWE Hall of Fame ceremony takes place tonight inside the Barclays Center. It will stream live for subscribers on the WWE Network.

Torrie Wilson Describes Her Reaction To HOF Induction

Former WWE Superstar Torrie Wilson recently appeared on the Ross Report podcast to discuss her upcoming WWE Hall Of Fame induction. Wilson stated that she was surprised to get the phone call for her to be entered into the WWE Hall Of Fame. Torrie also spoke to Jim Ross regarding how far the WWE’s women’s division has advanced over the years.

When asked about her induction Wilson stated that “yes, I was [surprised about the induction]! Actually, Mark Carrano called me and I was on a retreat. And I thought he was calling me to invite me to watch the show and he kind of threw me for a little loop there.” Wilson then added “yeah, I was definitely surprised!”

Torrie also discussed how times were different when she was in the WWE. “During my time, there really wasn’t a ton of women before us kind of showing us the way, so we were kind of, like, learning as we were going” Wilson elaborated further, saying that “Vince [McMahon] was asking for 10s, but he wants them to be able to wrestle and all of that. so we kind of, like, started creating our own thing.”

Wilson went on to say that “a lot of the girls there now were young. Not to age ourselves, but they were watching us and watching us just getting in ring enough and wanting to be that. And, whereas before, we pretty much, I know for myself, I learned in front of all the fans. Like, I was thrown out there. Of course, I showed up early in practice, but basically I was learning in front of the fans.”

Booker T Blasts Critics Of Torrie Wilson & Stevie Ray Joining WWE HOF

There has been a lot of criticism surrounding some of this year’s WWE Hall Of Fame inductees. Some disagree with the likes of Torrie Wilson and Stevie Ray going into the Hall Of Fame. Despite being one of the most recognizable female competitors in WWE history, Wilson never recorded a title victory during her seven-year tenure.

As for Stevie Ray, he piled up quite a bit of accolades in World Championship Wrestling (WCW). Ray is a 10-time WCW World Tag Team Champion, alongside his brother and now-two-time WWE Hall Of Famer Booker T, but also won a WCW World TV Title. Unfortunately, Ray never got the opportunity to compete in WWE.

Recently, Booker T addressed these criticisms on a recent episode of his podcast, “Heated Conversations.” The five-time WCW Champion called out those who oppose Ray and Wilson’s inductions, and explained why they deserve the honor:

“What dictates whether you should get into the Hall Of Fame or not? I’ve had dirt sheet writers talking about, my brother shouldn’t be in the Hall Of Fame. People who haven’t done anything for this business, talking about who should or who shouldn’t get into the Hall Of Fame.

“My thing is this, if you done nothing and contributed zero as far as taking one bump on the road, you don’t know who should get in and who shouldn’t get into the Hall Of Fame. Torrie Wilson is definitely Hall Of Fame worthy. She has paved the way for so many other lovelies, just like herself, that perhaps didn’t think that they could actually do it because they didn’t fit that mold.

“Torrie Wilson gave them that belief in themselves, to say, ‘Hey, if Torrie Wilson can do it, I can do it too.’ So Torrie is definitely a Hall Of Famer as far as I’m concerned. All the critics out there, all the pundits – who have never done anything, who have never taken one bump, who would never be awarded for anything that they’ve done in their lives, they need to step off. Torrie Wilson, you got my stamp of approval sweetheart. You stepped up.”

What do you think about Booker T’s comments regarding Ray and Wilson in the HOF?

Torrie Wilson Responds To Negative Backlash Over Hall Of Fame Inclusion

We recently reported on former WWE Superstar, Torrie Wilson, becoming an inductee into WWE’s Hall Of Fame Class of 2019.

Since then, however, there has been some negative backlash regarding her induction by some members of the WWE Universe. They do not believe that she has earned a spot amongst the other members of WWE’s Hall Of Fame.

Speaking with David LeGreca and Bully Ray on Busted Open Radio, Torrie Wilson addressed these comments and the fans who have been criticising WWE for wanting her to join her peers like Trish Stratus and Lita.

“I think some of the people that are angry are the same people that are forgetting that this is an entertainment show and I was not calling the shots backstage going, ‘Hey Vince, can I please wrestle in a bikini tonight?’” she explained. “I actually was out there with Fit Finlay going, ‘OK, what’s the most athletic match I can put together with a bikini on?”

During her tenure with the company, one thing Torrie Wilson was never able to accomplish was becoming a champion — a fact she is acutely aware of after making a list of her accomplishments once she’d received the phone call by Mark Carrano offering her a HOF spot.

“Immediately when I hung up the phone, I sat there and thought, like…I basically started putting together this list of all the things I’m not. And I was never a champion,” Wilson said.

“I could do much better than my haters about beating myself up. Then I had to put myself in check but there are a lot of things that I am. I’m not Charlotte Flair, I’m not jumping off ladders, but I am Torrie Wilson and I did have something to bring to the table. I think for most people, we are just too quick to start listening to the negatives and losing focus on what we can bring to the table.”

Torrie Wilson joins The Honky Tonk Man and D-Generation X (Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Billy Gunn, Road Dogg, X-Pac, and Chyna.)

This year’s HOF ceremony takes place on April 6th, 2019 from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York over WrestleMania weekend.

Torrie Wilson Joins WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2019

Retired women’s superstar Torrie Wilson in the latest inductee in the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2019.

She joins D-Generation X and The Honky Tonk Man, who were previously confirmed for the Hall of Fame induction, which takes place on April 6 during WrestleMania weekend in Brooklyn, N.Y.

“This feels like a sweet closure,” Wilson said to ESPN about her induction. “Since I retired, so many people have asked me, ‘Do you feel bad you’ve never won a title?’ And I have always said no, because I felt like I got the value — even though it would have been nice [to win a title]. But being inducted into the Hall of Fame feels like a championship belt to me, because it really makes me feel appreciated.”

Wilson first entered the professional wrestling business in 1999 after she was a notable fitness model and crowned Miss Galaxy just before signing with WCW where her career outside the ring began.

When Wilson first joined WCW, she acted as manager and valet to several stars including Shane Douglas, Billy Kidman and David Flair.

Following WWE’s purchase of WCW in 2001, Wilson participated in the famed ‘Invasion’ storyline where she began performing in ring on a regular basis.

During her WWE career, Wilson was a regular member of the women’s roster who engaged in several notable rivalries including Stacy Kiebler, Sable and Dawn Marie.

In the latter part of her in-ring career, Wilson also engaged in matches with the likes of Trish Stratus and Mickie James before health problems forced her to retire from active competition in 2008.

Wilson managed to return to WWE on a couple of occasions in the past including a spot in the first ever all women’s Royal Rumble in 2018.

Now Wilson can add WWE Hall of Famer to her list of accolades as she joins the induction class that will be celebrated in a ceremony at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on April 6.

Torrie Wilson Reveals Original Plans For WWE Evolution Match

Former WWE star Torrie Wilson has revealed some plans that she had originally at the first-ever women’s pay-per-view event under the WWE banner, Evolution, on October 28, 2018, at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, in Uniondale, New York.

Wilson shed light on this while serving as a recent guest Lilian Garcia’s Chasing Glory podcast where she spoke about various topics. She recalled how WWE had called her a few months before the show and asked if she wanted to compete at the show, which she agreed to do so. She wanted to be in a match and had pitched a contest. This match would’ve seen her team up with Michelle McCool to take on The IIconics (Peyton Royce & Billie Kay) in a tag team bout.

“It was gonna happen, and then they decided they didn’t want it to happen.” She added that she was excited as she started to train for it in Orlando, Florida but “for whatever reasons creatively it didn’t happen.”

Instead, WWE booked her in a 20-woman Battle Royal for a women’s championship match that was won by Nia Jax. Kay, Royce, Molly Holly, Kelly Kelly, Sonya Deville, Alundra Blayze, Maria Kanellis, Lana, Mandy Rose, Dana Brooke, Michelle McCool, Naomi, Carmella, Ivory, Asuka, Tamina, Zelina Vega, and Ember Moon also competed in the match.

Wilson added that she was glad she worked the Battle Royal instead of the tag match because she took two bumps and thought it was a good thing she didn’t work a full match.

John Cena Has Advice For Fans, Torrie Wilson Calls Out TSA

John Cena Has Advice For Fans

John Cena has shared a rather inspirational message with his fans on Twitter. Cena, who is expected to make his WWE return in Shanghai, urged fans to be less set in their ways. He also suggested they break their routines and try new things.

Check out the Tweet here:

“Be less set in your ways. Routine allows for many comforts and conveniences, but can prevent you from learning valuable things about you. Do something different, or something you always wanted to.”

Torrie Wilson Calls Out TSA

Torrie Wilson is very upset about her experience with TSA at an Orlando airport. Wilson ranted about the event on Twitter and even identified the officer she took issue with.

The incident apparently even warranted Wilson to believe she could be kicked off the plane. Wilson asked fans to bail her out of jail should something happen. Here’s Wilson’s account of the incident:

“Officer BRACERO. . I thoroughly enjoyed the very detailed pat down your female officer gave me. (My choice) & watching u hold, swab & look at every piece in my purse slowly. feels dirty now w/your lovely energy.

“All cuz I giggled that u were so scared of my 3 lb dog. PS. I hope u get laid soon. Pss. It was also sooo funny that time when u laughed & told your co-worker I wanted a female pat down.

“Haha crazy huh?! If I get pulled off my plane & put in jail can someone please come bail me out?”

Torrie Wilson Reacts To XFL Return Rumors (Video)

TMZ has an interview up with former WWE star Torrie Wilson in which they discuss the rumored return of the XFL.

Torrie claimed that if there was ever a time to start up a football league, now would be the time. She mentioned that she had actually just been discussing how the NFL has been declining in viewership due to the controversy surrounding the National Anthem and players kneeling. Torrie stated that “a smart man like Vince McMahon would swoop in” and take some of the fans currently protesting the NFL.

When asked wether or not she believes Vince could be successful a second time around, Torrie believes that he has learned a lot of lessons from his first failed run with the XFL and could produce a much better product than before. She also said she is all in for an XFL return and would love to be a part of it if Vince McMahon called her up.

Torrie said she’d like to be a head cheerleader or a referee – and is even willing to go to “ref school”:

“I’ll be the head cheerleader. Yeah, or ref. I could be a ref. I can go to ref school.”

Former WWE Wrestler Says Today’s Divas Are “Nothing Special”

Rory McAllister, who appeared for WWE from 2006 to 2008 as a member of The Highlanders, feels today’s crop of Divas don’t compare to the extraordinary bombshells of days gone by. Though attractive in their own right, he categorizes today’s female talent as ‘girls,’ rather than ‘Divas,’ and lacking special, indefinable attributes.

“WWE has some pretty girls working there but what happened to having Divas!? Trish, Candace, Torrie. WOMEN of hotness!” McAllister voiced on Twitter Thursday.

He then makes a daring comparison.

“I can see pretty much most of today’s chicks at any bar on a Friday night. #nothingspecial.”

A follower of McAllister’s stated, “WWE doesn’t believe in having divas who can wrestle, they’d rather just give them 3 minutes and and tell them to bounce around.” The wrestler responded, “Agreed, but they’re not even hot enough to hold my interest.”

He continues, “Like I said I see them in any bar. But! If Trish walked into a bar, EVERYONE would be like “who the fuck is that!” Same goes for Torrie Wilson, Candace, Lita etc. The new chicks have zero “IT” factor.”

McAllister also feels that WWE’s premiere starlet, Kelly Kelly, lacks je ne sais quoi.

“She’s a good lookin chick but no “holy shit” factor!” he wrote.

WWE brass may share similar sentiments; no Diva has solely graced the cover of their magazine since 2006.
