Vickie Guerrero was interviewed by DirecTV this week to promote Sunday’s WWE Survivor Series pay-per-view. Here are some highlights of what she said about:
In your opinion, what makes Survivor Series so special?
“Survivor Series has always kind of been the kick-off to WrestleMania so this is where everything is on the line. It’s important because it brings out the best in all the Superstars and Divas. They really put their heart and dedication into their matches to prove themselves and start making those roads to WrestleMania.”
Do you have any favorite Survivor Series moments?
“I always enjoyed working with Edge and, of course, my husband Eddie. To see Eddie win was always something special to me. He obviously had a lot of opponents but one year at Survivor Series he cheated to win against Kurt Angle. This was during the “Lie, Cheat, Steal” days. That always stuck out in my mind because he was so entertaining in the way he would manipulate his opponents, baiting them into a trap.”
Do you have any other great Eddie memories?
“Gosh, there’s so many. I think my favorite moments were when he worked with Chyna. When he vied for her affection and they “fell in love” and went to prom. I just loved it! He treated me like that in real life, so I related. He was always so fascinating to watch by just being who he was. He really believed in what he did and I think that showed in his work in the ring. His work was just genuine. He cared about it. He had a lot of respect for the fans and gave 100% to make the match everything they wanted it to be when they walked into that arena. They knew Eddie was going to give them his whole heart. It meant a lot to him. I respected him for that.”
During your time in the WWE you’ve been a ringside manager, a girlfriend, RAW general manager, SmackDown general manager, and general cougar-in-charge. Out of all the things you’ve done in WWE, what has your favorite role been?
“General Manager. You get to manipulate the whole roster. That’s a high for me. I may not be on the level of the McMahons or The Authority but to work with them side-by-side, I’m honored. Of course, being the older woman and having these young guys to work with, that’s something that’s always fun. I know the fans enjoy it too because they hate me more when I have that power.”
The following are some new tweets from current and former WWE Superstars who paid tribute on Twitter to the anniversary of the passing of WWE Hall Of Famer Eddie Guerrero:
-WWE’s current plan for Ricardo Rodriguez is to keep him off of television until they find a new role for him, which is why he has been tweeting recently about “learning to wrestle” at the WWE Performance Center. At one point, WWE talked about putting Rodriguez with Rey Mysterio when he makes his WWE television return.
-As previously reported, Vickie Guerrero is going back to college. Vickie’s first day back at college is today. She is studying for a degree in medical administration. Vickie recently mentioned on Twitter that she will be taking online classes through Herzing University.
The following are highlights from a recent Miami Herald interview with Chavo Guerrero:
On the business situation in TNA: “When TNA went live, it was either going to take off or it was not going to take off. It’s a crucial time right now in TNA, and I really hope it takes off because it’s better for the business, better for the wrestlers, better for the fans, better for everybody. They got the right players in place, but they have to tweak it all…You can’t beat our wrestlers. Our roster is incredible. The wresters, we are all doing our part. We are all trying. You can only do so much…”
“It’s a business. I’ve seen that exact same thing in every other company I’ve been in. It’s the nature of the beast. They are making what they think are the best decisions for the company. That’s the way it is. That’s in any business. I know people that are teachers, and they are let go. They are great teachers, but for some reason they are let go. It’s just the way it is.”
On the success of Vickie Guerrero in WWE: “Nobody knew. She didn’t know. We didn’t go, ‘Okay, we are going to make her the next big thing.’ It just happened. She is a total natural. She is so good she doesn’t even know how good she is. She is a general manager that doesn’t really wrestle, and she is the biggest heel in wrestling basically. They hate her. That’s a big thing to have a general manager who is not a wrestler have the most heat in the company. Eddie is looking down smiling saying, ‘That’s my girl.'”
In a shocking announcement made on Monday’s edition of WWE RAW, John Cena will be returning to in-ring action earlier than expected, as he will compete with Alberto Del Rio for the World Heavyweight Championship in the next pay-per-view, which will emanate from Miami, Florida on Sunday, October 27th.
The announcement was made during the third and final hour of RAW, as Vickie Guerrero selected Ricardo Rodriguez as Del Rio’s opponent for RAW. Before the match could begin, however, Guerrero revealed that Del Rio would be facing Cena at the Hell In A Cell show, which led to Rodriguez upsetting Del Rio in the RAW match.
-According to one source, the recent pairing of AJ Lee and Tamina Snuka was inspired by the Shawn Michaels and Diesel combination from the 1990s.

-Speaking of the New York Comic Con, WWE Hall Of Famer Mick Foley will be in attendance to sign autographs as part of his promotional work for the new WWE comic book from Papercutz.
-According to the advertised talent roster on the official website for the Scottrade Center for the October 14th edition of WWE RAW in St. Louis, WWE Superstar Kane, who has been out of action lately filming the sequel to the WWE Studios project, “See No Evil,” is listed as one of the Superstars appearing on the show. It should be noted, however, that WWE.com is not advertising Kane for the 10/14 RAW. Additionally, the Scottrade Center website still lists Randy Orton as the WWE Champion, which would indicate that the advertising, which is listed, as always, as “subject to change,” is out-of-date. For what it’s worth, the website also lists “Mr. McMahon” as appearing on the show as well.
-As previously reported, WWE is taking steps to attempt to cut some unnecessary costs at their non-televised live events by taking some of the non-essential talents, such as performers like Vickie Guerrero and Zeb Colter, off of the road. It’s worth pointing out that despite the reports, while Colter was not at the live events this past weekend, Vickie Guerrero was in fact at the shows.

From Cody’s heartfelt exit from WWE, to older brother Dustin’s ability to turn back the hands of time to participate in an outstanding, emotional match with Randy Orton, to the bitter disappointment displayed with his agonizingly painful post-match walk down the hallway: this Rhodes family saga has quickly catapulted from mid-card curiosity to must-see real life drama. Congratulations to everyone involved in making this scenario so captivating.”
-As noted previously, the daughter of Eddie and Vickie Guerrero, Shaul Guerrero, is training at the WWE Performance Center for a return to the ring. Shaul recently brought back her old Raquel Diaz character to NXT and Twitter.

WWE did reach out to several former superstars, however they were later told that creative plans were changed and WWE decided against the cameos. – Triple H announced on Monday’s RAW that fans have not seen the last of the Undertaker in a WWE ring. While the natural assumption is that the Undertaker will be defending his undefeated streak at WrestleMania 29, Jim Ross says that’s not a done deal just yet. No word on whether WWE’s initiative to bring back former mid-card talent includes Divas, or if WWE will focus on bringing up new talent from NXT (such as Paige) and re-cast several of the current ladies on the active roster.
– Coming off the heels of the third and final hour of Monday’s Raw broadcast suffering a fifteen percent drop in viewership, Comcast’s listing for Monday night programming on the USA Network (available at TVGuide.com) has a rerun of NCIS: Los Angeles (2009 episode “Deliverance”) airing during the 8:00 p.m. time slot with Raw listed as a two-hour-and-five-minute program beginning at 9:00 p.m.

– Vickie Guerrero tweeted that Tamina Snuka will be joining her at this weekend’s WWE live events and talked about surrounding herself with good company:
– We reported several weeks ago that WWE was interested in pairing John Cena with AJ Lee for a mixed tag program against Dolph Ziggler and Vickie Guerrero. With the recent return of Tamina, WrestleZone.com reports that the new plan would be for her to team with Dolph instead and for Vickie to be in their corner.
At one point there was talk of having the match take place at TLC, but the feeling is that a John Cena vs. Dolph Ziggler singles match is more of a draw and better for Ziggler’s push.
It’s possible WWE could feature the Cena & AJ vs. Ziggler & Tamina match on an upcoming episode of RAW to build more interest in the Cena vs. Ziggler PPV match.
