Apparently the reason WWE decided to induct Scott Hall into the WWE Hall Of Fame under his “Razor Ramon” character is in fact due to plans for a future nWo induction, where he would of course be himself.
In a related note, there has been discussion regarding the possibility of inducting Kevin Nash under his “Diesel” character in WWE, saving his induction under his real name, along with Hall, for the future nWo induction.

As previously reported, several past WWE Superstars have been contacted to appear in cameo-type roles at Sunday’s WrestleMania XXX show in New Orleans. Some of the names contacted include The Rock, Steve Austin, Jim Ross, Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels and Roddy Piper.
According to one report, there’s a decent chance The Rock will appear on the show, however it’s unknown whether or not he’ll be there live or in a pre-taped interview type segment.
As far as Austin is concerned, he had noted in the past that he wouldn’t go to New Orleans unless WWE had something for him, and wouldn’t simply go to sit in the crowd at the WWE Hall Of Fame ceremony, noting that if that was the case, he’d just watch it at home on the WWE Network.
We do know, and have reported in the past, that WWE had pitched some ideas to Austin for WrestleMania XXX, and based on reports that he will be in New Orleans this weekend, many are under the impression that he accepted one of them.

Diamond Dallas Page recently appeared on The Jason Bailey & Randy Cross Morning Show in Atlanta, Georgia. During his appearance on the show, DDP mentioned that his WWE Hall Of Fame induction speech for Jake “The Snake” Roberts is written and ready to go, however he noted that even he doesn’t know what will come out of his mouth.
Speaking of DDP, he was Jim Ross’ guest on the latest “Ross Report” podcast, which is now available. Below is the official preview for the show:
TRR – Ep07 – Diamond Dallas Page
Diamond Dallas Page joins JR to talk DDP Yoga, saving Jake “The Snake” Roberts, getting back in the squared circle with Randy Orton, the WWE Hall of Fame, Wrestlemania 30, Daniel Bryan, and DDP’s match against Christian at Wrestlemania 18.

The following are highlights of a recent VOC Nation interview with former Men On A Mission member Mo:
On Mabel (Nelson Frazier Jr.) as a possible WWE Hall Of Fame inductee: “The one thing that [Nelson Frazier] talked about more than anything in the weeks before he passed, he wanted to be in the Hall of Fame. He felt like looking at the way the business is now, and he felt like, in his heart of hearts, Men on a Mission … had done enough and we had brought so much to the business because … how [of] many acts have spawned off of just the Men on a Mission characters … He really felt like we should be in the Hall of Fame. He would tell me all the time, “Man, if you’ve got anything bad to say about WWE, anything, just please man don’t say it. Keep it to yourself. Don’t say it. We deserve the Hall of Fame.”
On WWE still using the Men On A Mission gimmick: “If you look at 2014 WWE, right now, just about 60% of the gimmicked characters [or] whatever they have on that TV program right now is a take from either Men on a Mission or from Oscar’s character in a sense. Just about everybody’s using some type of rap thing, some type of rap music. Even John Cena comes to the ring rapping. You’ve got the Usos, now, instead of saying “Whoop there it is” they’re saying “U-so, U-so,” you’ve got Ron Killings (R-Truth) instead of going “Whoop there it is” it’s “What’s up? What’s up?.” You know?”
On getting heat because of Oscar: “We met Oscar the same day we flew up to New York and took a limo to Connecticut. We didn’t click because Oscar didn’t know about the wrestling business. He knew everything in the world about the entertainment business but he didn’t know anything about our business. So, in the beginning we had a lot of problems trying to get him to realize “We’re going to get heat for this, we’re going to get heat for that,” and all these different things … He did [get us heat] … Nobody ever knew we (Mo and Mabel) [were] separate [from Oscar].”

– Mr. T was live-tweeting during last night’s RAW, talking about how excited he is and almost being done writing his speech. Hulk Hogan is rumored to induct his WrestleMania 1 tag team partner.
– Jake Roberts noted in a a recent interview that he will not have a written speech for the WWE Hall of Fame and plans to “speak from the heart” when he’s on stage.

The following are highlights of a WGD Weekly interview with Ron Simmons:
On the significance of becoming the first African American World Champion in WCW: “Out of everything that I’ve accomplished in professional wrestling, that, without any doubt, tops the list. As I have stated before, once we leave this earth, man or woman, we want to be known or leave something behind that is good for mankind, period and that to me was the best gift I could’ve given, not only to my race, but to any aspiring wrestler, or anyone aspiring to do the best in anything they can…at that time there wasn’t many African Americans in the business, and then for myself to come along and be the one, while not setting out to be that one, or that trailblazer, or the first to wear that heavyweight belt. it means a lot to me. To see the other guys like Booker T, or Mark Henry who had come after me and for them to come up to me and say ‘Thank you, Ron, for inspiring me and opening the door for me to get an opportunity to pursue my dream. That’s what sums the whole thirty years of this business, that I have been in the ring, that’s what makes it all worth while.”
On who he feels deserves to be in the WWE Hall of Fame that has not yet been inducted: “My brother, as I do say, at some point he definitely has to go in there. Whether it is as a tag team or as a singles, he was a world champion there and in numerous world championship tag teams there with myself, and that’s my partner, Bradshaw.”
On sitting down with Vince McMahon and being pitched the Faarooq Asad gimmick: “We sat down and we started going over things, and we thought about how I was going to be presented in my gimmick…so, he said, ‘This is when I sat down with my team and envisioned you as.’ Now this was far from my mind, but, he pulls these drawings out and says, ‘I see you as this gladiator, as this spartan. Now, so far I’m thinking, man, this is great, I can get with that. Then he starts to show me more and more and then he says, ‘And this will be something like what you’ll be wearing, this helmet right here, it’s made out if leather.’ So, at first I’m waiting there, you know, I’m waiting for him to laugh or to joke. Because, I’m laughing at this point and I’m thinking, this guy has a good sense of humor, he is ribbing me. So, as I’m laughing, I look at his face and think, ‘Oh god, he is serious.’ So, my face goes right back to poker face right then and all I can say is, ‘You know, I think that is great. That is fantastic and it will be the best thing I’ve ever done.’ I’m thinking in the back of my mind, ‘I can’t believe this.'”
On he and Bradshaw having to “welcome” incoming talent to the WWF that may have not had the best attitude coming in: “There is a lot of truth to that, absolutely. There were guys that came there from other organizations that perhaps they thought they should just skip everybody else and skip right to the top and have things right away the way they wanted. I mean, hey, there are rules and things that you have to abide by as far as this business goes…and you have to respect those. But, when you don’t respect those, then hey, we have got a problem. So, yes, we had a lot of guys who came in with that attitude, and John and I would have to be called upon to let them know ‘hey, that is not how it works here’.”

The following are highlights from a new Jim Ross blog:
On a “RINGSIDE” show in Toronto: “We’re doing another RINGSIDE show in Toronto on Friday May 9 at the Danforth Music Hall and tickets for the show go on sale THIS TUESDAY in Toronto at the box office of the Music Hall and via ticketmaster.ca. It’s one show only and it’s the night before the ROH-New Japan show in TO. VIP Meet and Greet tickets will go fast and are limited. We will h ave the meet and Greet before the show on the Friday May 9 event.”
On some upcoming “Ross Report” podcast guests: “Thanks for the great feedback on this week’s Ross Report with Lita aka Amy Dumas. Next week my podcast guest will be DDP Diamond Dallas Page who I suspect will induct Jake Roberts at the 2014 WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony the night before WM30. That’s not a conformation but my personal assumption. Without question DDP impacted the lives of both Jake and Scott Hall in a major, life saving way.”
“Great lineup of guests coming to the Ross Report podcast via @PodcastOne including, the aforementioned Robert Flores, Jim Cornette, Gail Kim, Shawn Michaels, Bill Goldberg, ESPN’s Michelle Beadle and Eric Bischoff, among others.”
On WWE inviting him to the Hall Of Fame: “WWE has invited me to attend the WWE Hall of Fame next Saturday night in New Orleans. I’m going to endeavor to attend. Grat night for some very deserving performers.”
On reaction to him putting over Michael Cole recently: “Some seemed surprised that I applauded @MichaelCole work in WWE recently on the Q&A’s here. Cole is without question the hardest working on air talent in WWE and his job has become so multi faceted that it exceeds the boundaries of being a play by play man. I’m not even sure that WWE calls it play by play any longer but nonetheless Michael does a helluva job steering a diverse ship on 5 hours of prime time TV for WWE.”

– Batista recently spoke to radio station DC 101 in Washington, D.C. for a WrestleMania XXX promotional interview. Regarding the locker room atmosphere in WWE these days, Batista said, “Being back in it and seeing that the guys are young and hungry, it gives me a great outlook on the business. And there’s a lot of talent in there, it’s stuff that I didn’t see before I actually came back. It’s good, it’s a good vibe.”
You can listen to the audio of the interview at this link.
– DC 101 also spoke to soon-to-be WWE Hall Of Famer Amy “Lita” Dumas about her upcoming induction. “It’s not about titles, it’s just more about impact and things that you’ve done to shape how we’re viewed going forward are things that women that are aspiring to wrestle or make an impact in the business,” said Lita. “Kind of just things to look at or keep in mind.”
You can listen to the audio of that interview at this link.
– The three featured names that are scheduled to air on the edited version of the WWE Hall Of Fame 2014 ceremony on the USA Network, which airs as a one hour special after RAW on April 8th, are The Ultimate Warrior, Jake “The Snake” Roberts and Lita.
– As previously reported, the big WrestleMania XXX press conference will take place in New York City this coming Tuesday. WWE recently confirmed that the presser will air live on the WWE Network. Michael Cole will serve as the host for the press conference.
The following are highlights of a new Baltimore Sun interview with Roddy Piper:
On if he’ll be involved with WrestleMania weekend: “I’m going to be there. You know, that’s a good question. I have a lot of thoughts about it. I don’t know any other entertainment sport where 30 years later you could give the fans the opportunity to see the two guys who started it at the War to Settle The Score. Personally, I think that if you don’t hit the bagpipes, there’s 30 years and I don’t know how many millions of fans that you’re cheating of a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. It’s not about money, it’s not about hearing your name get chanted either. It’s about saying thank you I think. You want to give the fans what they deserve and you want to do it with class. So am I going to be part of it? I don’t know. I don’t know. I wouldn’t mind inducting T into the Hall of Fame, I guarantee you would never forget that induction. I doubt they’ll do that one but they may. I don’t know what they’re going to do. Tell me when I get there.”
On Mr. T’s WWE Hall Of Fame induction: “I’m glad he’s being inducted into the Celebrity wing. At the time, at the first Wrestlemania, Mr. T was probably the most famous television celebrity in the world. So I think the guy deserves to be inducted into the Celebrity Hall of Fame. Personally, what I’ve got with him or against him I think it’s time to grow up. Just don’t mention my name. Leave me out of your speech, T.”
On the CM Punk situation: “I don’t know the reasons. I’m glad you asked that question because I have no bias. I don’t know why, and I don’t know what was going on, but I know this. CM Punk is a very talented man, and I’m a big fan of his. He’s got a lot of great talent to share with the fans all over the world for a number of years. When you have one regime and something is going wrong, you have no other choice but to fall back and catch your breath and see where am I standing and where are they standing and where are we going. Back in the day, when you’re going 330 days a year, it’s hard to have that much sense. I think that for one, CM Punk has a whole lot more great stuff to come out and I believe that the WWE will want that. They’ve put a lot of money into him, and they need to get over whatever their problem is. Sometimes going It seems like between WWE Network and Wrestlemania, you really want to get back out there with them, but is there some pushback from them? What’s going on there?”

– Part of the reason WWE is inducting Carlos Colon into their Hall Of Fame is due to the fact that they will likely be purchasing his WWC video library. The general consensus seems to be that if they’re going to buy the library, it would only make sense to put the Hall Of Fame “stamp of approval” on the guy who is the enduring star of the collection.
– This year’s WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view, which will be held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California on August 17th, is officially sold out. Of the 14,000 tickets sold for the event, approximately 3,000 were bought with the mindset that the event would be a quick sellout — which it was — and are now available in the secondary market. Those tickets now range from $22 for cheap seats to $1,000-$5,000 for the first four rows.

WWE Hall Of Famer “Stone Cold” Steve Austin noted on the most recent edition of his “Steve Austin Show” podcast that he is looking to make plans to travel to New Orleans, as he mentioned that he wants to attend the WWE Hall Of Fame ceremony.
Speaking of Austin’s podcast, his latest show is available online. The official preview for the show reads as follows:
SASu – EP102 – Live From 316 Gimmick Street
Steve’s telling your favorite kind of stories – wrestling stories! Hear about the time he ran over The Rock’s Lincoln Town Car with a monster truck, what happened to Steve & Bret Hart in the ring in Germany, and why Big Van Vader was drinking beer in nothing but his underwear in a hotel bar in London. Oh, and if you need some help with your resume – Steve’s gotcha covered!

As of right now the leading candidate for Scott Hall’s WWE Hall Of Fame inductor is Kevin Nash. Whether or not he would be introducing him as Diesel is another question. An outside shot for Hall’s inductor would be Shawn Michaels due to their famous WrestleMania X ladder match, although most seem to feel that Nash is the more likely candidate.
The Paul Bearer induction is an interesting one, mainly because Undertaker has never attended a WWE Hall Of Fame ceremony due to the belief that it doesn’t fit his character. At the same time, Undertaker is clearly the obvious choice for Bearer, so many are curious to see how that one is handled.
Michael Cole’s latest guest for his weekly sit-down interview series at WWE.com this week was WWE Hall Of Famer and the host of WrestleMania XXX, Hulk Hogan.
Hogan spoke to Cole about a number of topics, including the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal, Mr. T being inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame, his history at WrestleMania and more.
You can check out the complete interview above.
The following are highlights of a recent Inside The Ropes interview with “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase:
On his past comments about Ultimate Warrior and his WWE Hall Of Fame induction: “I mean, I don’t hate the guy. It goes back to anybody that watched the DVD, The Self Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior, that really tells the story. Obviously, if Vince has decided he needs to be in the Hall of Fame, I’m not going to begrudge that and obviously I’m going to be there. I quite frankly, don’t know how many of my peers believes he really deserves it because…it’s not just about being the star it’s about a number of things, it comes back down to the gratitude thing. None of us would be stars, when I was inducted I had a list of people that I needed to thank. Harley Race was there in the crowd and I pointed Harley out. I think that’s it, the overall lack of gratitude that the Warrior has shown over the years. Where it makes most of us go ‘Who do you think you are?’ Doesn’t he realise that none of this would be happening if it wasn’t for a lot of help from a lot of people. I think that’s pretty much the consensus. I don’t begrudge him. I’m not that kinda guy to hold a grudge. If I had to feel one thing towards Jim Hellwig, I guess it would be pity a little bit. I’ve heard other people say that he just generally has the attitude that it’s about succeeding in life and you’re going to have to do what you can to get ahead and if that means stepping on people along the way then so be it. That, in my opinion, is a very sad commentary and a very poor way to look at life. So am I going to begrudge him for going into the Hall of Fame? No.”
On Ultimate Warrior’s induction speech: “I often wonder if Vince has thought about that. Here’s his one opportunity to lay it all out there and vent out his frustrations on all of us who think he isn’t worthy. Hopefully he won’t do that. I heard that Linda McMahon is inducting him. You have to ask yourself why? Why is Linda McMahon inducting him? Maybe he couldn’t find anyone else to do it.”
On The Undertaker’s undefeated WrestleMania streak ending: “People ask me, I have mixed feelings. One part of me says leave the streak, it’s an honor to who he is, and how his character has endured and to Taker who’ll always be remembered. But you know, the other part of me think it’s like when Andre The Giant allowed Hulk Hogan to beat him at WrestleMania 3, he passed the torch. I feel that’s one of those things that has to happen. After all, it’s a business. You’ve got to have new stars and you need people to pass the torch to build those stars. I don’t know, but either way I’ll be happy.”

As previously reported, WWE Hall Of Famer Hulk Hogan appeared on Huffington Post Live on Monday to promote WrestleMania XXX. Beyond the sex tape information that was reported yesterday, Hogan also talked about a couple of current WWE-related topics.
As far as his actual WWE return, Hogan noted that it came about when Triple H saw him at a charity event in New York City a few years ago. He said Triple H approached him and asked him straight out, “when are you coming home?” Hogan said that he mentioned to Triple H that he didn’t think Vince McMahon wanted him back, but Triple H assured him that he did. Hogan noted that TNA public relations executive Mike Weber was standing right next to him when Triple H was talking to him.
Hogan again dropped the “never say never” line when asked about working one final match, but did note that he wouldn’t ever be able to do his trademark leg drop again.
When the subject of The Ultimate Warrior came up, Hogan mentioned that he and Warrior don’t communicate much these days, but did say that he’s excited to see him be inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame this year.
You can watch the complete appearance of Hogan on the show by going to HuffingtonPost.com.
While there have been some rumors that the reason WWE is inducting Scott Hall as “Razor Ramon” to the WWE Hall Of Fame this year is because they plan to induct him again as Scott Hall next year as part of a faction-induction with the nWo, that likely won’t be the case, at least not in 2015.
From all accounts, it appears as though WWE is hoping to induct The Rock next year, and the guys in the nWo (Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) probably won’t want to be inducted the same year as Rock, as they would likely be featured as the “co-main event” of the ceremony with The Rock being the obvious headliner.
