WWE TLC Promo Video, Goldust Talks About His Return At Survivor Series (Video)

– Featured above is the video promo for the December WWE TLC pay-per-view, which emanates from the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts on Sunday, December 13th.

– As seen during the Survivor Series Kickoff Show, Goldust finally made his WWE return in the traditional five-on-five elimination match on the pre-show. Goldust, along with Titus O’Neil and The Dudley Boyz, were the “Sole Survivors” left on their team. Neville would be the only member of their team to be eliminated, as they took out The Miz, Bo Dallas, Stardust and The Ascension. Below is Goldust talking with WWE.com about The Undertaker, their Casket Match in the past, and his intentions on going after Stardust.

Rikishi Challenges Kim Kardashian To A Booty Contest, TLC Notes On Dean Ambrose & AJ Lee

– In this video, Rikishi challenges Kim Kardashian to a “Booty Contest.”

The former WWE Superstar was at the Miracle on 1st Street Christmas Toy Giveaway in Los Angeles, California, when he brought up his sizable posterior and challenged Kardashian to come down to his wrestling school and take part in the contest.

– As seen last night at WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs … and Stairs, Dean Ambrose lost to Bray Wyatt in a Tables, Ladders & Chairs Match. In a trivia note, this loss extended Ambrose’s winless drought on pay-per-view since The Shield disbanded in June. In addition to WWE TLC, “The Lunatic Fringe” has lost matches at Money in the Bank (to Seth Rollins in a Money in the Bank Ladder Match), WWE Battleground (to Seth Rollins in a singles match via forfeit), SummerSlam (to Seth Rollins in a Lumberjack Match), Hell in a Cell (to Seth Rollins in a Hell in a Cell Match) and Survivor Series (to Bray Wyatt via disqualification).

– Sunday at WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs … and Stairs, WWE.com reported that AJ Lee was tended to by physicians after a scary incident in which Divas Champion Nikki Bella blinded her with hairspray. The report has since been slightly changed, as it is now noted that she was blinded with “unidentified spray.”

The physicians’ quick treatment of Lee helped prevent any long-term damage to her vision.

Backstage Fallout From WWE TLC – Unhappiness With The Show, Talent Meeting Held Today At Raw

Reddit.com user MetsFan4Ever, a former WWE backstage worker who still has ties to people in the organization, provided insight into the atmosphere backstage at Raw today at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Michigan, following last night’s WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs … and Stairs.

According to him, many people in the company are dissatisfied with how the show came off following the successful TakeOver: R Evolution and are hopeful this will lead to creative changes with WWE’s mainline product.

“While many knew it would be tough to top the NXT show, there were people who thought it could be pulled off,” he wrote. “There have been rumblings that some talent knew they couldn’t top NXT so in a silent protest in favor of Triple H, some superstars were described “mailing in” their matches last night. Many are in favor of Triple H and what he has done with the NXT product and feel it is time for Triple H to take the lead on the main roster.”

MetsFan4Ever added that locker room leader John Cena hosted a talent meeting this afternoon that was described as “forceful yet calm.” Cena stressed that a silent protest will not help matters. Instead, Cena feels they should step up their performance in order for their point to be proven.

  • Backstage Report From WWE TLC, Emma Makes Pancakes (Video), Dean Ambrose-Bray Wyatt Poll

    – Reddit.com user MetsFan4Ever, a former WWE backstage worker, offered insight into the atmosphere backstage at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio for tonight’s WWE Tables, Ladders and Chairs … and Stairs event following NXT: R Evolution.

He wrote, “I’m told tensions are at a fever pitch and have been all day. Many guys on the card tonight want to go out of their way to be the match of the night. The feeling is that a small company rivalry has started between the main roster and the NXT roster. Many agree that is good for all sides involved.

“What is usually a lighter atmosphere many hours before doors open is not the case today. I’m told that it is very quiet backstage and that talent is very focused on the show tonight. They know the NXT show is going to be considered “show of the year” among many and they want this TLC show to rival or top it.

“Many of the main matches have already been rehearsed. There was a giant black curtain covering the ringside area so nobody outside of the main players know what is going to happen tonight.”

    – WWE.com issued this poll asking fans who will inflict the most damage in tonight’s TLC Match at WWE Tables, Ladders and Chairs … and Stairs.

  • Backstage Update On CM Punk’s TLC Match, Roman Reigns’ Future & More

The reason CM Punk was booked to win against The Shield at the recent WWE TLC pay-per-view was for a couple of different reasons. First and foremost, WWE had already booked John Cena and Daniel Bryan to lose their matches at the TLC show, and the feeling was all three couldn’t lose on the same pay-per-view.

Another reason WWE gave Punk the win was because it added to the drama surrounding The Shield currently, since they decided to have Roman Reigns spear Dean Ambrose, setting up the eventual pin for Punk.

This past Monday night on RAW, WWE had Roman Reigns get the win on Punk with the idea that Reigns is eventually going to be the real “golden boy” of the company, since he has the look and the sports background that WWE officials prefer, as opposed to Punk and Bryan, both of which will never fully get past the size and look issues that WWE has.

Additionally, Punk was considered to be “protected” from the loss with the feeling that having him do a promo segment with Shawn Michaels before the match would leave a larger impression on fans than Punk actually getting pinned.

WWE TLC Attendance Notes, Details On Big Vito’s Wrestling Academy, More

  • More Backstage News On WWE’s Reaction To RAW Ending In Seattle

While the final segment of the Seattle-based RAW “go-home” show for the TLC pay-per-view received rave reviews online, apparently it ended up being nowhere near the way it was scripted to go. While WWE officials expected Daniel Bryan to receive a big pop in Seattle, given his Washington-based roots, they did not expect it to be as big as it ended up being.

Following the segment, WWE officials apparently praised John Cena for his ability to pick up on the crowd reactions and adapt. They enjoyed Cena’s decision to incorporate the reaction, and Daniel Bryan himself, into his promo, but then ultimately bring the focus back to his TLC match against Randy Orton.

As covered in-depth the past week, there was an incident during the WWE’s “Tribute To The Troops” television taping in Washington involving AJ Lee and Access Hollywood co-host Michelle Beadle regarding Beadle’s comments to CM Punk.

In addition to all of the heat on AJ for her role in the ordeal, apparently CM Punk garnered some heat on himself by his way of handling the issue.

Punk decided to tweet about hockey on his official Twitter account, and WWE officials were apparently unhappy with that decision, as they felt he should be tweeting about something TLC-related instead of hockey.

  • Details On AJ Lee vs Natalya TLC Match Result, NFL Player Pays Tribute To “Ravishing” Rick Rude

    – As seen last night at WWE TLC, AJ Lee successfully defended the Divas Championship against Natalya after it was heavily speculated online that she would lose the title as punishment for a reported backstage incident with NBC personality Michelle Beadle at Wednesday’s Tribute to the Troops event—gamblers briefly predicted Natalya would win amidst reports of the ordeal (betting for the match was ultimately nixed from most sportsbooks), after Lee was considered a heavy favorite. Dave Meltzer stated this morning in a podcast on F4WOnline.com that Lee was always scripted to win the bout, as the match result was finalized before the story surfaced.

As reported earlier, WWE executives don’t want to draw any more attention to the Lee-Beadle story than necessary.

Jim Ross Blog: In-Depth Thoughts On WWE TLC PPV, Title Unification & More

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has updated his blog at JRsBarBQ.com with his thoughts on last night’s Tables, Ladders and Chairs pay-per-view.

Regarding the TLC main event unification match, JR said he “sincerely appreciated” the hard work from John Cena and Randy Orton.

“TLC sounds great on paper and makes for a sensational video promo but the match stips can be very limiting. Based on today’s boundaries, I thought that the two men did all that they could do to utilize the ‘toys’ that they had to play with but at the end of the day I’d have been just as happy to have seen a straight wrestling match considering what was at stake.”

Ross also spoke about the importance of protecting the importance of WWE’s championship titles.

“Building enhanced credibility for the new, WWE World Title is going to be an ongoing matter that will never find its work finished. Nothing should be more important to any WWE talent, friend or foe, than being WWE World Champion. Being the Champion becomes a great story if the title is positioned properly and on a lofty pedestal.”

Ross noted that one thing UFC does better than WWE is making all of their belts prestigious.

“The door is now open for that to change within WWE including repositioning the IC Title and the US Title. Why have titles if they are not coveted by all who are eligible to compete for them? Plus, they are not ‘hot potatoes.’ The bottom line is that building equity in any title sells tickets and PPV’s.”

Big Change In Betting For Tonight’s AJ Lee vs. Natalya Match At TLC, Latest Classics On Demand Updates

    – Amidst reports that Divas Champion AJ Lee is in hot water with WWE brass for appearing unruly towards NBC sports and entertainment personality Michelle Beadle at last Wednesday’s Tribute to the Troops event at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Pierce County, Washington, betting for her scheduled title defense against Natalya tonight at WWE TLC is now off in most outlets.

The New Jersey-native was a heavy favorite to win her match against the accomplished third-generation wrestler after “insider betting” was placed on Thursday. At the start of Sunday, Lee was a 4,500-point favorite, then downgraded to a 2,750-point favorite after reports of the incident surfaced. Natalya moved to a 1,250-point underdog with late money landing on a win before the match was removed from most sportsbooks entirely.

Lee has the third-longest Divas Championship reign in history, having held the title for 182 days as of Sunday. She trails Beth Phoenix (204) and Maryse (216).

Backstage News On Creative Plans For John Cena vs. Randy Orton

Apparently WWE came up with the plans for the John Cena vs. Randy Orton title unification match for Sunday’s TLC pay-per-view a few weeks ago. Whatever those plans are, unlike many times in the past where WWE will constantly alter their plans, they are reportedly sticking to them for Cena vs. Orton.

Basically, WWE has a clear-cut direction they want to take this angle and they appear to be going with it no matter what.

  • Bret Hart’s Brother Talks About WWE Unifying Their World Titles & More

The first son of Stu Hart and the oldest brother of Bret and Owen Hart, Smith Hart, recently commented on WWE’ Unifying the WWE Championship & the World Heavyweight championship:

“The problem is not with the unification itself, but rather the circumstances which surround it. First and foremost, a match of this calibre is something that should be built to over a period of time. “Hot-shotting” it to the next PPV with less than 3 weeks notice is such a waste of a golden opportunity. Second, the wrong talent are fighting for the opportunity.

Both Cena and Orton are fabulous superstars but both have reached their respective pinnacles. Part of the success of Jericho’s unification was the creation of a new top star, whom to this day lays claim to having beat both Steve Austin and The Rock in the same night to win the undisputed championship.”
