Angelina Love Speaks On Her TNA Return, Velvet Sky, The Beautiful People & More

The following are highlights of a new ImpactWrestling.com interview with Angelina Love:

On what it was like returning to TNA: “It was magical, it felt so great to be back in front of the fans in an Impact Wrestling ring! This is my life, this is what I do and I felt right at home.”

On if we will see the good or bad Angelina Love: “Well it’s good being bad isn’t it?! Lol! You can believe the rumors out there if you want. But this time around, you will be seeing a smarter, wiser and more BEAUTIFUL Angelina. I got to explore some of my other passions; competing in two fitness competitions and filmed a TV show called “Dark Rising: Warrior of Worlds”. I really had time to relax and open up my spirit and take better note of what is beautiful & important in life. My growth has been outstanding and my eyes view the world much differently now.”

On what it was like being in the ring with Velvet Sky last week: “It was amazing of course! We share a bond closer then sisters; no matter how much time & space come in between can separate that. The Beautiful People is a part of myself & Velvet together, always has been, always will be. She has done amazing on her own since my departure and I’m so proud of her. I feel that so much time has gone by and if we were able to put the Beautiful People back together… it would start a new era in the Knockouts Division… a beautiful one!”

“The Beautiful People changed not only TNA but women’s wrestling when we debuted. Look at the number of copycats that popped up when we were on top. Often imitated but never duplicated. In 2014, I look at who is out there… and there isn’t anyone who can touch what Velvet and I can do together. I just hope Velvet makes the right decision this Thursday!”

Mickie James Talks About Being Frustrated With Her Current Role In TNA

TNA Knockout Mickie James was interviewed by Chris Kelly (@H2HCrelly) on this weeks Running The Ropes (www.facebook.com/runningtheropes.radio) to promote her new music album “Somebody’s Gonna Pay” Below Mickie are a few highlights

On her frustrations regarding her lack of TV time over the past year:

“I know I’ve seemed a little bit frustrated as of late in some of my promos and stuff, but I honestly feel that for the past year I’ve probably been on less than 10 shows. I’ve barely done anything. It’s awesome to be able to come back and win the number one contendership and go for the title, but I’m sick and tired of feeling like I’m sitting at home and watching all these other people. I did get injured and I was sick, but I was already off TV when I got hurt.

“It’s so frustrating when you know that you’re one of the best in the world, and you’re sitting at home. I love going out there and making magic and telling a story, but I don’t love pretending that I’m okay sitting at home when I’m not. I’m just being real and being honest about it. It’s not me trying to be this awful person. I’m the one who has to look at myself in the mirror and if I’m not happy with what I’m doing or not doing, then I’m the one who has to face that. So that’s kind of where I’m at. I know people question that like ‘Oh are you turning heel?’ And I’m like ‘No, not really. I’m just being honest.”

On the forgotten state of the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championship:

“I don’t understand the logic behind that because in my opinion, besides the X Division Championship, the female tag team championship is the only thing we have that nobody else has. I think our ladies’ division is so unique and so different that it gives you something else to fight for. I don’t know why they’re sitting around ODB and EY’s waists, and they’re not even defending them and nobody else is getting a shot at them. There’s no storyline; there’s nothing wrapped around them. They just kind of won the belts and that was it. Then we forgot about them.

“I don’t think we have enough girls right now to even have a tag division, unfortunately. But there are enough girls in our circle that we can use. In my opinion, it would be awesome if there were more full-time contracted girls because not only would it give us more girls to work with in the title picture, but also in the tag division being able to pair up with the right people and kind of see who works together and who doesn’t, what’s going to make money and what’s not, what kind of gimmicks and characters like Jumping Bomb Angels and Glamour Girls – it all works.”

On her popularity compared to Velvet Sky:

“I was glad that Velvet was back; I thought it was awesome. But what was the point in bringing me back [in December] if you were just going to bring her back a week later and then I was going to sit at home? It didn’t make any sense to me unless it would have worked into some kind of storyline or something like that. It still could, you never know.

“Velvet started in TNA and that’s where she built her fan base. She’s got hardcore TNA fans, whereas I have hardcore Mickie James fans. I don’t mean to take anything away from her because she does have hardcore Velvet Sky fans, but I brought 80-90 percent of my fan base with me. I do have a larger audience, but she has a larger TNA loyal fan base.”

Velvet Sky Interview: Leaving & Returning To TNA, Angelina Love, WWE & More

TNA Knockout Velvet Sky appeared on The Big WrestleShark Show this past Tuesday discussing her TNA career and plans for 2013. For the entire interview, including details of the UK tour and her plans to “let the pigeons loose”, head over to WrestleShark.podbean.com or search WrestleShark in the iTunes store. It was also announced on the show that Bully Ray would be on the show next week.

Here are some highlights of what Velvet Sky said about:

What led to her return to TNA Impact Wrestling:

“TNA is my home, I came here almost six years ago at Bound for Glory and this is my family. All the knockouts all the guys: I couldn’t stay away for too long because I missed it terribly. So the powers that be worked it out for me to come back.”

Anyone she is particularly close to in the company that encouraged her to come back:

“I wouldn’t single just one person out…maybe Madison Rayne. She’s one of my best friends here. She would text me almost every day ‘When are you coming back, we miss you, we love you.’ I mean we go back to the Beautiful People days when we would travel the globe together. But you know I’m friends with the guys, and they would reach out to me and the office would reach out. It just made my decision to come back all that easier.”

What led to her initial departure?

“It was just business issues, it was never personal with anybody. It was just a business decision I had to make is all I’ll say, I had to do what was best for me at the time. It was just me looking out for me. But everything is all worked out now and this is what’s best for me.”

Had she considered going to the competition?

“No…never say never, but you know I never considered it while I was away because this has been my home. TNA gave me my first shot at my dream, so as I said this is my home.”

Opinion on the current Knockout Division:

“Well it is a lot different now, but either way we still have a really great group of girls who make up the division. It’s not the same as it used to be and only because I was here since the birth of the Knockout division six years ago and all the girls like Roxy and Taylor Wilde and Kong are no longer with us. They were the bread and butter of the Knockouts Division, they helped create what is so special now and like I said, the girls we have now are great, but it will never be the same, it will never have that same feel because all the girls that started are no longer with us. But I love the Knockouts we have now.”

    On The Beautiful People:

“People ask me what’s my favourite time in TNA and I will always say, we had so much fun, the original, heel Beautiful People; with the makeovers and the brown paper bag treatment and just our heel antics. We had a good run, unfortunately Angelina is no longer with the company but I am going to push all the time for a Beautiful People reunion and hopefully once they get tired of me asking so much, hopefully they’ll bring her back. It’s been my best time in wrestling so far.”

Her reaction to Angelina Love leaving:

“I was so upset, but you know it was out of her hands: she didn’t wanna leave. But she is doing phenomenally well in her outside projects: she’s doing movies and conventions all over the world, she’s right where she was meant to be right now. But I still bother them all the time to let us do one more Beautiful People run but I don’t know if it will happen. I mean never say never, but I don’t know if it will.”

    On Beautiful People Imitations:

“My reaction to that is always ‘Often Imitated, Never Duplicated’. We are proud that the success of our tag team inspired other girls to…try and be like us or to imitate us, but there is only one team of the Beautiful People. I say that humbly! So humbly! But the chemistry we had together…no one can replace that, it was an irreplaceable tag team.”

    In 2013:

“I’m going to prove to everyone that I am a credible Knockouts champion. I’ve had to fight my way through almost everyone in that division to earn my way to it and I will hold that title soon.”
    ‘.
