  • Doctor Comments On Cara’s Injury, Del Rio Reacts To Title Loss

    – According to WWE doctor Michael Sampson, Sin Cara suffered a patella tendon rupture when he jumped out of the ring during the Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Tag Team Match at Survivor Series.

    — WWE.com has posted video of Alberto Del Rio reacting to his WWE Championship loss backstage at Survivor Series. The Mexican grappler claims he was robbed by CM Punk, dismissed interim Raw General Manager John Laurinaitis, and took shots at the Hispanic population. It loosely points to how Del Rio will attempt to get his heat back on Raw following the title match loss.

  • VIDEO: The Rock’s Promo After Survivor Series

Not only did The Rock score the pin over R-Truth in his tag bout against The “Awesome Truth” at Survivor Series but he nailed his WrestleMania opponent, John Cena, with a Rock Bottom after the match. He then spoke to the Madison Square Garden audience following the pay-per-view broadcast.

He started off his speech by saying “Can The Rock get some water? Jesus Christ!” The Rock told a ringside attendant “You better give The Rock some water, or I’ll kick your monkey ass.”

A loud chant then broke out with half the crowd chanting “You still got it!” while the other half chanted “Welcome back!” The Rock told the audience “to make up their damn minds.” He then addressed one-half of the crowd by saying “As far as you still got it, shit, I always had it!”

A “We want Ryder” chant then broke out. The Rock said “Yeah, I love him. I can’t believe how tall that son of a bitch is!”

A fan in the crowd yelled “Are you gonna cry?!” and The Rock responded, “Hell no! I’ll put boots to asses before I cry! There must be some good weed in NYC for people to ask if The Rock is gonna cry!”

The Rock continued speaking by saying that he came to entertain the fans tonight. He thanks them all and says tonight was the greatest night in the history of his WWE career. He says tonight is only the beginning and “the money isn’t that bad either.”

The Rock thanks the fans once more and says goodnight. He spent a lot of time shaking hands around ringside, including the announcers and attendants.

  • JBL Declines Survivor Series Invite, Maryse & The Miz, More

    — Former WWE Champion John “Bradshaw” Layfield stated on Twitter that he declined WWE’s invitation to appear at Survivor Series

Layfield wrote, “Not at Survivor Series and not watching-too late for me. 15 years ago my SS debut Tim White counted me out by mistake! Big screw up! It was my big push and Tim White counted 3 by mistake, first time ear pieces were used and someone was in his ear. Killed my push:)

He continued, “I’m not watching cause it’s too late for me-got early morning tee time in Bermuda! Was asked if I was available by WWE, but I’m not. #golf”

    — Former WWE Diva Maryse Ouellet traveled with The Miz to New York City this weekend. The couple also attended Google and T-Mobile’s launch party for Google Music last Wednesday in Los Angeles, California.

  • Sin Cara To Be Sidelined For Several Months

The official Twitter feed of the WWE Insider stated this evening that Sin Cara suffered a ruptured patellar tendon and will be sidelined for six to nine months, following surgery.

The masked grappler suffered the injury while performing a dive outside the ring during the Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Tag Team Match. He was left unable to compete and therefore eliminated.

  • Survivor Series Headliner Reportedly Violated WWE’s Drug Policy

Evan Bourne’s suspension for his first violation of WWE’s Talent Wellness Program has generated a great deal of controversy amongst talent as some feel a double standard is in place.

Bourne, who’s real name is Matthew Korklan, was suspended for thirty days on November 1, 2011 after testing positive for Spice, a synthetic marijuana brand. Wrestling Observer editor Dave Meltzer reports Bourne and another wrestler higher up the card smoked the marijuana substitute drug at a party, yet he was the only one of the two to be suspended. The other wrestler was told he had failed for marijuana, which results in a $2,500 fine, as opposed to a thirty-day suspension for synthetic marijuana.

According to the Wrestling Globe Newsletter, the wrestler in question is a participant in tonight’s Survivor Series match featuring John Cena and The Rock against R-Truth and The Miz.

This has led to questions about whether WWE’s drug testing procedure is flawed or whether talent are treated differently depending on their status in the organization.

This would not be the first time in which WWE reprieved a top-level talent who had violated their Talent Wellness Program. On August 30, 2007, Sports Illustrated named Randy Orton as one of fourteen contracted and former WWE performers to have purchased pharmaceuticals from an online pharmacy (Signature Pharamacy), a violation of the Talent Wellness Program. Specifically, Orton received somatropin, nandrolone, stanozolol between September 2004 and February 2007, which occurred after the “no drugs from online sources” rule was instituted. However, Orton was the lone contracted performer not to be suspended by WWE. Wrestling Observer editor Dave Meltzer reported that WWE did not suspend Orton because he had already been suspended for a drug policy violation in August 2006, resulting in double jeopardy. The ruling, however, appeared nonsensical since Orton continued to receive pharmaceuticals following the suspension. WWE attorney Jerry McDevitt claimed last year in a letter to Irv Muchnick that “no action was taken against Randy Orton because he was not on any customer list for Signature Pharmacy ever provided to us by District Attorney Soares.”

    — WWE announced Thursday that the Divas Championship Match between Beth Phoenix and Eve at Sunday’s Survivor Series pay-per-view will be a Lumberjill Match.

WWE explains: “The Divas Championship Match at Survivor Series should be a one-on-one affair. However, nothing in this rivalry has been evenly contested, thanks to the underhanded tactics of The Glamazon and Natalya. Now, the decks will be stacked a little more equally, as Kelly Kelly, Alicia Fox, Natalya and the rest of the WWE Divas will be ringside to make sure the action stays in the ring.”

    — John Cena says family business caused him to be scratched from his scheduled appearance this Saturday on ESPN’s College GameDay.

  • Raw GM Responds To CM Punk, Boogeyman Wants To Get Raw

    — As per Interim Raw General Manager John Laurinaitis, if CM Punk can defeat World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry on Monday’s Raw SuperShow, he’ll face Alberto Del Rio for the WWE Championship at Survivor Series.

Laurinaitis stated to WWE.com: “After giving this CM Punk situation serious consideration, I’ve reached a decision. In my deliberations as Executive Vice President of Talent Relations and Interim General Manager of Raw, I concluded that although Punk is extremely talented, he has lost several matches recently. As a result, I’ve decided that he must prove he’s worthy of a WWE Title opportunity. This Monday night, Punk must compete against World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry. If Punk wins, he will face Alberto Del Rio for the WWE Championship at Survivor Series. I wish both men a good match.”

    — Former WWE talent Marty Wright (a/k/a The Boogeyman) is reportedly persuading WWE colleagues for a cameo appearance on Monday’s Halloween themed Raw SuperShow. He remains in good shape at 47 years old and has continued to appear in character since parting ways with the organization in 2009.

  • Mick Foley Auctioning Lunch Over Survivor Series Weekend

Mick Foley is auctioning off tickets to the Survivor Series in New York City and lunch with the Hardcore Legend himself, with proceeds going to Hurricane Irene victims.

His latest blog has now been posted on RealMickFoley.com. Here’s an excerpt:

“Yes, I am setting up a pretty decent auction, with 100% (minus mailing costs) going to help out Vermonters suffering in the wake of flooding caused by Hurricane Irene. This might not be my very best stuff, like the Cactus Jack leopard boots and Hell in a Cell shirt, since that type of auction reminds me of Daffy Duck playing the harp, having emerged the victor in the big bump contest with Bugs Bunny – acknowledging Bugs’s accolades; sadly saying “I know, I know, but I can only do it once” on his way up to heaven. Still, this is going to be a good auction; it’s going to raise some money for some people who really need it, and it’s going to show the wrestling community in a favorable light – which is always important to me. With the exception of a couple of big items, like the Survivor Series vacation package, most of these items should come in under the $100 mark, making them a possibility for far more fans. Wait, check that – the historic Foley Juggalos ICP jersey I wore for this past Gathering might bring in some serious cash. One might have to be a Big Money Hustla just to get his/her hands on it! Yeah, I know, that was weak.”

  • Big Main Event Planned For Survivor Series

The Rock Returns to the ring at Survivor Series

EXCLUSIVE: Which Big Names are Planned for the Huge Survivor Series Match This Year?

It’s already been announced that The Rock will be making his in-ring return to WWE at Survivor Series for the first time since WrestleMania 20 – as he teams with his scheduled WrestleMania 28 opponent John Cena.

According to a reliable source who has provided us with several accurate scoops in previous months, Rock and Cena will be teaming together as part of a blockbuster main event match at Survivor Series that will see a “Team WWE” vs. “Team Anti-WWE.”

The anti-WWE team is not fully known at this time but will feature “future endeavored” superstars such as Kevin Nash, The Miz and R-Truth. WWE Chairman Vince McMahon has also been rumored to be a member of the Anti-WWE team.

Team WWE would feature The Rock, John Cena, Triple H and at least one more “mega star” – with The Undertaker and even “Stone Cold” Steve Austin discussed as possible participants.

While Steve Austin coming out of retirement for this match is a long shot, Austin’s involvement would take the star power and signifcance of this match to unprecedented heights.

Our source was quoted as saying, “The Rock and Cena feud has been featured on screen and on twitter. Stone Cold and Punk rivalry has been acknowledged as well, it would be a great fit they get everyone together.”

The source did say they feel if Austin was to be on this team with Punk at Survivor Series, the chances of him performing in a big singles match at WrestleMania 28 would e significantly. Austin has never ruled out getting in the ring again but wants things to be the right situation. The Undertaker would be the more likely option as most in the company are expecting him to come back sometime in the next couple months to get ready for WrestleMania.

  • WWE Considering Airing WrestleMania On Planned Cable Network

WWE issued a survey yesterday regarding their planned WWE Network launch next year to select mailing list subscribers. The survey suggests that WWE’s “classic big 4” pay-per-view events would be included in the channel at no additional cost.

Imagine a 24-hour cable network that was run by The WWE. It featured a mix of WWE-made programs, including new shows, repeats of Raw and SmackDown from USA and Syfy and “classic” or “historical” programs featuring shows from different promotions like classic WWE footage, WCW, ECW, NWA, AWA, etc. from years past.

It would have two new weekly WWE live in-ring shows (wrestling), but not SmackDown or Raw.

It would have a daily live in-studio viewer interactive show similar to SportsCenter.

Additionally, this network would include WWE’s “classic big 4” pay-per-view events including WrestleMania, SummerSlam, Survivor Series and Royal Rumble to the lineup at no additional cost. Rather than having to pay for them, they would now be specials with the same match quality you’re used to seeing on pay-per-view for no additional cost. These 4 events would only be available on The WWE Network.

In addition to The WWE Network, you would receive approximately 30 additional channels including NFL Network, NBA TV, Biography Channel, Fox Business Network and Fuel TV.

How interested would you be in upgrading your service for an additional $7-$12 per month to a tier which would include the WWE Network described above?
