WWE has added the latest sit-down interview between Triple H and Michael Cole to their official YouTube channel.
WWE COO Triple H addresses Randy Orton’s attack on John Cena’s father, The New Age Outlaws walking out on CM Punk, the decision to induct The Ultimate Warrior in the WWE Hall of Fame, Batista’s looming return and WWE Network.”
TMZ.com caught up with Hulk Hogan this week and asked him about the news of The Ultimate Warrior being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
After their much-publicized personal rivalry, Hogan appears to have buried the hatchet and said “He’s a good choice for the Hall of Fame.” Hogan added, “He’s a good man.”
Back in the summer of 2011, after Hulk Hogan had been running down the Ultimate Warrior in a series of interviews, Warrior unleashed his 55-minute “Karma Collects” video on Youtube, accusing Hogan of being an avid user of cocaine and marijuana, keeping other wrestlers hooked on drugs to hold them down, having an ‘open marriage’ with his ex-wife Linda, offering his wife’s ‘services’ to other wrestlers back in the day and being a disgraceful parent (among other things).
2014 WWE Hall of Fame Inductee The Ultimate Warrior was recently interviewed by Sports Illustrated’s Extra Mustard blog. Hare are some highlights:
How much of an impact did headlining WrestleMania have on your career?
“Back at the beginning of my career, I had to make all these sacrifices—sleeping in a car on nights where I’d wrestle in front of 20,000 people—because I wasn’t making any money. Then for two years leading up to WrestleMania, I would hear all the background chatter of how popular the character was becoming. Merchandising and licensing are huge in our business, and back then they actually had a guy, Jimmy, who would set up a table and sell merch before the matches. One day Jimmy took me aside and told me how I wasselling more merchandise than Hogan. “Don’t tell anyone I told you this,” he said. [Laughs]
At that time the typical storyline for WrestleMania was that one of Hogan’s friends would turn on him and set up a good guy-vs-bad guy scenario. But if WWE had done that with Ultimate Warrior, they would have been slicing their wrists, because merchandising was getting ready to go through the roof. So instead it became the Hulkamaniacs versus the Warriors. It was an incredible match—all the excitement, all the drama of the false finishes, and then the first time Hogan lost clean, and that really meant something. Of course, everything is choreographed, but that speaks even more strongly about what type of impact The Ultimate Warrior was going to have on the business.”
Is that your favorite match of your career?
“I have a lot of great memories, including my match against Randy [Savage] in WrestleMania VII. A lot of people say they enjoyed that more than the Hogan match. The Hogan match had so much meaning that it’s impossible not to list among my favorites, but I had all kinds of incredible matches against guys like Rick Rude and André the Giant. I had an incredible run against André all over the world, body slamming him.”
Man, André the Giant. What was he like?
“André either really cared about you, or he hated you. He liked me, I know he really did. Randy worked with him right before I did, but they killed that program because André didn’t like Randy. But André liked me. Hogan always talks about slamming him the one time at WrestleMania, but I travelled to hundreds of places and slammed André all over the place, and I just couldn’t believe that he’d let me do that. I was the last guy to really work with André before he passed away, and he was unbelievably gracious toward me. I’ll never forget what he did for my character. During one match at Madison Square Garden he told me to put him in a bear hug. So I did, and he squealed like a f—ing pig, man. That’s how you sell the power, and he did that for me to convince the people that The Ultimate Warrior was that powerful. Then he told me to slam him. He was a really great guy.”
It’s incredible that Sting is still wrestling. Do you think you still have one big match left in you? Maybe a Royal Rumble run out?
“The 90s version of The Ultimate Warrior, that beast? No. [Laughs] But I’m still very intense, I’m still in great shape, and the way the business is today, I think something could be arranged. But that 90s version of The Ultimate Warrior can’t be done. He’s my muse. I wake up every morning and I’m inspired by him, but trying to go back and bring him back 25 years later, there’s just no way.”
WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has updated his blog, which you can read in its entirety at JRsBarBQ.com. Here are some highlights of what he said about:
Monday’s RAW: “Enjoyed Monday Night RAW from Providence as it had several moments that stood out to me within the marathon, three hour broadcast. Thought that having more in ring product and keeping the stars in front of the live audience was a good thing. The show had a great deal of wrestling which I like. Obviously , some of the in ring content was better than others but that’s nothing new.”
Ultimate Warrior In The WWE Hall of Fame: “The Warrior package was slick as no one really touches WWE TV production on matters such as this. The decision to roll Warrior out first for the upcoming Hall of Fame class was strategic as it certainly has fans talking … The Ultimate Warrior was one of WWE’s all time most polarizing performers who was a massive star while being one of the most unique TV personas ever in WWE.”
Daniel Bryan Turning On Bray Wyatt: “The show closing moments involving Daniel Bryan and Bray Wyatt was reminiscent of the Attitude Era as it relates to raw passion and the fans totally buying into the production. I said it last night on Twitter @JRsBBQ that Daniel Bryan was the hottest commodity in WWE today….by far. The connection that he’s made with the audience, which more often than not, can’t be manufactured is priceless.
Daniel Bryan sitting on top of the cage and the sold out crowd chanting Yes! Yes! Yes! was Austin-esque in my eyes. The closing moments of RAW is what one always looks to achieve when formatting a TV show. That special moment that becomes a ‘moment.’
Daniel Bryan is a legit bookers dream. Highly skilled and can make anyone that he competes with appear better, no locker room issues or bad, personal habits and he’s respectful and reliable. The perfect pro. Good role model for any young talent wanting to succeed.”
– Paul Heyman’s Heyman Hustle site has released the first teaser video for the upcoming WWE DVD on Heyman’s career.
Jim Ross revealed over the weekend that he will be working with WWE on the project:
“Been asked by WWE to be a part of the upcoming Paul Heyman DVD of which I’m anxious to participate. Once details are worked out we will schedule a time for me to head to WWE HQ and tell a few…dozen Heyman stories.”
– CM Punk tweeted the following about WWE’s announcement that The Ultimate Warrior is being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame:
.@UltimateWarrior in the hall of fame. Overdue. Randy Savage next please.
THE ULTIMATE WARRIOR™ TO BE INDUCTED INTO THE WWE® HALL OF FAME
STAMFORD, Conn., January 13, 2014 – WWE (NYSE:WWE) announced today that The Ultimate Warrior will return to WWE after an 18 year absence and be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame at a ceremony on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at New Orleans Arena, as a part of the WrestleMania® 30 festivities.
“The Ultimate Warrior was the most intense, colorful, competitive and outspoken Superstar in sports entertainment history, and his contributions to WWE were extraordinary,” said WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon. “We are thrilled to induct The Ultimate Warrior into the WWE Hall of Fame.”
The Ultimate Warrior was one of the most iconic and exciting Superstars in WWE history. When the distinctive ring entrance music of Warrior hit, he would burst out of the dressing room and sprint towards the ring, causing a frenzy of excitement amongst WWE fans. Inside the squared circle, Warrior was responsible for many of the most memorable moments in WWE history.
In 1988 at the inaugural SummerSlam®, he defeated the Honkytonk Man™ in record time to win his first of two Intercontinental Championships. In 1990, Warrior defeated Hulk Hogan™ to become WWE Champion at WrestleMania® VI in one of the most exciting matches in WrestleMania history. Warrior would continue to captivate audiences around the world with epic encounters against WWE Legends such as Undertaker® and Randy Savage™. After a storied career that also saw him compete in WCW®, Warrior stepped away from the ring in 1998. Last year, he was featured in the WWE 2K14 video game as a downloadable character, giving the next generation of WWE fans a chance to “feel the power of the Ultimate Warrior.”

– There is a cage reportedly hanging above the ring at the arena in Providence, Rhode Island, the site of tonight’s live WWE RAW show. With the cage being set up for use, one would expect a cage match of some sort on tonight’s show.
– Earlier today, WWE announced that tickets for the 2014 WWE Hall of Fame Ceremony from New Orleans go on sale this Saturday. To kickoff the ticket release, WWE is expected to announce the first inductee for the Class of 2014 tonight on RAW. Our friends at WrestleZone.com are reporting that the announcement will most likely be none other than the Ultimate Warrior.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, legendary pro wrestler The Ultimate Warrior and WWE have officially reached a business agreement.
The report indicates that the deal is likely for the 2014 WWE Hall Of Fame, however that is still unconfirmed at this point. The only thing for sure is that there is an existing business relationship with Warrior and WWE, and it will likely lead to something happening involving Warrior at WrestleMania XXX weekend.
As noted, WWE plans to release an Ultimate Warrior DVD as WrestleMania XXX approaches.
– With WrestleMania XXX just 3 months away, WWE has still not finalized who will be challenging the Undertaker’s streak this year. Brock Lesnar has long been the front runner to face the Dead Man, however, there is one big obstacle that might prevent the match from happening.
Not many people know this, but over the past few years, The Undertaker has rehearsed his WrestleMania matches with his opponents. Shawn Michaels, Triple H and CM Punk have all spend considerable time with the Undertaker planning out their matches in the weeks leading up to their matches at WrestleMania. Due to the nature of Brock Lesnar’s WWE contract, he is only required to travel a certain number of times per year for WWE. Training with The Undertaker to prepare for a WrestleMania match would exceed the terms of his agreement with WWE.
It’s possible WWE could negotiate with Lesnar and convince him to do what’s necessary to make The Undertaker comfortable with a match – but this is the reason John Cena and Daniel Bryan are still being considered as his possible opponents this year.
– WWE legend the Ultimate Warrior in currently talks with Vince McMahon about a WWE Hall of Fame induction and an appearance at WrestleMania XXX. Warrior is speaking strictly with Vince, having no contact with Triple H or anybody else in the company.
As previously reported, WWE will be releasing a new Ultimate Warrior DVD the week of WrestleMania, so a few TV appearances in April would help with the promotion of that project.
WWE will be releasing a new DVD/Blu-Ray on the career of the Ultimate Warrior on Tuesday, April 1st, 2014.
Aside from a collection of the Warrior’s most memorable matches, the project will also feature “documentary style interviews with Ultimate Warrior” and new interviews with other wrestlers of the era. With Warrior rumored to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year, the timing of the new DVD looks like another indication that Warrior could be a part of the event after all.
Here’s the official synopsis, courtesy of WWEDVDNews.com:

– People who are considered to be “in the know,” who were aware of Chris Jericho’s previous WWE returns, say they have heard nothing about Jericho returning any time in the near future. Basically, Jericho seems to be telling the truth when he says he has no plans to return to the company at any point in the forseeable future.
– WWE legend The Ultimate Warrior is expected to have some type of role at WrestleMania XXX. Many expect Warrior’s role to be an induction into the WWE Hall Of Fame.
The Ultimate Warrior issued the following statement regarding reports of him demanding 30% of any Warrior merchandise sold on eBay:
“The story regarding Ultimate Warrior merchandise that has been reported on wrestling news sites today is inaccurate.
“Warrior Entertainment have at no point demanded royalties which would allow sellers to continue producing unlicensed goods.
“Without exception, all counterfeit merchandise bearing Ultimate Warrior intellectual property will be removed without warning from all auctions sites, websites or similar.”
The Ultimate Warrior himself posted a message in our Comments section on the article about the story, which was also e-mailed to us, stating:
“Recent stories about Warrior attempting to swindle 30% royalties from eBayers auctioning Ultimate Warrior items are ridiculously inaccurate. The actual royalty demand is 110%, 100% of money made from the sale plus a 10% service fee for handling the hassle of informing others of their no-nos.
“Sorry, but ALL unlicensed goods and ALL counterfeit merchandise using the Ultimate Warrior Intellectual Property will be removed without warning from all auctions sites, websites or similar.
“It’s MY gimmick. I OWN it. If you want one, do the work it takes to create one for yourself.

– The following is the official synopsis for the previously reported Ultimate Warrior DVD that WWE will be releasing in April of 2014:
“He is one of the most colourful and intense Superstars of all time, the Ultimate Warrior! Now for the first time ever, WWE honors his illustrious career with this ultimate collection of bone-crunching matches. Feel the power of the warrior – featuring battles against his biggest rivals such as Hulk Hogan, Jake Roberts, Ravishing Ric Rude, Sgt. Slaughter and more!
WWE fans have long awaited another Warrior DVD since the controversial release of 2005?s ‘Self Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior’. Finally, with over 7 hours of matches from this larger than life Superstar, this action on this home entertainment release is truly OUT OF CONTROL!!”
– WrestlingDVDNews.com reports that a new WWE DVD projects is in the works for the Ultimate Warrior. Currently slated for an April release, the currently untitled project will be a 3 DVD / 2 Blu-Ray collection. No word yet on whether Warrior will be interviewed for it, but after his meeting with Vince McMahon during SummerSlam weekend and his involvement with the WWE 2K14 video game campaign, it’s certainly possible.
This will be WWE’s second Ultimate Warrior DVD release, following 2005’s controversial “Self Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior” – which led to a lawsuit.
Considering the timing of the project, it seems that Ultimate Warrior being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame could in fact take place next year.
– WWE has published a video showing how the 2013 WWE TLC pay-per-view poster was created:
“WWE Universe member, BlackHeron’s rendition of the WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders, and Chairs poster art!”
WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has updated his blog, which you can read in its entirety at JRsBarBQ.com. Here are some highlights of what he said about:
His One Man Show: “Monday, Live Nation is scheduled to send out a press release regarding all the info one will need to know on my first, one man show coming to New York City in March of 2014. Tickets will go on sale in a few days for this event that has special significance to me.”
Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania XXX: “Seems as if the topic of one of my blogs a few weeks ago is beginning to pick up steam. I suggested that I’d personally like to see Hulk Hogan be a part of WM30 in New Orleans but I never implied that I wanted to see Hogan in a match. I don’t. I do think that Hulk can add viable cache to the landmark event and timing seems to be favorable to do so as it relates to his business obligations.”
Warrior/Savage In WWE HOF: “If Savage and/or Warrior were to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, Hulk would fit perfectly in that process.”
Goldberg At WrestleMania XXX: “I have no idea if Bill Goldberg wold return to WWE for a special, WM30 appearance but it would seem that it will now or never simply based on my fellow Oklahoman’s age and time away from the ring. I think WWE will need to import some alumni to give WM30 the sizzle that it’s going to require for the 30th addition of their biggest event of the year.”
Promoting the release of WWE 2K14, Ultimate Warrior addressed a series of WWE-related topics in an interview with DigitalSpy.com, including the possibility of being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
“The simple answer is they’ve got to tell the right story. That’s a possibility. Being in the Hall of Fame – Ultimate Warrior being inducted into the Hall of Fame, or me standing there at the Hall of Fame participating in it – is not going to mean anything to my goals in my life and the kind of quality of life I’m going to have, what kind of things I’m going to do, how productive I’m going to be as I move on throughout my life,” remarked Warrior.
“I only get this one life, so I’m not going to sit in my own pile of poop and feel sorry that I’m not in the Hall of Fame. The Ultimate Warrior character relative to professional wrestling or WWE, he’s definitely a Hall of Famer. He’s a Hall of Famer whether he gets into the Hall of Fame or not.”
Warrior does not watch WWE programming, but says with the internet, “it’s impossible not to be aware of some of the top talent.” The former WWE Champion, however, reiterates that he will not return to the ring to face a premiere WWE Superstar.
“I’m one of the first guys in recent years that’s gone on the record and said to all my colleagues that were in the business at the same time I was that it’s time to pack your f**king gear bag and go home. Let the other guys have their chance and get your nose out of their business,” remarked Warrior.
“People will say Ryback – ‘What would Warrior have been like with Ryback?’ Or Goldberg. I know why they say those things – because of the intensity and body look, the aggression, the power. Those kind of matches tend to be f**king stinkers, you know? You want to work with somebody who’s got a different style. Wrestling is more than just being big.”
“Even when I was on the road and we traveled all over the world, I met so many big, huge guys, great-looking guys, guys that looked like they were carved out of stone. They thought that they could be in the business if they were just given a chance or devoted some time to doing it or learnt the basic moves. It takes much more than that. It takes more than a body or a physique to make it happen.”
Warrior says his toughest opponent was former rival “Macho Man” Randy Savage: “The toughest for me was the one that brought the best out of me, out of my character. That’s different from ‘Who’s the toughest guy, who’s the most badass opponent I ever faced?’.
“The toughest opponent for me would have been Randy Savage, the Macho Man, because his intensity paralleled mine. He became totally caught up in his character, which was a requisite to success in the business at the time.”
Warrior also weighs in on his creative promos and his legacy. The full interview is available here.
– While promoting last night’s Raw in Greenville, South Carolina, on FOX Carolina 21, The Miz showed off his imitation of fellow former WWE Champion Ultimate Warrior. Footage of his impersonation, featuring grunting and snorting noises, is available here
Also during the interview, The Miz said his life “has been really horrible lately” due to the beatings he’s suffered from Randy Orton, Big Show, Kane and The Wyatt Family.
– It was reported this week that former WWE and TNA Wrestling competitor Orlando Jordan recently got married in Australia, where he currently resides. In response to the numerous congratulatory messages he has received, Jordan issued a statement on Twitter.
“Look but don’t see&hear but don’t Listen my sexuality is & always will B the same! I luv my beautiful wife!#luv&Bstrong!” wrote Jordan. “Thanks for the congrats from all of you! Very happy! #Luv&Bstrong!”
– The official WWE website has issued a poll asking fans which of the following wrestlers was the most impressive on Raw: Big E Langston, Tyson Kidd or Luke Harper.
On his proudest moment: “Everybody know nobody beat Mr. Bob Backlund until Iron Sheik come to the most famous arena in the world Madison Square Garden. I do my camel clutch and I almost break his neck and I become champion. My manager, God bless him, Mr. Fred Blassie, he know I make it that night.”
On Hogan potentially returning to WWE and the fact that Hogan is still such a big part of the business: “Hulk Hogan guitar player. He not Iron Sheik. Everybody know they never be the Hulkamania without Iron Sheik. I was biggest heel in the world and I put him over. He know I could break his leg and bring the belt to Minnesota but I never cut the hand that feed me. Mr McMahon Sr., he know I am the real and he always help me become the legend and still to this day I respect my company WWE.”
On Ultimate Warrior potentially being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame: “Ultimate Warrior is a low life, piece of shit, freak no good mother——. He make hall of fame for biggest piece of shit hall of fame. He never be in my class. None of the boys respect him because he never treat people in the ring with the respect. I think he is a punk. I think he is jabroni and he can go f— himself forever.”
On whether he thought the WrestleMania gimmick battle royal would have staying power: “You know, I always come back to WWE and they know I am the real legend. I not the Hillbilly Jim or the jabroni Bushwhacker. I come and I show that I tough man, still for my age I look good.”
On how he initially felt when wrestling was removed from the Olympic program, and his reaction now that it has been reinstated: “I very very happy. The Chael Sonnen my good friend and the legend we work very very hard to let the wrestling in the Olympic again. They let the jabroni sport like the javelin or the walking become sport and I think they big time jabroni sports. They know oldest sport in the world is the wrestling. They know I always be ready to shop my heart for my sport. I happy, bubba.”
On being a member of both the WWE and NWA Hall of Fame and which accomplishment he holds more precious: WWE or WWF give me everything I have from my wrestling day. Mr McMahon is like the emperor or the Rome. He help me become the legend. NWA, still I love, but still not like the WWE.

– WWE is already discussing possible inductees for the 2014 WWE Hall of Fame class. One big name that’s been rumored all year is the Ultimate Warrior.
Warrior and WWE are currently on good terms, with Warrior being a part of the new WWE 2K14 video game and WWE CEO Vince McMahon personally welcoming Warrior back to the WWE Universe over the summer. Warrior and Vince met face to face in Los Angeles during SummerSlam weekend and we could see Warrior return to WWE TV next year for the first time since 1996.
DeGeneration-X is also being considered for a Hall of Fame induction. DX was rumored for last year’s Hall of Fame class, but the decision was made to hold off on those plans after WWE locked in Bruno Sammartino.
– There has been a lot of talk within WWE about Daniel Bryan winning the 2014 Royal Rumble match.
The following are highlights from a recent interview with WWE Hall Of Famer Booker T:
On WrestleMania compared to other events: “WrestleMania is the biggest deal of them all [major sporting events.] I mean its the spectacle of a lifetime. If you ever have the chance to be a part of it. I mean you guys got to experience the SuperBowl and now you’re going to be able to experience WrestleMania. It’s going to be awesome. Compared [to the SuperBowl] as far as what’s the biggest. Let me tell you WrestleMania is the biggest spectacle that I’ve ever seen and been a part of.”
On the new WWE Performance Center: “I haven’t had a chance to get there as often as I need to. I have my own facility in Houston. I’m trying to filter the wrestling business. You know, more and more students are trying to get it from all different perspectives. But I’ll tell you the training center is something that we’ve needed for quite some time just so the avid fan always wonders ‘How do I get into this business?’ And for us to promote it! Now, we have our own form of something that you can come down and be a part of, try to get into this business. You know there are a lot of kids out there that I feel like we might be losing. We need to advertise a little more and show these guys that you can have a great career in professional wrestling, and the longevity is great as well.”
On The Ultimate Warrior in the WWE Hall Of Fame: “Everybody’s wondering if the Ultimate Warrior is going to go in [the Hall of Fame,] that’s one thing… Ultimate Warrior is probably the one guy that people have been wondering for many, many years, just like Bruno Sammartino. It would be great to take his place in immortality. He deserves it. Hew was great for what he did for the time in wrestling… Back in the day, those guys really were trailblazers, they were one of the reasons that I wanted to be one of those guys.”
On his prediction for the WrestleMania 40 main event: “Dean Ambrose versus Dolph Ziggler.”
-The arena where WWE SmackDown and WWE Main Event was taped on Tuesday night in Ottawa was reportedly heavily papered. According to live fan reports, the entire camera side, as well as the upper deck, were covered for television due to the seats being empty.
-Prior to the start of the WWE television tapings, a WrestleMania 29 video package aired, where apparently not only John Cena, but The Rock, were heavily booed by the Canadian fans in attendance.
-And finally, prior to the beginning of the tapings, a WWE 2K14 video game promo featuring WWE legend The Ultimate Warrior aired, where he reportedly received a massive pop from the crowd.
