RATINGS Are In For WWE RAW & TNA iMPACT! (4/5)

The ratings are in for the April 5, 2010 episodes of WWE RAW & TNA iMPACT!.

WWE RAW drew a 3.2 cable rating, down a lot from last week’s strong 3.7.

TNA iMPACT! did a 0.9 rating cable rating, up from last week’s aweful 0.6.

By comparison, NCAA championship basketball game earned its highest television rating since 2005, with a 14.2 fast national rating and 23 share. That’s up 31 percent from the 10.8/18 for North Carolina’s blowout win over Michigan State last year.

RAW Rating, Jericho-Bryan, Chavo Gets Stitches (Picture)

— Monday’s WWE RAW drew a 3.7 rating and averaged 5.32 million viewers. The show did hours of 3.56 and 3.78. (Source: PWInsider.com)

– After WWE NXT star Daniel Bryan wrote on Twitter that his ribs are still banged up from his match with Chris Jericho but he hopes to wrestle tonight, Jericho posted a reply on Twitter saying, “Stop whining. That was a week ago already…”

– Chavo Guerrero noted on Twitter last night that he was busted open above his eye and had to get 6 stitches after his match with Kofi Kingston at the tapings. He posted a graphic picture on Twitter of the cut – check it out:

iMPACT! Does Record Rating, Honky Tonk Rumor Killer

— This week’s TNA iMPACT! did a 1.4 rating, a new record for the company for a Thursday night broadcast. The show did hours of 1.46 and 1.3 with an average of 1,867,000 viewers. The show peaked in the opening 15-minute segment with a 1.51 rating. (Source: PWTorch.com)

— During Friday’s appearance on the Bubba the Love Sponge Show, Eric Bischoff shot down The Honky Tonk Man’s claim that he is “close to signing with TNA.”

“I’d rather drive a rusty ice pick through my eye than work a day with him. This guy couldn’t draw flies if you rolled him in cow s—. He’s negotiating with himself. No truth to that at all.”

On the other hand, Hulk Hogan said he would not mind bringing The Honky Tonk Man to TNA. He joked that HTM trademarked “Linda Hogan” because nobody else did and suggested he work a program with Bubba.

“If we brought him in and we did a program with Bubba, it would mean something,” Hogan said.

RAW Rating, NASCAR Driver Hosting Raw, Early Draft Talk

– Monday’s RAW did a 3.6 rating, with hours of 3.52 and 3.63.

– WWE has announced another NASCAR star will host Monday Night Raw, as driver Carl Edwards will host the February 8th Raw.

– While nothing is set in stone, WWE has already begun deliberating plans for the post-WrestleMania draft,  according to f4wonline.com. Tthe initial ideas call for the splitting up of some long-term WWE Superstar partnerships and tag teams.

RAW Rating, Pot Use In WWE, Shad To Be A Father?

– The 12/28 edition of WWE Raw drew a 3.6 rating, up from last week’s disappointing 3.2. The show did hours of 3.49 and 3.73.

– There is a report going around that Cryme Tyme member Shad Gaspard and his girlfriend Siliana Chanel will having a child sometime in March before WrestleMania.

– As noted earlier, reports are that marijuana use is down on WWE’s SmackDown brand while up on the RAW side. One source notes that this is incorrect and both sides are about even when it comes to marijuana use these days. There are several superstars on both rosters that are being held back due to their fondness of the illicit green plant.

Tribute To The Troops Rating, Hennig & DiBiase Teaming

– Saturday night’s WWE “Tribute to the Troops” NBC special averaged 2.39 million viewers – in the over-night ratings. By comparison, last year’s special edition on NBC drew approximately one million more viewers.

– Second generation talents Joe Hennig and Brett DiBiase are now using the name The Fortunate Sons in WWE’s Florida Championship Wrestling.

– ECW and WWE developmental star Abraham Washington promised at the FCW live event this past weekend that he would be wrestling in the ring in 2010.

– There are conflicting reports going around regarding the WWE Intercontinental Title rematch between John Morrison & Drew McIntyre and if it takes place on the New Year’s Day edition of SmackDown or the Royal Rumble pay-per-view. Either way, it should be confirmed on this week’s WWE Superstars.
