Winner & Still Cruiserweight Champion: Neville

Reaction: Hell of a way to kickoff Wrestlemania 33. I still wish this match was on the main card but Aries and Neville put on a great match. For now, Neville is still the King of the Cruiserweights.

Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal

Winner: Mojo Rawley

Reaction: This was goofy as hell but entertaining to watch. I was pretty shocked that both Big Show and Braun Strowman were eliminated so early in the match. Mojo Rawley winning this match makes sense and hopefully he gets a push on Smackdown. I’ve never taken the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal seriously so I was able to enjoy the ridiculousness that took place in this match.

Intercontinental Championship Match: Dean Ambrose (c) vs Baron Corbin

Corbin started out this match dominant and shoved Ambrose into the ring post. Corbin controlled the next several minutes of the match and launched Ambrose into the barricade outside the ring. Back in the ring, Corin charged at Ambrose in the corner but Dean got out of the way and Corbin hit the ring post. Corbin once again charged at Ambrose, missed and smashed into the steel steps. Ambrose then hit an Elbow Drop off the top rope onto Corbin outside the ring. Back in the ring, Ambrose connected with a Neckbreaker for a two count. Corbin planted Ambrose with Deep Six for a two count. Corbin then went for the End of Days but Ambrose reversed it into the Dirty Deeds for the victory.

Winner & Still Intercontinental Champion: Dean Ambrose

Reaction: Ambrose and Corbin were in a tough spot here because the crowd was absolutely dead for this match. This match was obviously moved to the Kickoff Show to make room for the Smackdown Women’s Championship.  The build to this match wasn’t all that good but I was still expecting more. There was nothing special about this match whatsoever. I thought it was time for Corbin to become Intercontinental Champion but it was not to be. I’m fine with Ambrose as IC Champion but I’d like to see them actually do something with the title. The Miz did a great job of building that title back up and now it is back to feeling unimportant. I thought giving Corbin the title and having him be unstoppable on Smackdown would have been the way to go here. Instead, Corbin loses clean and this match felt like a throwaway.

Reaction: I thought this match was very entertaining. I was concerned when this match was announced as a traditional wrestling match, but I’ll never doubt Shane McMahon again. The guy is just completely insane. The Styles Clash AJ hit during this match was also awesome. Overall, this match was simply a lot of fun to watch.

Owens went for another Pop-Up Powerbomb but Jericho countered it into a Codebreaker. Jericho went for the pin but Owens got his index finger on the bottom rope to break up the pinfall. Owens then hit the Pop-Up Powerbomb on Jericho on the ring apron for the victory.

Winner & New United States Champion: Kevin Owens

Reaction: I was hoping that this match would have been better but it was still solid. Jericho’s current run in the WWE is pretty much over as he is off to record a new Fozzy album. He had an awesome run and I hope he comes back soon. Hopefully we get to see the real Kevin Owens now during this title reign. His Universal Championship reign was far too goofy. It took a miracle for him to win a match without any assistance. Hopefully we get to see the Kevin Owens that will win at any cost and take care of business himself.

Raw Women’s Championship Fatal 4-Way Elimination Match: Bayley (c) vs Nia Jax vs Charlotte vs Sasha Banks

Nia dominated early and launched Charlotte off the ring apron on top of Sasha and Bayley. Back in the ring, everyone teamed up against Nia Jax. Bayley and Sasha had Nia set up for a Suplex. Charlotte charged at Bayley in the corner but Bayley got out of the way and Charlotte hit the exposed turnbuckle. Bayley then hit the Macho Man Elbow Drop and eliminated Charlotte for the victory.

Winner & Still Raw Women’s Champion: Bayley

Reaction: This match was very good. Most people figured that the only way Nia Jax would be eliminated is if everyone teamed up on her and that is exactly what happened. There was no Sasha Banks heel turn tonight so maybe that will happen tomorrow night on Raw. It was cool to see Bayley pay tribute to Macho Man at the end of the match.

WWE Hall of Fame class of 2017 was honored. Kurt Angle was greeted with “you suck!” chants along with his theme song. The crowd then loudly applauded as he waved from the stage.

Cena then hit the Attitude Adjustment on Miz and Nikki hit the Rack Attack on Maryse.

After the match, Cena proposed to Nikki Bella and she said yes.

Winners: John Cena & The Miz

Reaction: The match itself was a pretty big letdown. Cena proposing after the match was predictable but was still a cool moment to see.

Non-Sanctioned Match: Triple H vs Seth Rollins

Triple H came down to the ring in a motorcycle with Stephanie McMahon in the back seat. Police escorted them all the way down the ramp. Rollins came down to the ring with a lit torch. Winner: Seth Rollins

Reaction: I thought this match would be nothing more than a glorified brawl due to Rollins’ injury. I was completely wrong and this match turned out to be great. It was a very physical match and told a great story. Rollins was determined to win tonight and there was nothing Triple H could do about it. Also, it was great to see Stephanie McMahon fall through a table.

Winner & New WWE Champion: Randy Orton

Reaction: The bugs in the ring was cool the first time and then it gold old. This match was very bad. It was lame and Bray Wyatt’s title reign was incredibly underwhelming. I’m not excited for another Randy Orton title reign either. The build to this match was contrived and ridiculous. Never in my wildest nightmares did I think that they would come up with a match even more ridiculous than the build was.

It is possible to have a dark character like Bray Wyatt and not saddle him with these ridiculous scenarios. How about just have a wrestling match? Bray Wyatt won the Elimination Chamber and wasn’t assisted by a swarm of CGI bees. He simply just won the match. I sarcastically wrote in my predictions that a lightning bolt would hit the ring post and Sister Abigail would appear. I actually wish that happened now, rather than bugs appearing in the ring. Even after all those theatrics, Randy Orton still won with a simple RKO. So, what exactly was the point of doing that? This was easily the worst match of the night so far and that includes the Kickoff Show.

Universal Championship: Goldberg (c) vs Brock Lesnar

Lesnar hit three German Suplexes in a row. Goldberg then hit a Spear and Lesnar rolled out of the ring. Goldberg then Speared Lesnar through the barricade. Goldberg set up for the Spear but Lesnar leaped over it and Goldberg slammed into the turnbuckle. Lesnar hit seven more German Suplexes making it a perfect ten in the match. Lesnar then hit the F-5 for the victory.

Winner & New Universal Champion: Brock Lesnar

Reaction: The match went exactly how everyone expected it to. It was a few Spears, a Jackhammer, a bunch of German Suplexes and an F-5. This was probably the best match these two could have together. I’m just glad this feud is over.

The Undertaker walked up the entrance ramp and raised his fist towards the top. Fog then appeared and The Undertaker was lowered under the entrance ramp.

Winner: Roman Reigns

Reaction: I enjoyed this match. It had some rough moments but I thought it was well done. The negative reaction  to Roman Reigns winning the match was over quickly  once the audience realized that The Undertaker was done. It was time for The Undertaker to go. Father Time remains undefeated and his body was wearing down. Having said that, I still do not want to accept it. The Undertaker is one of the main reasons I am a wrestling fan. I find it devastating that we won’t get to see him perform at Wrestlemania anymore. There will never be anyone like The Undertaker in WWE again. He is irreplaceable. Thank you Taker for everything.

The Miz Talks About Fan Reaction To His Wrestlemania Match Changing Since It Was Announced

The Associated Press obtained a quote from The Miz during their yearly Wrestlemania story.  When rumors came out about the mixed-tag match between John Cena & Nikki Bella versus The Miz & Maryse, the reaction was overwhelmingly negative. There was speculation on who The Undertaker would face at Wrestlemania 33 in the months leading up to the event. Many thought that the best option would be for The Undertaker to face John Cena at Wrestlemania 33. During a promo on the February 28th episode of Smackdown, Cena even acknowledged this and said that he would rather be facing The Undertaker than The Miz at Wrestlemania 33.

The build to this year’s Wrestlemania has been one that has lacked a lot of buzz. Everyone gets excited for Wrestlemania, but many of the feuds felt like they were missing something. As things progressed, it turned out that the mixed-tag match was actually one of the more entertaining feuds on WWE programming. The perception towards the match has completely changed from when it was announced till now. John Cena, Nikki Bella, The Miz and Maryse have done a terrific job getting the WWE Universe invested in this storyline during the past several episodes of Smackdown.

The Miz on the fan’s reaction changing since the match was announced:

“I do whenever something is there and people are talking about it and making noise about it. Why deny the magic,” he asked. “It’s funny, when it was announced as a mixed-tag match, people were like, you’re kidding me. Cena deserves to go against the Undertaker, Miz deserves to go against the WWE champion. This is below them. And then, once it started, people started going, ‘Oh wait a second,’ people are telling me this is the match people are looking forward to most. People care.”

Wrestlemania 33 Match Card & Predictions

Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal

Big Show, Mojo Rawley, Apollo Crews, Goldust, R-Truth, Epico, Primo, Bo Dallas, Jinder Mahal, Curtis Axel, Dolph Ziggler, Rhyno, Fandango, Tyler Breeze, Heath Slater, Chad Gable, Jason Jordan, Sin Cara, Mark Henry, Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, Konnor, Viktor, Titus O’Neil, Kalisto, Simon Gotch, Aiden English, Sami Zayn, Braun Strowman and possibly more.

Prediction: It will come down to Braun Strowman, Sami Zayn and the Big Show. Even though it is Big Show’s final Wrestlemania, he will not be victorious. Strowman will eliminate the Big Show and then Sami Zayn will almost eliminate Strowman but he will hold onto the ropes. Strowman then eliminates Zayn and wins the Battle Royal.

WWE Cruiserweight Championship Match: Neville (c) vs Austin Aries

Prediction: This will be a back and forth match. I think Neville will wind up outlasting Aries at Wrestlemania 33, but Aries will capture the Cruiserweight Championship in the near future.

Smackdown Women’s Championship Six-Pack Challenge Match: Alexa Bliss (c) vs Mickie James vs Becky Lynch vs Natalya vs Carmella vs Naomi

Prediction: Wrestlemania 33 is in her home town and she is just back from injury. Naomi picks up the victory and recaptures the Smackdown Women’s Championship that she had to relinquish due to injury.

Raw Tag Team Championship Ladder Match: Gallows & Anderson (c) vs Enzo & Cass vs Sheamus & Cesaro

https://twitter.com/Competitor_News/status/846773624954486785

Prediction: Enzo & Cass have never held the Tag Team Championships. I think that will change on Sunday night when they climb the ladder and claim the Raw Tag Team Championships.

John Cena & Nikki Bella vs The Miz & Maryse

Prediction: This one is difficult. If Cena is going to propose to Nikki Bella after the match, then clearly Cena and Nikki have to win. However, both Cena and Nikki are expected to take time off after Wrestlemania 33. If that is the case, they probably shouldn’t win this match. I’d like to see The Miz and Maryse pick up the victory, but I’ll pick Cena and Nikki because that is the most likely outcome.

WWE Intercontinental Championship Match: Dean Ambrose (c) vs Baron Corbin

https://twitter.com/LegndsofMorrows/status/844370709589774336

Prediction: It is time for Baron Corbin to carry around a title. Baron Corbin will defeat Ambrose in a 10-15 minute solid match and become the new Intercontinental Champion.

Non-Sanctioned Match: Triple H vs Seth Rollins

Prediction: Seth Rollins isn’t cleared to have an actual wrestling match, so this will be some kind of glorified brawl. Samoa Joe may show up here as well. I’ve got to believe that Triple H will win this. Rollins will keep getting back up but eventually he will not be able to fight back. I see Triple H getting this victory, boasting about it for awhile and then Rollins getting his revenge at another PPV when he is fully healthy.

Raw Women’s Championship Fatal 4-Way Elimination Match: Bayley (c) vs Charlotte vs Sasha Banks vs Nia Jax

https://twitter.com/Jessewwefan25/status/847609481185837056

Prediction: Everyone will work together for a brief moment to eliminate Nia Jax. I think Charlotte will be the next eliminated and it will come down to Bayley and Sasha Banks. Bayley will then defeat Banks and celebrate with the crowd. Sasha becomes pissed off and attacks Bayley after the match. Sasha Banks and Bayley then begin their feud Monday night on Raw.

WWE United States Championship Match: Chris Jericho (c) vs Kevin Owens

https://twitter.com/whosthebestwwe/status/847394229278003201

Prediction: Kevin Owens is technically still owed his rematch for the Universal Championship. I think Jericho might steal this one and walk out of Wrestlemania 33 still the United States Champion. No matter who wins, I predict this will be the match of the night.

Shane McMahon vs AJ Styles

Prediction: As of now, this is a traditional wrestling match. If the stipulation changes before Wrestlemania 33, my prediction will stay the same. AJ Styles should win this match. Shane McMahon is a maniac, so I’m sure there will be a couple of spots in this match that are awesome. Having said that, Styles should win and that should be the end of this feud.

The Undertaker vs Roman Reigns

https://twitter.com/HEEL_TEM/status/843998554473582593

Prediction: I cannot wait to see this match. I don’t think it will be an instant classic or anything like that. I just think Roman Reigns is going to win and people are going to lose their minds. The Undertaker isn’t wrestling at anything close to 100%, so I’ve really tempered my expectations in terms of match quality. I hope this match turns out to be great anyway. The reaction after the match concludes will be must-see television.

WWE Championship Match: Bray Wyatt (c) vs Randy Orton

Prediction: In my opinion, Bray Wyatt needs a win here. He pinned John Cena twice. He won the Elimination Chamber in dominating fashion. I would hope that the WWE would give Bray Wyatt a legitimate title run. This storyline has been bananas and has made things way more complicated than they needed to be. My prediction is that Bray Wyatt will pin Randy Orton after hitting a second Sister Abigail. Having said that, this storyline has been so absurd that a lightning bolt will probably hit the ring and a hologram of Sister Abigail will appear. Bray Wyatt will become distracted and Orton will hit an RKO for the win.

WWE Universal Championship Match: Goldberg (c) vs Brock Lesnar

Prediction: Goldberg immediately hits a Spear and a Jackhammer but Lesnar kicks out at two. Lesnar then proceeds to hit several German Suplexes and an F-5 for the victory in a quick match. Finn Balor either confronts Lesnar after the match or the following night on Raw.

Updated Look At WrestleMania 33 Set Construction (Video)

It looks like WWE is going big for the “Ultimate Thrill Ride” of the year as rumors from inside Camping World Stadium in Orlando indicate that the company is building a roller coaster to be a part of the set. WWE has used a roller coaster in the promotional material for this year’s WrestleMania with the “Ultimate Thrill Ride” theme.

Roller coaster or not, it appears the stage for WrestleMania 33 will be one of WWE’s biggest yet as it appears to covers one entire side of the stadium.

The Weather Channel currently predicts a high of 92 and a low of 66 for WrestleMania Sunday in Orlando. They are calling for just a 10% chance of rain with sunset at 7:44pm. The forecast says, “Some clouds in the morning will give way to mainly sunny skies for the afternoon.”

Here are some new photos and videos of the WrestleMania 33 set being constructed at the Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida.

Change to WrestleMania Title Match, Women’s Match Announced for RAW

WWE has announced a change to the RAW Women’s Championship this Sunday at WrestleMania.

The scheduled Fatal 4 Way match between Bayley (c), Charlotte, Sasha Banks and Nia Jax will now be an Elimination match.

WWE broadcaster Mike Rome also announced that the four women involved in the match will square off in a tag match tonight on RAW, with Bayley and Sasha Banks teaming up against Charlotte and Nia Jax.

Pitbull, Flo Rida & More Performing Live At WrestleMania

If there’s one thing that’s been missing from the buildup to WrestleMania 33, it’s been a serious lack of Flo Rida. Fear not, Grammy award winning recording artist Pitbull announced on Monday that he’ll be performing live at WrestleMania along with Flo Rida, Lunchmoney Lewis and Stephen Marley.

WWE announced last week that R&B singer Tinashe will perform “America The Beautiful” to open the show.

As noted earlier, TV host Al Roker will serve as the guest ring announcer for John Cena and Nikki Bella’s mixed tag match against The Miz & Maryse.

Neville Promises To Dispose Of Austin Aries Quickly At WrestleMania

Neville recently was interviewed by Mirror about his match against Austin Aries at Wrestlemania 33. Here are some highlights of what he said about:

The significance of his Cruiserweight title defense at WrestleMania:

“I’m sure there’s a part of me that’s proud, but more than anything for me WrestleMania is about my overdue WrestleMania moment. I have been a wrestler now for 12 years and now I am reaching this peak at the top of the mountain – WrestleMania. I have chased that dream for a long time and I have been denied. This year is about me, it is about my career and about me finally achieving what I have been deserving of for so long, my very own WrestleMania moment. My moment in the sun, so everyone can look on me, look on the King of the Cruiserweights, and realise just how good I am.”

Plans to dispose of Austin Aries quickly at WrestleMania:

“Again, I hear people throwing these terms around, ‘dream match’, ‘dream scenario’, ‘long time coming’, whatever it may be. You know what? I can see Austin Aries feeding into this, I can see his ego spiralling out of control. That’s great, but what’s going to happen at WrestleMania, once again it’s going to be run of the mill for me. Don’t expect this 20, 30-minute dream match, it’s going to be a quick affair. I’m going to dispose of Austin Aries on the grandest stage of them all, in front of the world, but it’s not going to last long, mark my words. I’m not concerned with appeasing people with a dream match. What I care about is Neville and my championship. That’s all I care about.”

Bayley Discusses WrestleMania 33, Her Recent Snickers Commercial

Bayley recently had an interview with Fox Sports and discussed her recent Snickers commercial and Wrestlemania 33 taking place in Orlando.

Bayley on her Snickers commercial:

“I had to mess it up a few times. Dude, it was so fun. They had a script for me, and as it was going on they were like ‘oh it would be cool if you did this,’ or ‘it would be cool if you do this!’ And I would sometimes not say the right line and they’d be like ’it’s cool, let’s try that one!’ Yeah, I had to mess up the room a few times. I threw so many cups at the assistant. We were using red cups before and they were like ‘nah, those don’t fly as good.’ I’m actually kind of sad because at the end we had the shot of me kicking the table… and we actually shot one where I was dropping an elbow onto the couch and I was kind of hoping they’d keep that. one, but it was so much fun.”

Wrestlemania 33 in Orlando:

“Totally, it’s considered a home to me. We really just started there. We had a million matches there in Orlando, trained for hours at the Performance Center every single day. And I know a lot of the Orlando fans are going to be there – the ones who were there when nobody else was when we weren’t traveling out to all these states and to different countries and everything. They were always there to support us. So it’s nice to bring all of WWE there and be able to experience that with them. Hoping to see a bunch of them at Axxess.”

WrestleMania 33 Set Under Construction At Camping World Stadium (Photos)

WrestleMania 33 goes down on April 2nd, and construction has already begun on the set for WWE’s biggest pay-per-view of the year. Twitter user @TownNation tweeted photos this week from the Camping World Stadium in Orlando, FL showing workers preparing the arena for WrestleMania.

The photos show a crew working on a structure high into the sky that may be the canopy that will cover the ring.

Last time WrestleMania was at the Camping World Stadium (then known as the Citrus Bowl) in 2008, WWE built an eight-pillar canopy over the ring with four big screens on it.

Photos have also begun circulating online of WrestleMania 33 promotional material all over the city of Orlando.

WrestleMania 33 takes place on Sunday, April 2nd at the Camping World Stadium in Orlando, FL at 7 PM ET with live coverage all day on SEScoops.com and the SEScoops app.

Rich Swann Discusses His Role At Wrestlemania 33 & His Dream Opponent

Rich Swann recently did a Q&A with Auburn Pub and below are some of the highlights from the interview:

Do you know much about your role at WrestleMania? You had that match with (WWE Cruiserweight Champion) Neville last week and they were setting that up as whoever wins that will be carrying the belt in, but unfortunately you came up short. So do you know what your role’s gonna be at the show?

I don’t have any direction right now, but you know, things change. And if anything happens for WrestleMania, if I get an opportunity, it’s just like I’ve taken anything before: I’ll take that opportunity to the fullest and watch that thing explode like TNT. But you know, if not, then that’s OK. This is my first year and I’m very happy learning about every single thing that goes on, and how WrestleMania is going to change lives. If Austin Aries does end up challenging Neville at WrestleMania that’s one thing that I’m definitely going to keep my eye on. You got a guy like Austin Aries, his stature — look at his accomplishments in the industry and what he’s done. The guy is definitely a very great opponent for someone like Neville. And you got a guy like Neville, whose attitude has switched, a full 180-turn, and he has not really cared about what the people have to say about him. And he’s really taking the role as the king of the cruiserweights. You can say what you want about the guy, his tactics and his attitude, but he is one of the best, if not the best performer in the WWE today. One of the best athletes I’ve ever seen in my life. I’ve spent the better part of six years of my life with that man, all over the world, and I know him like the back of my hand. He’s at the top of his game right now and I feel like this is his WrestleMania.

You’ve only been in WWE for a little while now, so I imagine there are a lot of guys you have yet to mix it up with who you want to. Who are your biggest dream opponents on the roster?

That’s a tough one, because there are so many guys. I’d love to one day have a match with Shinsuke Nakamura. Man, you know what, I take that back. As much as I love Shinsuke, the biggest dream match of mine is Chris Jericho.

Matt Hardy Files Trademark For ‘Broken’ Name, Sends Warning To Gallows & Anderson

Matt Hardy has filed a trademark application to claim ownership of the “Broken Matt Hardy” character, according to a filing at the US Patent & Trademark Office. The application was filed on March 1st, 2017 and is for “Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibits and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer.”

As previously reported, a dispute is brewing between Matt and Impact Wrestling, with both sides claiming ownership of the Broken character. Even though Matt created his Broken Universe, the new owners of Impact Wrestling feel they’re entitled to the intellectual property of the character based on the nature of their contract and the fact that Broken Matt Hardy first appeared on their show.

Credit to Pro Wrestling Sheet for being the first site to report on this story.

Speaking of Matt Hardy, he once again tweeted at RAW Tag Team Champions Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson on Monday night. This time, he informed Gallows and Anderson during RAW that he will eat them and delete them.

Report: Rollins Will Still Be Cleared To Compete At WrestleMania 33

On Sunday night WWE claimed that Seth Rollins likely wouldn’t be able to compete at WrestleMania in April due to a knee injury, but one industry insider says that’s not the case. Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that Rollins is going to be cleared to wrestle in time for WrestleMania, and says WWE’s claim was just a storyline element. Rollins is recovering from a torn MCL, which WWE is attributing to Samoa Joe’s attack on him earlier this month.

The most-likely WrestleMania opponent for Rollins is currently Triple H. Triple H is advertised to compete in a six-man tag match at the March 11 house show in Toronto, which could be a sign that he’ll be warming up for the April 2nd pay-per-view.
