Trish Stratus was recently ranked as the #1 WWE women’s wrestler of the modern era. WWE ranked its top-50 female Superstars since the early 90s and Trish topped the list. Trish also recently took the time to praise AEW’s Britt Baker on Twitter.
Busted Open Radio announced that Trish will be a guest on the show tomorrow. Baker then asked for the hosts to say hi to Trish for her.
Tell her I said “hi!”???
— Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. (@RealBrittBaker) April 6, 2021
Trish then responded to Britt’s comment.
“Hello you bloody legend – literally! Wanted to reach out to give you the proverbial thumbs up but well, you know how that went for some … but since I have you, thank you for your work and contributions as a woman in our sport. Keep it up girl,” Trish wrote.

In a recent interview with Digital Spy, Baker talked about having watched a Trish Stratus match the night before her Lights Out match with Thunder Rosa.
“The night before to hype myself up I watched the Trish Stratus and Lita main event from Raw. Just the gravity of that match, how it’s remembered as one of the most iconic women’s matches of all time I wanted to go in having that same mentality,” Baker said.
“I wanted this match to be remembered, I want this to be something that people talk about forever, not just for this week, not just for tonight. I just really wanted it to go down as something that is remembered.”

We wish to thank @WWE for including one of the most dominate, beautiful, and amazing women to ever grace the ring in their top 5 women of all time. Let us hope this is a sign that she will soon get a solo HoF induction. pic.twitter.com/Bd1GU0Tm3L
Gail Kim was asked about only coming in at #33. Kim had two runs with WWE from 2002-04 and again from 2008-11.
“I didn’t do much there. Besides the title win, there was nothing else besides gimmick matches. It’s WWE rankings. Not women’s wrestling rankings, but thanks anyway,” Kim Tweeted at someone who expressed they thought she should have been ranked higher.
A latest photo from Natalya might have spoiled a big surprise for the Royal Rumble PPV this Sunday and revealed an interesting entry for the women’s version of the battle royal.
The former SmackDown women’s champion recently posted a photo of herself with WWE Hall Of Famer Trish Stratus and wrote that she ‘can’t wait for Sunday’.
However, Natalya quickly deleted the picture as seen in the screenshot below and her actions have started the rumors about Stratus possibly being one of the surprise entrants for the upcoming bout:
Trish Stratus was a part of the inaugural women’s Royal Rumble match in 2018 where she entered at #30 and was eliminated by the Boss Sasha Banks.
Though she did not participate in the next two Royal Rumble matches and her last wrestling appearance was during SummerSlam 2019 where she faced Charlotte Flair in a one on one match.
Trish Stratus is a WWE Hall Of Famer who was part of the company’s roster and wrestled as a full-time star from 2000 to 2006. During her active years, the female star won the women’s championship seven times.
She has been making sporadic appearances for the company since 2006 and an in-ring return for the former champion is not completely out of question.
Trish Stratus continues to address a potential match against WWE Superstar Sasha Bans. The trailblazing Attitude Era star appeared on The Bump this week to discuss the women’s revolution movement, her career and much more.
Ever since their interaction in the 2018 Women’s Royal Rumble match, fans have speculated the possibility of Stratus and ‘The Boss’ going one-on-one.
Stratus says she loves and respects Sasha Banks. She knows fans want to see them wrestle and finds the match-up intriguing.
“I mean, do you guys think fans would want to see that? I’m not sure,” she asked sarcastically. “The fact of the matter is that I can’t go back, that’s a proven fact, right? I love and respect Sasha so much. I love her in-ring work. Would I love a taste at that? Yes.
Here’s the thing people have been buzzing about Sasha and I’s interaction at the Royal Rumble.” said Trish Stratus “As a wrestling fan, do I think this is intriguing? Absolutely!”
Earlier this year, Trish Stratus got fans buzzing with a cryptic video she tweeted that included her and Sasha Banks. WWE knows fans are interested in a potential ‘dream match’ between the two women, as seen in the video embedded below.
Would you like to see Trish Stratus returning to the ring for one last match against Sasha Banks sometimes in the future?
While Trish Stratus has not been announced for WrestleMania so far, a new tweet from her has sparked rumors of a major WrestleMania feud for the former Women’s Champion.
Stratus, who debuted on WWE Television in March 2000, recently posted a short clip from her Twitter in celebration of “20 Years of Stratusfaction.”
What’s interesting to note here is that towards the ending, the video features a graphic of the WWE Hall Of Famer having a confrontation with none other than ‘The Boss’ Sasha Banks from the 2018 Women’s Royal Rumble match:
This tweet has sparked rumors of a potential rivalry between the two and with WrestleMania being around the corner, people have started speculating if WWE can be planning a match between Stratus and Banks at the Shows Of Shows.
Sasha Banks is currently out of action with an ankle injury
and there is no word yet on how long she will stay on the shelf or what the
company is planning for her return.
WrestleMania is currently expected to feature 6 women’s matches. Since matches for all other horsewomen have already been account for, it would make sense for Banks to be involved in a big match against someone like Trish Stratus for the show.
The video also shows the date of Thursday, March 19. WWE has
a rare live event scheduled from Mobile Civic Center in Mobile, Alabama on the
day and it would now be interesting to see if Trish Stratus makes an appearance
on the show.
It didn’t take WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus long to get her next appearance on WWE television booked.
The former WWE Women’s Champion announced on her official website that she’ll be appearing on the premiere episode of WWE SmackDown Live on the FOX network will be a 20th Anniversary special.
Stratus commented on the appearance by writing the following on Twitter, “Excited to be a part of #Smackdown to help usher in a new era on @FOXTV.”
Stratus was last seen in action when she suffered a loss to former WWE RAW and SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair at the WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view event in August.
This marked the first-time ever that these two stars have wrestled each other inside the squared circle. Stratus announced leading up to the contest that it would be her retirement match.
This also marked Stratus’ return to the ring in her hometown and her first match since last October at the Evolution event.
Brock Lesnar, WWE Hall of Famers Kurt Angle, Lita, Mick Foley, Booker T, Hulk Hogan, Trish Stratus, Goldberg, Jerry “The King” Lawler, Mark Henry, Ric Flair, and Sting are advertised to appear.
Trish Stratus recently returned to in-ring action against Charlotte Flair at WWE’s SummerSlam pay-per-view. Despite a valiant effort, Stratus would ultimately suffer a submission loss to “The Queen.”
In a reflective post to Instagram, Stratus admitted she initially believed she was stepping into the ring for her comeback match. However, she soon realized her SummerSlam clash was going to be her farewell match instead.
Stratus called her bout with Charlotte a “passing of the proverbial torch,” adding that “It was an honour and a privilege to step into the ring with @charlottewwe, one of the very best of her era, a total pro.”
Trish then expressed her gratitude to the current roster of women in WWE for allowing her to return, if only to “dip” her toes into the current waters.
The former Women’s Champion then ruminated on her pro wrestling journey as she recalled:
“In the beginning of my career, I set out to knock down the preconceived notion of what a female could do in this male oriented business and the current roster of ladies represent everything we dreamed of. If we laid the platform, you all have built a friggin skyscraper and we all couldn’t be prouder!”
Trish Stratus competed in her farewell match at the
SummerSlam PPV and while she wasn’t able to defeat her opponent in Charlotte
Flair, the two still put on a great performance during the show.
After the PPV, Stratus was interviewed backstage where she was asked about her bout during the night and her thoughts on Flair after the match.
Replying to the question, the WWE Hall Of Famer said that she is honored to go in there with an athlete of Charlotte’s caliber and the girls in the women’s locker room should feel blessed to do what they do:
“I am so honored to be able to go in there with Charlotte Flair. I am honored and privileged to be in there with an athlete of her caliber. I am just thankful that girls (of today) let me dip my toes in the waters of today.
I think only a handful of people in the world can do what we do. I am honored to be one of those people. We should all feel blessed to do what we do here.”
Trish Stratus started her WWE career in 2000 and stayed with
the company for almost 6 years before taking a semi-retirement in 2006. Since
then the former Champion had been making sporadic appearances for the company.
On July 30th episode of SmackDown Live in Memphis, TN, the former WWE Women’s Champion appeared on a special edition of Jerry Lawler’s interview segment, “the King’s Court.”
In this segment, Lawler asked Trish if she ever wishes about coming back to the ring and having that one final match. This led Flair to come out and challenging her to a match, which Stratus accepted.
This marked the first-time ever that these two stars have wrestled each other inside the squared circle.
This comes after it was reported that WWE and Stratus were in talks to have the legendary pro wrestler work at this show. This also marks Stratus’ return to the ring in her hometown and her first match since last October at the Evolution event.
On July 23rd edition of SmackDown Live, Flair hinted on SmackDown Live she would have a match at SummerSlam that would prove she is the greatest of all-time. Stratus noted in interviews leading up to the match that it would be her final contest.
What are your thoughts on Flair beating Trish? Was this the right call by WWE officials? Sound off in the comment section.
In an interview with The Toronto Sun, WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus talked about her return to in-ring action while promoting the SummerSlam pay-per-view event.
In this interview, the pro wrestling legend explained why she felt like she had to come back for one last match with Charlotte Flair at this show.
“As you get older, you decide this is it. I don’t need to keep coming back. I’ve had my ride. But this scenario was so special. To face a superstar like Charlotte Flair at this point of my life.”
Stratus brought up the event being in Toronto and SummerSlam being the second biggest pay-per-view of the year that the situation couldn’t be more right.
She brought up how she’s facing the greatest of Flair’s generation and it could be argued that she was the greatest of her generation. It creates a pretty unique matchup.
Stratus added that everything is aligning for this and with her age, she questions how much longer can she do this or want to do this. Thus, she thinks this is the perfect time to do it.
It turns out that WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus will be calling it a career in the pro wrestling business for a second time. This go around, it’s likely to be for good.
Stratus is slated to take on former WWE RAW and SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair in a singles match at the SummerSlam pay-per-view event. She has been doing media for WWE to promote this show.
Stratus took to her official Twitter account where she noted that she will not wrestle again after SummerSlam and it will be the final time that fans can see her in the ring.
Thus, for fans of one of the greatest female wrestlers to ever compete inside of the squared circle, make sure to tune into SummerSlam to witness her final match. She wrote the following:
“That’s a wrap on media day #1! First flight out of Detroit then hopped right into media talking about taking on @MsCharlotteWWE in my FINAL match this Sunday … now on my way home to my littles!!! #SummerSlam @ETCanada @globalnewsto @CherylHickeyETC.”
WWE has announced a match and segment featuring Hall of Famers for tonight’s episode of Monday Night RAW.
This afternoon the company confirmed that fans will be getting a SummerSlam preview as WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus is slated to return to the ring to team up with Natalya to face Charlotte Flair and RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch.
Also announced for this show is WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels making an appearance. He’ll do so by appearing on MizTV for a segment with The Miz and Dolph Ziggler.
Although not confirmed, it’s possible that this is where WWE officially announces that Goldberg will make his return to in-ring action to take on Dolph Ziggler at SummerSlam.
While WWE previously announced Miz vs. Ziggler, it’s been reported that WWE has made a change of plans and the former Universal Champion will take on Ziggler at this show.
Natalya is set to challenge Lynch for the RAW Women’s Title at Sunday’s WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view event while Stratus will face Flair in a singles match.
WWE holds this episode RAW in Pittsburgh, PA at the PPG Paints Arena.
Join us here later tonight for WWE RAW Live Results and our post-show RAW Takeaways feature.
Two WWE Hall of Famers are slated to be backstage at this week’s television events – Monday Night RAW and SmackDown Live.
First up is former WWE Champion Kurt Angle, who mentioned in a post on his official Facebook page that he’d be backstage at RAW in Pittsburgh, PA at the PPG Paints Arena.
This show is set to be held in his hometown. As of this writing, there’s no word yet on if he’ll be appearing on the show. It should be noted that he has been working as a producer for WWE since retiring earlier this year.
Angle made the announcement when he wrote, “PITTSBURGH!!!! Are you ready for Raw tomorrow?? Because its my home town, If I personally see you wearing my shirt outside i will autograph it, So have that sharpie in hand. #itstrue #BlackandYellow.”
PWinsider.com reported that former WWE Women’s Champion Trish Stratus is set to appear on Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown Live in Detroit, Michigan at the Little Caesars Arena.
She’ll be on the show to further promote her match against former WWE RAW and SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair at the upcoming SummerSlam pay-per-view event.
This marks the second straight week that the pro wrestling legend will appear on SmackDown. Last week, she appeared on a special edition of Jerry Lawler’s interview segment, “the King’s Court” to set up the match.
Trish Stratus and Charlotte Flair are going all out for their upcoming match at the WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view event.
The contest was set up during a special edition of Jerry Lawler’s interview segment, “the King’s Court” on this week’s episode of SmackDown Live in Memphis, TN at the FedExForum when the WWE Hall of Famer made an appearance.
Once Flair came out and issued a challenge to the legendary pro wrestler, Stratus accepted then traded some words.
The two talented stars have taken their feud from television to social media where they recently exchanged some words on Twitter. The former WWE Women’s Champion knocked Flair for holding a title for a week and questioned if that even adds up to being a champion.
The former RAW and SmackDown Women’s Champion took offense to that by noting that she’s competing in the greatest era of women’s wrestling while Stratus competed a decade before the women’s evolution.
Are you really comparing the women of your era to the deepest women’s division that has ever existed? This is the greatest era of women’s wrestling, and I am the best of this era (and it’s not even close). https://t.co/fyAvOsPuXQ
Oddsmakers have released the early betting odds for the match, according to BetOnline. Flair is a +200 favorite to beat Stratus, who is the -150 underdog.
Although not confirmed, it’s likely that the two stars will appear on Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown Live to further build their program.
The IIconics Explain Why Their SmackDown Match Was Nixed
This week’s episode of SmackDown Live was expected to
feature a tag team match between The IIconics and the team of Mandy Rose and
Sonya Deville.
However, the match never took place and WWE posted a backstage video of the current Women’s Tag Team Champions explaining why the bout was nixed.
In the video as seen below, Peyton Royce and Billie Kay explain that the match was nixed due to a very dangerous case of puppy fever before being interrupted by Mandy Rose and her partner:
Trish Stratus On Her Upcoming Match
After weeks of speculation, WWE finally made the match
between WWE Hall Of Famer Trish Stratus and Charlotte Flair official for the
upcoming SummerSlam PPV during this week’s episode of SmackDown Live.
The episode saw Trish being a guest on the King’s Court
segment and she was interrupted by Charlotte Flair. Flair went on to challenge
the Hall Of Famer for a match at the upcoming PPV which she accepted.
After the show, Trish Stratus was interviewed backstage where she was asked about the upcoming bout and she said that she will remind Charlotte who the queen of queens is:
WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus is back and has her return match booked.
On Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown Live in Memphis, TN at the FedExForum, the former WWE Women’s Champion appeared on a special edition of Jerry Lawler’s interview segment, “the King’s Court.”
Lawler asked Trish if she ever wishes about coming back to the ring and having that one final match. This led Flair to come out and challenging her to a match at SummerSlam, which Stratus accepted.
This comes after last week where it was reported that WWE and Stratus were in talks to have the legendary pro wrestler work at this show.
WWE SummerSlam Card
WWE presents the SummerSlam pay-per-view event on Sunday, August 11, 2019 in Toronto, Ontario at the Scotiabank Arena that will air on the WWE Network.
Here is the updated card:
WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar vs. Seth Rollins
WWE RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch vs. Natalya
WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley vs. Ember Moon
Kevin Owens vs. Shane McMahon – If Owens Loses He’s Forced To Quit WWE
WWE Hall of Famer Booker T is excited to see one potential match at the upcoming WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view event.
Last week it was reported that fellow WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus was in talks with WWE to make a return to in-ring action. It was later revealed that she would take on former RAW and SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair at this show.
Although the showdown as only been reported and WWE not confirming it just yet, former WWE stars are beginning to comment on the possible SummerSlam match, which now includes Booker T.
The pro wrestling legend took to his podcast, the Reality of Wrestling to give his thoughts on this match.
This is where Booker noted that Stratus is one of his favorites of all-time because she had everything. He brought up how she checked off every box and did it her way. He noted that he’s really looking forward to it.
Booker T added, “It could be history in the making, especially if Charlotte can go out there and beat the Queen in Toronto.”
It should be noted that WWE didn’t have Stratus appear on the RAW Reunion special with the other legends. Former female WWE stars such as Eve Torres, Kelly Kelly, Torrie Wilson, and Jillian Hall did appear on the program.
It appears as though Hall Of Famer Trish Stratus will be returning to in-ring action at SummerSlam.
Stratus is reportedly in talks with WWE to wrestle a singles match at WWE’s major summer pay-per-view, according to Pro Wrestling Sheet.
At the time of writing, there is no indication as to when she would be returning or whom she would be wrestling against. Speculation, however, points towards Charlotte Flair.
“Queen Of All Eras”
Flair, who appeared on last night’s episode of SmackDown Live, was incredibly vocal about not being featured at SummerSlam.
During a backstage segment, “The Queen,” insulted that Bayley will be facing Ember Moon, demanded a matchup at “The Biggest Event of The Summer.”
“Being off of SummerSlam is a slap to the face. […] How do you leave the woman solely responsible for the women’s revolution off of SummerSlam? How do you leave the Queen of all Eras of sports entertainment off of SummerSlam? How?” she asked.
“Mark my words, I will be at SummerSlam. Actually, no. I demand to be at SummerSlam. And my opponent will be better than Ember Moon, and I’m going to prove why I am the greatest female Superstar of all time.”
Trish Stratus last wrestled for WWE at their Evolution event on October 2018. She and Lita would defeat the team of Mickie James and Alicia Fox.
SummerSlam takes place on August 11th from the Scotiabank Arena in Stratus’ hometown, Toronto, Canada.
This past Sunday at WWE’s Elimination Chamber PPV, Sasha Banks and Bayley would make history. The two would survive the Chamber matchup to be crowned the modern era’s inaugural WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. The duo saw off stiff competition from Nia Jax and Tamina, Sarah Logan and Liv Morgan, Billie Kay and Peyton Royce, and Carmella and Naomi, and Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville.
Given that these new championships are intended to be defended across multiple WWE brands, it didn’t take long for challengers to step forward, proclaiming their interest in the titles.
Others have also expressed an interest, including NXT’s Dakota Kai and Tegan Nox.
Dakota would tweet out her thoughts, saying, “… women’s tag titles defended on all brands including @WWENXT , you say? @TeganNoxWWE_ #TheComeback #FlyKicks”
Bayley would respond shortly after with a succinct, ‘Please do, we’re ready”
The biggest interaction, however, took place off the back of a Hall Of Famer’s praise.
Trish Stratus would reach out to congratulate the team, “My loves!!! I may or may not have tear’d up a little #itsaproudmamathing
Beyond proud… the right ones for this amazing and historic opportunity… ladies, here’s the ball…. @SashaBanksWWE @itsBayleyWWE the FIRST EVER @WWE #WomensTagTeamChampions”
Both Trish Stratus and Lita wrestled in a 10 women tag match on Raw this week and while they are not scheduled to appear on the WWE Programming in the upcoming weeks, it appears that they are not done with the company in long term.
We noted before how WWE reportedly planned to use them in future and Officials see them as stars they can use for big events like Royal Rumble and WrestleMania.
During the latest edition of Pwinsider Elite Audio, Mike Johnson confirmed the previous reports and provided some more details on the situation.
According to him, WWE has plans to use them in some storyline in early 2019, though Johnson couldn’t elaborate what the company has in mind for both the Hall Of Famers.
He also revealed that there was talk of Stratus and Lita teaming up once again at WrestleMania 35 in a big tag match, though it’s not confirmed if this bout is still in the mix.
Both Trish Stratus and Lita returned to action during the Women’s Royal Rumble earlier this year and they competed in a tag match at the Evolution PPV on Sunday.
They were originally expected to face Mickie James and Alexa Bliss at the event but due to an injury Bliss suffered 2 weeks ago, she was replaced by Alicia Fox in the bout.
Backstage News On Trish Stratus And Lita’s Future After Evolution
Both Trish Stratus and Lita are expected to return to ring at the upcoming Evolution PPV but it appears that this won’t be their last match in near future.
According to Pwinsider, WWE expects these two to work more matches in the future. The company is planning to use them for big events like Royal Rumble and WrestleMania in upcoming times.
They both are set to face Alexa Bliss and Mickie James at the Evolution PPV. As we noted before, Bliss is scheduled to appear at the event but whether or not she will wrestle at the show is not clear.
Lana Gets Hacked
Strange posts started to appear from Lana’s Instagram account yesterday. The last few posts from her account claimed that she is giving away a number of iPhones and Apple Watches.
The SmackDown Star took on her Twitter account to address this situation later in the day and revealed that her Instagram had actually been hacked:
My instagram has been hacked !!!! Every message you are getting, post or IG story you are seeing in the last 2 hours is a HACKER
Lana is currently scheduled to take part in the announced Battle Royal for the Evolution PPV, with the winner getting a future title opportunity. You can check out an updated match card and betting odds for the event here.
– Chelsea Green signing with WWE was confirmed on Thursday as the organization announced the latest batch of talent to join the Performance Center. Green’s NXT debut is imminent as she is scheduled to appear at two live events next week.
Green announced tonight on Instagram that she will appear at Thursday’s show in Cocoa, Florida and Friday’s show in Largo, Florida.
https://www.instagram.com/p/BpIcBvIHzTV/
– Rusev and Lana will appear on a future episode of Drop the Mic on TBS, which pits celebrities against one another in a comic battle rap competition. Lana revealed the news today on her Instagram Story.
– Ahead of WWE Evolution, Alexa Bliss is Lilian Garcia’s next guest on Chasing Glory with Lilian Garcia. Alexa is teaming with Mickie James at the all-women’s pay-per-view and she will discuss her match against Trish Stratus and Lita. The interview will be available starting Monday.
WWE Hall Of Famers Lita and Trish Stratus will return to the ring later this month (Sun. October 28th, 2018). The pair will be involved in the first-ever all-female pay-per-view (PPV) in WWE history. They will team up against the duo of Alexa Bliss and Mickie James.
Initially, Trish and Lita were scheduled to have their own singles matches on the card. Trish was to have a one-on-one match with Bliss, while Lita was booked for a singles match with James. However, as the storyline progressed on WWE TV, it was revealed on RAW this week that the match would instead be a Tag Team bout.
It looks like this could be just the first of many Tag Teams between Trish and Lita. PWInsider reports that WWE is planning to have the two stick around after Evolution. The plan would be to have them appear on “major shows” as a team moving forward.
It wasn’t specifically mentioned which shows WWE is hoping for, however, obvious candidates such as Survivor Series and WrestleMania come to mind. This is also very interesting considering the rumors surrounding possible Women’s Tag Team Titles coming to WWE.
What do you think about Trish and Lita sticking around WWE as a team?
WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus spoke with Natalya as part of the latest edition of the Calgary Sun column to talk about various topics.
Facing Alexa Bliss
Stratus will make her in-ring return at the upcoming Evolution pay-per-view event on Sunday, October 28, 2018 in Long Island, New York at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum where she’ll face former WWE RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss.
Stratus stated that she has a lot of emotions going into this match as she is proud, honored, and nervous about it. She brought up how a decade or even a few years ago, they could never imagine they would be where they are today. ” It’s amazing, as back then we felt accomplished just getting a match on a pay-per-view event, and here we are with an entire event devoted to us!”
Today’s Female Stars
Although Stratus is no longer a full-time star, she does keep an eye on the stars of today as she noted that she’s proud to know that the blood, sweat, and tears they shed have helped pave the path. She stated that it’s the work of the women of today that have carved a viable and credible place for women in WWE. She brought up how she’s honored and humbled to have been asked back to participate at this event.
“I think pairing me with Alexa Bliss – a woman who in a very short time has accomplished so much – is great as there is a definite parallel to our careers. I think seeing the generational faceoff is intriguing to fans. We’re bringing together the past and present – conceptually it is exciting.”
Trish Stratus vs. Sasha Banks. It’s a match that many fans have been clamoring for since it was first teased in the first ever Women’s Royal Rumble match in January.
I spoke with both Banks and Stratus at personal appearances in August, and both seemed eager to face each other.
Although Stratus is booked for the upcoming WWE Evolution show, the company had a different creative vision, and announced Alexa Bliss as her opponent. Does this mean that Stratus vs. Banks will never happen? Not necessarily.
Both Banks and Stratus are appearing at New York Comic Con on Thursday, and if their social media chatter is any indication, it seems as though there may be a verbal confrontation of some sort between the two.
Stratus is semi-retired, and Banks has not been pushed as a focal point of the women’s division in nearly a year.
Does WWE see Banks as a star at the level of working with a Hall of Famer like Stratus? Where would the match take place? Would the company deem it worthy of the television time needed to build the feud during a WrestleMania season?
