Tyler Bate Set for WWE Raw Return After Seven-Month Injury

Tyler Bate is set to return to the ring after being sidelined for seven months with a torn pectoral muscle. According to PWInsider, he has been medically cleared and is expected to rejoin the Raw roster as early as the February 24 episode of the red brand.

This return marks a significant comeback for the 27-year-old British standout, who has proven to be a fan favorite since his arrival in 2016. In early 2017, Bate became the inaugural WWE United Kingdom Champion aged 19, making him the youngest singles titleholder in company history at the time. He later achieved the rare NXT UK Triple Crown, holding the United Kingdom Championship, Heritage Cup, and Tag Team Championship (with Trent Seven).

In 2024, Bate moved to the main roster and formed the New Catch Republic with Pete Dunne. The pair challenged for gold at WrestleMania XL and Elimination Chamber before Bate’s injury put plans for the pair on hold.

With Pete Dunne now a heel, it seems unlikely that the New Catch Republic will reunite when Bate is back in the ring. As a singles star, Bate will be able to work with names such as the recently-debuted Penta, or even reigning Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker. With a blend of technical mastery and underdog charisma, the “Big Strong Boi” is poised to make an impact as his in-ring return approaches.

Tyler Bate Reportedly Close To Returning From Injury

Tyler Bate is reportedly nearing a return to action. According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Bate is “extremely close” to being medically cleared after recovering from a torn pectoral injury. Once cleared, he is expected to rejoin the WWE Raw roster.

Bate has been sidelined since July 2024, following his last match on the July 2nd episode of WWE NXT. In that bout, he and Pete Dunne—competing as the team New Catch Republic—went over Hank Walker and Tank Ledger (Hank & Tank). Shortly after, WWE announced Bate’s injury on the July 8th episode of WWE Raw. Bate later revealed in a post on social media that he had suffered a complete tear of his left pectoral major and tendon, which required surgery.

During Bate’s absence, his tag team partner Pete Dunne has continued to compete in singles competition. However, no official timeline has been provided for Bate’s return as of this writing.

Fans are eagerly awaiting the return of the talented former NXT UK Champion, whose recovery appears to be nearing its conclusion.

Bron Breakker Promises IC Title Shot To Injured Star

Bron Breakker has promised an Intercontinental Championship match to Tyler Bate whenever the injured star returns to action.

The 26-year-old won his first main roster title at the SummerSlam PPV this past Saturday when he defeated Sami Zayn in a singles match.

The new champion appeared on a Fanatics Live auction on Sunday morning. He reiterated his comments about wanting to defend his title against John Cena.

When an NXT Championship belt came up for auction, Breakker was asked which was the favorite match of his run with the title.

He recalled his title unification match with Tyler Bate before promising a championship opportunity to the UK star whenever he comes back:

“I feel like Tyler Bate and I [had a good match]. That was super early on too. I was still super brand new. He’s a little banged up right now, so I wish he comes back soon.

And you know what, whenever you get back my man, you want to challenge me for the Intercontinental Championship, then I’ll lay it down for you. Because we had a good one.”

Bron Breakker faced the then NXT UK Champion Tyler Bate in a title unification match at the NXT Worlds Collide event back in September 2022.

Breakker was only a year into his wrestling career but he was able to defeat Bate who had been wrestling for a decade at the point.

Tyler Bate suffered an arm injury during the July 2 episode of NXT last month. He underwent a surgery on July 8 and the former champion is expected to stay out of action for the rest of the year.

When Tyler Bate Is Expected To Return From Injury

New Catch Republic member Tyler Bate is not expected to return anytime soon.

The former NXT UK Champion has been on the shelf after suffering an injury. His last appearance took place on the July 2 edition of NXT where he teamed up with Pete Dunne and faced the team of Hank Walker and Tank Ledger. In the final moments of the match, Bate seemingly hurt his right arm. Initially, it seemed that he was selling the move but that was not the case.

Fightful Select has now reported that Bate’s injury is serious and he is likely to make his in-ring return in 2025.

Taking to his social media, Tyler Bate revealed that he legitimately suffered an injury. He revealed that he had torn his left pectoral major & tendon off the bone. In an update, he informed the fans that he underwent successful surgery on July 8 and would be out for some time as he recuperates.

“Surgery yesterday was successful and all has been put back where it belongs. I’ll be gone for some time while I recover..”

While Bate is sidelined with injury, his New Catch Republic tag team partner has turned heel. He attacked his former Brawling Brutes teammate Sheamus on the latest edition of Monday Night Raw. Reports suggest that the decision to have Pete Dunne’s feud with Sheamus was made as Bate is likely to be gone for a year due to the injury.

We at SEScoops wish Tyer Bate a swift recovery.

Big Strong Boy Down: WWE’s Tyler Bate Undergoes Surgery

Former United Kingdom Champion Tyler Bate hasn’t been seen on WWE TV since the July 2nd edition of NXT when he and his New Catch Republic brother Pete Dune faced off against the team of Hank Walker and Tank Ledger.

During the later stages of the match, Bate could be seen favoring his right arm, with WWE fans hoping that it was just some of the top-notch selling they’ve come to expect from the Englishman. Unfortunately, the pain on Bate’s face was very honest, as he announced on social media he was legitimately injured during the bout.

In a short post on Instagram, Tyler Bate announced that he had torn his “…left pectoral major & tendon off the bone”.

“Surgery yesterday was successful and all has been put back where it belongs. I’ll be gone for some time while I recover..”

Bate would follow this up by stating that he had undergone successful surgery on Monday, July 8th, and that he would be out of commission for quite some time.

There is no definitive timeline for how long Bate might be sidelined with his injury. A close comparison would be when WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes suffered a similar injury shortly before WWE Hell In A Cell in late 2022. Rhodes would ultimately miss eight months of action due to the injury.

However, recovery times vary from person to person and can be influenced by numerous factors. In simple terms, it’s impossible to predict a definite timeline for recovery.

From all of us at SEScoops, we wish Tyler Bate a speedy recovery and tons of luck on his journey back to in-ring competition.

WWE trademark name for Pete Dunne & Tyler Bate Tag Team

The newly formed tag team of Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate is on the rise in WWE. Dunne and Bate joined forces on the main roster last month and quickly became tag team title contenders. Ahead of their championship opportunity at WWE Elimination Chamber on February 24, WWE has filed a trademark for their official tag team name.

Dunne and Bate will go by the tag team name New Catch Republic moving forward. The trademark for the same was registered on February 18,

Bate initially revealed the name on the February 16 episode of WWE Friday Night Smackdown. In a backstage interview with Kayla Braxton, Dunne and Bate spoke about their match against The Judgement Day (Finn Balor & Damian Priest) for the WWE Raw and Smackdown Tag Team Championship at WWE Elimination Chamber. After the ‘Bruiserweight’ shared the team’s goal of winning the titles, Bate introduced the New Catch Republic, to which Dunne nodded his approval.

Afterward, Dominick Mysterio interrupted their interview to set up a tag team match alongside JD McDonagh against the New Catch Republic. The match will occur on a taped WWE Friday Night Smackdown episode on February 23. WWE’s decision to have the match is a way to build momentum for the newly formed tag team ahead of their bout against Balor and Priest.

More On The Judgement Day vs. New Catch Republic At WWE Elimination Chamber

The upcoming premium live event presents an excellent opportunity for the New Catch Republic to showcase their skills against the tag team champions. Since becoming a team, Dunne and Bate have impressed WWE fans and added a new level of interest in the tag division.

That said, Balor and Priest are seemingly the favorites to retain their titles at WWE Elimination Chamber. Although the tag titles are set to be defended this Saturday, the company seems to already be teasing R-Truth and The Miz as possible future challengers for Balor and Priest.

The Judgement Day has held the tag championship since the October 16 WWE Monday Night Raw episode last year. Since then, they have only defended their belts four times but have looked dominant everytime they have put the titles on the line.

The new Catch Republic vs. The Judgement Day still has the potential to be one of the best matches at the upcoming premium live event. While they may not win, an excellent showing for Dunne and Bate could garner more fan attention and make WWE consider featuring them more on TV.

Tyler Bate Wants To Airplane Spin Omos At WWE Royal Rumble

WWE superstar Tyler Bate is looking for his big moment at the WWE Royal Rumble this Saturday. Since joining the main roster, Bate has looked impressive, showcasing his strength and technical in-ring ability. However, he plans to have his most ambitious showing on the main roster at the expense of ‘The Nigerian Giant.’

Bate spoke recently with TNT Sports’ Chamatkar Sandhu about being on the WWE Friday Night Smackdown brand and his year-long goals. The former WWE NXT United Kingdom Champion said he wants to win the tag team championships with Pete Dunne and potentially end the Judgement Day’s(Damian Priest & Finn Balor) title reign. He also admitted wanting to showcase his strength in the 2024 Men’s Royal Rumble Match against Omos.

“…We also have the Royal Rumble coming soon, and for the past seven years, I’ve been a part of the WWE, I’ve been saying that I want to get into the Royal Rumble and I want to Airplane Spin the biggest guy in the middle of the ring. So Omos, if you are listening,” said Bate. He added, “…I’ve been saying it and it’s going to happen. It’s going to happen at some point.”

Although Bate wants to compete in this year’s match, WWE has yet to announce if he will be an entrant in the 2024 Men’s Royal Rumble Match.

Tyler Bate’s Status In The The Men’s Royal Rumble Match

Currently, WWE has only advertised seven participants in the men’s match, including CM Punk and Cody Rhodes. For the past few years, the company has shared most of who would be involved in the match before the event. It’s unclear if that has changed, and fans will have to wait to see who makes an appearance.

While there is uncertainty, it’s possible Bate could be one of the other competitors involved in the 2024 Mens Royal Rumble Match. He has been featured since jumping to the main roster, and the company would seemingly want to showcase the former WWE NXT United Kingdom Champion.

For now, fans will have to wait for a full reveal of who will have a chance to main event WWE WrestleMania 40 in April.

Tyler Bate Is Officially On WWE SmackDown Roster After New Year’s Revolution Debut

Tyler Bate made his debut on WWE’s January 5th episode of SmackDown, as he helped Butch pick up an important win against Pretty Deadly. Triple H calls the shots in WWE, and he’s always been a fan of Bate. Now he gets to book him on a much larger stage.

Tyler Bate’s WWE Main Roster Debut

Pretty Deadly was slated to take on Butch on SmackDown, yet Butch lacked a partner. Despite the absence of a designated teammate, the match was scheduled for SmackDown’s New Year’s Revolution episode, offering fans an unexpected twist.

Butch chose Tyler Bate as his partner, marking the NXT Superstar’s first appearance on SmackDown, but it will not be his last. Tyler Bate is now officially a SmackDown Superstar.

After Butch and Tyler Bate picked up a win over Pretty Deadly on SmackDown, the Big Stong Boi made it very clear that he’s on SmackDown for the long haul.

“Finally, it’s been a long time coming, but the Big Strong Boi has finally arrived on SmackDown — and I am here to stay.”

Following his debut on the show, Bate is now featured on the SmackDown roster page on WWE’s website. A video posted on Instagram by WWE features Bate stating that he has made his presence known on SmackDown and intends to remain.

Who is Tyler Bate

Tyler Bate is a wrestler from England who worked in WWE. He became the first WWE United Kingdom Champion in January 2017 at 19 years old. Bate was a proud part of NXT UK, until the brand closed down, which opened the door for his NXT debut.

Tyler Bate’s wrestling style is known for strength and agility, and he’s been part of important matches in WWE. He’s also raked up a ton of accomplishments in WWE so far in his career.

Tyler Bate is a two-time WWE/NXT United Kingdom Champion, he not only claimed the inaugural title but also secured the final one. Bate further solidified his standing by winning the NXT UK Heritage Cup.

While teaming up with Trent Seven, Bate won both the NXT Tag Team Championship and the NXT UK Tag Team Championship. Notably, he holds the distinction of being the first NXT UK Triple Crown Champion as well. He also won the NXT Tag Team Championship Invitational in 2018 with Seven.

Tyler Bate picked up the NXT Year-End Award for Match of the Year in 2017, recognized for his outstanding bout against Pete Dunne for the WWE United Kingdom Championship at NXT TakeOver: Chicago. Now, he is teaming with Dunne, as Butch, on WWE SmackDown.

Tyler Bate is “Here to Stay” After Making WWE SmackDown Debut

Tyler Bate is looking forward to a lengthy future on SmackDown after arriving on the scene during this week’s episode.

The January 5, 2024, episode of SmackDown was the show’s New Year’s Revolution special and was the final show of WWE’s stacked first week of 2024 programming. In the show’s main event, Randy Orton, AJ Styles, and LA Knight competed for a shot at Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns. Thanks to interference from The Bloodline, no winner would be determined, and Nick Aldis’ announcement of a fatal four-way match would infuriate the Tribal Chief

Tyler Bate is Here to Stay

On this week’s SmackDown, Bate made his debut as the mystery tag-team partner of Butch. The pair of former WWE United Kingdom Champions proved to team together seamlessly and got the victory over Pretty Deadly.

In a post-match interview, Bate shared his thoughts on finally making it to the blue brand. The Big Strong Boi also stated that he was here to stay after making his debut.

”Finally, it’s been a long time coming but the big strong boi has finally arrived on SmackDown, and I am here to stay!”

Tyler Bate on The Main Roster

Bate’s arrival this week shouldn’t come as a huge surprise to fans. Last month, it was reported that WWE was considering bringing Bate to the main roster. While Bate is smaller than many on the main roster, his size isn’t considered as big a deal now with Vince McMahon no longer running WWE’s creative department. It is stated that WWE CCO Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque is far more open-minded as to who can be a top star.

WWE Considering NXT’s Tyler Bate For A Main Roster Call-Up

NXT Superstar Tyler Bate could be a main roster Superstar soon enough as a call-up could be in the works.

Bate has been with WWE for some time now, and the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that he could soon be on the main roster. There has been ‘talk’ of calling up the British Superstar, and the report adds that his size isn’t considered as big a deal now with Vince McMahon no longer running WWE’s creative department. It is stated that WWE CCO Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque is far more open-minded as to who can be a top star.

Based on recent programming, Bate could be a SmackDown Superstar if he is called up to the main roster, as that is the current home of Butch. The pair have been both allies and enemies in WWE, and Bate was made an honorary Brawling Brute not too long ago. Butch is certainly in need of an ally right now, as he was recently abandoned by Ridge Holland and was attacked by Pretty Deadly on last week’s SmackDown.

Bate has accomplished plenty in WWE already despite not making it to the main roster. In 2017, Bate became the first WWE United Kingdom Champion (later rechristened the NXT UK Championship). Bate was also the final holder of the title when the title was unified with the WWE NXT Championship at Worlds Collide 2022.

Bate was also the only triple-crown champion in WWE NXT UK, having held the main championship, the NXT UK Tag Team Championships and the NXT UK Heritage Cup. In WWE NXT, he is a former NXT Tag Team Champion.

Multiple WWE Superstars Missing from TV Over Visa Issues (Report)

Fans shouldn’t expect to see the likes of Doudrop, Gallus, and others on WWE programming for the time being due to a series of Visa issues.

In August of last year, WWE closed their NXT UK brand ahead of the launch of NXT Europe this year, and retained only a handful of the NXT UK talent.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer explained why some non-American stars have been missing.

“It’s Visa (issues.) What they’re doing is they went back over visa situations. They got to get the visas taken care of. So there’s a lot of people, a lot of the Gallus boys and Tyler Bate…Piper Niven’s (Doudrop) being gone is another one.

“What’s her name? Is it Davenport? Is that her name? Blair Davenport? What’s her name? The Bea Priestly, her too. But yeah, a lot of them, that’s basically the situation with a lot of them is just getting the visa stuff worked out.”

Visa Issues

It was only a few weeks back that several wrestlers were reported as missing from TV due to problems with their visas.

In November 2022, it was noted that Gallus, JD McDonagh and Ilja Dragunov would be unable to return until these issues were sorted out.

It has been reported that plans for Tyson Fury in WWE are uncertain due to Visa issues and an alleged ban from entering the United States.

Fury is believed to be banned due to allegations of ties to Irish mafia boss Daniel Kinahan, a claim the boxing star has vehemently denied.

Multiple NXT UK Stars Show Up At NXT 2.0

There have been speculations about the future of the NXT UK stars recently. It now appears that NXT 2.0 is going to be their new home for the time being.

The development brand presented the Heatwave special this week. What’s notable is that multiple NXT UK stars made their presence felt during the show.

First The Diamond Mine was attacked by longtime UK stable Gallus. The group was arguing that Roderick Strong wanted to end the faction in a segment.

This came after Diamond Mine was defeated by Tony D’Angelo and others during the July 26 episode of the show. Strong cost them the match after he accidentally hit his own team member Julius Creed.

After attacking the NXT faction, the group of Wolfgang, Joe Coffey, and Mark Coffey went to the back. They confronted the current NXT UK tag team champions Josh Briggs & Brooks Jensen and challenged them for the title match next week.

Though these three weren’t the only UK stars to show up on the show. The main event of the episode saw Bron Breakker successfully defending his NXT Championship against JD McDonagh.

After the bout, the NXT UK champion Tyler Bate came to the ring and confronted Baker. Both the stars held up their belts high as the episode went off air.

Bate won the vacant NXT UK championship during a match taped on July 7. However, the bout is yet to air and he isn’t officially recognized as the champion as of now.

Tyler Bate Reportedly Dealing With An Injury

It appears as though NXT UK Superstar Tyler Bate is dealing with an injury. The Moustache Mountain member was set to perform at an upcoming OTT Wrestling event this Sunday. However, the promotion took to social media to reveal that Bate unfortunately not be present at their Dead On event.

“Due to recent injury, Tyler Bate will no long appear at #DeadOn. This is unavoidable in wrestling, Apologies #OTT.”

Bate and his tag team partner Trent Seven were scheduled to defend the OTT Tag Team Championships against The True Pros.

Tyler Bate On NXT UK

At the time of writing, there are no further details as to what kind of injury Bate is dealing with. He and Seven last appeared on WWE programming on January 25th. They appeared on WWE Worlds Collide, where they lost a matchup to DIY. They also appeared on the WWE Watch Along stream for Royal Rumble. His tag team partner, Seven, would go on to wrestle against Finn Balor on NXT later that same week.

Although Tyler Bate appeared on last night’s episode of NXT UK, it’s worth noting that the episode was pre-recorded in January. The match saw him face off against Joseph Connors. Bate has not yet commented on or addressed the injury reports.

Tyler Bate Discusses Walter Ahead Of TakeOver: Cardiff, Whether He Would Jump To NXT

NXT UK Superstar Tyler Bate recently sat down with The Sun ahead of this Saturday’s NXT UK TakeOver: Cardiff event. He will be competing against Walter for the promotion’s WWE United Kingdom Championship.

During the interview, Bate discussed the possibility of jumping from NXT UK to NXT. He also addressed the idea of a brand versus brand show that would pit NXT UK Superstars against their U.S. counterparts.

He admitted that, despite Pete Dunne’s current run in NXT, as long as there are new experiences for Bate in NXT UK, he doesn’t see himself jumping brands any time soon.

“Pete seems to be enjoying himself, and it’s something new for him to experience in his career. He’s enjoying it,” Bate said. “As far as I’m aware, there are no plans for me to be going anywhere any time soon. I’m quite enjoying my time here in NXT UK, and my goal is to keep things fresh and interesting. I like to try new things and go to new places, and if I can do that in NXT UK then I’m fine staying here – but there’ nothing planned as far as I’m aware for me to go anywhere soon.”

Bate admitted to being intrigued by the idea of an NXT super show, saying he would be “super up for that” if the opportunity arose. “It sounds like it would be a hell of a show for the fans to watch,” he added. “You never know.”

TakeOver: Cardiff

Addressing his opponent on Saturday, Bate is fully aware of the monumental challenge ahead of him:

“All I can do is try my very best. I’m a big believer in fate, and if it’s not supposed to be me that stops him, then I’m sure there’s somebody else down the line who could do it. […] But I will be putting on the very best performance that I can.”

WWE NXT UK TakeOver: Cardiff takes place this Saturday, August 31st from the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff, Wales.

First Ever NXT UK Tag Team Champions Crowned

NXT UK’s first ever Takeover event is currently underway. The first bout of the night saw the crowning of the first ever NXT United Kingdom Tag Team Champions. Moustache Mountain (Tyler Bate and Trent Seven) faced the Grizzled Young Veterans (Zack Gibson and James Drake) to determine the inaugural Champions.

The rampant crowd in Blackpool were firmly behind Bate and Seven. The Grizzled Young Veterans (Gibson especially) are the most hated Superstars on the UK scene right now and it made for an electric match.

The Grizzled Young Veterans took the win after hitting their tandem Ticket To Mayhem move on Trent Seven. This came after Drake hit a huge middle rope suicide dive to Bate who was on Gibson’s shoulders. Seven attempted his own suicide dive but Drake cut him off with a dropkick in mid air.

Backstage after the win, Triple H congratulated Drake and Gibson on making history.

Check out this video of Zack Gibson and James Drake reacting to their big win:

British Strong Style Confirms WWE NXT UK Performance Center (Video)

With their ultimate intent being to create developmental systems worldwide that can then feed into their main roster programming, WWE have continued their global expansion efforts, launching new iterations of their NXT brand globally. The first of these was WWE NXT UK.

One thing these international versions lacked compared to Florida, however, was an equivalent to their beautiful state-of-the-art Performance Center.

This morning on British morning television, the WWE NXT UK team of British Strong Style (NXT UK Champion, Pete Dunne, Tyler Bate, Trent Seven) appeared on the show, Good Morning Britain, and officially announced that the UK now has one to call their own.

The trio was there in order to speak about this Saturday’s upcoming NXT UK Takeover: Blackpool event.
When speaking on the upcoming show, one of GMB’s hosts likened WWE’s UK effort as a set-up “training camp” for the UK. Seven then divulged that NXT UK now has their own PC, stating, “[…] we’re going to be able to go straight from here to our secret location, our new NXT UK Performance Center just after this.”

“The fact that we get to go back, the fact that we’ve had this investment, […] it’s pretty exciting,” Seven said.

You can watch the video in the tweet below, which has already been re-tweeted by Triple H.

AJ Styles Believes He And Tyler Bate Would Have An “Unbelievable” Match

The Phenomenal One, AJ Styles, only recently defended his SmackDown WWE Championship against Samoa Joe at the recent Super Show-Down in Australia. He now has new number one contender, Daniel Bryan, eagerly awaiting his opportunity at WWE Crown Jewel on November 2nd.

That hasn’t stopped the champ from surveying the rest of the WWE roster.

Inaugural WWE United Kingdom champion, and Big Strong Boy, Tyler Bate, recently spoke on facing AJ Styles, stating matter of factly that he believes he could “have a good one [match] with AJ.”

A Phenomenal Response

Word of this has reached Styles, and his reaction is a positive one. Speaking with DailyStar.co.uk, the WWE Champion said:

“If the opportunity presents itself, I think that him and I could have an unbelievable match.”

Tyler Bate has been making waves internationally – not only as a tag team competitor in Moustache Mountain but also as a worldwide singles competitor.

He recently headlined PROGRESS wrestling’s main event at their ‘Hello Wembley!’ event in a losing effort against PROGRESS champion, WALTER.

The two men have never met in singles competition before, but have found themselves on opposite sides of the ring on in a six-man tag bout for Chikara.

Inaugural WWE United Kingdom Champion Tyler Bate recently took part in an interview ahead of PROGRESS #HelloWembley. The UK star will be challenging WALTER for the PROGRESS World Championship in the main event of the show.

Bate same some interesting comments during an interview with PROGRESS co-owner Glen Joseph on the upcoming title match. Tyler stated that “I could easily outlast WALTER. What does he do? He throws a bunch of chops, I can take chops WALTER can chop me all day long to the point that I’ve got blood trickling down to my toes, I don’t care. It means that much to me. I’m gonna be running circles around WALTER. Not only am I gonna be running circles around WALTER but I’m gonna be throwing him corner to corner. I’m going to make him look like a novice in that ring. I’m gonna make him look like a child.”

This appears to be in response to some comments that WALTER made earlier this month. Speaking to DailyStar.co.uk, WALTER had some firm words for his opponent:

Tyler is a phenomenal athlete and pro wrestler. He is only 21-years-old and we all can only imagine what the future will have in store for him,” he praised, before pressing on. “I also respect his high ‘Pro Wrestling IQ.’ That being said, even though he is more mature than his age in the ring, I don’t think he is outside of it.”

Main Event for PROGRESS ‘Hello Wembley’ Confirmed

PROGRESS has now made the Wembley Arena main event official. Inaugural WWE United Kingdom Champion Tyler Bate will challenge PROGRESS World Champion WALTER for the coveted title.

  • Eddie Dennis vs Mark Andrews
  • Jimmy Havoc vs Paul Robinson

Tyler Bate Likes To Think He Is WWE’s Strongest Man

NXT’s Mustache Mountain, Tyler Bate and Trent Seven, recently spoke to The Mirror. Bate has shown amazing feats of strength inside the ring at times. He says he likes to think he is WWE’s strongest man:

“I like to think I’m the strongest man in WWE. It’s why I call myself the Big Strong Boi.”

Recently, WWE introduced an NXT UK Women’s Championship. Spoilers on that here. Bate said he thinks it’s a great opportunity for the women of NXT UK to show what they got:

“It’s a great opportunity for all of the women in the company to show the world what they’re made of and show everybody how good they are. I’m looking forward to everybody else getting to watch them perform and I’m sure they will do a great job.”

Quite The Comparison

At NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn 4 Mustache Mountain failed to capture the NXT Tag Team Titles. The Undisputed Era defeated them to retain their titles. On the TakeOver panel, Pat McAfee compared Mustache Mountain to the British Bulldogs (Davey Boy Smith and Dynamite Kid).

Trent Seven said it was very complimentary to receive such a comparison:

“Yeah, well he was very complimentary. It does make you think about just what kind of impact we can have as regards being UK and British wrestlers, having the chance to travel abroad and overseas, being able to wrestle on that stage, it’s a burden I’m more than happy to have.”

Bate sympathized with his partner’s sentiment, and believes they can live up to the pressure of such a comparison:

“Yeah it’s a lot of pressure to be compared to teams like the Bulldogs and I think Mustache Mountain can really live up to that pressure.”

Seven agreed, saying he believes it’s that kind of pressure that pushes talents to the next level:

“I agree, I think it’s that kind of pressure that really pushes people on to the next level. Our goal is to continue climbing the ladder of WWE and eventually get on the main roster but for now, let’s just keep building the brand of NXT UK.”
