-Curtis Axel def. Zack Ryder. The WWE Intercontinental Champion picked up the “W” in this one by way of his neckbreaker face-plant finishing move.

-The Real Americans def. Tons Of Funk. Surprisingly enough, the Real Americans were pretty over here in Louisiana. WWE SUMMERSLAM SPOILERS

SmackDown Preview: Possible Spoiler, Final SummerSlam Hype, Coverage Note

WWE SmackDown and WWE Main Event will be taped in San Jose, California tonight.

No official matches or segments have been announced thus far for the show. The main focus on tonight’s taping will be the final hype for the top matches heading into Sunday’s SummerSlam pay-per-view.

Specific to the SmackDown brand, WWE will focus heavily on the Alberto Del Rio vs. Christian World Heavyweight Championship match, as well as the Damien Sandow vs. Cody Rhodes and Dean Ambrose vs. Rob Van Dam match for the U.S. Title.

It should also be noted that Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns issued a challenge to any team to face them for the World Tag-Team Championships at SummerSlam. With Big Show cleared for in-ring action and returning on RAW during a segment with Mark Henry last night, one could assume they will go forward with the Show/Henry vs. Rollins/Reigns match for SummerSlam.

The advertised roster for tonight’s tapings includes: Alberto Del Rio, Randy Orton, Daniel Bryan, Dolph Ziggler, Rob Van Dam, Mark Henry, The Shield, Sandow, Rhodes, Wade Barrett, Big E. Langston and A.J. Lee.

-The Shield defeated Mark Henry and The Usos. Pretty long match. Went about 15 minutes. The Usos took turns in the ring for the babyfaces early on, mostly selling the beatdown being laid on them by The Shield. Eventually, Henry got the hot tag and the crowd popped for him pretty huge. In the end, the babyfaces got the victory.

-Natalya defeated Aksana. Not the greatest match you’ll ever see, but pretty much what you’d expect from a Divas match. In the end, Natalya forced Aksana to tap out to the Sharpshooter. Match went about five minutes or so.

-Curtis Axel defeated Sin Cara. Another lengthy match, a little under ten minutes. The crowd stuck with it despite it being the second of two pretty long matches early on in a long night of tapings. In the end, Axel picked up the victory with his finisher.

WWE taped Main Event for next week prior to filming next week’s SmackDown at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas on Thursday evening. Below are complete spoiler results.

-The Wyatt Family defeated Tons Of Funk.

Lots of heat from the fans in Houston for the Wyatts. Erick Rowan hit a big splash on Brodus Clay. After that, Bray Wyatt got out of his rocking chair and finished off Clay. Wyatt then cut another one of his promos on Kane. Not a typical dark match, although they could have been re-taping a television match, as they had the SmackDown ring apron and lighting for this match.

WWE Main Event Taping

-The WWE broadcast team of JBL and Josh Mathews were introduced for the Main Event television taping, which is set to begin momentarily …

-Wade Barrett defeated R-Truth

Barrett and Truth are up first for Main Event. The crowd is pretty hot, as they eventually got into this match, especially when Truth was firing up on offense. Truth hit an axe kick and powerbomb out of the corner on Barrett. He tried to dive through the ropes but Barrett hit the Bullhammer Elbow and picked up the pinfall victory.

-The Usos defeated The Prime Time Players

The Usos were in control of the offense of the match for pretty much the duration of the bout. Once Titus O’Neil tagged in, the Prime Time Players mounted a bit of offense, but it was short-lived as The Usos ultimately pinned O’Neil to pick up the victory.

Mark Henry defeated Drew McIntyre

The World’s Strongest Man picked up the pinfall in what amounted to basically a squash match victory over the 3MB member.
