Several Matches Announced For WWE Survivor Series

The card for next month’s WWE Survivor Series is taking shape.

Coming out of Monday’s Raw, we have six matches confirmed for the event. As we’ve been reporting for a few weeks, Survivor Series will have a ‘brand warfare’ theme, with the top champions from Raw and SmackDown squaring off.

The current card includes four inter-brand ‘Champion vs. Champion’ matches and two traditional 5-on-5 elimination matches:

  • WWE Champion Randy Orton vs. Universal Champion Roman Reigns (with Paul Heyman)
  • Raw Women’s Champion Asuka vs. SmackDown Women’s Champion Sasha Banks
  • Raw Tag Team Champions The New Day vs. SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Street Profits
  • United States Champion Bobby Lashley vs. Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn

WWE To Honor 30 Years of The Undertaker At Survivor Series

Rumored Matches For Survivor Series 2020

WWE Survivor Series 2020 is scheduled for November 22nd, 2020. No matches have been officially announced for the show but it is believed that the event will once again follow a brand-versus-brand format. Unlike last year, however, we may get a men’s singles champion vs men’s single’s champion match.

According to comments made by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, the plan at the moment is for Randy Orton vs Roman Reigns to headline the event.

This would also mean there are no plans to add the NXT champion to such a match. Finn Balor’s status as champion is up in the air at the moment, anyway, due to the broken jaw he suffered at TakeOver 31.

Last year’s event did not pit the men’s world champions against each other. Brock Lesnar defended his WWE Championship against Rey Mysterio and Bray Wyatt defended the Universal strap against Daniel Bryan.

WWE To Honor 30 Years of The Undertaker At Survivor Series

Women’s Champ vs. Champ vs. Champ?

If the RAW vs Smackdown vs NXT format takes place at this year’s event, it would also pit Sasha Banks vs Asuka vs Io Shirai. Some fans have expressed enthusiasm for such a match online.

Shayna Baszler defeated Becky Lynch and Bayley at Survivor Series 2019.

Rumored Retribution vs WWE Match At Survivor Series

Last month there were also rumors that Retribution would be involved in a big Survivor Series match against a WWE team. The faction is involved in a stable vs stable feud with the Hurt Business right now. Their rivalry could potentially culminate in a traditional Survivor Series match on the PPV.

Shayna Baszler Victorious At WWE Survivor Series

WWE booked a rare match that saw all of the female champions under the banner of the company and it took place on one night at Survivor Series.

This interesting match saw a battle between RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch, NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler, and SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley.

The contest served as the main event of Sunday’s (November 24, 2019) WWE Survivor Series pay-per-view event in Chicago, Illinois at the Allstate Arena on the WWE Network.

Baszler ended up winning the non-title triple threat match. As a result of this win, Baszler has all of the bragging rights. This marked the first time that the women’s champion from NXT was featured in the main event match of Survivor Series.

It’s interesting that it was featured among all of the interbrand matches at what is considered one of the big four events of the year for WWE along with WrestleMania, Royal Rumble, and SummerSlam.

WWE set up this match when they had Baszler invade the infamous November 1st episode of Friday Night SmackDown to attack Bayley. Since then, the women have appeared on episodes of each brand.

Brock Lesnar Retains WWE Title Over Rey Mysterio At Survivor Series

Brock Lesnar will remain the WWE Champion as he successfully retained the belt in his latest title defense.

He did so when he beat future WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio in a championship match at the WWE Survivor Series pay-per-view event.

This feud kicked off when Lesnar was involved in a program with former UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez where Mysterio served as his manager.

After Lesnar had retained the WWE Title over Velasquez at the Crown Jewel pay-per-view event on Halloween in Saudi Arabia, Mysterio hit Lesnar several times with a chair. Throughout this rivalry, Lesnar attacked Mysterio’s son, Dominic.

Moving along to the November 4th episode of RAW, Lesnar hunted down Mysterio for the first hour of the show where he attacked backstage workers.

Lesnar hit an F-5 to Dio Maddin through the announce table after Maddin confronted Lesnar. This is when Mysterio ran out and hit Lesnar several times with a pipe and eventually connected with a shot with the WWE Championship belt to Lesnar that left him laying.

Mysterio cut a promo about how he wants Lesnar and to take what’s most important to Lesnar, the WWE Title. This is when he challenged Lesnar for the title at the show.

Team SmackDown Wins Men’s Tag Match At WWE Survivor Series

This year’s Survivor Series event featured a Traditional Elimination Match for the male roster.

However, there was a slight change, not only was stars from Monday Night RAW and SmackDown featured, but for the first time ever, talent from NXT was featured.

Team RAW featured Seth Rollins, Randy Orton, Ricochet, Kevin Owens, Drew McIntyre while SmackDown had Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman, Shorty G, Ali and King Corbin, and NXT involved Tommaso Ciampa, Damian Priest, Matt Riddle, Keith Lee, WALTER.

At Sunday’s WWE Survivor Series pay-per-view event, Team SmackDown won the contest. The final three were Reigns, Rollins, and Lee with Reigns edging out Lee in the end to win.

This was the fourth straight year that WWE Chairman Vince McMahon had decided to do the brand vs. brand theme for one of the big four events of the year for the company.

Last year’s match in Los Angeles, California at the Staples Center saw Team RAW (Finn Balor, Braun Strowman, Bobby Lashley, Drew McIntyre & Dolph Ziggler) beat Team SmackDown (Jeff Hardy, Samoa Joe, Rey Mysterio, The Miz & Shane McMahon) in a Men’s Elimination Tag Team Match.

WWE will close the year out with the TLC pay-per-view event, which goes down on December 15, 2019 at Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Bray Wyatt Retains Universal Title At WWE Survivor Series

Bray Wyatt will remain the WWE Universal Champion.

‘The Fiend’ successfully retained the championship in his latest defense, which also marked his first one on a WWE special. He did so when he beat Daniel Bryan at Sunday’s Survivor Series pay-per-view event.

Wyatt attacked Bryan in an interview segment to start their program three weeks on SmackDown. The company confirmed the matchup two weeks ago on SmackDown during a Miz TV segment.

Dave Meltzer reported in a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Bryan wasn’t intended to be the #1 contender and challenge Wyatt for the title at this show.

Instead, The Miz was rumored to challenge Wyatt. Originally, Bryan was set for the Triple Threat Match with NXT North American Champion Roderick Strong and WWE United States Champion AJ Styles.

The idea would be to see Bryan beat Shinsuke Nakamura in order to add him to the match and become the Intercontinental Title. Bryan lost the WWE Title at WrestleMania 35 earlier this year to Kofi Kingston.

What are your thoughts on Bray Wyatt retaining the WWE Universal Title at the show? Was this the right call by WWE officials? Sound off in the comment section.

Adam Cole Retains NXT Title At WWE Survivor Series

Adam Cole was not dethroned as WWE NXT Champion by Pete Dunne.

In a rare instance, the top title in NXT, which is considered WWE’s third/developmental brand, was defended on the main card of one of the big four pay-per-view events – Survivor Series – on Sunday night in Chicago, Illinois at the Allstate Arena.

Cole successfully defended the title against Dunne. This comes after the two stars worked matches the previous night.

WWE held a match that would determine who was next in line for a title shot on Saturday night at the WWE NXT TakeOver: WarGames III event.

A Triple Threat Match between Pete Dunne, Killian Dain, and Damian Priest took place with the winner becoming the next challenger to Cole’s title. Dunne ended up winning it and thus this match was booked.

Also at this show, Tommaso Ciampa, Donovan Dijak, Keith Lee and Owens beat The Undisputed Era (Adam Cole, Bobby Fish, Roderick Strong & Kyle O’Reilly) in the men’s WarGames match that ended up serving as the headliner.

What are your thoughts on Adam Cole retaining the WWE NXT Title? Was this the right call by WWE officials? Sound off in the comment section.

Roderick Strong Victorious In Battle Of Secondary Champions At WWE Survivor Series

In a rare match, WWE had all of the secondary champions from Monday Night RAW, Friday Night SmackDown, and NXT battle it out inside of the squared circle.

At WWE Survivor Series pay-per-view event in Chicago, Illinois at the Allstate Arena on the WWE Network, the promotion did just that when they booked an interesting contest.

The bout had WWE United States Champion AJ Styles vs. NXT North American Champion Roderick Strong vs. WWE Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura.

These three stars battled it out in a non-title triple threat match that saw Strong win. Now, Strong has the bragging rights for the victory.

This marked the first time that a secondary champion from NXT was featured in a match at Survivor Series, which is considered one of the big four events of the year for WWE along with WrestleMania, Royal Rumble, and SummerSlam.

It’s been reported by Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com that Styles pitched for a matchup between The O.C. and NXT’s Undisputed Era to take place at Survivor Series. However, the idea was shot down.

Team NXT Wins Women’s Tag Match At WWE Survivor Series

This year’s Traditional 5-on-5-on-5 Elimination Match for the female roster at the Survivor Series event is in the books.

Alongside stars from Monday Night RAW and SmackDown, WWE decided to bring in NXT talent for the show, which was a first.

This was the third straight year that WWE Chairman Vince McMahon had decided to do the brand vs. brand theme with the women for one of the big four events of the year for the company.

As seen at Sunday’s WWE Survivor Series pay-per-view event in Chicago, Illinois at the Allstate Arena on the WWE Network, Team NXT won the contest. Ripley and Banks were the final two stars in the match.

Team RAW featured Charlotte Flair, Sarah Logan, Natalya, WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Asuka and Kairi Sane while SmackDown had Sasha Banks, Dana Brooke, Carmella, Lacey Evans, Nikki Cross, and NXT involved Rhea Ripley, Toni Storm, Bianca Belair, Candice LeRae and Io Shirai.

The 2018 version of the Survivor Series pay-per-view event in Los Angeles, California at the Staples Center saw Team RAW (Mickie James, Nia Jax, Tamina, Bayley, Sasha Banks) beat Team SmackDown (Naomi, Sonya Deville, Asuka, Carmella & Mandy Rose) in the Women’s Elimination Tag Team Match.

Daniel Bryan vs. Bray Wyatt Confirmed For WWE Survivor Series

A new match has been announced for the upcoming WWE Survivor Series PPV.

On Friday’s episode of SmackDown on FOX, the company confirmed that Bray Wyatt will make his next title defense as Universal Champion against Daniel Bryan.

This match was expected as Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the match was on the books to take place at the show.

This will mark Bray Wyatt’s first title defense and Bryan’s first opportunity to become the Universal Champion. Bryan lost the WWE Title at WrestleMania 35 earlier this year to Kofi Kingston.

Details On WWE Moving Original Survivor Series Match To TLC

News on one match involving a top feud that has been heavily featured on WWE Monday Night RAW that was supposed to take place at Survivor Series but pushed to a later date has surfaced online.

That match is Rusev vs. Bobby Lashley. This news comes after it was listed among the matches locally advertised to take place at the TLC pay-per-view event last month.

According to a report by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE had originally planned to announce this match for the Survivor Series pay-per-view event. However, plans changed and it was pushed back to TLC.

The reason why it was moved from Survivor series to TLC is due to the feeling that the show is already overloaded as most of the card has already been announced.

Details On Planned Title Match At WWE Survivor Series

The show being overloaded is caused by the 15-person Elimination Matches with WWE NXT, RAW and SmackDown teams. In theory, these matches would have to go 10 to 14 falls each.

Meltzer added that the current plans call for Rusev vs. Lashley to be a non-stipulation match at TLC.

As of this writing, there’s still no word yet on participants for the Team NXT men’s Triple Threat but NXT Champion Adam Cole will likely be the Captain. The reason for that belief is due to him not already being booked in a match that night.

Team RAW will feature Captain Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, Randy Orton, Ricochet and Drew McIntyre, while Team SmackDown will feature Captain Roman Reigns, Shorty G, Mustafa Ali, King Baron Corbin and Braun Strowman.

Details On Planned Title Match At WWE Survivor Series

News on plans for Daniel Bryan and the next challenger for WWE Universal Champion Bray Wyatt has surfaced online.

Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that a new match on the card that hasn’t been announced is indeed Wyatt, as The Fiend, defending the Universal Title against Bryan at WWE Survivor Series.

It was noted that the original belief was that Bryan was set for the Triple Threat Match with NXT North American Champion Roderick Strong and WWE United States Champion AJ Styles. The idea would be to have Bryan beat Shinsuke Nakamura for the Intercontinental Title in order to add him to the match.

This is why WWE started to tease a program involving Bryan, Nakamura, and Sami Zayn. Also, The Miz was rumored to challenge Wyatt for the title at Survivor Series, which would line up with advertisements for upcoming WWE house shows including Starrcade, but Bryan has been booked in that spot.

Possible Stipulation For Top Match At WWE TLC

This comes after Wyatt attacked Bryan in an interview segment to start their program last week on SmackDown. It was added that Nakamura at this point is not scheduled to drop the title and has been put into this three-way match.

As of this writing, there’s no word yet on when WWE will announce Bryan vs. Wyatt for the Universal Title at Survivor Series but it’s likely to happen within the next two weeks on SmackDown.

Members For Raw Team, New Inter-Brand Match Announced For Survivor Series

This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw from Manchester, England saw WWE announcing a new Raw vs. SmackDown vs. NXT match for Survivor Series and also revealing the members of the Raw Survivor Series team.

After the Undisputed Era attacked Seth Rollins during the main event of last week’s episode of Raw, WWE had confirmed that Rollins will be leading the Red Brand’s team for the traditional Survivor Series elimination match.

Then during this week’s episode of the show, the company announced that Randy Orton, Ricochet, Kevin Owens, and Drew McIntyre will be joining the former Universal Champion as part of the Survivor Series team.

Apart from this, WWE also confirmed that the NXT North American Champion Roderick Strong will be going up against Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura and United States Champion AJ Styles in a triple threat match at the upcoming PPV.

Andrade Mocks Sin Cara Over His Release Request, Most Memorable Survivor Series Eliminations

Sin Cara made some headlines yesterday when he took his Twitter and revealed that he has decided to ask for his release from WWE in a lengthy statement.

Andrade, who has recently been feuding with Cara took notice of this Tweet and the former NXT Champion mocked his statement with a tweet of his own which roughly translates to “I couldn’t retire Rey Mysterio but Sin Cara better run, retire or quit hahaha,”:

While Sin Cara made the decision to go public with his request, latest reports suggest that WWE officials have not accepted his release request and he is likely to stay with the company until his current contract expires.

Most Memorable Survivor Series Eliminations

WWE recently posted a new video listing some of the most memorable Survivor Series eliminations ahead of the 33rd edition of the event taking place later this month.

Two Possible Matches For WWE Survivor Series

The build for the Survivor Series event is on as WWE has already announced a few matches that will be part of the card.

WWE is incorporating all three brands – NXT, RAW, and SmackDown – with the idea of having members from each brand compete against each other at the show.

Dave Meltzer of F4Wonline.com reports that there are two matches being planned to be added to the show. The first match is Rusev vs. Bobby Lashley, which has been one of the big storylines on Monday Night RAW over the last several weeks.

The other match is a non-title Triple Threat match with the secondary champions. This match would see NXT North American Champion Roderick Strong vs. WWE Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura vs. WWE United States Champion AJ Styles.

WWE Survivor Series: Two More Inter-Brand Matches Set

It should be noted that plans change all the time in WWE and these matches could be nixed.

What’s interesting is that Meltzer noted Styles and Nakamura may not be the champions by the time of the show, which made fans think that a title change could happen soon. He didn’t elaborate on that comment.

Two new matches have been announced for the upcoming WWE Survivor Series PPV and will feature talent from all three brands – RAW, SmackDown, and NXT.

This comes after WWE confirmed last week that talent from NXT would be featured for the first time ever at Survivor Series.

The card will see a Triple Threat Match as RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch, NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler, and SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley will compete against each other.

WWE set up this contest on Monday’s episode of RAW in Uniondale, New York at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum when Lynch was doing a backstage promo when Bazler interrupted her and they have a tense conversation.

Due to the WWE Draft, Bayley didn’t appear on the show as members of each show are exclusive to their respective brands and can’t appear on the opposite show.

Also, SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Revival vs. NXT Tag Team Champions  Undisputed Era vs. RAW Tag Team Champions Viking Raiders will take place.

Rey Mysterio vs. Brock Lesnar Announced For WWE Survivor Series

Brock Lesnar will get what he wants which is Rey Mysterio.

WWE did an angle on Monday’s episode of RAW in Uniondale, New York where the WWE Champion hunted down Mysterio for the first hour of the show as he attacked backstage workers.

Lesnar alongside Paul Heyman made their way out to the announce team where Lesnar hit an F-5 to Dio Maddin through the announce table after Maddin confronted Lesnar.

This is when Mysterio ran out and hit Lesnar several times with a pipe and eventually connected with a shot with the WWE Championship belt to Lesnar that left him laying.

Mysterio would cut a promo about how he wants Lesnar and take what’s most important to “The Beast”. That would be the WWE Title. This is when he challenged Lesnar for the title at the upcoming Survivor Series pay-per-view event.
