HHH Talks Physical WWE HOF Building, Goldust/MMA Appearance, More

-WWE Superstar Triple H recently spoke to the Orlando Business Journal about a potential physical WWE Hall Of Fame building. Hunter said, “I don’t want a Hall of Fame or some other attraction to just be something where people see some guy’s shorts. We are the WWE and we are big, so whatever we do needs to be the same. If I were to say what it could be, think of it as something that has shows or live interactive things for fans. For example, something like a 4-D experience where the fan would come face-to-face with a 3-D Andre the Giant – something along that scale.”

Check out the complete article online at BizJournals.com.

-The Xtreme Sports Entertainment (XSE) mixed-martial-arts promotion announced an appearance by former WWE Superstar Dustin “Goldust” Rhodes for their next event, which is scheduled for Saturday, July 27th in Melbourne, Florida. Goldust will be doing a meet-and-greet with fans at the live event.

Daniel Bryan and Randy Orton Fined By WWE For Chair Shot Exchange On Raw

WWE announced Friday that Daniel Bryan and Randy Orton have been fined an undisclosed monetary amount for their chair shot exchange in a Street Fight on Monday’s Raw.

“We don’t allow chair shots to the head in WWE,” said Paul “Triple H” Levesque, WWE’s Executive Vice President, Talent and Live Events. “We understand it was in the heat of the moment but we take this very seriously and as a result, [Orton and Bryan] were fined.”

Orton offered comment on the fine, stating, “Trust me, it was enough.”

Backstage Argument Between Daniel Bryan & Triple H, Final RAW Rating

– Monday’s WWE RAW, the night after Payback, drew a 3.0 rating cable rating and averaged 4.15 million viewers. The rating was even from last week, while viewership was up from last week’s audience of 3.99 million viewers. Here’s the hourly breakdown for this week:

  • Hour 1: 4.03 million
  • Hour 2: 4.26 million
  • Hour 3: 4.17 million

– Daniel Bryan’s injury on RAW (a stinger) caused the finish of his match against Randy Orton to be changed. the original plan was for Daniel Bryan to go over clean, however, the injury resulted in the match finish being changed on the fly.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, there was a heated argument backstage, with Daniel Bryan and Triple H yelling at each other in the gorilla position. Bryan was said to be irate with the match being called off – which surprised many observers, since Bryan is usually very soft spoken. The two later apologized to each other.

Backstage News On Triple H/Curtis Axel Storyline, How Vince McMahon Will Combat The NBA Playoffs

– According to this week’s issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Triple H’s ongoing angle with Curtis Axel was originally scheduled to climax at SummerSlam. However, with recent Raw episodes indicating it will lead to a match between both individuals at this month’s Payback pay-per-view event, the storyline was promoted ahead of schedule due to WWE’s decision to combat potentially low ratings at all costs. This decision, however, was not fruitful as Monday’s Raw was the lowest-rated episode of the year going head-to-head with TNT’s presentation of the 2013 NBA Eastern Conference Finals Game 7 between the Miami Heat and Indiana Pacers.

– In an effort to combat ratings competition from the NBA Playoffs, Vince McMahon wants WWE’s live event booking staff to schedule Raw events in “hot” wrestling cities such as Philadelphia, Chicago and New York City for Mondays when late round Game Sixes and Sevens may take place. He believes if Raw viewers witness a hot crowd in the opening segment at 8:00 p.m., they will be less likely to tune out once the game starts.

Update On Triple H & Where His Storyline Is Headed

[rybackrules]At the end of Monday’s RAW, WWE COO Triple H was unable to finish his match against Curtis Axel and was tended to by WWE doctors after appearing very disoriented.

After RAW went off the air, WWE.com ran an angle where Triple H nearly passed out and did not know where he was. For those who have been asking, Triple H’s condition was just part of an angle and not a legitimate medical emergency.

The Triple H angle at the end of Monday’s RAW was reportedly the start of a concussion storyline, according to f4wonline.com.
