WrestleMania 40: The Rock’s Blockbuster Match Confirmed During 3/8 WWE SmackDown

WWE is less than 30 days away from WrestleMania 40, and they booked a huge match during SmackDown this week. The Rock issued a challenge to Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins, and this week he got his answer.

During the closing segment of WWE SmackDown this week, they confirmed that Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins will take on Roman Reigns and The Rock during Night One of WrestleMania 40. They did so with a very tense closing segment on the show this week.

WWE SmackDown Closing Segment

The Bloodline took to the ring during the closing segment of SmackDown this week. The Rock joined them, and then Reigns told Dallas to acknowledge them, because greatness stands before them.

Before they could get much further, Cody Rhodes’ music hit, and he entered the screen from the crowd. He didn’t come alone, as Seth Rollins was there in the crowd as well as his backup.

Cody Rhodes admitted that it is very tense in the ring. Then he suggested that they just soak up that moment in Dallas, Texas. Then Cody asked if The Rock had the authority to make any stipulations for WrestleMania, because he acknowledged Roman as his Tribal Chief last week on SmackDown.

The Rock cut Cody off, and then he laid down a bit of a promo about being a family. Then he made it clear that he was serious about the stakes of the match. Suddenly, “diarrhea” chants broke out and interrupted him. Seth Rollins laughed at this, because it was his “Diarrhea Dwayne” line from RAW that inspired the chant.

Finally, The Rock continued, and then Seth Rollins told him to “shut the hell up,” while calling him “Mr. Midlife Crisis.” Then he accepted the tag team match at WrestleMania 40.

The whole segment ended with The Rock taking things too far, and then it was Cody Rhodes who nailed him with a slap this time.

WrestleMania 40 Stipulations

The Rock made it clear that this tag team match at WrestleMania will have big consequences for the main event of WrestleMania 40. If Cody and Seth can win, then The Bloodline will not be around for the main event match. If the Bloodline wins, then it will be “Bloodline Rules” for the main event.

Then The Rock said that, as a member of the TKO board, he has another thing to say. He made it clear that Cody will never get another shot at the title if he loses at WrestleMania 40. Interestingly enough, that is the same stipulation he had in AEW that stuck with him throughout his run with the company, where he was never allowed to challenge for their World Title.

SEScoops will have more on this story, and the rest of the road to WrestleMania. Keep checking back for more updates.

WWE’s Largest Sponsorship Deal Ever: Logan Paul’s Prime Hydration Nabs Center Ring WrestleMania 40 Sponsorship

Logan Paul opened up WWE SmackDown this week by drawing a ton of heat from fans after he unveiled a Prime bottle logo in the middle of the ring. It turns out that wasn’t just a gimmick, because his company just signed a massive deal with WWE.

WWE and Paul’s brand, Prime Hydration, announce a global partnership, making Prime the exclusive Official Hydration Drink Partner of WWE. This undisclosed deal promises Prime Hydration unparalleled exposure across key WWE assets, alongside activations at live events and social media support, while extending its reach beyond WWE with an exclusive global partnership with UFC.

Prime x WWE Deal

Logan Paul achieved another milestone today with WWE and his beverage brand. Prime and WWE have joined forces in a global partnership, making Prime Hydration the exclusive Official Hydration Drink Partner of WWE.

Forbes reports that Prime Hydration will be WWE’s first hydration partner and the very first sponsor ever to feature its logo at the center of the WWE ring. While specific details of the deal remain undisclosed, it stands as WWE’s most significant sponsorship agreement to date.

More On WWE’s Prime Deal

Prime Hydration’s partnership with WWE guarantees outstanding exposure and integration across key WWE assets. It is reported that this will include center mat branding at PLEs like WrestleMania and Money in the Bank.

The deal also encompasses match sponsorships, live event activations, social media support from WWE superstars, and more.

It was also reported that Prime Hydration’s collaboration extends beyond WWE, as it secured an exclusive global partnership with UFC in January 2023, becoming the Official Hydration Drink of UFC and an Official Partner of the UFC Performance Institute.

Triple H Reacts To New Prime Deal

As part of the announcement, Triple H said that, “We’re thrilled to highlight Prime Hydration across our major events.” It seems that this is the start of a much longer relationship between the two parties.

SEScoops will have additional information as new details are available. It seems that fans should expect a lot more from Prim and WWE in the months to come.

Bottom’s Up: Wheatley Vodka To Serve As First-Ever Spirit Sponsor of WWE WrestleMania

Sazerac Brands’ Wheatley Vodka will serve as the official vodka of WrestleMania 40 in a historic first for WWE’s premier annual event.

This deal with Wheatley Vodka marks the first spirits sponsorship in WWE history. addition to WrestleMania, Wheatley will also be the sponsor for a yet-to-be-announced six-part series on WWE social platforms, Sports Business Journal reports. This series will feature Cody Rhodes interviewing other WWE talents and a Wheately-branded tour bus will appear in the series.

WWE & Alcohol

At WWE WrestleMania 39, the Intercontinental Championship triple threat between GUNTHER, Sheamus, and Drew McIntyre was sponsored by Mike’s Hard Lemonade. It is reported that the beverage is set to return as a sponsor of this year’s SummerSlam Premium Live Event

WrestleMania Sponsorships

Sazerac Brands’ Wheatley Vodka is just one of the products that will sponsor this year’s WrestleMania event. Last week, it was announced that WWE 2K24 and SNICKERS will serve as the presenting partners of this year’s two-night Premium Live Event. This marks the third consecutive year that WWE 2K and Snickers have teamed up as the Presenting Partners of WWE’s annual supershow.

WrestleMania 40

WWE WrestleMania 40 will be the promotion’s fifth two-night event, a tradition established during the COVID-19 pandemic. The card for the show as it currently stands is as follows:

  • Roman Reigns (c) vs. Cody Rhodes (Undisputed WWE Universal Championship)
  • Iyo Sky (c) vs. Bayley (WWE Women’s Championship)
  • Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Becky Lynch (WWE Women’s World Championship)
  • Seth “Freakin” Rollins (c) vs. Drew McIntyre (WWE World Heavyweight Championship)

John Cena Continues to Tease WWE WrestleMania 40 Role: “I’m Free That Day”

Fans may (or may not) see John Cena at WrestleMania 40 after the former WWE Champion disclosed that he is free for the event.

This week, Cena appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to discuss his new film Ricky Stanicky. As a leading man in wrestling, the topic of WrestleMania 40 came up. In the interview, Cena delivered a master class in dodging a question when asked about possibly being at the two-night spectacle.

“It’s April 6, I know exactly where it is. I mean I’m free that day. I’m just saying to you guys out there… Maybe you won’t see me there [Does ‘You Can’t See Me’ gesture.]”

John Cena at WrestleMania 40?

Cena is hoping to do something at WrestleMania 40 which will take place on April 6, and April 7, from Philadelphia, PA. With that said John’s commitments to filming Peacemaker’s second season may keep him from the Showcase of the Immortals. The second season of the hit show based off the jingoistic Peacemaker character Cena portrayed in 2021’s The Suicide Squad is expected to begin shooting very soon.

WWE WrestleMania 40

This year’s WrestleMania will be the fifth annual two-night WrestleMania, a tradition that began with the Covid-19 pandemic. The show will also be the first WrestleMania following the launch of TKO Group Holdings last September. The card for the show so far is as follows:

  • Roman Reigns (c) vs. Cody Rhodes (Undisputed WWE Universal Championship)
  • Iyo Sky (c) vs. Bayley (WWE Women’s Championship)
  • Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Becky Lynch (WWE Women’s World Championship)
  • Seth “Freakin” Rollins (c) vs. Drew McIntyre (WWE World Heavyweight Championship)
  • GUNTHER (c) vs. Winner of Next week’s WWE Raw Gauntlet Match (WWE Intercontinental Championship)

John Cena Teases WWE WrestleMania 40 Appearance: “Fingers Crossed!”

WrestleMania 40 is scheduled as a two-night event on April 6 and 7, 2024, to be held at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The show of shows usually brings out the biggest stars the company can get, and this year’s event is no different.

John Cena mentioned WrestleMania 40, and he said “fingers crossed” about appearing. He also made it clear that he will break out the classic jorts for that appearance if it can happen.

Will John Cena be at WrestleMania 40?

I exclusively reported on SEScoops that John Cena is trying to come back to do “something” at WrestleMania 40. Now, that report has been confirmed by the man himself.

While appearing on ESPN’s First Take, John Cena was asked about a potential WrestleMania 40 appearance. He did not squash the idea at all. In fact, he backed up the idea that he is going to try to make it to the show of shows.

When asked what attire he may go with, Cena said, “it depends, WrestleMania 40, and fingers crossed, it will be the jorts.”

We will have to see what John Cena is able to do on the grandest stage of them all. His current Hollywood obligations may prohibit him from doing a ton in the ring, but it will be nice to see him anyway.

John Cena’s Most Recent Match

At WWE Crown Jewel 2023 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on April 11, 2023, John Cena faced Solo Sikoa in a match that lasted 16 minutes and 10 seconds. Cena lost that match, and then he needed surgery on both of his arms after that.

Now that Hollywood SAG-AFTRA Strike is over, John Cena returned to work. Only time will tell what he can do at WrestleMania 40, but he isn’t closing the door on that idea at all.

SEScoops will have continued coverage of this story as additional information is made available.

Trash Talk Heats Up As Rollins & McIntyre Command WWE WrestleMania 40 Spotlight

Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre’s war of words continued after this week’s Raw and their feud may be the most personal one fans see at WrestleMania 40.

McIntyre earned a World Heavyweight Championship match by winning the Men’s Elimination Chamber match at WWE Elimination Chamber 2024. This will be the third World Championship match for both men at WrestleMania. The match will mark Rollins’ first title defense as a WWE World Champion at the Showcase of the Immortals.

A Spotlight Junkie

During this week’s Raw, McIntyre had some choice words for Rollins and declared the World Heavyweight Champion a “spotlight junkie.” McIntyre’s point was that when something big happens, Rollins can usually be found latching on to it. Drew gave several examples including CM Punk’s return to WWE last year, Cody Rhodes’ return to WWE at WrestleMania 38, and his involvement with The Rock’s return and alliance with The Bloodline.

McIntyre added that Rollins should have been focusing on Monday Night Raw and the World Heavyweight Championship. The Scottish Warrior added that the title in question deserves better than Seth whose life as a ‘junkie’ has also cost the champion physically.

Seth Rollins Fires Back

Rollins wasn’t going to take the notion that he hasn’t been focused on Raw or the World Heavyweight Championship. In a scathing response made after Raw, Rollins said that he had been working for the last two years to ensure “jackoffs” like McIntyre have a championship to compete for at WrestleMania.

McIntyre had a response of his own, questioning where this focus has been from the World Heavyweight Champion.

WWE WrestleMania 40

WWE WrestleMania will take place on April 6, and April 7. The show will be the fifth annual two-night WrestleMania, a tradition that began with the Covid-19 pandemic. The show will also be the first WrestleMania following the launch of TKO Group Holdings last September

GUNTHER’s WrestleMania 40 Opponent To Be Set On RAW Next Week In Gauntlet Match

WWE’s biggest show of the year, WrestleMania 40, will go down on April 6 and 7, 2024, at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. GUNTHER will wrestle at the show of shows, and we are so much closer to figuring out his next opponent.

Brock Lesnar was originally set to face GUNTHER at WrestleMania 40. Now, WWE has set up a gauntlet match for next week’s episode of RAW to determine who will face the Ring General.

GUNTHER’s Next Opponent

WWE is gearing up for WrestleMania 40, with numerous superstars vying for a significant spot at what is slated to be the grandest WrestleMania ever.

A major talking point revolves around GUNTHER and his WWE Intercontinental Championship reign, which surpasses all others in the company’s history.

Dominik Mysterio, Shinsuke Nakamura, Ricochet, JD McDonagh, and Sami Zayn are among the top stars eager to challenge The Ring General at the marquee event.

RAW General Manager Adam Pearce has been considering everyone’s arguments for weeks and has finally made his decision. On tonight’s episode, he announced a monumental 6-man gauntlet match featuring former WWE Intercontinental champions Sami Zayn, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Ricochet, along with rising talents Bronson Reed, Chad Gable, and JD McDonagh. The victor will earn the opportunity to face GUNTHER for the prestigious title at WrestleMania 40.

What’s Next on Road to WrestleMania 40

We will have to see what WWE does to continue building toward WrestleMania 40. In the meantime, you can check out the card so far below. Obviously, the card is always subject to change, so keep checking back with SEScoops for more updates!

  • Roman Reigns (c) vs. Cody Rhodes: Singles match for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship
  • Seth “Freakin” Rollins (c) vs. Drew McIntyre: Singles match for the World Heavyweight Championship
  • Iyo Sky (c) vs. Bayley: Singles match for the WWE Women’s Championship
  • Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Becky Lynch: Singles match for the Women’s World Championship
  • Gunther (c) vs. TBD: Singles match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship

Jade Cargill Teases Involvement in WrestleMania 40 Feud After 3/1 SmackDown Appearance

Jade Cargill made her presence felt on this week’s SmackDown and we may be seeing more of the impressive talent as we get closer to WrestleMania 40.

During this week’s SmackDown, Dakota Kai turned on Bayley and made clear that she was on the side of Damage CTRL. This came after Bayley and Kai challenged the Kabuki Warriors for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. Kai, Asuka, Kairi Sane, and IYO SKY delivered a sickening four-on-one attack on the 2024 Women’s Royal Rumble winner.

Jade Cargill Responds

Jade Cargill was also a part of this week’s SmackDown and came face to face with IYO SKY. The inaugural AEW TBS Champion once again exhumed confidence as she has throughout her wrestling career.

Taking to Twitter after SmackDown, Jade Cargill said what happened on the show was not right and said that someone like IYO SKY shouldn’t be holding a “belt” for acting this way. Moments later, the ex-AEW star corrected herself, stating that the WWE Women’s Champion held by SKY is “MY belt.”

Jade Cargill Involved?

Cargill’s comments certainly imply that she’s supporting Bayley in this feud. It isn’t beyond the realms of possibility that Cargill could get physical and back the Role Model up. It’d certainly be fitting for Cargill to have a role on the road to WrestleMania, given that WWE clearly sees her as a potential top star.

Jade Cargill on SmackDown

Cargill appeared on SmackDown shortly after signing with WWE in 2023. During her segment, she came face-to-face with Charlotte Flair. At the time, it was speculated that a feud was being planned, potentially with a match at WrestleMania. If that was the plan, it’ll have been scrapped as Flair will miss most of 2023 due to a leg injury

Cody Rhodes May Get Fresh WWE Entrance For WrestleMania 40

Cody Rhodes’ entrance is beloved by pro wrestling fans all over, especially those who are fans of crowd participation. It appears that he may get a fresh coat of paint on that entrance for the grandest stage of them all.

Downstrait, the band behind Cody’s Kingdom entrance, recently teased something in the works. Although we’re not sure what is going on, something is brewing for his adrenaline pumping song.

Teasing Cody Rhodes Song Revamp

The band’s official Twitter/X account posted a little graphic of a skull with a crown. This short video file didn’t have any sound, but it flickered to reveal this iconic symbol.

The caption that Downstrait picked simply said, “Adrenaline…” That is, of course, the first word of Cody Rhodes’ entrance music. We will have to see what they have planned.

WWE will often bring in a live performance, so the actual artist behind a song can perform at the showcase of the immortals. Only time will tell if they have a similar presentation planned, but there are a couple of occasions to get this done.

WWE’s Plan for Cody at WrestleMania 40

Cody Rhodes will be double-booked for WrestleMania 40. He will compete alongside Seth Rollins against The Rock and Roman Reigns during the first night of the show of shows, with him capping off the second night against Reigns in a singles match for the Undisputed Universal Title.

The Rock made the stipulation for that tag team match on night one very interesting during SmackDown this week. If the Bloodline wins, then it will be Bloodline rules at Mania for Cody’s match against Roman. However, if the babyfaces can beat The Rock and Roman Reigns in a tag team match, then the Bloodline will be barred from night two of WrestleMania.

SEScoops will have more on this story as additional information is available. Keep checking back for more updates.

The Rock Sets Up New WrestleMania 40 Match During WWE SmackDown

The Rock shook up the road to WrestleMania in a huge way when he returned to WWE television to insert himself into the situation. What followed was a turbulent road where The Great One was forced to change his mind on the Mania match he wanted. Now we find ourselves in the situation today,

Roman Reigns and The Rock kicked things off for SmackDown this week on FOX. The Bloodline was in rare fashion, and Dwayne Johnson was already on fire, ready to rip into some candy asses on the blue brand.

Before The Rock even came out, Roman threatened to leave, because he didn’t like how the fans reacted to him. They booed him out of the building instead of acknowledging him. Then Paul Heyman hyped The Rock’s intro, after a commercial break.

The Rock came out to end the commercial break, and he had a lot to say. He started out by asking if the fans were sure that they wanted to boo him. Then The Rock dragged the crowd, because Phoenix is the #1 location for cocaine and meth use. This was a brutal promo, where he said that the fans finally have something worth shooting into their veins.

“Rocky” chants came after he said, “finally The Rock is back in Arizona.” Then he said that pro wrestling is cool again. He followed that by saying that Cody Rhodes is not cool.

The Rock addressed Cody’s challenge to go one-on-one against The Great One. He then gave his answer to Cody’s match, “no.” Everyone, including every woman in the arena wants to go one-on-one against The Rock. This received a response, but he told the “Crack Head Karens” and “Meth Head Marys” that they can’t handle his 22 inches, of course, he was talking about his biceps.

Dwayne Johnson dragged Cody a bit for challenging him with such a big match coming up. Then he laid down a counter-offer. Night One of WrestleMania 40 will be The Rock and Roman Reigns vs Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins.

If the babyfaces win, then The Bloodline will not be at ringside for the Universal Title match on night two. If the heels win, then it will be Bloodline rules for their Universal Title match.

The Rock said that they will be in Dallas next week for SmackDown so they can get their response first-hand.

Before the segment ended, Roman Reigns told The Rock that he needed one thing: “Acknowledge me.” The Rock took a beat, removed his glasses, and he did just that, “Roman Reigns, my family, I acknowledge you as my Tribal Chief.” That drew quite a response from the crowd as they locked hands and hugged. This was followed by massive “You Sold Out” chants from fans.

SEScoops will have continued coverage of the road to WrestleMania, whatever might happen next. For more updates, please keep checking back.

John Cena’s Peacemaker Season 2 Commitments Could Impact WrestleMania 40 Role

We have less than 40 days until WrestleMania 40 is upon us. The show of shows may just see John Cena once again, but he will have to work out a very busy schedule.

John Cena’s last match went down in Saudi Arabia against Solo Sikoa. After that match, he hinted at retirement in some fashion, and he had two surgeries. While he may not wrestle at the show of shows, he will try to be around.

John Cena’s WWE WrestleMania 40 Status

I exclusively reported here at SEScoops on February 23rd that John Cena is trying to make it back to do something at WrestleMania. Now, we have a bit more information on his schedule.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that there is talk within WWE of Cena coming back to Mania for some kind of involvement. It wasn’t noted exactly what they are talking about for Cena, but he will have to work around the filming for Peacemaker’s second season.

Cena will soon be filming a second season of “Peacemaker.” There has been some talk about Cena at Mania. It’s basically up to his acting schedule and if there is something going on. If there is, he may appear but couldn’t do anything that would be deemed a risk. We were told that if he does appear, the idea is to do something fun, short and memorable and with substance

What’s Next for John Cena

Peacemaker’s first season was a big hit on MAX. Now, season 2 is coming at fans, but that might not keep Cena away from the bright lights of WrestleMania 40. Obviously, Big Match John would love to be at the showcase of the immortals in some fashion this year, even if he can’t wrestle.

John Cena’s next movie, Ricky Stanicky, drops on Amazon Prime on March 7th. That will be quite an adventure for fans, as it also gave him a chance to start his first OnlyFans venture.

SEScoops will have continued coverage of the road to WrestleMania. Keep checking back for constant updates.

Pat McAfee: No Way I Could Pass A Drug Test To Compete At WrestleMania 40

Pat McAfee has wrestled at WrestleMania in the past, but that isn’t happening this year. Due to his current drug intake, the publicly traded company with a Wellness Policy wouldn’t sign off on the former NFL kicker doing his thing in the squared circle.

McAfee discussed his connection with WWE during an appearance on the “All The Smoke” podcast with hosts Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson. When questioned about his potential participation in WrestleMania 40, McAfee expressed doubt, citing concerns about his ability to pass a drug test.

Pat McAfee Won’t Compete At WrestleMania

In response to whether he’ll be competing at WrestleMania 40, McAfee admitted uncertainty due to his current regimen. Explaining his pursuit of “rich guy stuff” post-retirement to maintain his physique, McAfee acknowledged experimenting with various substances. Despite lacking awareness of the long-term effects, McAfee pondered potential health risks but remained open to futuristic solutions, including cryogenic preservation.

McAfee was asked if he knew about the long-term effects of the drugs he’s taking. He does not, as he continued to say, “Am I gonna die? Who knows. Probably. They say everybody is. But is this one gonna take years off my life? Maybe. But was that gonna happen anyways?”

The RAW announcer went on to say that if something is going to kill him that will be cured someday, “I would like to be frozen until we find the cure. Bring my ass back 2120, two thousand, one hundred twenty years in there. Think about me getting dropped in that society. I’ll be f*cking pumped up about it.”

In the end, Pat McAfee conceded that he has too much in his bloodstream to pass a WWE physical at the moment. So, he won’t be competing at WrestleMania 40.

All that being said, I don’t think I could pass any drug tests for a WrestleMania, because they drug test people so that’s real deal… and I’m on everything I think they’re testing for.

WWE’s stringent drug testing policies and McAfee’s current substance intake nixes the chances of that happening this year. That being said, he will likely be on commentary during the show of shows, as he calls the action in the ring.

SEScoops will have continued coverage of Pat McAfee, and everything else going on in the pro wrestling world. Keep checking back for future updates. h/t to Andrew Thompson at Post Wrestling for the grab.

WWE 2K24 & Snickers Confirmed As WrestleMania 40 Presenting Partners

WWE 2K24 and Snickers will serve as the Presenting Partners of WrestleMania 40, which will take place from Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field this April.

This marks the third consecutive year that WWE 2K and Snickers have teamed up as the Presenting Partners of WWE’s annual supershow. In a statement, Martin Terwilliger, Marketing Vice President, Mars Wrigley, was excited to continue the partnership.

“SNICKERS is proud to return to WrestleMania, bringing a satisfying solution to WWE fans around the world. We look forward to showing up for the passionate fanbase with WWE 2K24 as presenting partners for WrestleMania XL, bringing fans what is sure to be one of the most exciting sporting events of 2024.”

Dennis Ceccarelli, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Sports at 2K, was also pleased to be a presenting partner of WrestleMania 40

“While fans can relive forty years of WrestleMania in WWE 2K24, we’ll once again tag-team with SNICKERS to co-present WrestleMania XL. We’ll be cheering on our cover Superstars: Rallying Cody Rhodes to ‘Finish the Story,’ rooting for Rhea Ripley to defend her title, and looking forward to Bianca Belair putting on the ‘EST’ WrestleMania performance of all.”

Grant Norris-Jones, EVP & Head of Global Partnerships, TKO, addressed the size of WrestleMania 40 with great fervor.

“WrestleMania XL is shaping up to be the biggest event in WWE history and we are excited to take our partnership with 2K and Snickers to new heights as the brands unite for a third consecutive year.”

WrestleMania 40

WWE WrestleMania 40 will be the promotion’s fifth two-night event, a tradition established during the COVID-19 pandemic. The card for the show as it currently stands is as follows:

  • Roman Reigns (c) vs. Cody Rhodes (Undisputed WWE Universal Championship)
  • Iyo Sky (c) vs. Bayley (WWE Women’s Championship)
  • Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Becky Lynch (WWE Women’s World Championship)
  • Seth “Freakin” Rollins (c) vs. Drew McIntyre (WWE World Heavyweight Championship)

Drew McIntyre WWE Contract Update Heading Into WrestleMania 40

As strong argument can be made that Drew McIntyre is the top heel in WWE heading into WrestleMania 40, but is the Scotsman finally signed to a deal?

According to Alex McCarthy of the Daily Mail, McIntyre has yet to put his name down on the dotted line for WWE despite being in the World Title match against champion Seth Rollins. And although McIntyre is by all accounts having the characer run of his career, it’s being reported that the two parties are still far away from an agreement.

McIntyre shined in Australia as he along with LA Knight were the first two to start the men’s Elimination Chamber match, with the story being that Drew capitalized on every opportunity to get a pinfall in the match. This all culminated in a clash with Randy Orton as the final two men as Drew got added assistance thanks to Logan Paul who slugged Orton with a pair of brass knuckles, soldifying Drew’s path to WrestleMania in Philadelphia.

Despite a busted ear drum, Drew continued to carpe diem his star power as he along with Seth Rollins had a compelling confrontation in the middle of the show (with McIntyre continuing to take digs at CM Punk). Later on,  a match was set up next week between McIntyre and Jey Uso.

Considering the massive push he is getting, it’s hard to fathom that there may not be at least a verbal handshake agreement between McIntyre and Triple H as they head towards WrestleMania, but whether signed or not, McIntyre is proving his worth as a top star in wrestling.

Seth Rollins Is Open To Pulling Double Duty At WrestleMania 40

With Roman Reigns firmly shielded by The Bloodline, which now also includes Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Cody Rhodes seems to have found a shield of his own in the form of WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins.

Recognizing that Rhodes would once again be outnumbered in his pursuit of Reigns’ Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, and in his recent challenge to The Rock, Rollins has graciously offered to act as back-up for Rhodes in both scenarios.

As Rollins continues to boast support for Rhodes, fans have begun speculating that WWE may be building toward a potential WrestleMania tag team match that would pit Rollins and Rhodes against The Rock and Roman Reigns.

WrestleMania 40

While Rollins is already set to defending his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 40, he is open to pulling double duty at the two-night premium live event for a potential crack at Reigns, The Rock, or whoever else may step in his path.

Here’s what Rollins said on Submission Radio:

“I don’t know how the cards are going to fall. I don’t know which way the chips are going to go. I’m open to doing whatever is going to be the best right, whatever’s going to be the biggest thing we can possibly do.”

Building the legacy of the World Heavyweight Championship

As of this writing, Seth Rollins is 275 days into his reign as WWE World Heavyweight champion. As the first man to hold this ‘new’ championship in its current lineage, it’s important for him to set the tone of what the belt stands for.

“I really want to give this championship the showcase that it deserves, and if that means pulling double duty, if that means putting it on the line against The Rock or Roman or whoever, I don’t care. I don’t care what it is. I want to give this thing what it deserves. I want to give it prop it up as much as possible.”

However, Rollins has another priority. He wants to make the biggest moments possible at WrestleMania. That could be in a World Heavyweight title defense, or it could involve Cody Rhodes, The Rock and Roman Reigns. 5 weeks out from WrestleMania, even he’s unsure how things will play out.

“There’s tons of different ways it could go and I’m stoked to see what the ride’s going to look like.”

Though unconfirmed by WWE at this point, a recent report has suggested that a tag team match between Rock/Reigns and Rollins/Rhodes has been discussed as a possible headliner for night one of WrestleMania 40.

WWE Discussing The Rock/Roman Reigns Vs. Cody Rhodes/Seth Rollins for WrestleMania 40

The WWE Universe may be mere weeks away from seeing The Rock team with Roman Reigns to face Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes.

Despite their past differences, Rhodes and Rollins have been united in their efforts against The Bloodline. When The Rock slapped Cody at the WrestleMania 40 kick-off event, Rollins immediately provided back-up for his Monday Night Raw compatriot.

The Bloodline Vs. Rollins/Rhodes

At WWE Elimination Chamber 2024, Cody Rhodes challenged The Rock to go one-on-one. Rollins advised Rhodes that it is never one-on-one when it comes to The Bloodline and vowed to have Cody’s back if the match happens.

This segment left many speculating that a tag-team match between The Bloodline and Rollins/Rhodes is in the works. On the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said that he’s heard that the match could headline night one of WrestleMania 40. While some had speculated on the match being held off (potentially for one of WWE’s Saudi Arabia events) it now seems the fans won’t have to wait so long.

What This Means for WrestleMania

If this match goes ahead at WrestleMania 40, it’ll mean that Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Cody Rhodes will be performing double-duty at the event. Rhodes and Reigns will face off for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in what will almost certainly be the main event of WrestleMania 40: Sunday.

Rollins will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Drew McIntyre, who earned the title match by winning the Men’s Elimination Chamber match. If the tag-match goes ahead, it’ll virtually guarantee that the World Heavyweight Championship match will not headline WrestleMania 40: Saturday.

Ronda Rousey Coming to Philadelphia For WrestleMania Week Convention

Ronda Rousey’s future in pro-wrestling remains unclear, but fans will get the chance to see her in Philadelphia this April.

The Baddest Woman on the Planet left WWE following the MMA Rules match with Shayna Baszler at SummerSlam 2023. Rousey requested to work with Baszler to ensure her friend and mentor a high-profile spot on WWE TV. As she told SE Scoops. Baszler is happy to take full credit for running Rousey out of WWE.

Rousey’s Next Appearance

In October of last year, Rousey made a surprise return to wrestling, reigniting speculation about her future in the ring. The following month, she appeared for Ring of Honor but is not signed to the promotion.

Now, fans will get the chance to see Rousey again, albeit outside the squared circle. WrestleCon’s official Twitter page has announced that Ronda Rousey will be making her appearance at the event during WrestleMania 40 weekend. The former Women’s Champion will be signing copies of her upcoming memoir and taking photos with fans.

WWE WrestleMania Week

While Rousey will be in Philadelphia, there’s no word on a potential surprise appearance at the two-night event. Several events from various promotions will take place over the week. In addition to WrestleMania, WWE will host Raw, SmackDown, and WWE NXT, as well as WWE NXT Stand & Deliver. WWE will also host its WrestleMania World event, a four-day convention featuring exhibits and signings with WWE Superstars.

The Rock Confirms His Next WWE TV Appearances On The Road To WrestleMania 40

The Rock will be at several upcoming WWE television appearances on the road to WrestleMania 40. He’s now aligned with Roman Reigns and The Bloodline and is an integral part of Cody Rhodes’ journey to Finish The Story on April 7.

Just six weeks out from WWE’s biggest event of the year, we now have a better idea of which shows The Rock will be attending in the weeks ahead.

We knew The Rock will return this week on Friday Night SmackDown from Glendale, Arizona. He’s now confirmed on Instagram that he’ll be at the March 8th SmackDown from Dallas, TX and the following week’s show (3/15) from Memphis, TN.

The Rock announced the following upcoming WWE TV appearances on Instagram:

  • Friday, March 1:  Glendale, AZ at the Desert Diamond Arena

  • Friday, March 15: Memphis, TN at the FedExForum

He included this caption, which shows show charged up he is about his current WWE run:

WrestleMania 40 Plans Changed

Changes occurred on the WrestleMania 40 card due to various reasons, such as injuries or other factors. Of course, fan reaction played a huge part in it this year.

The Rock initially pushed for a match with Roman Reigns at the event, but faced backlash from fans, leading to a shift in plans. Then, The Rock conceded that Cody Rhodes should get that spot instead, so he can finish his story.

Fans will see Cody Rhodes challenge Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title at WrestleMania 40. WWE seems to be setting up a tag team match featuring Rhodes and World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins against Reigns and The Rock at the event.

SEScoops will have many more updates on the road to WrestleMania. Please keep checking back for more information as it is made available.

WWE WrestleMania 40 Has Two More Matches Added To Final Card

WWE created a lot of momentum for Mania with their Elimination Chamber event. Now, we have two more reported matches coming out of the Australian show.

New WrestleMania 40 Matches

WWE already had four title matches confirmed for WrestleMania 40. With Mania being the next premium live even on the main roster, odds are fans will start seeing the card come together in rapid fashion.

Dave Meltzer reported on his Daily Update that WWE has added LA Knight vs AJ Styles to the Mania card. Also, Logan Paul will defend the US Title against Randy Orton. Both of those matches were set up before the Chamber.

“Coming off the Chamber show, those at WWE have confirmed both bouts, AJ Styles vs. LA Knight and Logan Paul vs. Randy Orton, that yesterday’s show appeared to set up. Both are right now listed for Mania.”

WrestleMania 40 will be a huge two-night event, so we will have many more matches confirmed for the show as we make our way to the extravaganza. Keep checking back with SEScoops for more information, and you can check out the updated card, including these two reported matches, below.

WrestleMania 40 Card:

  • Roman Reigns (c) vs. Cody Rhodes: Singles match for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship
  • Iyo Sky (c) vs. Bayley: Singles match for the WWE Women’s Championship
  • Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Becky Lynch: Singles match for the Women’s World Championship
  • Seth “Freakin” Rollins (c) vs. Drew McIntyre: Singles match for the World Heavyweight Championship
  • Jimmy Uso vs Jey Uso (reported)
  • LA Knight vs AJ Styles (reported)
  • Logan Paul vs Randy Orton for the United States Title (reported)

WWE WrestleMania 40 Card: New Matches Confirmed After Elimination Chamber: Perth

WWE brought a huge Elimination Chamber event to Perth, Australia on February 24th. They had an impressive attendance of over 52,000, as Triple H was there to make that big announcement. As they head down the road to WrestleMania, things are a bit more clear after the dust settled in Optus Stadium.

WrestleMania 40 Card

Drew McIntyre won the Men’s Elimination Chamber match during this year’s event. That means he will go on to WrestleMania to face Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship. Many expected it to turn out this way, which makes McIntyre’s current contract situation event more interesting.

Also, Rhea Ripley’s opponent was decided for WrestleMania XL, as Becky Lynch won her first-ever Women’s Elimination Chamber match. Now, The Man vs The Nightmare will be a marquee match on the show of shows for the WWE Women’s World Title.

What’s Next

Things are brewing in a big way for the United States Title. It appears that Logan Paul and Randy Orton have some bad blood between them. The Maverick is responsible for costing Orton the Chamber match thanks to a set of brass knuckles.

The Judgment Day are also still Undisputed Tag Team Champions. It will be interesting to see which team steps up to face them at WrestleMania.

Also, some sort of match with The Rock is happening. Cody Rhodes challenged Rocky to a one-on-one match, at any time, any place. Seth Rollins then stated that it’s never one-on-one against The Bloodline, so he will be there for that fight. While a tag team match at Mania is likely, it has not been confirmed.

SEScoops will have continued coverage of the road to WrestleMania. Please keep checking back for more updates. You can find the card for WrestleMania 40 (so far) below.

WrestleMania XL Card:

  • Roman Reigns (c) vs. Cody Rhodes: Singles match for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship
  • Iyo Sky (c) vs. Bayley: Singles match for the WWE Women’s Championship
  • Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Becky Lynch: Singles match for the Women’s World Championship
  • Seth “Freakin” Rollins (c) vs. Drew McIntyre: Singles match for the World Heavyweight Championship

Seth Rollins Makes Big Injury Announcement During WWE Elimination Chamber

WWE has a lot of things going on, but their World Heavyweight Champion has been on the shelf for several weeks. Seth Rollins still plans on making his way to WrestleMania 40 for a big night to defend his title, and he will be cleared sooner than some expected.

Seth Rollins’ Big Injury Announcement

Seth Rollins recently provided WWE fans with an update on his potential return to in-ring action before WrestleMania XL on April 6 and 7. This took place during the Elimination Chamber event in Perth, Australia.

Rollins sustained a torn MCL and partially torn meniscus during a match against Jinder Mahal on the January 15 episode of RAW. Despite making multiple television appearances since the injury, the World Heavyweight Champion has yet to step back into the ring.

During Elimination Chamber, Seth Rollins mentioned that he is “days away” from being medically cleared to compete. Consequently, there’s a possibility of witnessing him wrestle on the journey leading to the main event.

That announcement went down during a very eventful Grayson Waller Effect. That is the same time that Cody Rhodes challenged The Rock to a one-on-one match down the line. Seth Rollins then told Cody that he won’t be making that fight alone.

What’s Next For Seth Rollins

Odds are, Rollins may very well compete on both nights of Mania, with a tag team match with Cody Rhodes against Roman Reigns and The Rock going down on the first night. If that happens, then his World Heavyweight Championship match should be a marquee contest on night one.

It will be interesting to see how Seth Rollins is booked from this point on. Roman Reigns’ recent burial of the World Heavyweight Champion as having a runner-up title wasn’t a great look. Still, he is one of the most beloved babyfaces in the company.

Elimination Chamber 2024: Becky Lynch Wins WrestleMania Title Shot

The 2024 Elimination Chamber event kicked off in Perth, Australia with the women’s match. The winner of the contest punched their ticket to WrestleMania in a Women’s World Title match. Now, we know who will go on to battle at the show of shows.

The 2024 Women’s Elimination Chamber Match

Liv Morgan, Naomi, Tiffany Stratton, Raquel Rodriguez, Becky Lynch, and Bianca Belair battled in the 2024 Women’s Elimination Chamber match. Naomi and Lynch started off the match as the final two competitors who were introduced into the match.

This year’s Elimination Chamber match marked a first for both Becky Lynch and Tiffany Stratton, who was the third woman in the match, as her pod was released first. Stratton got to work immediately with some gymnastics and quick offense.

After trading some moves and some near falls, Lynch, Naomi, and Stratton were joined by Liv Morgan for the 5th Elimination Chamber match of her career. Morgan got right to work by ramming Stratton’s head against chamber pods to take her out for a moment.

Then, in a shocking move, Tiffany Stratton was able to get Naomi with a roll-up pin to take her out of the match, just before Raquel Rodriguez was released into the chamber. Rodriguez came in with a lot of energy, and she took her aggression out on Stratton at first.

Finally, Bianca Belair was the 6th entrant in the match, and she went right to work on Tiffany Stratton first as well. Stratton did some selling outside as the EST of WWE went in the ring to start punishing her competitors.

One spot saw Liv Morgan land a seated senton off the pod. Then Tiffany Stratton and Becky Lynch started battling on top of the pod before Lynch was knocked off. This was followed by Stratton launching herself off the pod to hit a swanton on Bianca, Lynch and Rodriguez for a huge pop and a “This is Awesome” chant.

Stratton was eliminated next by Liv Morgan, and that drew boos from the Australian crowd. They also chanted “bullsh*t” as Stratton left. This was followed by Rodriguez getting trapped in a Dis-Arm-Her from Lynch, but she got out. Then she ate a KOD from Bianca Belair for a pinfall.

Women’s Elimination Chamber 2024 Match Finish

Bianca, Liv, and Becky were the final three in the match. They continued this match as a triple threat, with plenty of reversals and some near falls for everyone. Then, Morgan was able to pin Bianca Belair with a roll-up pin. Suddenly, Lynch nailed a Man-Handle Slam on Morgan and won the match.

Now, Becky Lynch will go on to WrestleMania 40 for a Women’s World Championship match. She will either face Rhea Ripley or Nia Jax for the title, depending on who wins the title match later on in the show.

What’s Next For WrestleMania 40

WrestleMania 40 takes place from Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on April 6 and 7. Before Elimination Chamber went down, Roman Reigns vs Cody Rhodes and Bayley vs IYO Sky were the only two confirmed matches for the show of shows.

WWE Planned Injury Angle To Take Cody Rhodes Out Of WrestleMania 40 Main Event

WWE has seen quite a ride on the road to WrestleMania 40 so far. This included The Rock re-entering the fold, and plans changing multiple times. CM Punk’s injury also threw a wrench in WWE’s plans, so there were several things that they needed to address. Their plan to take Cody Rhodes out of the picture was also nixed in the process.

WWE Planned Injury Angle For Cody

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that Cody Rhodes was informed in the fall that he would face Reigns. However, he was not informed about Rock’s involvement in the match until January 3rd. Therefore, any interviews he gave about concluding the story before the Rumble assumed he was part of the match, despite rumors about The Rock.

The report also went on to say that WWE planned an injury angle for Cody to write him out of the WrestleMania 40 main event match once The Rock showed up. Of course, they pivoted from those plans in a big way.

[Cody] was told the day of the Rumble that Rock was facing Reigns even though he was winning the Rumble. He was also told that they would be going to Reigns against him later so all the post-match stuff building that match wasn’t there to swerve people as much a build a later match. But the fact it was not going to be Reigns vs. Rhodes was keep secret from almost everyone (obviously a few knew) because Rock wanted the angle the next Friday a surprise. Even fewer knew the injury angle planned for Rhodes because even people who knew this complete story were not aware of the original idea of how to get Rhodes out of the match and Rock in.

WWE Changed More WrestleMania 40 Plans

The report also noted that Punk’s injury changed plans, but there was still no use for a men’s Elimination Chamber match because Rhodes was going to choose Rollins as his opponent. The Rock was also not wrestling in Australia, at an event that takes place at 5:00 AM on the East Coast.

The angle with Rhodes endorsing Rock, which was reportedly suggested by Triple H, was well-received by the crowd and WWE thought it went well at first. Then social media backlash changed things. Johnson reportedly already considered turning heel if fans booed him, which led the company to push in that direction.

I reported the entire time that The Rock was the only one who could change those plans. In the end, Dwayne Johnson conceded that it should be Cody Rhodes in the main event of WrestleMania 40 against Roman Reigns.

If the Rhodes injury angle was followed through with, they would have likely faced an even greater negative social media reaction. Now, fans have a chance to see Cody finish his story.

WWE’s WrestleMania 40 Stallone Deal Fizzles Out Due to Scheduling Conflict

WWE’s WrestleMania 40 event is preparing to take over Philadelphia on April 6th and 7th, and the company usually prepares memorable cards for the showcase of the immortals. Sadly, Sylvester Stallone won’t be able to make it.

Stallone and WrestleMania

There are a lot of rumors going around about WrestleMania this year, but one rumored megastar will not be on the show of shows. Sylvester Stallone has appeared for WWE before, but it’s not going to work out for Mania 40.

WrestleVotes reported that WWE has strong interest in Sylvester Stallone appearing at WrestleMania in Philadelphia. The extent of discussions or Stallone’s potential role remains uncertain at this point.

Sources within WWE indicate there is interest in collaborating with Sylvester Stallone for WrestleMania in some form. While any communication status is unclear, I’m told there’s hope for it. Whether it ultimately ends up happening or not is to be determined.Stallone, born in NYC, gained fame through the iconic Rocky films, deeply associated with Philadelphia.

Additionally, Stallone is no stranger to the WWE world, having inducted Hulk Hogan into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005.

I asked around about this, and I was told that, “They are months behind on the Stallone ‘scoop.’ Old news. As of last word, schedules couldn’t match up.”

Dave Meltzer also reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter to say that, “Those at WWE have confirmed the talk but said that as of earlier in the week Stallone had said there was a schedule conflict, so the deal hasn’t been done unless you can or wants to remove the conflict.”

We will have to see if WWE can get Sylvester Stallone to make an appearance at a future event. WrestleMania 40 in Philly seemed like the perfect location, but it just didn’t work out.

What’s Next

WWE has a lot of things planned for WrestleMania, and John Cena may just be in the mix. I exclusively reported that Cena is trying to do something for Mania this year.

As of this writing, Cody Rhodes vs Roman Reigns and Bayley vs IYO Sky are the only two confirmed matches. We will have even more after the Elimination Chamber event as well, because both Chamber matches will determine Rhea Ripley and Seth Rollins’ opponents on the grandest stage of them all.

John Cena Trying To Do Something For WWE WrestleMania 40

WrestleMania 40 is set to go down at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on April 6 and 7. With Royal Rumble winners Cody Rhodes and Bayley having already staked their claims for WrestleMania, the lineup is taking shape. John Cena might also grace the grandest stage of them all in Philly, if they can make things work.

John Cena and WrestleMania 40 (Exclusive)

John Cena and Charlotte Flair were both spotted at the WWE Performance Center on Feb 22nd. The Queen is still recovering from knee surgery, but Cena’s situation is a very different one.

Cena took off from WWE once again to make a return to work in Hollywood the moment he could after the SAG-AFTRA Strike ended. He has a couple of projects in the pipeline, and he’s doing promotion for Ricky Stanicky’s March 7th release. That promotion also saw Cena open his very first OnlyFans page.

The fact that Cena showed up at the WWE Performance Center was very interesting, especially since we’re on the road to WrestleMania. After all, Cena had to have surgeries on both arms after his Crown Jewel match against Solo Sikoa. As of this writing, Cena has not been advertised for the show of shows, but that could change.

After asking around, I was told by a tenured member of the creative team that John Cena is “trying to make it in” for WrestleMania XL “to do something.” Nothing is confirmed yet, but it is not out of the picture.

What’s Next For John Cena

While speaking on the Howard Stern Show, John Cena said a lot. He addressed the allegations on Vince McMahon from Janel Grant’s blockbuster lawsuit. Cena addressed the fact that he has remained clean from PEDs as well.

The 47-year-old shoo-in WWE Hall of Famer has also made it clear that he plans to retire from the ring by the time he’s 50. That only leaves a few years for Cena’s in-ring career if he sticks to that goal.

SE Scoops will have continued coverage of WrestleMania 40’s build, and everything else that comes with it. Keep checking back for more updates as more information is available.
