Twitch Leak Includes Payouts For Adam Cole, Paige & Zelina Vega

A massive Twitch leak has allegedly unveiled the payouts of streamers, including WWE and AEW stars.

4Chan (via VICE) has been the home of many leaks over the years and this time, an anonymous poster shared 135GB of data revealing the payouts of popular Twitch streamers. Someone uploaded the pay wrestling streamers received on the platform, which has since been deleted on Pastebin. Fear not, we’ve got the totals here.

Several streamers confirmed on Twitter that their data inside the leak is accurate. Jason Koebler of VICE also says the figures appear legitimate, based on internal knowledge of what their own channel earns.

How Much Do Wrestlers Make From Twitch?

The following is the Twitch revenue data for the largest wrestling-related accounts for September 2019 through September 2021.

Keep in mind, these payouts are from subscriptions and bits. They do not include donations, which is a huge chunk of pay for streamers on Twitch typically.

  • Paige (@SarayaOfficial) – $478,224
  • Zelina Vega (@theatrinidad) – $341,748
  • Adam Cole (@TheCHUGS) – $318,080
  • Impact Wrestling (@impactwrestling) – $69,140
  • Tyler Breeze (@thesweetzlive) – $43,755
  • Evil Uno (@eviluno) – $35,742
  • Colt Cabana (@coltcabana) – $32,479
  • Xavier Woods (@AustinCreed) – $25,431

As you can tell, there’s a substantial amount of money to be made on Twitch for these wrestlers. WWE has a policy in place that prevents its talent from streaming on Twitch. Paige is an exception as the rule isn’t a part of her deal and she isn’t an active wrestler.

Zelina Vega had been released by WWE over the issue of not being able to stream. She eventually ended up signing with the company again. Vega’s husband, Malakai Black, had been taking over the channel but there hasn’t been a new stream for the past month.

WWE made a strong push to re-sign Adam Cole before he decided to jump ship to AEW. Adam Cole’s wish to keep his independent Twitch channel was said to be a non-negotiable stipulation during those negotiations.

The New Day vs. The Bloodline Announced For Monday Night Raw

A massive six-man tag team match has been announced for the Sept. 20 edition of WWE Monday Night Raw.

On the Sept. 17 episode of SmackDown, newly-minted WWE Champion Big E made a surprise appearance. He and Finn Balor defeated WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos. Backstage after the match, The Usos attacked Big E.

As a result of what transpired on SmackDown, Big E will team with his New Day brethren Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods to take on WWE Universal Champion Reigns and The Usos. The official Twitter account of WWE made the announcement.

Xavier Woods Wants WWE Game In Telltale Style

Xavier Woods says he would like to see a video game in Telltale Games style — where wrestling characters would be put into different scenarios which doesn’t necessarily have to do much with wrestling. WWE’s games have mostly been limited to either arcade style wrestling or wrestling simulation games, with the exception of mobile games like WWE Immortals and WWE Racing Showdown and in the past with 2002’s WWE Crush Hour. Xavier Woods says he would like for things to go even crazier, with wrestlers put into a fantasy setting, for example.

“I love when they take wrestling characters and put them in different scenarios. I don’t understand why we don’t have a Final Fantasy-esque video game that has nothing to do with wrestling, but Samoa Joe is in it as one of the big bads and he’s just being Samoa Joe, but he’s in a fantasy and medieval world,” Woods told the Ringer Wrestling Show. “I want to be able to use those ideas, thoughts, and personalities in different worlds. How do we not have our version of The Notebook? Let people branch out and create. Rising tides raise all ships.”

He further continued that his dream WWE wrestling game would be a WWE Telltale game. “My dream for a WWE wrestling game is WWE Telltale games. You play out someone’s story, just like you would in the 2K games; let’s say it’s Shelton Benjamin’s story and you get to the match with Shawn Michaels and the superkick. You can either input the button combination correctly, he eats the superkick, gets knocked out, and life happens as it did.

Or, we get the story from like, ‘What would have happened had Shelton won that match?’ So you put the (input) in wrong and now you have a fully, brand new, fresh ‘What would have happened to Shelton Benjamin in that time?'”

Telltale Games were known for giving the players the ability to make choices that affects how future events in their games play out. They have worked on properties such as The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Minecraft, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Batman. Such a game would certainly be a really interesting addition to the large list of WWE games. Do you think WWE would ever make a game which focuses more on the narrative than wrestling?

Xavier Woods Wants To ‘Trade In’ Championship Match for King of The Ring

WWE RAW Superstar Xavier Woods has taken to social media to say that he wants to ‘trade in’ his WWE Championship match for a chance to enter the King of The Ring tournament.

Xavier Woods defeated WWE Champion Bobby Lashley on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW, ahead of his New Day tag team partner Kofi Kingston getting a shot at the ‘All-Mighty’ this Sunday at the WWE Money In The Bank PPV event.

“Last night I beat the WWE champion” Woods tweeted today. “Normally that means I’m owed a championship match. I’d like to exchange that for a one night King of The Ring tournament at the company’s earliest convenience” the 11 time WWE Tag Team Champion added.

Xavier Woods Wants Tournament

“And I’d like Riddle on the opposite end of the bracket. I owe him one…” Woods concluded, hinting at a showdown with the Original Bro at some point in the near future.

It was recently rumored that WWE were looking at bringing back the King of The Ring tournament as a gimmick for upcoming shows of RAW and SmackDown. AEW have had a lot of success with their special themed episodes of Dynamite, so WWE could also capitalize on the rich history of concepts/ideas that they have at their disposal.

News On Why Xavier Woods Was Absent From Raw

Xavier Woods did not appear on last week’s episode of Raw after the beatdown angle on June 21 episode of the show. Latest reports suggest that the angle was done based off a request from Woods.

Dave Meltzer talked about the New Day member in the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Newsletter. He noted that the WWE star had asked for a week off. The injury angle was written to explain his absence from the show.

Last week’s episode of Raw featured a Hell In A Cell main event where the WWE champion Bobby Lashley defended his title against Xavier Woods inside the cage.

The match saw Lashley picking up a clean victory when he made his opponent tap out with the Hurt Lock. However, he didn’t let the UpUpDownDown star go even after the match.

The WWE champion locked himself in the cage with Woods even after the match was over. He hurt Xavier some more before finally letting him go to end the show.

There is no word on why the former tag champion asked for the time off. No word on the reason for Lashley’s absence from the show either.

Though both these stars are not expected to stay away for long. Both Xavier Woods and Bobby Lashley will be returning to Raw this Monday. The New Day will face Lashley and MVP in a tag match on the show.

Xavier Woods Reacts To WWE Releasing Tyler Breeze

WWE Superstar Xavier Woods took to Instagram to react to the release of his friend and UpUpDownDown co-host, Tyler Breeze. It was confirmed yesterday that Breeze would no longer be working for the company, and his tag team partner Fandango was also one of the names let go in yet another round of WWE releases.

Here’s the full comments from Woods regarding his friend being released from the company:

“When I met @mmmgorgeous we were in FCW. We were cool but ended up both being injured once and we would keep each other from going insane by waking up and playing borderlands 2 online together. Through this video game we realized that we were the ying to the others yang. Started talking and hanging out more and realized I was really charismatic but not the best wrestler and he was an amazing wrestler but not the most charismatic. We fit together like puzzle pieces and began learning from each other. Some coaches told me quite a few times to “watch who I hang out with”, “distance yourself from that guy”, “why would you wanna tag with him? He’s not going to help your career”.

Xavier Woods on Tyler Breeze

Some even tried lying in an attempt to put us against each other. We never understood it but by never letting anyone ever get to us he taught me how to be better in the ring and I helped him bring out his natural charisma. Since then every step my @wwe career Matt has literally always been there right with me no matter what. He pushes me to get better and to believe in myself when I don’t. I’m not sure where I’d be in life if he wasn’t in mine. Today sucks. It really sucks. But I’m happy because now my incredibly talented friend gets to whatever he wants to do and I’m so happy that he has that freedom. Love you man!”

It is not currently known if Tyler Breeze will remain with UpUpDownDown or if Woods is alluding to a new video game venture in his statement. Jessamyn Duke was released from WWE as a contracted Superstar but remained with the YouTube channel.

WWE Superstars Pushing For Another King Of The Ring Tournament

WWE brought back the King Of Ring tournament in 2019, which was won by Baron Corbin. Now a recent exchange between King Corbin, Xavier Woods, and Adam Pearce has fans wondering if the royal competition will be revived again in the near future.

The Lone Wolf is set to defend his crown against Shinsuke Nakamura on this week’s SmackDown. Corbin appeared on the latest episode of The Bump to discuss the challenge. Host Kayla Braxton mentioned the fact that Xavier Woods has repeatedly expressed his desire to become King of the Ring. Corbin was asked if he’s feeling the ‘heat’ as WWE’s reigning king.

Corbin says everybody has their eye on his crown, which he believes is on par with WWE’s championship titles. He appreciates Xavier Woods’ interest and would love the chance to for wanting to earn an opportunity at the crown. He welcomes the opportunity to defeat Woods in hypothetical KOTR tournament.

With live events returning in just a matter of weeks, WrestleVotes says there has been talk of WWE holding ‘theme events’ such as King of the Ring, Old School nights, etc. on these non-televised shows to encourage fan interest.

King of the Ring Returning?

Corbin’s comments on The Bump elicited responses from Woods and WWE official Adam Pearce. The former NWA Champion says he’s had many conversations with Corbin about the possibility of holding another tournament.

Xavier Woods On His Favorite Tag Team Of All Time

With 11 different reigns with the tag team championship in WWE with his partners at New Day, Xavier Woods has created a legacy for himself as one of the greatest tag team wrestlers of all time.

The UpUpDownDown host recently had an interview with Chris Van Vliet where he talked about a number of things including his gig with G4TV and more.

When asked which his own favorite tag team is, Xavier took an interesting name and he picked a forgotten tag team from the ending days of the Attitude Era:

“I’m bad at picking the greatest, my favorite is Billy and Chuck, mainly because of their matches with the Hardys. It was the first time I noticed that The Hardys are not huge but they could still knock the huge guys down. In my teen head I was like this is how wrestling should be.

This is where you put your ego aside and have this good match.” said Xavier Woods, “I’ve always been a fan of tag team wrestling. But I like groups too. I was into 3 Count in WCW too. I love so many teams for so many reasons.”

The New Day member also told the story of how and why he started playing the trombone on WWE TV, which has since become an iconic trope of his character.

Xavier Woods revealed that WWE actually wanted the trio to sing on TV after a big win. However, Woods asked if he could play the song on trombone instead and the rest is history.

Xavier Woods Clarifies UpUpDownDown Ownership

Xavier Woods recently took to Twitter to clarify some things regarding the popular YouTube video game channel, UpUpDownDown. Woods noted that the channel is not owned by him but rather WWE. He also noted that they are not currently permitted to stream on Twitch but that could change somewhere down the line.

Jessamyn Duke on UPUpDownDown

Jessamyn Duke was amongst the names released from NXT yesterday. On her video game stream yesterday she spoke on how she will not be leaving UpUPDownDown despite her release. She will also continue her OkayGamer live streams as well as BRE Start with Shayna Baszler, Mia Yim, and others.

“As far as this stuff goes, nothing is changing. My stream, my channel, all of that is the same,” Duke said (transcriptions via Fightful) ‘More importantly than that, I want all of you to know; UpUpDownDown is still my home. BRE Start is not going anywhere. Everyone can relax, sit back, and enjoy knowing that tomorrow [Friday] a brand new episode of BRE Start will be premiering. We still have BRE Fridays and have BRE content coming out of our ears. That’s not going anywhere. Basically, what I’ve been doing the last six months or so is exactly what I’m going to keep doing. I know I have an immense amount of support and it is overwhelming. I appreciate you guys. UpUpDownDown is my home, they have my back, we are in this together, and we are family.“

The New Day On Title Win: “Don’t Be Mad At Us For Doing Our Job”

The New Day were able to win tag team gold again on this week’s Monday Night Raw as they became 11-time tag team champions. They defeated the top tag team on the Raw brand — The Hurt Business’ Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin to become the new Raw Tag Team Champions. Fans weren’t too happy with this decision however, as the win was met with reactions like “Again?”, “Tired of seeing them as champs,” etc.

Another reason why New Day’s new title reign was met with bit of a negative reaction was because it put a halt to the momentum that The Hurt Business was enjoying going into WrestleMania 37 with Bobby Lashley as the WWE Champion. After their Raw match, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods were interviewed backstage where they noted fans’ censure against their title win.

“We told a lot of people what was going to happen. A lot of people are upset — ‘Oh, we’re tired of seeing New Day as the champions!’ Don’t be mad at us, be mad at Cedric, be mad at Shelton for not being to keep the tag team championships,” Kofi Kingston hit back at the criticism. “Be mad at all your favorite tag teams for not being able to step up against your boys. Be mad at them, don’t be mad at us for doing our jobs. All we do is we go out there, we entertain, and we win championships. That’s it. Don’t be mad at us, be mad at your favorites.”

“This is our 11th time. When you’re a child you think, ‘I wanna be a WWE Superstar.’ You don’t even fathom the fact that you can possibly become 11-time WWE World Tag Team Champions and then it becomes your reality,” Xavier Woods said regarding his run as part of The New Day. “You feel that? Our dreams are sueños, have become our realidad. Don’t be mad at us. We are frothing at the mouth for more teams. Please believe it. We want to beat up new teams, we want to pin new teams, we want to make new teams tap out. So come to us, wherever you are.”

The New Day were also challenged to a match at WrestleMania 37 by AJ Styles and Omos who came out to the ring after New Day’s match. Styles said he has held all title in WWE except the tag team straps, and now he’s eyeing them. A match for the titles was later confirmed by WWE for WrestleMania.

Xavier Woods On His Reaction To Learning About His G4 Gig

WWE star Xavier Woods was recently named the host for the revived G4 video game brand which will be relaunching sometime in the next year.

The New Day member had an interview with IGN after the announcement where he discussed things like what it means for him to be part of the G4 family and more.

During the interview, Woods also revealed his reaction to the big announcement and he claimed that his reaction was similar to the time he got a WWE contract:

“I was losing my mind… It was incredible, I’m just a random dude from Georgia who loves video games and loves wrestling.

So getting my WWE contract while sitting in the middle of a Walgreens in Orlando, Florida at the time doing like backflips, calling my parents… I had the exact same reaction when I found out I was going to be a host on G4.”

Apart from this, Xavier Woods talked about how the world of gaming has changed and he mentioned how back in the day there was a time when you got made fun of for liking wrestling.

He then explained that the same thing happened with video games in the past and he has been trying to show people that we are all the same kind of nerds.

Booker T Explains Why He’s ‘Glad’ WWE Separated The New Day

WWE Hall of Famer Booker T has shared his thoughts on the WWE Draft during a recent episode of his Hall of Fame podcast. He also explained why he’s “glad” Big E has been separated from his New Day stablemates.

Booker T noted how the recent WWE Draft was different from the drafts that took place when he was an active in-ring competitor. He stressed how the hype WWE attempted to create for the Draft was only “for the fans.’

“The draft to me, it’s just working for another show. It wasn’t about the hype. The hype was for the fans. […] I’m not trying to rag on these guys or anything these days, but the draft back in the day, there was a reason why we had to have a draft, and a SmackDown and a RAW. We had so much talent on the roster.”

Booker T was quick to add that today’s current roster is also filled with talented Superstars. However, according to him, there was a notable “abundance of talent” flooding WWE after WCW was purchased.

“[…] we literally had the best talent roster in the world at that time. We had an abundance of talent that could fuel two shows. It was totally different as far as how I looked at the draft back then compared to how I look at it now.”

Booker T On Big E Going Solo On SmackDown

Regarding the New Day, Booker T shared how separating the stable is in the best interest of Big E:

“This is the only way Big E can really run on his own. He could really put himself out there without having that umbrella of the New Day. You have to let it go and go out there and be Big E and create his own brand in order to fuel what he’s trying to do right now and that’s take it to the next level.”

He noted how Big E doesn’t have to “change anything” and uses this opportunity to “step up.”

Booker T then shared how he wished he could have the opportunity to coach Big E, sharing how:

“If I was to manage someone, it would be a guy like Big E because I really feel Big E could run through the whole territory if the stars were aligned right for him. I’m not saying I want to be a manager, but I feel if there is anyone I could manage and get some feelings out of the fans watching this would be a guy like Big E. Big E could really be the guy if he had the right expert tutelage.”

Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston were drafted to Raw following the WWE Draft. Big E, however, remained a SmackDown Superstar.

Xavier Woods Responds To CM Punk Suggesting That Big E Should ‘Dump’ The New Day

Big E is getting a shot at a singles run due to the injuries of Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston but E has made it clear that he is still a representative of the New Day even when he is competing on his own. However, several stars have spoken up against this mentality and people like CM Punk have said that the former NXT Champion should ‘dump’ his teammates to advance further in his career.

During his recent appearance on the Battleground podcast, Xavier Woods responded to these comments and he said that he loves the fact that people have enough passion about what’s going on to talk about it. He mentioned how it keeps people’s names in the zeitgeist but Woods went on to explain that their friendship is more important to the three than anything else:

“We’ve explained many times that, again, our friendship and bond is more important than anything else, Thee interesting thing about people saying things like this about E is, ‘oh, well you said the same things about Kofi.’ That worked out okay, I think. I think this is the vocal minority again, which is fine, everyone have your voice and use it the way you want, just don’t be disrespectful to people.”

Xavier Woods continued to explain that fans demand things that are different than the usual and we have seen people make it to the top using one specific toolbox. However, now that they are attempting something different they want the trio to go back to the old tools and according to Woods no one is right or wrong for having an opinion:

“Everyone has their opinion and everyone is entitled to it, and no one’s is right, no one’s is wrong because we can’t tell the future, we don’t know.” said Xavier Woods, “It’s great that people talk about it and want something to happen because I want something to happen too. I want E to hold all the titles, I want Kofi to hold all the titles; I want to hold all the titles. And so the way that we get there, we’re going to do it our own way.”

This is not the first time a New Day member has spoken up against the idea of the group being dismantled. During a recent interview, Big E had explained the importance of Xavier Woods for their group, saying that there would be no New Day without the former NXT star.

Xavier Woods Talks “Greatest Moment In Wrestling” With Kofi Kingston

WWE Superstar and host of UpUpDownDown Xavier Woods recently appeared on the Gorilla Position podcast.

During the interview with James Delow, Xavier Woods would discuss a number of topics during his time with WWE. These included his New Day run, the creation of UpUpDownDown and his eventual return from injury.

One of the points raised during the interview was Kofi Kingston’s WWE Championship win at WrestleMania 35. Woods would discuss how emotional the moment was for him, Big E and Kingston when Kofi beat Daniel Bryan to win the Championship.

A Lot of Emotions

“It’s a lot of emotions and I…it always comes up when we’re talking about this, that picture of Big E and me holding Kofi and I’m bawling uncontrollably” Woods would begin. “Because it’s super meaningful for a lot of reasons.”

Xavier Woods would then talk about the importance of Kofi becoming the first ever African-born WWE Champion. Woods would also discuss representation in pro wrestling, saying how previously he felt there wasn’t someone who represented him as a young black man watching the product. “As a kid growing up? There wasn’t always someone in the limelight that represented me and the way that I look.”

Xavier Woods on the Angle

Woods elaborated further, saying “to be able to be a part of this angle? Of the story? Where I am able to help prop up the person who is able to be that for this next generation of kids? I have not done anything in my career that has meant more than that. And I will most likely not do anything in my career that will mean more than that moment.”

The creator of UpUpDownDown would then describe the moment with Kofi as “perfect.” Using the analogy of blackjack and saying that they hit 21 with the angle. “There’s not many moments in wrestling that I would say are perfect. That was perfect. When I tell people that wrestling is incredible? Like, that’s what I’m trying to say like, no, you’re not always gonna land on 21 when you’re playing blackjack. But, you know, as long as you can stay around like 17/19? You’re okay. But that was 21, that was the best that could possibly have been done.”

Woods would finish by saying how to him it’s the greatest moment in pro wrestling. “And so that’s the greatest moment in wrestling, to me, just for the personal reasons. But then, also being able to be in in wrestling in that time where so many things had to come together for that most perfect moment.”

It’s importance of Kofi’s win at WrestleMania 35 is undeniable. Even with the way in which Brock Lesnar would defeat Kingston to take the title? There’s no doubt that the moment will live on in history and the match itself between Bryan and Kofi was fantastic to boot.

Xavier Woods Suggests Unlikely Final Opponent for The Undertaker

WWE Superstar and host of UpUpDownDown Xavier Woods recently appeared on the Gorilla Position podcast.

During the interview with James Delow, Xavier Woods would discuss a number of topics during his time with WWE. These included his New Day run, the creation of UpUpDownDown and his eventual return from injury.

At the end of the interview Woods was thrown a curve ball, he was asked by Delow to submit his suggestion for The Undertaker’s final match. The new ‘Last Ride’ documentary series by WWE began last week and it detailed how ‘Taker is looking to have one final ‘great match’ before he rides off into the sunset. Woods’ suggestion for the Deadman was…interesting.

Xavier Woods on ‘Taker’s Final Match

“This is for me specifically right?” Xavier Woods began, almost apologising before he gave his answer. “Perfect opponent for The Undertaker? Papa Shango.”

Woods would then explain his scenario where he believes that a cinematic style match with Papa Shango and The Undertaker would work. “Think about this, in that WrestleMania match, that Boneyard Match? We saw greatness. We saw powers being used. Magic was being used, that house blew up!”

Papa….Shango?

Xavier elaborated further, saying “it [Boneyard match] was incredible. The only thing about it? Only ONE person had ‘powers’ and we got such an incredible match! Imagine if there were TWO people with powers!? Shango making him [Undertaker] BLEED the BLOOD.”

After much laughter (although Woods did seem pretty serious about this), Xavier Woods would then reference the feud between Papa Shango and The Ultimate Warrior. Shango would ‘curse’ Warrior during their feud, leaving him the writhe in pain and unable to properly compete. “What did he [Shango] burst? Was it Warrior’s appendix? Something was messed up in his guts? Yeah he did something. Like think about that, this [Shango vs Taker] would be so good, so give that to me!”

If you could pick a final opponent for The Undertaker who would it be? Please also feel free to give reasons as to why it wouldn’t be Papa Shango.

Xavier Woods On What A New Day Cinematic Match Would Look Like, WWE’s Coronavirus Challenges

WWE Superstar Xavier Woods has detailed what a cinematic matchup featuring the New Day might look like. Speaking with The No-Sports Report podcast, Woods shared his excitement over the idea. He confessed that WrestleMania 36’s Boneyard match “really touched my soul.”

According to Woods, a cinematic match with the New Day would be set in a “weird, magical, like a rainbow world.”

Within this world, there would be an ominous shadowland where they don’t go. But, when they do, it would be “game time.”

“So, uh, lots of sunshine, lots of rainbows, lots of inanimate objects talking to you… It’d be super weird,” Woods stated. “I like the dissonance between something horrible happening like us just being someone to a pulp with like a nice, children’s music like “Baby Shark” playing in the background.”

Xavier Woods On WWE’s Coronavirus Challenges

Xavier Woods then addressed the challenges WWE has been facing during the coronavirus pandemic. He spoke about Superstars having to wrestle in front of zero fans and the difficulties of attracting new fans during this time.

He admitted he could imagine wrestling in front of an empty arena. Woods compared it to his experiences on the independent circuit. According to him, he had plenty of experience wrestling in near-empty locations to either “no people or like three people.”

He added how wrestling for three people was, in some ways, “more daunting than no people.”

He explained it’s because “[…] now you’ve got these, these six eyes on you and it freaks you out. But luckily the guys and girls that we work with are skilled enough to understand what factors of wrestling – whether it’s promos or matches – need to be altered and changed to go along with what the current situation is.”

Xavier Woods shared how this element is what he really likes about pro wrestling. To him, wrestling is akin to “live performance art.”

He explained how it’s not about having the perfect match or promo. Instead, it’s about how you adapt and improvise if that match or promo derails:

“[…] this is one of those things where everything got derailed essentially and now everybody’s figuring out how they can look into their old school playbook like, ‘Okay, how do we do this?’ And they’re in there doing it.”

Wrestling Attracting New Fans During COVID-19

With few opportunities for live sports or entertainment currently available, Xavier Woods speculated how those curious about wrestling may be tuning in for the first time:

“I feel like a lot of people who didn’t enjoy it or may not have talked about it at all beforehand, might be watching it now.”

Woods added that people could potentially be seeing things on Twitter and feel compelled to give WWE a chance. He argued how, after a few more clicks, these people could be watching RAW or SmackDown. He acknowledged how there has been a “heightened level of conversation about WWE during all of this.”

Woods’ Achilles Recovery During Quarantine

Having been sidelined due to an unfortunate Achilles injury, Xavier Woods shared how he has been recovering at home during the pandemic.

He shared how he has been recouping whilst ensuring he is “being functional.”

He stressed how “being able to hang out with my kid” has been the best thing for him during this tough time.

Xavier Woods acknowledged that it’s a difficult time for so many worldwide. He added that he would be lying if he said he wasn’t enjoying the quality time at home with his family.

Xavier Woods Recounts The Origins Of Francesca

During the most recent episode of The New Day’s podcast, Feel The Power, the three WWE Superstars reminisced on the creation of Xavier Woods’ beloved trombone, Francesca.

Francesca made her debut on the Monday Night RAW following SummerSlam 2015. Turns out that Woods had to learn how to play the trombone “by ear” on the night, having had no previous experience.

“So the next night, we were in Brooklyn is when we introduced “Francesca” because I remember we had the match, we were feeling good and so ‘Oh, maybe tomorrow night on RAW you guys do something with the song ‘New York, New York” and this is when we were starting to get like, ‘Okay, they’re kind of trusting us to do whatever, we’re asking for stuff and they’re kind just like letting it slide, but let’s see how far we can go.’”

He continued, “At this point in our career we were trying to see if we can get into trouble. And so I remember texting back, I was like, ‘Oh, instead of like singing it, can you get me trombone because I could like play it, just by ear?’ He’s like, ‘Yeah, sure well I’ll ask.’ And we were kind of joking about it like in the hotel or like wherever we were and then a few minutes later gets a text back., ‘Yeah, yeah. We can get a trombone.’ And all three of us were (gasp) ‘What?’ So we were like, ‘How do we use this trombone?’ And so I learned how to play ‘Da da da dada duh.’”

Xavier Woods Remembers Vince McMahon’s Reaction

Woods then recalled how he was meant to return the trombone to a WWE props worker. At the moment, however, he decided to keep it and play it through the match. During a commercial break, one of the cameramen told him how Vince McMahon was “laughing his ass off” backstage and instructed him to keep playing. Upon getting to the back after the match, he remembered Vince laughing, telling them how they will “always have this trombone now. She’s part of the group!’”

Woods is currently recovering from an unfortunate injury suffered during a WWE Live Event—an injury that shook him to his core.

The New Day Talk ‘Trash’ Promos That WWE Creative Have Given Them

The New Day made some interesting comments regarding their original heel turn back in 2015 on the latest episode of The New Day: Feel The Power. The trio discussed their first turn back in 2015 on the show and also discussed some members of the WWE creative team and how they would present “trash” to the group to say on air in promos.

“I don’t like when there’s the three of us and a writer is just kind of in the room just lingering.”

“We don’t write our own promos, I don’t want to say that” Big E began. “We are given promos and often times, Mike, who we always consider the fourth member of The New Day, when he left…actually he left right after we won the [tag team] titles for the first time. He was gone and moved on to new things in Hollywood, we [then] had some other writers that didn’t gel as well with us, and we were able to thankfully, with Vince, we were able to get a promo and say ‘we don’t really care for this. So we aren’t going to say that, that AANNND that.'”

Big E elaborated further, saying “let’s go huddle in a room for an hour and we’ll come up with what we wanna say. We’ve said this many times, our creative process together…is so fun, and easy and organic. I don’t like when there’s the three of us and a writer is just kind of in the room just lingering. I don’t want to take shots at anyone. But if we just read what was given to us on a regular basis…basura, basura, basura…THAT MEANS TRASH. Man, we’ve had some real stinkers.”

“I feel like all those people on the internet do talk about that and make that point.”

Xavier Woods also interjected with some interesting insights into WWE’s creative process and how The New Day managed to start apart. “To that point, which I didn’t think we were jumping into. I feel like all those people on the internet do talk about that and make that point. ‘Oh this was bad, this was bad.’ But I feel like there are certain situations…wrestling definitely being the top one. Where if you have someone writing something for you that doesn’t have similar life experiences, or the same sense of humor. Or has nothing really in common with you, it’s a lot harder for them to write in your voice. I feel like that’s something that we definitely ran into.”

“You can’t tell me what New Day is, I invented this”

Kofi Kingston is the longest tenured member of the group, having joined WWE over a decade ago. The former WWE Champion discussed how Vince McMahon would let the New Day find their own promo groove; “I feel like I’ve heard so many writers try to ‘sell’ me a promo. ‘You would say this, New Day would say and feel this..’ It’s like hold on a second, you can’t tell me what New Day is. I invented this, you know. You can’t tell us how to be us. Just let us have our process. He who shall not be named (Vince McMahon) would often get the promo we sent back. He’d read it and then just be like ‘I don’t get it. But if wanna do it just let them do it.’ Because he got it. The fact that we know our characters well enough and we connect with the people. That’s all that he [Vince] wants.”

Big E did also mention that he doesn’t want to pull “all of the onus” on WWE creative for the bad promos. As he mentions that there’s certain talents who just aren’t that good at talking; including himself in the early part of his career.

The New Day Signs Matching Contract Extension With WWE

Kofi Kingston had recently confirmed on Feel The Power podcast that he signed a new contract extension with WWE and now the company has announced that all three members of the New Day have done the same.

The promotion announced on their website that the trio of Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods and Big E have all agreed to ‘matching multi-year’ contract extensions:

“Kofi Kingston, Big E & Xavier Woods solidified a pact of identical length and compensation on their contracts to maintain equal status among the team.”

While the release did not confirm the length of their new deals, Kingston had said that he has signed a new 5 years long contract with the company.

So contracts of matching length will mean that all three members of New Day will be staying with the company at least until 2024.

Out of these three, Xavier Woods is recovering from an Achilles injury. There is no solid timetable for his return but it’s said that Woods can stay out of action for 6 months to a year depending on his recovery process.

On the other hand, both Kofi Kingston and Big E are currently holding the SmackDown Tag Team Championships and they are announced for a match against Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro on this week’s episode of SmackDown Live.

Big E Calls Kevin Owens/’Big O’ Angle ‘Disrespectful’

WWE Superstar and New Day member Big E recently discussed the Kevin Owens/’Big O’ angle that took place on WWE television earlier this year. Big E’s comments were part of the latest episode of The New Day: Feel The Power podcast available via WWE and Endeavour audio.

Kevin Owens and The New Day

Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens made his return from injury back during WrestleMania season. There had been reports that Owens was due to face Daniel Bryan at ‘Mania, however the swell of support for Kofi Kingston meant that plans were changed late in the day. In April Kevin Owens ‘joined’ The New Day whilst Big E was rehabbing an injury. Kevin Owens brutally attacked Kingston and Xavier Woods, turning heel on the April 23rd episode of SmackDown Live and starting a feud with Kingston over the WWE Championship.

Big O

During the latest episode of New Day’s official WWE podcast, Big E talked about Kevin Owens joining the stable and how he felt whilst on the sidelines. “I’m in the bed just as I’ve had my surgery and I turn on the TV. And, I know you guys [Kofi and Xavier] have to do what you’ve got to do. But I see you two and there’s ‘Big O’ Kevin Owens doing MY intro that I came up with and doing my tag move with you.”

“Laugh it Off”

Big E elaborated further, saying “I get it, I just suck it up and be a man and like laugh it off but it feels like a slap in the face to see someone in your position and just doing this. I felt disrespected. I obviously know you guys [Kofi and Xavier] didn’t come up with it so there’s no issue with you. But from a larger picture just that you’re alone in a hospital room, briefly, but I was alone and I was there and just everything goes on without you and you just move on and does anyone care? Does it even matter? And you feel very alone in this situation.”

Xavier Woods Injury’s Has “Shaken” Him To His “Core”

The New Day’s official WWE podcast third episode was released today on all major Podcasting networks. New Day member Xavier Woods took the opportunity to address his Achilles tendon injury that he sustained earlier this year in Sydney, Australia. Woods revealed the physical and emotional toll that the injury has taken on his body and the length of time he is expected to be out of action.

“I am currently dealing with one that is pretty serious”

“Today we’ll talk about something a little bit more serious we’re gonna talk about injuries. We’re gonna kick it off talking about mine actually to begin with” Woods started. “I am currently dealing with one that is pretty serious. I know that we’re we’re all laughey jokey happy clap your hands stuff all the time. So you don’t really get to see a range of motion from us on television. But this is something for me that is hard to talk about.”

Xavier Woods – “It compounded a disk in my neck…”

Woods then told a story from his time in FCW, where he sustained a horrific head and neck injury. “I’ve been in wrestling professionally/training since I was seventeen, I’m thirty three now. The longest I’ve ever been out was three months and that was when I was in developmental in FCW. The whole roster would have shows all over the place. And at one point I end up getting clotheslined in the top of my head.”

“there wasn’t enough blood circulating to my brain…”

“Some crazy situation, and it compounded the disk in my neck. I slept legit in my closet all day because I couldn’t do with any sunlight. LED light, like whatever and one of those nights I ended up hurting so bad that I had to get a friend to drive me to the ER. I thought I was going to die. And what ended up happening is I got pumped full of whatever they pumped me full of. That helped release the pressure on my brain. Because apparently there wasn’t enough blood circulating to my brain and my brain was over heating. If I wouldn’t have gone to the ER immediately when I did I could have had permanent brain damage. Because my brain was just three million degrees…whatever it was.”

Xavier Woods – “the thought crossed my mind that it was my Achilles…”

Xavier Woods then described how that was the toughest injury of his career before the Achilles damage sustained a few months ago. “That was like the toughest one that I dealt with until we were in Sydney Australia. First match the night I ended up doing a back flip in the beginning of the match. As soon as I landed I felt like somebody’d kicked me in the back of the foot. I realized I couldn’t push off of that foot. Immediately the thought crossed my mind that it was my Achilles.”

Xavier Woods then talked about how the injury had ‘shaken him’ to his core. “It’s kind of shaken me to my core. When you get injured it’s something that’s like ‘ah this sucks but you know I get like a like a month at home.’ When you’re coming back pretty much with a ruptured Achilles that’s been surgically repaired there’s a lot more gray area. So there’s no real time frame on when when I will come back. It’s almost a kind of scary because yeah there’s a possibility that if I do everything right and everything goes well I could be back in five months. But maybe not, maybe I’ll be back next year but maybe not. Maybe I’ll be back by like WrestleMania next year. But maybe not.”

As soon as we have an update on Woods’ condition we will update you here.

New Day Slams WWE Creative’s Ideas For Their Faction Name

WWE Superstars Kofi Kingston, Big E and Xavier Woods revealed some interesting details about how WWE decided on calling their faction, The New Day.

‘The New Day: Feel The Power’ is now on the second episode. The group ran down the ‘list’ of potential names that they could have been called originally and were given by WWE creative, some of which they found completely ridiculous.

The Tribe!? – The New Day

Some of the names included Healing Through Harmony, The Tribe (which they completely lambasted for racial reasons) and The Commotions.

Kingston stopped whilst going through the list and names and said “it’s one thing to have the thought and to put it on a piece of paper. But to actually like submit it as a possible name…like this is our likelihood man.”

The Modern Marvels

Xavier the chimed in and said that a terrible stable name would’ve likely been the end of his WWE career. “Let us recap, y’all were both set. If [it didn’t work out] you (Big E) would’ve gone to NXT and Kofi would’ve stayed on the main roster, I’d of got fired. I’ve we were called THE MODERN MARVELS, I would’ve been gone.”

Big E also had some comments regarding the list, mentioning his most memorable name. “The one I didn’t need to check an old email to see was…KBX.” Woods then said “Let’s break that down. Kofi starts with a K, Xavier starts with an X and your first name…” Big E then replied “is Big?”

More Bad Name Suggestions for New Day

The guys rattled off a long list of names that WWE pitched them for their group. Some of the “highlights” include:

The guys pitched three of their own ideas: By Any Means Necessary, New Way and New Day, which they ultimately went with.

Submission Sorority & PCB

The New Day also mocked names that WWE creative came up for two women’s factions.

“We wouldn’t have lasted five years with a name like that, I wipe my cheeks with that name” Big E said of the Submission Sorority. “In fact you can actually customize toilet paper…I should customize toilet paper with KBX on each sheet. This harkens back to Paige’s group’s name, the Submission Sorority.”

Xavier Woods then discussed the ‘copyright’ issues surrounding that name, PCB stable, which consisted of Charlotte, Becky Lynch and the since-retired Paige. Woods said, “for one that’s already copyright-ten, and two, that’s not something that WWE can co-sign on.”

Big E then chimed back in, saying “so, we can’t use that name, we have Paige, we have Charlotte, we have Becky…let’s refer to them as PCB! Oooooh we did it!.”

Xavier Woods On Possibly Making Creative Changes To New Day After His Return

Xavier Woods recently spoke to TVInsider in order to promote the New Day’s new podcast, where he talked about things like his gaming YouTube channel, being away from WWE due to his injury and more.

Woods is currently out of action after undergoing a surgery to repair an Achilles tear late last month and he is expected to stay away from the ring for the next 6 months at least.

This time away from WWE has given him the opportunity to look at the New Day from outside and when asked if he will be pushing for some creative changes based on his new perspective of the group, the SmackDown star replied positively:

“A hundred percent, but I can’t tell you, It’s a secret. I got to keep the magic. I’m busy and don’t want to focus on how I will come back because I have tons of time left.

So any ideas now I have for later is going to be drastically different because the environment of the company is going to be different when I come back. I’ll start thinking about things closer to my actual return.”

Xavier has created a brand for himself outside of WWE in his gaming YouTube channel UpUpDownDown and his channel recently hit the 2 million subscribers mark.

Talking about his inspiration to create the channel, the New Day member recalled his conversations with many veterans and admitted that the realization that many of them didn’t set up for the next part of their life was terrifying to him:

“When they explained that part of life to me and how difficult it was to cross over and leave wrestling behind. Many didn’t set up for the next part of life. That’s always been something that has terrified me and been in the back of my mind. “

Apart from this, Xavier Woods also talked about the format of their new podcast, the future of his YouTube channel and more. You can check out his full interview at this link.

Regarding his injury, he said, “There’s no real timetable on when I’ll be back. It could be 5 months. It could be 9 months. There’s a lot of wiggle room in there.”

At the time of his surgery, it was reported that the belief was that he would be out of action for 6 months to 1 year. Best wishes to Woods on his road to returning to action.
