A few headlines have filtered out of ROH headquarters today; Nigel McGuinness has ‘resigned’ as ROH Matchmaker. ROH have released the following statement regarding Nigel’s decision to leave his post:
“Earlier this evening, with heavy hearts, Ring of Honor officials accepted the resignation of ROH Matchmaker Nigel McGuinness.
Speculation surrounding McGuinness’ sudden resignation has begun to boil among ROH officials. While some chastised his leniency toward Bullet Club’s behavior in the summer, others believe that now McGuinness may be under extreme duress from Bullet Club’s Adam Cole for changing the stipulations of the Final Battle main event just days in advance.
One of ROH’s all-time greats, the former ROH World Champion has resigned. ROH management has announced it is forming an executive committee to oversee matchmaking in ROH. We wish Nigel McGuinness the best of luck in his future.”

Will Ospreay recently spoke with ESPN. The 23-year old “Aerial Assassin” spoke about a potential future in WWE and what it was like for the industry’s biggest names to praise his match with Ricochet from earlier this year. Here are some highlights of what he said about:
The reaction to his match with Ricochet from this year’s NJPW BOSJ tournament:
“It’s weird when you get guys like Stone Cold doing it, and guys like William Regal coming up to you,” said Ospreay. “Guys like Chris Jericho talking about it, Seth Rollins. Yeah, there’s some things that they would change, but other than that it was one of the most insane matches they’ve ever seen. And I was like, ‘Aw! That’s cool!’ Those are my heroes, the guys I watched on TV once upon a time.”
How he feels about possibly working for WWE one day:
“I just feel like right now it’s not the time for me. Trust me when I say this, WWE has always been the thing I’ve grown up watching — guys like Paul Heyman, who I’ve met, and Matt Hardy, who I’ve met. So many names who I can mention who have inspired me. The WWE will be the dream; however, I wanna go in there with a big splash. I don’t wanna go in there and be thrown in the shallow end of the pool. I wanna be thrown in the deep end, and trust me when I say it, I’ll swim.”
Other topics discussed include the thriving UK wrestling scene, deciding to sign with NJPW/ROH over TNA and following in AJ Styles’ career path. Check out the full interview at ESPN.co.uk.
– Paul Heyman’s HeymanHustle.comhas provided a “spoiler” look at the Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg Survivor Series showdown. Unfortunately, his exciting, high-flying style comes at a price. “I’m not going to make the extent or my injuries public and being honest it’s nothing to be scared about or fear for my life. But if I carry on doing the style of matches I do at the rate I do them at my body has no time to recover and that’s when I’m gonna get hurt,” he revealed on Instagram.
“I’m going to honour some of my commitments as a champion in other places, and filling out my duties in touring with NJPW but once I’m in my home country I need to rest.” He urged his fans not to panic, as he’s able to walk and is relatively healthy. “But it comes a point where your body can only take so much and I’m making the adult decision to give my body time to heal.”
