Mysterious Alarm Vignette Appears On 5/14 Episode Of WWE NXT

The WWE Universe has another mystery on its hands thanks to a strange segment that played out on the May 14, episode of WWE NXT.

Coming back from a commercial break, the screen was entirely black and some breathing could be heard before the sound of an iPhone alarm broke the silence.

Up next was a segment in which Jazmin Nyx tried to have people sign a get-well card for Jacy Jayne. The only person who signed was Lexis King signed it and he dedicated it to “Jackie.”

It’s unclear who or what this alarm vignette is building to though some have speculated that it is building to the return of Wendy Choo. The well-rested Superstar recently returned to action after a year out with an injury. With her love of naps and staying comfy, an alarm clock would certainly fit the motif of Choo’s character.

This is hardly the first time a mysterious vignette has left fans wanting answers. Lexis King debuted in WWE NXT after a series of cryptic videos that played into his status as a second-generation wrestler. Ironically, King has forgone his real name of Brian Pillman Jr. as he has made clear he wants to establish himself as his own man in WWE NXT.

Another Cryptic Message

Mysterious vignettes aren’t just a thing in WWE NXT but are also part of the main roster as well. In recent weeks, a series of cryptic glitches and QR codes have left fans believing that the return of Uncle Howdy is coming, presumably with a faction by his side. The latest message teased something happening on May 16.

Backstage Reason Behind Latest WWE NXT Parking Lot Attack

Wendy Choo will be out of action for the time being, after being written off of NXT TV with an attack in the parking lot.

During this week’s NXT, McKenzie Mitchell was set to interview Nathan Frazer, when there was a commotion heard off-screen.

When cameras caught up to the scene, Choo was seen in the parking lot and was unable to move her arm.

Real Reason

As one would expect, this attack in the parking lot was just for the show, though Choo is needing some time away from the ring.

Choo is dealing with a legitimate injury, according to the Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alverez, and will miss an undisclosed amount of ring time.

That report adds that the Pyjama-clad Superstar is not expected to be out for long, as her injury isn’t considered “too serious.”

The Most Dangerous Place on Earth

Wendy Choo is just the latest person to fall victim to an assault in the WWE NXT parking lot.

Months ago, Nikkita Lyons was attacked by a mysterious assailant, which in reality, was to write the popular star off TV to undergo surgery.

When a fan accused The Schism’s Ava Raine of being the one behind the attacks, the fourth-generation Superstar denied that she is responsible, though wishes she was.

There are currently no reports as to who will be revealed as Choo’s attacker, on when such a revelation will be made on WWE NXT programming.

NXT Champion Competes In Match Before Raw

Bron Breakker has been the dominant NXT Champion for over 300 days but it appears that his time with the development brand might be coming to an end.

WWE has the tradition of calling up development stars right after WrestleMania. They usually start preparing talents for their future by having them compete in trial matches during the Mania season.

The NXT champion competed in one such match before this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw. The second-generation talent competed in a bout against Akira Tozawa that was filmed for Main Event.

Bron Breakker wasn’t the only NXT name brought in for the tapings from Brooklyn, NY. Wendy Choo was also present in the arena and she had a match with Dana Brooke.

Choo participated in the 2018 Mae Young Classic before being signed by WWE. She spent a long time on the shelf due to various injuries and went through multiple gimmick changes before settling on her current ring name in November 2021.

Breakker on the other hand made his in-ring debut for the brand in September 2021. He has been the dominant face of WWE’s Development Territory ever since.

The 25-year-old has made several appearances on Raw and SmackDown. Now might be the time for him to join the main roster on a more permanent basis.

Two WWE NXT Stars Worked Main Event Before Monday’s Raw

The trend of WWE bringing in NXT stars to work episodes of Main Event at weekly Raw events has continued.

At Monday’s Raw (November 7), a fan favorite NXT star made their main roster debut: Wendy Choo, also known as Karen Q and Mei Ying.

Wendy in Action

The episode featured Wendy Choo going up against Tamina for an upcoming edition of Main Event that will air later this week.

Since introducing the character, she has been a hit with the fans and gotten over with her character shedding their cheerful vibes from backstage to show off a more vicious side once the bell rings.

Choo recently competed in a match against NXT’s long-reigning Women’s Champion Mandy Rose, but came up short in her title pursuits.

Another NXT star that worked Main Event was Xyon Quinn. This marked his main roster TV debut as he has previously worked a dark match on the main roster as he wrestled in a pandemic-era SmackDown match under a former name.

Carmelo Hayes and Von Wagner are just some of the NXT names that have been put in this spot for WWE officials to get a look at these stars on a bigger stage.

Wendy Choo Makes In-Ring Debut With New “Sleepy” Gimmick

Wendy Choo woke up in time to make her in-ring debut under a new gimmick on NXT 2.0 last night. Her rather unique new persona seems to have captured the interest of many fans.

Wendy Choo is the former Karen Q and the former 1000-year-old woman, Mei Ying. Evidently, performing as her former gimmick really tuckered her out some. In recent weeks, Choo had been shown in backstage segments in pajamas and looking as though she just woke up from a long nap.

Choo made her in-ring debut last night, teaming with Indi Hartwell and Persia Pirotta. Her team defeated Amari Miller, Kacy Catanzaro, and Kayden Carter.

Early in the match, Choo appeared to curl up in the corner and rest on a pillow while on the ring apron. When she was tagged in, however, Choo perked up a little and hit a series of suplexes. Then later in the match she appeared to lay down and take a little nap in the ring while she was the legal competitor. Vic Joseph noted that she might be playing possum, however, and sure enough when Miller went to attack her, Choo kicked her off. She then tagged out to Pirotta who delivered a facebuster and then Hartwell tagged in and hit her springboard elbow drop for the win.

After the match, Pirotta and Hartwell seemed quite pleased with their rather drowsy-appearing partner.

Fans online have been reacting to this rather unique new gimmick:
