Backstage Update On Undertaker Possibly Being Inducted Into WWE Hall Of Fame In 2015

WWE officially reportedly want The Undertaker to be inducted into the 2015 WWE Hall Of Fame, if he chooses not to wrestle at the WrestleMania 31 event that weekend.

As noted in the past, if Undertaker does decide to work a match at WrestleMania, WWE officials want it to be with Bray Wyatt.

A potential Hall of Fame induction if he doesn’t wrestle, guaranteeing him as part of “WrestleMania weekend” either way, is likely the reason WWE has been advertising Undertaker in the WrestleMania promotional materials, such as the tour buses and production trucks.

    – WWE executives have been planning on making the announcement that NXT star Corey Graves was going to be retiring from in-ring competition and moving to his new announcer role since the summer.

    – WWE officials are said to be afraid of hurting Bray Wyatt by having him lose to Dean Ambrose in their series of matches recently. The plan is to keep Wyatt strong in case the rumored match with The Undertaker at WrestleMania 31 comes to fruition.

Jim Ross Q&A: Roman Reigns Heel Turn, Undertaker’s Personal Life, Naomi’s Push

The following are highlights of a recent online Q&A update by WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross:

On Naomi’s WWE push getting cooled off: “You’re right in that I have no idea nor am I concerned about Naomi as she’s got too much talent for me to worry about her future. Let’s not over think it so, in other worlds, just wait and see what develops.”

On Michelle McCool revealing details about Undertaker’s life and if he will ever wrestle again: “Sorry but I have not kept up with it nor do I know Taker’s thoughts on the business. I also don’t know if he’s going to wrestle again. I’m happy that they keep their personal life private. No one deserves to know what they do in their private time or if Taker’s coming back to the ring.”

On if all of the independent wrestling promotions should work together: “It would be great for all if they would only trust each other and be willing to compromise. That, however, is iffy.”

On the reason Brakkus didn’t last long in WWE: “Jacked up body builder type with a marketable accent and look but no natural skills for the WWE level of pro wrestling IMO. He lacked the aptitude unfortunately.”

On if turning Roman Reigns heel would help him become a legitimate main eventer: “I’m giving Reigns the time that he has to get ready if the main event at WM31 is indeed in his future of which I don’t know. Nothing I’m worrying about in December for an April event.”

  • * WWE Doubting ROMAN REIGNS Is The Next Big Thing — New Plans For WrestleMania 31
  • Backstage Update On Plans For Undertaker vs. Bray Wyatt At WrestleMania 31

As noted last week, if The Undertaker is able and willing to work a match at WrestleMania 31, WWE wants it to be against Bray Wyatt.

Since then, a recent photo of The Undertaker looking extremely old has surfaced online, one that if you saw it, would lead you to believe that there’s no way he will be wrestling in March. The photo is believed to have been taken at a gate in an airport.

As far as WrestleMania 31 is concerned, whether Undertaker is able to do the Wyatt match or not, it’s said that WWE wants him to at least be a part of the show, as he is under what is believed to be a one-million dollar per-year deal with the company.

Undertaker vs. Bray Wyatt In The Works For WrestleMania 31, HOF Induction As Well?

As noted recently, WWE painted up some of their giant WrestleMania 31-promotional tour buses with The Undertaker, which is said to be considered a strong sign that he will be working the show in some form.

As of right now, the booking plan is to have The Undertaker vs. Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania, as long as Undertaker gives word that he is willing to wrestle, which he has not done yet.

There’s also a chance that he will be inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame next year, if he is indeed done with his in-ring career, although there has been talk for years that he would retire at Cowboys Stadium — which is the site of WrestleMania 32 — since it will likely set the all-time attendance record.

Regardless, expect Undertaker involved in some form or fashion during WrestleMania 31 weekend, as he is under a seven-figure downside guarantee contract, and WWE wants to justify the deal.

  • Jim Ross On CM Punk’s Situation, His Issues With Ryback, WrestleMania Pay & More

The following are highlights of a new Busted Open Radio interview with WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross:

CM Punk’s Money Issues With WWE:

“It was nothing I haven’t heard before as head of talent relations. There was a guy named Stone Cold, you might remember him who was gone for 8 months. He was angry over creative and money; he had a lot of negative things going on in his life and he needed a break, but he didn’t know how to create that break and we didn’t either; and it blew up. He went home and I remember sitting in my office. I sent him a card that said, “If you ever need to talk, I’m here for you.” He wasn’t going to call WWE; so he calls me, and I broker a meeting with Steve and Vince in Houston. And both of them wanted me to come to the meeting and I refused, because it needed to be the two of them, unfiltered and express themselves without an audience, I didn’t need to be there so I didn’t go. But they talked it out, they talked it through, and saw each other’s point of views, and Steve came back, made the company a lot of money, and WWE made good money and had a good ending except for a mother nature and the injuries.”

“The whole CM Punk situation is a lot of miscommunication. It should have been addressed earlier. You can’t read a talents mind to see if they’re upset. WWE has a lot on their plate. And I don’t think it’s anyone’s fault, but at the end of the day the whole thing should have been addressed earlier, rather than be left as an open wound. I’m a CM Punk Wrestling Fan. I like Phil Brooks the guy. I haven’t talked to him one time, but he might put me as a “Wrestling Guy” although I’m more than a wrestling guy. I don’t wish him ill will and I’m not taking up for WWE. I’m not taking up for Phil. It’s just very unfortunate because they both needed each other in the world of pro wrestling.”

How The WWE Locker Room Reacted To Punk’s Podcast:

“I wish I could defend that answer and if I was there, I could do that, but you will find that in any other locker room. I heard Ray Lewis endorse Ray Rice…then you’ll have other guys who don’t want him on his team. You won’t find a unanimous decision on anything; which is why wrestlers won’t ever form a union. They can’t even form what they want to have for lunch or even stop for lunch when their on the road.”

“Trust isn’t a big prominent thing in pro wrestling because they know their shelf-lives are short. Some guys will be very leery of trusting Phil because he brought up one of his own and shined unflattering light on Ryback, without any knowledge and based off how he looks. There will be a lot of guys alienated from that statement. Phil won’t care because he washed his hands of it. The guys who were Phil’s friends would probably just leave it alone. I think the whole thing could’ve been avoided if the problem was identified by both parties. The locker room is a very cruel place; and guys will lie to stir up a hornets nest especially when it comes to money; say a guy gets $50,000 for a PPV and they usually say they got $100,000 just to stir it up.”

“I had a talent come up to me and said that I screwed him on his PPV pay out and I said ‘based on what’ and “I know guys that made double than what I made” and I knew that wasn’t true. So I made him tell me who it was and then I sent somebody after that person bring him into my office and said “Here’s the deal did wrestler A tell wrestler B make a 100 grand on the last PPV?” Silence. Then the wrestler said “I was kidding he should know I was kidding.” The locker room is a very cold place at times and it’s not the warm fuzzy all for one, one for all situations. Everybody wants the spot and there is only one big money spot. If this were the old territories days I would try to get Phil as a booker. He has a great mind and he has a great desire for the product and I could relate to that but the problem is there are no territories to book.”

    Wrestlers Being Featured In The Main Events Earning More Money;

“Back in the Attitude Era, everybody couldn’t be in the Main Event. They contributed to the success, but they can’t go on last. If you believe that you’re only the Main Event if you go on last, that’s not applicable, especially at WrestleMania and in my view, and I am a Undertaker mark and when that streak got going. It had more cache than the titles did because the titles weren’t hot. The title didn’t have the strong enough personal issue. I booked Austin in a tag match in LA and he calls me and complains about being in a tag team match and he said “I didn’t work my ass off to be someone else’s tag partner.”

“So you’re saying you want to work a tag match in LA. I have the greatest power in world and that was an eraser. Okay now you are not in a tag match. All I’m saying is that the CM Punk situation unraveled and people didn’t re-gather it and Phil made his mind up and when you feel your body is starting to give up on you and your physically hurting, you and your self-esteem starts to get hammered and depression starts to come in. I wasn’t there for the meetings but I just feel very badly because Phil Brooks deserves to be, if that’s what he wants, in the last match at WrestleMania. That might not happened but never say never.”

“The second thing, when you’re using formulaic paying system that has been in the business for over 40 years, it’s essentially the same formula that has been in the business for all the territories. You are splitting up money and you are always going to have guys that are not happy with their pay off. I never had any talent say “Hey JR that was a great pay off for that last run and I really appreciate it.” I had tons of guys come up to me to talk about their pay offs. I said this on my podcast about the Hardy Boys and Bubba Ray Dudley coming to me about their TLC match saying they feel they were under paid for match. I went back to the Vince and he said” how you feel about it” and I went back to review it and I changed the pay off. Those guys had a hell of a match.”

Very Detailed Backstage Update On The Reaction To CM Punk’s Controversial Interview

As we reported recently, CM Punk’s appearance on Colt Cabana’s “Art of Wrestling” podcast had a lot of people within WWE upset, particularly executives such as Triple H and Vince McMahon. It’s said that while most everyone kept quiet about it in public, outside of guys like Ryback and Brian “BG” James, that most, if not all WWE talents loved a lot of the stuff that Punk had to say about WWE.

On the flip-side of the coin, however, a lot of people in the company were said to be unhappy with Punk complaining about the way he was booked, due to their feeling that he was booked better than almost everyone outside of a very select few talents over the past several years.

The feeling among some is that while Punk complained about having to put over part-time guys like The Rock, Undertaker and Brock Lesnar, they would have loved to of been in that position.

One particular WWE Superstar, who is said to be a top guy, felt that much of the Punk interview came off as “sour grapes.”

Others in the company apparently felt that Punk came off bad complaining about being booked to work against Triple H at WrestleMania XXX, with their feeling being that it would be positioned as one of the very top matches on the show, with plenty of television time to promote it during the build-up to the show.

While some agreed with the “two sides to every story” cliche’, there was also said to be a general consensus that what Punk said about his experiences in WWE is the same way many others would describe theirs as well, outside of the fact that Punk made more money than most, but that they admired the guts it took to say all that he did in a public forum.

Regardless of whether or not talents agreed with all that Punk had to say during the already infamous interview, almost everyone was said to be aware of the fact that agreeing with him publicly would be nothing short of career suicide unless it was done by one of the very few “untouchable guys.”

  • Update On Sting Wrestling Undertaker & Triple H

Ever since rumors of Sting possibly signing with WWE first began circulating, the talk has been that he would eventually work a match with The Undertaker at WrestleMania.

Once Sting officially debuted at Survivor Series, however, the focus seemed to be on a potential Sting vs. Triple H match.

Current rumors suggest Sting may end up wrestling more than one match for WWE, however as things stand now, the company clearly seems to be building towards a Sting vs. Triple H match.

RF Video’s Rob Feinstein, who has broken news stories in the past — some of which related to the Sting and WWE rumors — posted the following online hours before Sting debuted at Survivor Series:

“From what I been hearing I think Undertaker is done and the plans are for Sting and HHH at Mania…but anything can change but that is what I have been told”

    – The front page of WWE.com currently features a poll asking fans who win a match between The Undertaker and Sting. With over 46,000 votes cast thus far, The Deadman is leading the poll 64% to 36%.

    – Paul Burchill, who competed for WWE from 2005 to 2010, is featured in latest edition of “Where Are They Now?” on WWE.com.

While planning life after WWE, Burchill says the thought of continuing to wrestle barely crossed his mind.

“Having wrestled with the best in the world, I got my fix,” Burchill told WWE.com. “I didn’t want people to remember me as the wrestler. I needed to do a little less for myself and a little more for others.”

Today, Burchill works as a firefighter-paramedic with the Jeffersontown, Kentucky, fire department, in addition to being a member of the Jeffersontown police department’s SWAT team and a paramedic with Yellow EMS in Louisville. He is also looking to become a registered nurse, with a goal of attending graduate school to earn a master’s degree and become a family nurse practitioner. To read the full article, click here.

Former WWE star breaks his neck – VIDEO

Why Hasn’t WWE Tried Promoting A WCW Reunion Show?

    E-C-W! E-C-W! E-C-W!

The chants can still be heard today. In fact, WWE still capitalizes on those three letters to this very day.

For example, last Monday night after RAW, WWE premiered “ECW Exposed” on the WWE Network as part of a full “ECW Week” theme for their digital subscription service.

Next Tuesday night, a second edition of “ECW Exposed” is scheduled to air on the WWE Network.

Hell, this weekend, Tommy Dreamer will be presenting the seventh “House Of Hardcore” event, which is considered by many to be a show with the old “ECW feel” to it.

My question is this, why do we see so many ECW reunion shows, but no WCW reunion shows? I’m assuming it has a lot to do with dollars and cents.

For an ECW reunion show to be held, you need at least some of the following guys: Paul Heyman, Sabu, Tommy Dreamer, Taz, Bully Ray, Devon, Terry Funk, The Sandman, Rob Van Dam, Raven and Shane Douglas. Sure, there are many other names you can go with, but you need at least a few of those guys on the event for it to feel like a legitimate ECW reunion show.

For a WCW reunion show to be held, you need at least some of the following guys: Eric Bischoff, Ric Flair, Sting, Hulk Hogan, Goldberg, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Diamond Dallas Page, Lex Luger, Sid Vicious, Jeff Jarrett, Scott Steiner and Rick Steiner. Again, many names are missing, but the fact remains, the price tags of the key guys needed for an ECW reunion show versus the price tags for a WCW reunion show are world’s apart.

WWE has at different points in time had enough of the aforementioned WCW names under contract, and certainly has enough money to secure the stars they didn’t have at a particular point in time, to put together a legitimate WCW reunion show.

Outside of the financial side of putting together a reunion show for the former two biggest rival promotions to WWE, there is the financial side of how much these shows would generate.

When you compare the amount of DVDs sold between “The Rise & Fall Of ECW” and “The Rise & Fall Of WCW,” again you will notice that they are world’s apart.

When ECW went out of business in 2001 they were still a beloved promotion that just didn’t have the financial backing or television exposure to stay afloat. When WCW went out of business in 2001 they barely had a pulse.

The fan-base for ECW was a rabid, cult-like fan-base that loved their home-promotion dearly. The fan-base for WCW by the time the company folded in 2001 was practically nonexistent.

Still, it feels like there is enough WCW nostalgia for a reunion show to work. Anytime rumors circulate that claim WWE is in negotiations with Goldberg, Sting, or any of the other major names wrestling fans associate with WCW, there is a huge buzz. Fans are excited at the prospect of these guys coming into the current fold and squaring off against today’s crop of WWE Superstars.

Currently, there is a lot of interest in a Sting vs. Undertaker match at WrestleMania. There has been buzz in the recent past about a possible showdown between Goldberg and his modern-day carbon-copy Ryback. There’s even been a lot of interest in “The Hulkster” lacing up his red and yellow boots once more.

If WWE were to sign all of these guys, or ever considered the idea at any point in time, why is it out of the realm of possibility that a WCW reunion show would be a success? Personally, I think it would work, however, I think WWE wants the WCW legacy buried and forgotten, and wants the fans of today to only remember history the way Vince McMahon and company choose to portray it.

Ever watched the “Monday Night War” documentary series on the WWE Network? Right there is a perfect example of the WWE-version of history being told.

The fact is, ECW was never a close second to WWE. They definitely provided a template on how to change the wrestling product into something more modern that fans of that generation soaked up in droves. The fact remains, however, that WCW was kicking WWE’s ass for a lengthy period of time.

Prior to that, when WWE was the top dog, WCW was always nipping at their heels. NWA before WCW was at times a close-second to WWE, and for a long period of time was considered to have the better talent roster. Additionally, NWA would beat WWE in television ratings on a somewhat regular basis before fans really paid attention to TV ratings or considered them any legitimate measure of success, as was the case when the ratings became the focal point of the WWE vs. WCW “Monday Night Wars.”

Outside of WrestleMania once a year, WWE puts on pay-per-views that for the most part feel the same. Nothing seems special or different about them anymore, and the entire idea behind a pay-per-view is to put on an event that feels bigger and more unique than a typical weekly wrestling television program.

Unfortunately, current WWE pay-per-views just feel like a slightly better version of a solid edition of WWE RAW and/or WWE SmackDown, when the company should be striving to put on pay-per-views that feel like “must see” or “can’t miss” programming.

Something tells me if WWE were to book a WCW reunion pay-per-view, if they booked the right guys, it would generate a ton of interest and likely draw a solid buyrate. It would garner interest from fans who escaped the wrestling bubble and moved on with their lives back in 2001 when the only alternative to the WWE-style of wrestling went out of business.

Picture it guys — WCW One Night Stand!

I’d fork out $44.95 and spend three hours of a Sunday evening to watch it.

And something tells me many others would as well.

The “Surprise Factor” Isn’t Always Necessary

I’ve read a lot of feedback online over the past few weeks regarding WWE’s plans for Brock Lesnar at next year’s WrestleMania 31 event in Santa Clara, California.

For those who missed it, check out this article, which is a detailed update on WWE possibly making major changes to their original plans for Lesnar.

    Back to the internet feedback.

Many, including WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross, have spoken out recently about how if WWE stays on track and has Lesnar stay untouchable leading up to WrestleMania 31, with Roman Reigns being the guy to finally end his reign of dominance and become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion at the “show of shows,” that “everyone will see it coming.” Especially due to the belief that fans will know it’s Lesnar’s final match on his WWE contract.

    So what?

Who didn’t see Daniel Bryan ending last year’s show by leading the fans inside the “Superdome” in one giant “Yes!” chant as the pay-per-view goes off the air with him finally “having his moment” and becoming WWE World Heavyweight Champion?

The answer: no one. Everyone saw that coming and guess what? It was still awesome. It still felt special, and had Bryan not gotten injured, it still would have been an effective way to start his push as a legitimate WWE main event performer.

So my question is, how is next year’s WrestleMania any different?

    Once again — it isn’t.

A good idea is a good idea, whether people see it coming or not. This isn’t 1998, we’re not in the midst of a vicious “Monday Night War” where you’ve got to use the “Attitude Era” formula of “shock television.”

Surprises are great, don’t get me wrong. They keep you on the edge of your seat and give you a reason to continue tuning into the product because you “never know what could happen.” But again, I say a good idea is a good idea, whether it’s a surprise or not.

The key factor, however, is that it has to be a good idea.

And that’s exactly what the rumored plans for WrestleMania 31 are — they’re a good idea.

Lesnar breaks The Undertaker’s legendary streak. He squashes WWE’s top Superstar in John Cena at a major pay-per-view event. He wreaks havoc on the entire WWE roster, with seemingly no end in sight. That is, however, until he meets that bad son of a bitch Roman Reigns.

No one can beat Lesnar. Hell, no one can touch him. And then comes the showdown with the “untouchable” bad ass on the other side of the fence. The “good guy” version of Lesnar. A beast of a different breed.

    Here comes Roman Reigns.

Unfortunately for Reigns, an injury has put him on the sidelines, which hurt his momentum as a guy rising through the ranks. However, if he comes back in time for the Royal Rumble in January, where he arguably made his name earlier this year as an individual player, instead of just being “The Enforcer” of The Shield, then all the cards fall perfectly into place.

First off, fans can get their precious “surprise moment,” when the ten-count clock counts down and out comes Reigns for the first time in several months. From there, much like last year, he can eliminate Superstar after Superstar, possibly breaking his own record in the process. The only difference? This time he’s the last man standing. This time he wins the Royal Rumble, which of course sets him up for a title shot at WrestleMania 31.

On the same show, Lesnar destroys John Cena for the third straight time, remaining WWE World Heavyweight Champion in the process.

    The stage is set.

Heading into WrestleMania 31, we have Brock Lesnar as an unbeatable monster on the heel side. We have Roman Reigns as an unbeatable monster on the babyface side.

We have our WrestleMania 31 main event is what we have.

During the build up to WrestleMania, we make sure to point out the streak of dominance both men are currently riding and we ponder which immovable force budges first at the biggest show of the year.

What’s wrong with that? Do we really need some kind of big elaborate “surprise” to make WrestleMania feel special? To have a satisfying climax to the biggest show of the year?

    Of course not.

Good is good, whether you see it coming a mile away or it creeps up on you out of the blue. If the story is solid enough, which I feel Lesnar vs. Reigns is — or has the potential to be I should say (you never know how WWE will handle the booking) then you’ve got all the ingredients for a “Superstar-making performance” for Reigns, which unless I’m confused, is supposed to be the goal in all of this.

Check it out — I didn’t mean a word I just said! Are you surprised?! You shouldn’t be …because of course I’m joking.

    The point?

I shouldn’t have to surprise you to entertain you with a solid editorial, I just need to tell a good story. Whether or not I accomplished that remains to be seen. You can let me know if I achieved my goal by posting your feedback in the “Comments” section below. Mick Foley Blogs About His RAW Return, Acknowledges Mistakes He Made On-Air

WWE Hall Of Famer Mick Foley, who made a surprise return on Monday’s WWE Hell In A Cell “go-home” edition of RAW in Kansas City, posted the following blog about his experience on his official Facebook page.

    YOU PROVED ME WRONG!

Just two weeks’s ago, following the electrifying live appearance of The Rock on #RAW, I was asked on social media when I’d be showing up. I replied that I wasn’t really in that league any more (the small list of legends who can make an instant impact with an appearance) and that I was more of a panel discussion guy, or a Hall of Famer who shows up to present an award, or appear in a backstage vignette. I wasn’t feeling sorry for myself either. I just honestly felt like that ship had sailed – and that I was no longer on board.

Well, last night, you proved me wrong! The whole scenario just seemed to make perfect sense, and I was able to feed off the energy of Ambrose, Rollins and a very appreciative Kansas City crowd to take part in something that felt special; something that left me feeling good – basking in the memories of the moment, and the amazing feedback from family, friends and fans. I felt like a kid who had gotten everything he’d asked for on Christmas. Sure, I made some mistakes. It was actually 18 years ago yesterday that I faced The Undertaker in “Buried Alive”, not “Not Hell in a Cell” which was two years later, and I misquoted Nietzsche…but who among us hasn’t done that?

Speaking of Christmas, how about that “flannel over Santa” look, marking the 300th consecutive day I’ve worn Santa Claus themed attire. Only 65 days left in this Foley fashion quest.

Realistically, what role would you like to see me play in WWE moving forward? I’ve got some ideas. Let me hear yours.

Thanks to all of you who have supported my live shows. There may be nothing like the adrenaline rush of a hot promo on live TV, but telling my tales across the country, and the world, is a close second. You can catch me TOMORROW in #Cornwall ON, Thursday & Friday on #Ottawa, then #QuebecCity for a combined Comic Con signing and live show on Saturday.

    NOVEMBER is looking to be a HUGE month for me, with #HardcoreLegend shows in #BROOKLYN #CHICAGO/#ROSEMONT & #PEORIA IL, #PROVIDENCE #MARIETTA & #CINCINNATI (Newport, KY) OH, #NASHVILLE & #MEMPHIS TN #ROME & #ATLANTA GA, and signings in #Rahway NJ & #GAFFNEY SC.

On Undertaker vs. Mick Foley at Hell In A Cell: “My feature for foxports.com will be posted next week and the focus is the Hell in a Cell match between Taker and Mick Foley in 1998 which is arguably the most memorable match in the history or WWE and if it’s not it is certainly in the top five. Mick told me the one thing that he never did that he wanted to do was drop an elbow off the top of the TV production truck onto another vehicle. During the research aspect of the piece Taker said he originally wanted nothing to do with the spot where he tossed Mick off the top of the Cell but that Mick was very persuasive with his idea to both the Deadman and Vince McMahon. I think that you will enjoy the feature and I will tweet out the link when it becomes available.”

On TNA Impact Wrestling: “Impact Wrestling is providing their fans with a much more enjoyable product by not over thinking their creative, exploiting their talents’ strengths (the in ring content) and doing their best to hide talents weaknesses. It’s not rocket science and by eliminating un-needed skits and marathon promos the two hour broadcast has became a really enjoyable show by and large. I’m hopeful as all wrestling fans should be that Impact Wrestling finds a welcoming TV home for 2015.”

On Lucha Underground: “Saw the Lucha Underground trailer and still don’t understand why they feel compelled to mention WWE stars in the trailer or why every wrestling company alive, seemingly, feels like they have to have a villain, administrative figure. No one will ever top Mr. McMahon in that role and every one who attempts it in that form are going to fall short. HHH and Stephanie do a terrific job in the Authority role but those two having conflicts would add to the presentation and make the role more contemporary.”

  • Backstage Update On Sting’s WWE Status, WWE’s Plans For Him If He Signs

All weekend long, Sting pushed hard the idea of a match with Undertaker at WrestleMania 31 next year. He actually went to Stamford, Connecticut and met with WWE’s merchandise crew, which is a clear indication that a deal is close to being officially finalized between the two sides.

Sting has noted that in his mind, he wants to have just one WWE match and nothing else, however it is said that it is not set in stone and due to the fact that Sting is in good shape and some people in the company are wanting him to do more, he may end up wrestling more than just one match.

As noted on Sunday, Sting mentioned that if Undertaker does not come back to wrestle next year, he would like to wrestle either Triple H or John Cena.

  • VIDEO: Sting Makes It Clear He Wants To Face Undertaker At WrestleMania 31

Sam Roberts of SIRIUS-XM caught up with “The Icon” Sting for an interview in Los Angeles earlier this weekend.

During the interview, Sting made it very clear that he wants to face The Undertaker at WrestleMania 31.

“It doesn’t diminish things. I did have a moment of, “Ah, it’s over, I’ll never be able to get in the ring with Taker.’ But just because he lost doesn’t mean he’s done or leaving. I just can’t imagine Taker leaving or being done. I just can’t imagine that. I don’t know what’s going on with him for sure. Man, I think Taker vs. Sting doesn’t need a streak storyline, we just need Taker and Sting.”
