Hulk Hogan Reinstated Into the WWE Hall of Fame

Hulk Hogan is officially back in the WWE Hall of Fame.

The 64-year old former superstar had been removed from the WWE Hall of Fame and virtually anything else to do with the company after he used racial slurs in a sex tape that was released back in 2015.

The video showed Hogan making racial slurs regarding his daughter’s then boyfriend, who was black, and it cost him a relationship with the WWE.

Hogan made numerous public apologies for his racist remarks as he attempted to rehabilitate his image after the tape was released.

While the two sides remained at odds ever since, there have been plenty of rumors recently that WWE was moving towards a reconciliation with Hogan and now it appears at least one piece of that puzzle is back in place.

“After a three-year suspension, Hulk Hogan has been reinstated into the WWE Hall of Fame,” WWE officials wrote in a statement released on Sunday. “This second chance follows Hogan’s numerous public apologies and volunteering to work with young people, where he is helping them learn from his mistake. These efforts led to a recent induction into the Boys & Girls Clubs of America Alumni Hall of Fame.”

It’s unknown at this time if Hogan’s re-entry into the WWE Hall of Fame will bring him back into the company’s fold in a larger role such as making appearances or potentially working on television again.

There had been rumors that Hogan could potentially appear at an upcoming WWE pay-per-view but again nothing has been confirmed at this time.

At least for now, Hogan is back in the WWE Hall of Fame and will likely find himself reinstated on the WWE’s website and company material after being completely removed for the past three years.

Did the WWE make the right call to reinstate Hulk Hogan into the Hall of Fame? Sound off in the comments and let us know!

Edge & Christian Induct The Dudley Boyz Into The WWE Hall Of Fame (Photos, Videos)

WWE’s Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony aired tonight on the WWE Network. Jerry “The King” Lawler hosted the event and was greeted with “Jerry” chants from the crowd in attendance. The Dudley Boyz were the first Superstars to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame during the ceremony.

Edge and Christian inducted Bubba Ray and D-von Dudley. Christian stated that 5 years ago that he watched Edge get inducted into the Hall of Fame and that he knew that this day would come for him. Edge interrupted and said that Christian was trying to induct himself into the Hall of Fame. Edge joked that Christian wasn’t going in the Hall of Fame, you are inducting again. The crowd chanted “you deserve it!” at Christian.

Christian said that wasn’t what he was trying to say and brought up the Dudley Boyz. Edge poked fun at internet fans for flipping out that Paul Heyman wasn’t inducting the Dudleyz and told them to relax because mom’s macaroni and cheese is still waiting for them upstairs.

Edge stated there was two reason that they are inducting the Dudleyz:

  • We don’t owe them any money
  • We owe them a lot of receipts

Christian joked that they were the only two in the locker room that actually liked Bubba. Edge brought up ECW and Christian stated that ECW was the place that gave birth to the Dudley Boyz. Edge added that the Dudley Boyz would incite riots in ECW and helped build the company.

Edge brought up trying to build up WWE with Matt & Jeff Hardy and the The Hardys were shown in the crowd. Edge and Christian noted that the first test for the Dudley Boyz was the APA and they beat their asses. Ron Simmons was shown in the crowd and he grabbed a microphone and shouted “damn!”.

https://twitter.com/totaldivaseps/status/982411784505217024

Edge added that there is no E&C or Hardys without the Dudley Boyz. Edge joked that there were five fearless wrestlers and then Devon. Christian noted that they created TLC and that match would later become a PPV. Christian stated that they all decided that they weren’t getting paid enough for the TLC match and addressed it with Jim Ross. Jim Ross replied with “you felt like your pay was a little soft?”. Edge did his best Bubba impression and said that Bubba Ray responded with “J.R., I feel like I just got kicked in the nuts”. Edge admitted that they did get a bump in pay following that meeting.

Edge noted that the Dudley Boyz have won more Tag Team Championships than any other team in the history of this industry. Christian and Edge put on some Dudley Boyz glasses and Edge instructed Christian to get the Dudleys.

Bubba and D-von shared a hug with Edge and Christian and put on the glasses they were wearing. D-von stated that it was an honor and a privilege, but Bubba quickly interrupted and told D-von that he just says “testify!” and that was all he has to do. D-von responded that he was office now and Bubba cracked up. D-von noted that he may have gotten the tables for 20 years, but now he tells Bubba when to speak, talk and when to move. D-von told Bubba to get his ass in line because he is going first and is about to testify.

Bubba once again interrupted and said that he sometimes gets a text from the boys that reads “D-von is my producer LOL”. D-von stated that they are just glad that Bubba is not their producer. Bubba immediately responded that if he was their match might get over and started laughing. D-von claimed that he was the one that got them over when they were in the ring.

D-von brought up Hulk Hogan and said that he mesmerized him as child and made him want to become a professional wrestler. D-von added that he tried to look like Hogan, hell he had the tan. D-von admitted that he even tried to get his hair to look like Hogan’s growing, but realized later on in life they pretty much have the same hairdo. D-von brought up Roddy Piper, Macho Man, Steamboat and Andre the Giant and added that he knew at that point that he wanted to be the guy he saw on TV. D-von noted that he didn’t have a dad growing up and said that he told his sons that were in the crowd that one day they will be able look up at him being honored and say “that is my father”.

https://twitter.com/totaldivaseps/status/982413765093351425

D-von said that he could talk about his momma for about 30 minutes, not as long as MR. T, but he could go on and on. He stated that they made it through moving out of Brooklyn and moving on up like the Jeffersons and they never looked back. D-von added that he was honored and privileged to say that he loves his mother and his mom blew him a kiss in the crowd. D-von added that his sons were the reasons why he took the ass kickings that he took during his career. D-von continued that his sons are wrestling themselves and they are going to follow in the footsteps of their father and their uncle.

D-von thanked Bubba and stated that he couldn’t have done it with anyone else besides him. He added that he wasn’t just his brother in the wrestling business, but he was his brother in life and then shook his hand. D-von then said “Bubba, now you can talk” and Bubba made his way to the microphone.

Bubba said that he didn’t know if he could follow him for once. Bubba noted how important family was to them. Bubba stated that he wished his mom and dad could be here today because they would have loved it. Bubba said that he did the closest thing he possibly could and took out their in memoriam cards. He said that he was in the front row when Jimmy Snuka jumped off the steel cage in Madison Square Garden and said that he and D-von were die hard WWE/WWF fans. D-von claimed that Bubba cant say the “F word” and Bubba responded “sorry sir, that will never happen again sir”.

Bubba added that he went to go see WrestleMania 3 and as he was walking out of the arena with his dad and his uncle, his dad asked him how he liked the show. Bubba responded “that is going to be me one day”. Bubba said that his uncle was here tonight and he told him to shut up and get in the car. Bubba flaunted his HOF ring and Bubba’s uncle was shown in the crowd laughing.

Bubba stated that tonight was vindication for them for all the hard work they have done. Bubba added that they are the most proud of being the first original ECW act to be inducted into the WWE HOF. Bubba pointed out Tommy Dreamer in the crowd and he got a great reaction. Bubba thanked the entire ECW roster and every man and woman that stepped in the ring with them. He thanked Paul Heyman for listening to them when they asked to be put together as a team. They thanked Spike as well and said that he was the toughest 150 lb man in the ECW locker room. D-von thanked him for everything that he put his body though to help make the Dudley Boyz.

Bubba thanked every team that wrestled with them because they needed them to help get  over. Bubba added that the Sex Pistols “My Way” song sums up their career because they did things their way. D-von then thanked Tommy Dreamer and said that he remembers him being there when he had his tryout in ECW. D-von added that Dreamer helped him along the way so much and thanked him from the bottom of his heart. Devon added that their are so many wrestlers here tonight that he did that for and said that he loved him from the bottom of his heart. Bubba thanked Dreamer once again and then brought up the future misses Dudley, Velvet Sky. Bubba thanked her for being here tonight and his partner in life.

Bubba said that the first time he ever met Vince was at an airport in NYC. He saw Vince and Linda right behind him and said hello to them. Bubba didn’t know if Vince remembered him and Vince did and stated that he was looking forward to working with them. D-von brought up Simmons and Bradshaw and APA was shown in the crowd. D-von brought up introducing himself to Ron and Simmons kept saying his name wrong and always called him that. D-von added that APA gave them the stamp of approval to the locker room. D-von brought up the Reverend gimmick and Bubba told him to not bring that up and to wrap it up.

Bubba thanked Mae Young and claimed that she got the Dudley Boyz over more than anyone else. Bubba said that he will never forget the first night they slammed her and hit the What’s Up?” headbutt. Mae grabbed Bubba after they were done and said “hey hot shot, if you are going to slam me, you slam me like one of the boys” Bubba then called Mae Young the toughest man he has ever met in his life.

Edge, Christian, Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy then joined the Dudley Boyz on the stage. Bubba noted that they have not been in the same place at the same time since TLC II. He added that it was the 6 of them that created their history together. Bubba noted that sometimes the wrestling business can be bitter and selfish, and said that they wouldn’t be standing here today without everybody that was on the stage right now. The Hardys, Edge & Christian and The Dudley Boyz then posed on the stage.

D-Von was about to continue to speak when the Dudley Boyz theme hit. A “producer” came out from the back and told them to wrap it up. Bubba and D-Von started arguing with the producer and then Bubba grabbed him. Bubba told D-Von to get the tables and the crowd chanted along. D-Von set up a table and the Dudleys Powerbomed him through the table as the crowd erupted. D-Von then said “oh my brother testify!” and the Dudley Boyz posed on the stage.

WWE Appears To Take Notice Of Fabulous Moolah Backlash, Why WWE Doesn’t Have A Physical Hall Of Fame

– We’ve noted that the Fabulous Moolah Memorial Battle Royal announcement from WWE has received a ton of backlash from the professional wrestling world. Fans were so upset they started a petition to have the name changed, a petition that has received nearly 10,000 signatures. WWE seems to be aware of the backlash from fans now, as they have turned off commenting abilities on their YouTube video about the Battle Royal:

– Wrestling Observer Newsletter’s Dave Meltzer was recently asked on Twitter why the WWE doesn’t have an actual, physical WWE Hall Of Fame. Meltzer responded by saying Vince McMahon doesn’t see the economic value in it and nobody else has offered to ‘foot the bill’:

Kid Rock To Be Inducted Into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2018

Kid Rock will officially join the WWE Hall of Fame after being announced as the celebrity inductee for the 2018 class.

WWE announced the news on Monday via Billboard with Kid Rock being the latest member of the 2018 class that also includes Goldberg, the Dudley Boyz, Jeff Jarrett, Ivory and Hillbilly Jim with the induction ceremony taking place on Friday, April 6 during WrestleMania 34 weekend in New Orleans.

“Every time I go to a WWE event I always have a good time; there is nothing like it and no better fans in the world,” Kid Rock said about his induction. “The Hall of Fame ceremony will be a fun night and it will be great to see everyone again. I have so much respect for what those guys and girls do.

“I’m grateful to WWE for letting me be a part of WrestleMania weekend.”

Kid Rock has been a mainstay with WWE after performing at WrestleMania 25 as well as also making an appearance at a WWE Tribute for the Troops show in 2012.

Kid Rock also famously had his song “American Bad Ass” serve as the entrance music for The Undertaker during his stint where he was portrayed as an outlaw biker during part of his career with WWE. Kid Rock’s music was also used for Stacy Kiebler while she was performing in WWE as well.

Kid Rock is the latest celebrity inductee for the WWE Hall of Fame where he joins past recipients such as Snoop Dogg, Mike Tyson, and President Donald Trump.

Kid Rock will appear alongside the rest of the inductees at the ceremony on Friday, April 6 ahead of WrestleMania 34. There’s no word yet if Kid Rock will also perform that weekend.

Karen Jarrett Reacts To Jeff Jarrett’s WWE Hall of Fame Induction

Following last week’s announcement that Jeff Jarrett will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2018, his wife Karen revealed her thoughts on this prestigious honor in a lengthy post on Instagram.

While Karen is overwhelmed with happiness for her husband, she also calls out those in the wrestling industry who showed ‘disrespect and disregard’ for ‘his knowledge, vision, passion, and experience’ for the past seven years (Karen returned to TNA in January 2011 with Jeff after starting a relationship in 2009).

Karen also admits to being outspoken over the years, but it is only because she demands respect for her husband. However, she now feels that those struggles helped both of them grow.

Here is her post:

“The last few nights I have been catching up on social media, news ect…about @realjeffjarrett and I have to say my ❤️ is overflowing with Happiness for him.

“For 7 years I have watched individuals that had NEVER watched wrestling and had NO CLUE about the business behind the scenes or in the ring disrespect and disregard his knowledge, vision, passion and experience. As a wife it is very difficult to watch this and not be able to do something.

“I developed a reputation of being out spoken and a Bitch thru these years from speaking up and demanding respect for my husband. Now I know All those struggles happened for a reason. They helped not just Jeff but also myself grow as a person and taught us many lessons of life, family, friendships, our marriage and business.

“Watching the videos, reading the posts on social media, reading the articles on websites, watching the news ect…NO WORDS can express the JOY it brings to my heart for JEFF!!! He is so humble and never credits himself for the good that he has done or the success he has had in this business. He ALWAYS gives the credit to someone else or puts someone else over and takes the attention off himself. But he is the first to stand up when a mistake has been made and say my fault take the blame and do his best to change or fix things.

“THANK YOU to EVERY single wrestler, promoter, fan, reporter, radio station, news station everyone across the board in this business and outside of this business that has spoke out showing Jeff who he is to you, what he has accomplished in your eyes, how he has impacted your life, what you learned and took w/ you from your time with him, the joy he brought to you as a fan whether you were loving or hating him at the time. I applaud and send love to every single one of you and again say thank you!!!

“I am going to continue to enjoy being quiet watching, listening and smiling as @realjeffjarrett gets the respect and recognition he so deserves!!! #ainthegreat #WWE2018HOF #itishistime #grateful”

Ivory Announced for WWE Hall of Fame

Ivory has been announced as the latest member of the WWE Hall of Fame’s Class of 2018.

Ivory’s Career in Wrestling

Lisa Mary Moretti (aka Ivory) got her start in pro-wrestling in 1986 when she auditioned for the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling television show. Despite having no prior wrestling experience, Moretti was one of the women chosen. The Netflix series “GLOW” is based on the experiences of women who were on the show.

After training for six weeks, Moretti adopted the ring name Tina Ferrari and performed on the show. GLOW ended in 1992 and she would wrestle sparingly with other promotions after. In 1999, however, she returned to pro-wrestling in a big way when she signed with WWE. The promotion would rename her “Ivory”.

Ivory was the perfect heel woman in WWE’s Attitude Era. She would win the WWE (then WWF) women’s championship on 3 occasions before opting not to renew her contract with the company in 2005.

The 56-year old now runs a pet-sitting and grooming business in Washington State.

Ivory joins Bill Goldberg and the Dudley Boyz in the Class of 2018.

Jim Cornette To Induct The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express Into The WWE Hall Of Fame

Legendary wrestling manager Jim Cornette will be the man to induct the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express into the WWE Hall of Fame. Cornette’s Midnight Express feuded with the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express throughout the 1980’s. Cornette briefly aligned with his longtime rivals in WWE during the Attitude Era during the “NWA invasion” angle back in 1998.

“Between the ’80s with The Midnight Express and the ’90s with The Heavenly Bodies, and then in the 2000s on the reunions with The Midnights, I think only Bobo Brazil and The Sheik had a longer-running rivalry,” Cornette told WWE.com. “And I still haven’t put an end to Rock ‘n’ Roll! I haven’t been able to do it, so I guess I have to roll over and induct them.”

Cornette has been very critical of WWE over the years, so his involvement is a welcomed surprise. Many saw Cornette as the most appropriate inductor for Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson, but his rocky relationship with WWE made it seem like a distant possibility.

“By any standard, Ricky and Robert belong in the Hall of Fame,” Cornette told WWE.com. “And that’s whether its longevity as a team, the attendance records they set, or the great matches that they had, which fans can still see on WWE Network.”

The 2017 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony takes place on Friday night, March 31st from Orlando, FL.

Diamond Dallas Page Entering The WWE Hall Of Fame

Diamond Dallas Page has been announced as the latest member of the WWE Hall of Fame. The news was first reported by Rolling Stone.

Page was a 3-time WCW Champion and was one of the company’s top home grown stars during the Monday Night Wars. He later had a brief stint in WWE during the Invasion angle and held the now defunct European Championship. After his in ring career, DDP founded DDP Yoga, a health and wellness program that has transformed the lives of countless people, including WWE Hall of Famers Jake Roberts and Scott Hall.

DDP spoke with Rolling Stone about the induction and revealed that Triple H told broke the news to him back in October.

“We were filming Positively Living, the Diamond Dallas Page three-DVD set. I’m a Jersey boy, so I was on the Jersey Shore in my hometown, and it was the end of the day and we were filming one more thing. They handed me the phone and said, “Boss wants to talk to you.” It’s HHH.

I called him a couple weeks earlier and he hadn’t gotten back to me yet, so I thought this was that return call. So we’re talking about casual stuff, and then I start to hear him talk about my career and where I’ve been and how I got here, and then it hits me – is this that call? I’m not a guy who has trouble talking, but I couldn’t talk. Tears are running down the sides of my cheeks and I just said, ‘Bro, I love you man.'”

DDP joins Teddy Long, The Rock ‘N’ Roll Express and headliner Kurt Angle as confirmed inductees for this year.

You can watch the official WWE Hall Of Fame video package for “The Rock ‘N’ Roll Express” Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson above.

The wrestling legends spoke with CBS Sports on Monday at this link and admitted that the call from WWE caught them off guard. Morton called it a dream come true and both expressed interest in wrestling for WWE again as they continue to work indy matches each week.

“It was a surprise,” Morton told CBS Sports. “I had a message on my phone [from WWE] to call the number back. I think they got ahold of Robert at the time. When they called, it was just like a suckerpunch. It just knocked us off our feet.”

“It’s an honor for Ricky and me to go into the hall of fame,” Gibson added.

Meanwhile, past and present WWE Superstars congratulated the guys on Twitter and spoke about the impact they had on the business:

“I was shocked. I’ve been out of WWE for a long time and out of touch with them so I didn’t really expect this,” Angle said to ESPN. “It’s a huge honor. This is the only Hall of Fame that I’m not in and probably [the one] I want to be in the most. This is the one that means the most for me. I had a lot of fun entertaining the fans for seven years with WWE, and I’m glad that my hard work paid off.”

Angle had been out of the company for over a decade, since the Summer of 2006, when he was released after a meeting where it was demanded that he enter drug rehabilitation for a painkiller addiction. The Olympic Gold medalist soon went to TNA Wrestling, working there for a decade before departing last year.  Angle eventually went to rehab while in TNA, cleaning up and being open about the root of his addiction, which likely helped open the door with WWE.

Paul “Triple H” Levesque told WWE.com that “Kurt Angle’s accomplishments both in the Olympics and WWE were extraordinary.“ He added that Angle “was one of the most gifted athletes to ever enter the ring, and we are honored to welcome him into the WWE Hall of Fame.”

In speaking with ESPN, Angle revealed that he has not spoken to WWE about working any matches.

“We have not talked about any wrestling,” he said. “Whether we do or not, that remains to be seen… There are no guarantees. I think right now the most important thing is the Hall of Fame — and I think both sides feel that way.”

With so many years having gone by since he was part of the WWE family, Angle wasn’t sure if this day would ever come.

“I figured they either decided they didn’t want to do anything with me or they forgot,” he told ESPN. “Hunter said they never forgot and he called and told me this is the first thing they want to do. And whether I wrestle or not after this — which is irrelevant right now — I’m just really proud to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. I gave a lot of energy and time to WWE those first seven years, and I’m grateful that they recognized it.”

More Rumored Names For The WWE Hall Of Fame

WrestleMania weekend and the 2017 WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony are less than three months away and we’ve got more rumored names for this year’s HOF class.

You’ve probably heard by now that Diamond Dallas Page and the late “Ravishing” Rick Rude will be entering the Hall this year. In addition to these very-deserving names, the following legends were mentioned as upcoming inductees on a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Live:

  • William Regal
  • Christian
  • The Natural Disasters (Earthquake & Typhoon)
  • Mike Rotunda (IRS)

There’s also been some speculation that The Undertaker will be this year’s headliner, but we’re not totally sold on that idea. The Dead Man was part of yesterday’s WrestleMania 34 press conference from New Orleans and it doesn’t seem like he’ll be retiring this year.

Could The Rock Be Inducted Into The WWE Hall Of Fame Next Year In Orlando?

Since returning to WWE in 2011, The Rock has appeared at each Wrestlemania over the past five years. He hasn’t wrestled a real match on the grandest stage of them all since Wrestlemania 29 in 2013, but he’s had three huge promos and interacted with many different personalities and added something to the show.

Next year, Wrestlemania 33 hails from Orlando, not far from Rock’s hometown of Miami. The latest ads for WrestleMania 33 feature both The Rockand there are reports going around he’ll be making more than just a cameo appearance at the event.

Wrestlemania 33 could present an interesting situation for The Rock in Orlando. It could be the perfect place for The People’s Champion to enter wrestling immortality and become a WWE Hall of Famer in during Wrestlemania weekend. As the highest paid movie star in the world, the sexiest man walking God’s green earth and a potential Presidential candidate, The Rock is on top of the world. A Hall of Fame induction sounds like a great way to involve The Rock in a meaningful way and honor not only his time in the business, but his willingness to give back and return to WWE when he certainly didn’t have to.

First and foremost, he may give the greatest induction speech in history. Not only that, but there are many people that could induct him into the WWE Hall of Fame. Stone Cold Steve Austin, Vince McMahon, Triple H, and others would add additional hype to the ceremony and make it must see.

More On Why WWE Is Making WrestleMania Weekend Scheduling Changes

For the past few years, Wrestlemania weekend has become a full four-day extravaganza. Traditionally, the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony took place on Saturday night, Wrestlemania on Sunday, and then Raw on Monday night. This year was the first time WWE had an NXT Takeover special on Friday night as well. Next year’s Wrestlemania 33 weekend from Orlando will see more changes to the four-day weekend.

The new schedule calls for the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony on Friday night, NXT Takeover on Saturday, and then Wrestlemania and Raw will go on as usual. There are many benefits to the new schedule, but the reasoning is said to be mostly for convenience. In previous years, NXT would be set up in a different arena. With the old schedule, the staff would have to set up NXT Takeover, take it down to set up the Hall of Fame, and then set up for Raw on Monday.

The new schedule means the staff will set up the Hall of Fame, take it down, and then set up for NXT, Raw, and SmackDown. It’ll be a much easier process for everyone involved for the grueling five-day schedule.
