Steve Austin Slated for a “Fight Sequence” at WrestleMania

Steve Austin will not be wrestling a sanctioned wrestling match at WrestleMania 38. Plans for his physical involvement are being described as a “fight sequence.”

After weeks of speculation, WWE finally kicked the Steve Austin & Kevin Owens program into high gear this week. Owens called out Austin at the conclusion of Monday’s Raw. He ran down the state of Texas once again and invited the Texas Rattlesnake to be his guest on a special WrestleMania-edition of the KO Show.

Austin accepted Owens’ invitation in a pre-recorded video promo. Austin delivered a promo that shows he hasn’t lost a step when it comes to opening up a can of verbal whoop-ass. In the latest Wrestling Observer NewsletterDave Meltzer shed some light on what Steve Austin will do at WrestleMania.

Austin has reportedly agreed to do a “fight sequence” at WrestleMania, indicating his physical involvement will be more than just a stunner or two. Austin has been working on his cardio conditioning and knows fans will have high expectations for his “first physical confrontation in 19 years.”

Jim Ross on Steve Austin’s Return

AEW broadcaster Jim Ross commented on Steve Austin’s return on the latest episode of his Grilling JR podcast.

“He and I have talked,” said Ross, “but at the time we talked, he didn’t know what he was going to do and he didn’t sound overwhelmingly enthusiastic about it.”

JR says Steve Austin is a perfectionist. He keeps himself in good physical condition. He can still cut a great promo and he can do a photoshoot looking like the Stone Cold fans remember.

Austin has turned down multiple offers to return over the past 19 years. If he were to agree to one more match, Ross feels that Austin would want at least 6 months to train and get himself into the shape he’d be satisfied with.

Latest Update On The Chances of Cody Rhodes Returning to WWE

The drama surrounding Cody Rhodes’ next career move continues.

The American Nightmare was once considered a sure-thing to be joining WWE, but that is no longer the case. In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer provided an update on what’s next for the former AEW Executive Vice President.

Just a couple weeks ago, Cody Rhodes vs. Seth Rollins was planned as one of the top WrestleMania 38 matches. WWE hoped to have Cody signed by now and recently told the creative team to stop working on ideas for the former AEW EVP.

“The creative team was only told that it was not 100 percent that he was coming in, when they believed it was a done deal with the key parts of creative having already been worked out for him to debut,” wrote Meltzer.

He added, “They were told this week to hold off on working on Rhodes vs. Rollins until Rhodes signs the contract, because they had already worked on it, and then had to stop everything when they weren’t sure if Rhodes was coming.”

This does not sound encouraging, but it’s important to note that Cody Rhodes to WWE is far from a dead deal.

Cody Rhodes is said to be fielding multiple offers regarding the next stage of his career. He very well might end up in WWE, but the odds have undoubtedly decreatd.

Is Cody Rhodes angling for a better deal with WWE? Could we see him back in AEW, or even Ring of Honor, for that matter?

We’re going to continue monitoring this story closely. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on Cody Rhodes’ next move.

Pat McAfee vs. Austin Theory Set For WrestleMania 38

Pat McAfee will take on Austin Theory at WrestleMania 38. WWE confirmed the match during this week’s episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown when Theory came out to cut a promo on him by stating that McAfee had been set up by Vince McMahon when McMahon was on McAfee’s podcast on Thursday afternoon.

Theory walked to the announce table to inform McAfee that he was McAfee’s opponent for WrestleMania. He then slapped McAfee, which stunned him as Theory took selfies and left.

During McMahon’s appearance on Thursday’s episode of The Pat McAfee show, he offered McAfee a match at WrestleMania with McAfee accepting. As of last Thursday, it was reported a match between McAfee and McMahon was in the internal WrestleMania 38 schedule. It’s possible that McMahon will still be part of the match.

WWE presents the WrestleMania 38 event on Saturday, April 2 and Sunday, April 3, 2022 in Dallas, Texas at AT&T Stadium that will air on Peacock. WWE will be announcing more matches for this show in the coming weeks.

Plans for WWE Titles After WrestleMania 38 Unification Match

Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar will face off at a WrestleMania for the third time in just over one month at WrestleMania 38. This time, the match will be title vs. title, with Reigns putting his Universal Championship on the line and Lesnar his WWE Championship. In the end, the titles will be unified.

However, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there’s no plans for the titles to remain unified long term.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer noted that the company still wants to have two world champions, and this will be no different than when WWE has unified titles in the past. In the end, they’ll go right back to having two champions.

Meltzer went on to note that it’s not feasible in the current media landscape for WWE to only have one world champion. With Raw airing on USA Network and SmackDown airing on FOX, both networks want their own champion. In the past, when the brand split first started, the company had a traveling world champion across brands at one point.

However, fans should expect to see the championships unified in the main event of night two of WrestleMania 38 in Arlington, Texas.

WWE WrestleMania 38 Card So Far

The other matches confirmed so far for WrestleMania 38 are:

  • WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship (Main Event for Night One)
Charlotte Flair (c) vs. Ronda Rousey
  • WWE Raw Women’s Championship
Becky Lynch (c) vs. Bianca Belair
  • Dominik Mysterio and Rey Mysterio vs. The Miz and Logan Paul

Additionally, Edge will be wrestling at the show against a yet to be determined opponent, and Vince McMahon is currently being rumored for a match against Pat McAfee.

Do you like having a world champion on each brand, or would you rather see WWE have a traveling champion across the brands? Let us know in the comments section below!

Pat McAfee Responds To Reports Of Vince McMahon Match

There have been wild rumors going around about the upcoming WrestleMania 38 PPV event. One of them is that Vince McMahon himself is going to be involved in a Mania program with Pat McAfee.

The former NFL player is not unaware of this chatter either. He recently posted a video of his previous wrestling performances on Twitter and claimed that whatever he is a part of, it’s going to be a banger:

“You all seem to know A LOT more abaht what I’m up to than me.. I’m excited to see what happens at this point as well. WrestleMania chatter is WILD right now. Just a reminder..If you think imma be a part of something that isn’t a BANGER… you’re AHT of your damn mind” wrote McAfee

https://twitter.com/PatMcAfeeShow/status/1498051767900282880

The reports of Mr McMahon getting involved in a WrestleMania program first came out last week. At the time it wasn’t clear whether he would actually be wrestling a match.

More details on the plans for this feud have come to light since. It suggests that while a match may actually take place, we will most likely not see the boss taking on Pat McAfee directly.

Vince McMahon is scheduled to make an appearance at McAfee’s podcast this Thursday. We should get a better idea for the direction of this feud on the show.

Vince McMahon ‘Most Likely’ To Have A Match At WrestleMania

WrestleMania is the event of surprising feuds and big matches. This year it might involve a match featuring none other than the boss himself, Vince McMahon.

The chairman and CEO of WWE was announced for an appearance at the Pat McAfee show during the SmackDown broadcast this week.

According to John Pollock at Post Wrestling, McMahon’s appearance has been scheduled to “launch a program” with McAfee that will lead to something at WrestleMania.

When asked whether this program involving the 71-year-old billionaire will be billed as an official match, Pollock was told that it was “most likely.”

Vince McMahon At WrestleMania

If the WWE owner does end up wrestling at the show, it will be Vince McMahon’s first official match since his bout with CM Punk during a Raw episode back in 2012.

Mr. McMahon’s last match at the Show Of Shows was against Bret Hart during WrestleMania 26 in 2010. The match with Hart was his fifth official WrestleMania match.

Even if McMahon has not wrestled an actual match for a while, he has had numerous physical altercations since then. This includes confrontations with the likes of Kevin Owens and AJ Styles.

WrestleMania Changes, Rousey vs. Charlotte Set for Night 1

WWE will be making some changes to the WrestleMania 38 premium live event.

Since WrestleMania was expanded to two nights in 2020, the shows have been presented as “WrestleMania Night 1” and “WrestleMania Night 2.”

This year’s WrestleMania will instead feature “WrestleMania Saturday” and “WrestleMania Sunday.”

WWE has already begun using this new naming convention, so expect to hear the branding hammered home on television in the weeks ahead.

As the WrestleMania 38 card takes shape, WWE has confirmed that Ronda Rousey’s match against Charlotte Flair will take place at WrestleMania Saturday.

WWE has yet to confirm that Rousey vs. Charlotte will be the main event of WrestleMania Saturday, although this is what we expect to see.

WrestleMania 38 takes place over two nights on Saturday, April 2 and Sunday, April 3 from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

The following is matches are confirmed for WrestleMania 38:

  • SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair vs. Ronda Rousey
  • Winner Takes All: WWE Champion Brock Lesnar vs. WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns
  • RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch vs. Bianca Belair
  • Rey and Dominik Mysterio vs. The Miz and Logan Paul

Becky Lynch Reacts to Upcoming WrestleMania 38 Match

WWE RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch took to social media to react to the news that she will be facing Bianca Belair at WrestleMania 38.

Belair won the Women’s Elimination Chamber event during the Premium Live Event on Saturday night and is now the #1 contender to Lynch’s title.

Taking to social media, Lynch would react to the news that she will be facing the former SmackDown Women’s Champion.

Becky pointed out that this will be a match between the only two women to ever win a WrestleMania main event, giving the contest some gravitas beyond the title stipulation.

She wrote: “Congratulations Bianca. The only two women to win the main event of #WrestleMania go head to head in the main event of #WrestleMania. Maybe this time I’ll beat my own record.”

Becky Lynch vs Bianca Belair

There was an expectation that Ronda Rousey would be challenging Lynch at the event, but recent reports have claimed that Lynch vs Rousey is being pencilled in for WrestleMania 39 in 2023.

Whoever wins between Lynch and Belair at WrestleMania 38 will be in the history books as the first woman to ever win two WrestleMania main event matches.

As of writing, it is looking like WWE will be putting the RAW title on Belair, avenging her loss back at SummerSlam 2021 against ‘Big Time Becks.’

Updated WrestleMania 38 Card Following WWE Elimination Chamber

The card for WrestleMania 38 is starting to come together.

Elimination Chamber 2022 is in the books and the event brought a few changes to WWE’s biggest show of the year.

Bianca Belair won the Women’s Elimination Chamber match to become #1 contender to the Raw Women’s Championship. That title is held by Becky Lynch, who successfully retained against Lita.

Brock Lesnar captured the WWE Championship once again by winning the Men’s Elimination Chamber match. In doing so, his match against Roman Reigns will now be Champion vs. Champion.

WrestleMania 38 Card

The following matches are now set for WrestleMania:

  • WWE Champion Brock Lesnar vs. Universal Champion Roman Reigns
  • Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch vs. Bianca Belair
  • SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair vs. Ronda Rousey

Hit up the comments to let us know what you think about how this card is looking.

WWE Working On Another “Austin-Level” Surprise For WrestleMania

WWE is reportedly planning another big surprise for WrestleMania this year. In addition to “Stone Cold” Steve Austin returning to the ring to face Kevin Owens, Dave Meltzer reports that the company has something else of equal weight also still to be revealed.

“There’s apparently one more surprise besides Austin still to come and it’s supposed to be ‘Austin-level’. That’s a pretty small list of people who could be Austin level,” said Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio.

Meltzer continued, “The Rock… I think Dwayne’s got stuff going on so I don’t think it’s going to be him So, who else do we have? Hogan, Flair, and Undertaker, right?”

Who is Austin-Level?

Steve Austin WrestleMania 38

In terms of who the surprise could be, there are limited options as to who could be as big as Austin. John Cena stated on the Ellen Show recently that he is unlikely for WrestleMania this year.

“WrestleMania is usually in the cusp of late March, early April. I don’t know if I’m going to make it this year. That’s a good conundrum to have because there’s a lot of good opportunities coming up, which I would love to take. And if all those things line up, I don’t know if I’ll be able to make WrestleMania,” Cena said.

“Cena’s got stuff going on,” Meltzer said. “That could always be a swerve too but I was told he had stuff going on.”

Who do you think could be considered at the same level as Stone Cold Steve Austin?

AJ Styles Still Pushing Hard for WrestleMania Dream Match

It’s no secret who AJ Styles wants to work against at this year’s WrestleMania in Texas. Now, the former WWE Champion once again doubled-down on wanting a match with Edge in a new interview with Ariel Helwani.

“He’s so knowledgeable, he’s such a superstar. I would love to get the opportunity to get in the ring with him,” Styles said (h/t ComicBook). “There was that time when I thought there would never be an opportunity to wrestle him, and now, it’s here. The time is limited in which we can pull it off. Whether he or I retire first, who knows, but I want to get that match. I desperately want to get that match. I think it’s the one that most fans would enjoy.”

Styles also referenced that Edge wants the match, too. Edge hasn’t been seen since he and Beth Phoenix defeated The Miz and Maryse at the Royal Rumble in St. Louis a few weeks back.

AJ Styles Has A Shot at the WWE Championship This Weekend

WWE Elimination Chamber 2022
WWE Elimination Chamber 2022

Styles came up short in a match with WWE United States Champion Damian Priest this past Monday night on Raw, but the Phenomenal One gets a shot at the WWE Championship this weekend.

Styles will compete in an Elimination Chamber match in Saudi Arabia on Saturday that will have Bobby Lashley’s title up for grabs. Also in that match will be Brock Lesnar, Seth Rollins, Austin Theory, and Riddle.

The rest of the card for WWE Elimination Chamber is as follows:

  • WWE Universal Championship Match
    Roman Reigns (c) vs. Goldberg
  • WWE Raw Women’s Championship Match
    Becky Lynch (c) vs. Lita
  • WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship Match
The Usos (c) vs. The Viking Raiders
  • Elimination Chamber Match
Bianca Belair vs. Liv Morgan vs. Rhea Ripley vs. Nikki A.S.H. vs. Doudrop vs. Alexa Bliss
  • Ronda Rousey and Naomi vs. Charlotte Flair and Sonya Deville
  • Falls Count Anywhere Match
    Drew McIntyre vs. Madcap Moss
  • The Miz vs. Rey Mysterio

Watch: WWE’s Super Bowl Commercial for WrestleMania 38

WWE received some major visibility during the most-viewed sporting event of the year on Sunday night. Peacock reportedly paid for a WWE WrestleMania 38 advertisement to air during Super Bowl LVI on Sunday night between the Los Angeles Rams and Cincinnati Bengals.

With the WWE Network moving to the Peacock streaming service domestically last year, the brand looked to hype up WWE’s biggest show of the year during what is always the biggest sporting event of the year.

During the pre-show for the Super Bowl, a 30 second advertisement aired for WrestleMania 38, which will of course air on Peacock in early April. Then, during the first half of the Super Bowl game itself, a 15 second spot aired promoting WrestleMania.

Both commercial feature the voice of Pat McAfee. You can view the 30 second advertisement below, which aired during the pre-game show.

And you can view the 15 second advertisement that aired during the first half below.

Two matches have been confirmed so far for WrestleMania 38, which is just under two months away in Arlington, Texas at the home of the Dallas Cowboys. WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns will take on Brock Lesnar, while WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair will wrestle Ronda Rousey.

Lesnar has a chance to make his match against Reigns a title vs. title match. Next Saturday at WWE Elimination Chamber in Saudi Arabia, Lesnar will participate in the Elimination Chamber match for Bobby Lashley’s WWE Championship. As the Top Rope Nation podcast first reported last week, Paul Heyman has been pushing hard for a title vs. title match at WrestleMania during creative meetings for several weeks now.

WWE WrestleMania 38 Commercials To Air During Super Bowl LVI

WWE is slated to have a presence during Sunday’s Super Bowl LVI broadcast. WWE told employees on Friday that “multiple” commercials for WrestleMania 38 will air during the Super Bowl (via PWinsider).

Recent Peacock commercials have highlighted WWE programming. It’s unclear whether the Peacock ads on Sunday will be dedicated WWE WrestleMania commercials, or simply ads for the Peacock streaming service.

The big game kicks off at 6:30 p.m. Eastern time from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.  and will feature the Los Angeles Rams and the Cincinnati Bengals. This makes sense as this year’s Super Bowl airs on NBC and Peacock as Peacock houses the WWE Network in the United States.

The stadium is also scheduled to host WrestleMania 39 in 2023.

WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar and WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair vs Ronda Rousey have been the only matches confirmed for WrestleMania 38. WWE has been building towards next Saturday’s Elimination Chamber event so once that show is over, the company will have over a month to build towards its biggest show of the year.

WWE’s last Super Bowl ad aired in 1999, as seen below:

WWE Has Two Blockbuster Matches Planned for WrestleMania 39

WrestleMania 38 is still months way, but we’re already looking ahead to the 2023 installment of WWE’s biggest premium live event of the year.

WrestleMania goes Hollywood on Sunday, April 2nd, 2023 at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, California. The new state-of-the-art venue will host the upcoming Super Bowl LVI game between the Los Angeles Rams and the Cincinnati Bengals.

WrestleMania 39 Main Events

The Rock & Ronda Rousey
The Rock & Ronda Rousey

WWE will once again leverage two if its biggest box office attractions to ensure WrestleMania 39 shatters records.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is planning for The Rock to be part of a blockbuster double main event at next year’s show of shows.

If all goes as planned, the top matches for WrestleMania will see The Rock battle his cousin Roman Reigns and Ronda Rousey clashing with Becky Lynch.

The idea is to lead to the biggest WrestleMania ever in 2023 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, CA, with Reigns vs. The Rock and Becky Lynch vs. Rousey”

– Wrestling Observer Newsletter (February 7, 2022)

The Rock vs. Roman Reigns is arguably the biggest match WWE could present at this time. If they can get The Rock to sign on for WrestleMania 39, there’s no question this show will do record business. Both men have spoken publicly about wrestling one another. You can read their most recent comments in the links below:

Ronda Rousey returned to WWE last month and won the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble match. Her agreement with WWE takes her through WrestleMania 39.

Ronda Rousey vs. Becky Lynch Planned for WrestleMania (Report)

WWE is planning for Ronda Rousey to be a big part of WrestleMania 38.

This Saturday, WWE presents the 2022 Royal Rumble premium live event. The Rumble marks the beginning of the Road to WrestleMania.

We know WWE has some big Royal Rumble surprises in store. As big as the Rumble is, WWE often uses it as a platform to set up the biggest show of the year.

By now, the top matches for WrestleMania are starting to take shape. On the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer addressed speculation that Ronda Rousey will be returning to face Becky Lynch at WrestleMania in April.

“That could be the match, and the impression I got is that it’s certainly ‘more than considered’ to be the match. I don’t know that it’s official, but I know somebody there who pretty much told me its in the books.”

– Dave Meltzer on Ronda Rousey vs. Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 38

Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania

Ronda Rousey has had some big moments at WrestleMania. Her first appearance for WWE took place at WrestleMania 31 back in 2015. Little did we know at the time, Rousey would eventually go on to become a full-time WWE Superstar and main event WrestleMania just a few years later.

The last time we saw Ronda Rousey in a WWE, it was at WrestleMania 35 in 2019. Rousey, Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch made history that night. It was the first time a women’s secured the main event of the biggest night in pro wrestling.

Becky Lynch was victorious that night. She walked away with Rousey’s Raw Women’s Championship and Charlotte’s SmackDown Women’s Championship.

Ronda Rousey vs. Becky Lynch

Since WrestleMania 35, Becky Lynch’s star has continued to rise. “Becky 2 Belts” evolved into The Man and more recently into Big Time Becks. Her star power and is on a different level than any other woman in WWE. If WWE wants to deliver a WrestleMania opponent worthy of Big Time Becks, Ronda Rousey fits the bill. Plans change, but Becky Lynch vs. Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania is one hell of a plan.

Becky Lynch hasn’t forgotten about her former foe. During an interview with TMZ Sports back in October, she was asked if she had any advice for Ronda Rousey about returning to WWE after having a baby.

“Don’t, cause I’m still on top, Ronda, you won’t like it. That’s my advice.”

– Becky Lynch’s advice to Ronda Rousey about returning to WWE

If the match does come to fruition, Becky Lynch thinks she knows how it will play out.

“The fact that I’ve had a baby and came back so great that she’ll probably want to one-up me,” Lynch said of Rousey on the Out of Character podcast.

“She’ll try to come back in three months, then I’ll be right there to punch her right in the face, give her a Rock Bottom, out of here in 20 seconds, Ronda. So long, good night.”

Rey Mysterio Names His ‘Dream’ WrestleMania Moment

WWE and WCW Legend Rey Mysterio recently revealed his ‘dream’ WrestleMania moment, which unsurprisingly includes his son Dominik.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk, Mysterio revealed that he wants to have a match at the iconic event alongside his flesh and blood.

“There is definitely a WrestleMania moment that has yet to be seen next to my son,” Mysterio began the interview.

“That is something that if you would have told me a year ago, that I was going to be able to share the ring with my son, let alone become tag-team champions – the first-ever in WWE – I would have said, ‘get out of here,'” Mysterio added.

Rey Mysterio WrestleMania Moment

“Now things have just flourished and have manifested,” Mysterio continued. “I’m putting this out in the world that I want to have a WrestleMania moment with my son before I end up hanging up the mask.”

Mysterio is no stranger to major WrestleMania moments, with the former WCW Cruiserweight Champion having matches against the likes of Eddie Guerrero, Kurt Angle and Randy Orton at the Showcase of The Immortals.

Getting the opportunity to share the ring with his son will of course be the most sentimental WrestleMania moment he could hope to have.

It remains to be seen if WWE will honor the request from the Luchador legend, but it would certainly make sense for the Mysterios to have a match of some form on this year’s WrestleMania 38 card.

WWE wants “Stone Cold” Steve Austin at WrestleMania 38

WrestleMania will return to the Lone Star State this spring, with WrestleMania 38 slated for Arlington, Texas on April 2nd and April 3rd. Once again, WWE will present their biggest show of the year across two nights.

With that in mind, current reports indicate that WWE is attempting to make this year’s show even bigger by solidify an appearance from perhaps the greatest Texas wrestling legend of them all.

According to the WrestleVotes Twitter account, which has broken several stories in the past, WWE is working on a potential “meaningful” appearance for Austin at the event.

“Talked to a few different source this weekend & heard the same thing, WWE is very interested in having Steve Austin as a part of WrestleMania this year in Dallas. Not in a wrestling role, but a meaningful part of the event outside of just appearing. Up to creative at this point,” WrestleVotes wrote on Monday morning.

This isn’t be the first time that reports have made the rounds about Austin being at AT&T Stadium in early April; the initial advertising for WrestleMania 38 featured Austin.

Austin’s last WWE appearance was during the March 16, 2020 edition of Monday Night Raw for “3:16 Day.” That show was the very first Raw held inside the WWE Performance Center at the start of the pandemic.

Steve Austin & WrestleMania 38

The aforementioned WrestleMania 38 promo video featuring Austin debuted during WrestleMania 37 last year.

“They say everything’s bigger here, and not to mess with us,” Austin says at the start of the video. “Cause this place runs deep in our hearts.”

“Here’s the bottom line” Steve Austin continues. “This is where the jaws will drop, the feet will stomp, the crowd will roar, and the Superstars will soar.”

“When the roofs are blown off, asses get handed, and moments are made in the only way we know how” Austin concluded. “What?! WrestleMania calls and Dallas says, ‘Oh, hell yeah!’”

Steve Austin retired from active in-ring competition following his match with The Rock at WrestleMania XIX in 2003. The last time a WrestleMania was held at AT&T Stadium in Arlington (2016), Austin did in fact appear at the show, taking part in a segment alongside Shawn Michaels and Mick Foley.

Update On WrestleMania Format For Next Year

WrestleMania 38 will take place from Dallas, Texas’ AT&T Stadium. Several ideas have been discussed regarding the format for next year’s big event. According to a report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the idea of Mania being a 2-night event is not yet set in stone. If it is a 2-night event, Mania will be held on April 2nd and 3rd. Other ideas have been discussed as well, however.

“WWE contacted AT&T Stadium with several different potential ideas including the two-day Mania that has been talked about,” wrote Dave Meltzer. One of those ideas is a 2-night event on April 2nd and 3rd. Another is that Mania would be held on just the Sunday night. If they run with that idea, then the following night’s RAW would also take place from AT&T Stadium. There would be a smaller setup for RAW, however, hosting about 40,000 fans.

Roman Reigns vs. The Rock has been talked about as the main event for the show.

Earlier this month, a report from Fightful stated that WWE is planning on running a 2-night event for Mania again next year.

“After the reception of the last two years of WrestleMania being split up into two nights, Fightful has learned the working plan internally as of last week was for WrestleMania 38 in Arlington, Texas to also be split up into two nights. The shows are scheduled for Saturday, April 2, and Sunday, April 3.”

Bianca Belair Talks About Her Emotional Experience at WrestleMania

Bianca Belair made history this past weekend at WWE WrestleMania. The 2021 Women’s Royal Rumble winner defeated Sasha Banks to become the new SmackDown Women’s Champion.

It was an emotional weekend for the the 32-year-old champion. Bianca Belair spoke with SportsKeeda about her WrestleMania experience, including what it was like arriving to the stadium on Saturday, working with Sasha Banks and much more.

“I was just overcome with all types of emotion,” Belair said. “Just the fact that we were at WrestleMania. It was the main event. We were at the main event of WrestleMania and we were creating history. When I looked across at Sasha Banks, I couldn’t help but smile. I know that we were both fighting for a title, but it was… This moment, it was more than just about me. It was more than just about Sasha. It was more than just about us.”

Bianca Belair’s Emotional Weekend

Belair said they got to the stadium around 1pm on Saturday. She could feel the anticipation building until that moment that she and Sasha Banks were across the ring from one another. “To finally be in that moment and just stand in that moment and be able to hear the fans. We haven’t had fans for over a year. To be able to finally hear the fans and hear them chanting EST and Boss. It was just an amazing feeling. I was overcome with emotion. It was just overwhelming.”

She is grateful that she got a chance to make history with Sasha Banks and says “The Boss” elevates everyone that she works with.

She definitely elevated me last night and I am forever grateful to her for that,” said Belair. “But we’re still going to be fighting it out because I have something that she wants now.”

WWE WrestleMania Night 2 Results: Universal Title Triple Threat, New Champions Crowned

WWE WrestleMania Night 2 aired live from Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay, Florida. Roman Reigns put the Universal Championship on the line against Edge and Daniel Bryan in a Triple Threat match in the main event. Asuka defended the RAW Women’s Championship against Rhea Ripley. Apollo Crews challenged for the Intercontinental Championship against Big E in a Nigerian Drum Fight. Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax defended the Women’s Tag Team Championships against Natalya & Tamina.

WrestleMania Night 2 Results:

  1. Randy Orton def. The Fiend
  2. Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax def. Tamina & Natalya to retain the Women’s Tag Team Championships
  3. Kevin Owens def. Sami Zayn
  4. Sheamus def. Riddle to win the United States Championship
  5. Apollo Crews def. Big E to become the new Intercontinental Champion
  6. Rhea Ripley def. Asuka to win the RAW Women’s Championship
  7. Roman Reigns def. Edge & Daniel Bryan to retain the Universal Championship

Here are the takeaways from Night 2 of WrestleMania 37:

Randy Orton def. The Fiend

Randy Orton faced The Fiend in the first match of the night. Alexa Bliss came down the entrance ramp as Orton was waiting in the ring. Bliss started turning a gigantic jack in the box and The Fiend popped out.

The Fiend leaped off the box and leveled Orton with a Clothesline. The action spilled out of the ring and Orton slammed The Fiend on the announce table. The Fiend locked in the Mandible Claw but Orton broke free and hit a DDT.

Orton dodged a Senton from The Fiend and hit another DDT. The Fiend applied the Mandible Claw and set up for the Sister Abigail but Alexa Bliss popped out of the box with black goo coming down her face. The Fiend got distracted and Orton hit an RKO for the pinfall victory.

Opinion: This was awful and was correctly booed by the crowd in attendance. There was a holy sh*t chant when Bliss emerged, followed by some loud boos once everyone realized that was it. Hell of a way to kill the crowd at the beginning of the show. At the very least, this was slightly better than the worms projected onto the ring at WrestleMania 33.

Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler Retained

Opinion: I would have rather just seen the SmackDown Tag Team Championship match at WrestleMania than whatever the point of this was. I thought Natalya and Tamina were heels, so I didn’t understand who WWE wanted the fans to cheer for. The Riott Squad would have made more sense in this match.

Opinion: I guess everyone is supposed to forget Dabba-Kato’s stint on RAW Underground or the fact that he was drafted to the brand. He was also Babatunde in the Greatest Royal Rumble a few years back. Having said that, this was still a very entertaining match and it was cool to see Apollo have a meaningful win at the biggest show of the year. Big E and Apollo beat the hell out of each other tonight and it was fun to watch.

Bryan added that he loved the ThunderDome but there is absolutely nothing like wrestling in front of a live audience at WrestleMania and winning the Universal Championship in the main event. Daniel said he is often associated with the word “yes” but most of his career has revolved around constantly being told no.

Daniel brought up the past and how Batista & Orton didn’t want him in the main event of WrestleMania 30 and the same goes for Reigns & Edge this year. Bryan said his mentors taught him to ignore the negativity and say “yes”. Daniel claimed that this will be the biggest match of his career when he faces Roman Reigns & Edge in a Triple Threat match for the Universal Championship this Sunday at WrestleMania 37.

Bryan noted that Edge thinks he is stealing his spotlight and Reigns is worried that Daniel will make him tap out again. Daniel added that Edge and Reigns are two of the most dangerous men in WWE but they aren’t going against family man Daniel Bryan. Daniel stated that they are getting the best, most dangerous version of Bryan that will tap Reigns out again and kick Edge’s head in despite his neck. Bryan wondered if he could walk out of the main event of WrestleMania as Universal Champion and started a “yes!” chant.

He said that when he dreams things, he has to manifest them and he became a WWE superstar. Edge noted that he has accomplished everything besides ending his career on his own terms. Edge added that he didn’t walk away from this, he had it ripped away from him and it took him 9 years to get it back.

Edge stated that he didn’t come back as a nostalgia act, he came back to steal the show and main event WrestleMania. Edge claimed that Daniel Bryan used sympathy as a factor to weasel his way into this match. He complained about the possibility that Bryan could win the title by pinning Reigns and he would have nothing to do with it.

Edge turned his attention to Roman Reigns and referred to him as “Samoan Edge” because he came into WWE with a three man group and uses the Spear as his finisher. He said that this match will take place 10 years to the day when he was forced to retire but it is barely mentioned, but if it were Bryan that narrative would be driven into the ground.

He claimed he wasn’t getting the respect he deserved since he returned. Edge noted that he won the Royal Rumble, has come back from something nobody has come back from and shouldn’t have to jump through hoops. Edge added that he is competing at a level that nobody has ever done from this type of injury and anyone that refers to him as a part timer is a slap in the face to him.

Edge said it is time to take back the respect he deserves because he is the Rated R Superstar. He ended the promo by saying he will be the next Universal Champion because he dreamt it and now he will manifest it. Sonya Deville and Adam Pearce then had a brief conversation backstage.
