Xavier Woods Confirms Injury Suffered During WWE Live Event

New Day member Xavier Woods has confirmed he suffered an injury during a recent Australian WWE Live Event. Reports came out after Woods crumpled to the mat during a tag team matchup against The Revival. His partner, Big E, would eventually turn the match into a 2-on-1 handicap match.

Taking to Twitter, Woods stated:

“Mans is injured. I’ll keep yall updated but as of right now I’m gonna stream a lot. Gonna hit cons a lot. Gonna post sponsored tweets a lot. Gonna eat pizza a lot. So many things to do! 1st cosplay coming next Saturday, I’m already laughing about it”

Achilles Tendon

Fans in attendance were concerned that Woods had injured his ankle. Reports soon followed, speculating that it was sadly a more serious Achilles Tendon injury. Woods previously uploaded a GIF to Twitter explaining how an Achilles injury can occur. At the time of writing, there is no indication as to how long Woods may be out of action for.

The New Day is scheduled to compete in the nine-team World Cup Turmoil matchup at WWE Crown Jewel at the end of the month. With this injury, the stable will now be represented by Big E and former WWE Champion Kofi Kingston.

WWE Crown Jewel takes place on October 31st from the King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Update On Xavier Woods’ Achilles Injury

Xavier Woods suffered an Achilles injury during a WWE live event from Australia over the weekend. WWE officially addressed the injury, highlighting that the Superstar had been pulled from the rest of the tour.

Woods suffered the injury during a tag team match against The Revival. At one point during the match, the New Day member simply crumpled to the canvas. It didn’t take long for the referee to assess the situation and throw up an ‘X,’ alerting backstage the injury was serious. At the time, fans in attendance shared that it appeared to be an ankle injury. Sadly, it seems to be more serious.

An Achilles injury can take a long time to heal and rehabilitate. Riddick Moss, who suffered a tear earlier this year, was expected to be out for up to 8 months. He was able to return to in-ring action in 5. The average recovery time is approximately 6 months, post-surgery and rehab.

Taking to Twitter, Woods uploaded a GIF of a foot explaining the common causes of injury to the Achilles tendon. It explained that it can occur from “repetitive or sudden increase of stress on the tendon.” He accompanied it with an apology that read, “Sorry #WweSydney”

On Tuesday, he followed up with this tweet:

All of us here at SEScoops wish Xavier Woods a speedy recovery.

Xavier Woods Injured At WWE Live Event

Xavier Woods went down with an injury while working a house show on Monday.

Woods teamed up with Big E at the WWE live event in Sydney, Australia against WWE RAW Tag Team Champions Revival in the opening contest. Woods suffered the injury when he did a leapfrog and went down right away.

Fans in attendance noted that it looked to be an ankle injury. This is when the referee threw up the dreaded x-sign. Once Woods got out of the ring, Big E grabbed the microphone and stated that he would fight them 2-on-1.

The finish saw Wilder roll up Big E, who missed a splash in the corner on an exposed turnbuckle.

Later in the show, Kofi Kingston took on Randy Orton in a singles match. The Revival came to ringside during the match, which led to Big E making the save. Woods didn’t appear for the run-in.

We hope to have a further update shortly and wish Xavier Woods a speedy recovery.

Randy Orton Pondering Future With AEW?

Kofi Kington Names Which NXT Superstars He’d Like To Face, Believes Big E Will Win Singles Gold Again

WWE Champion Kofi Kingston has named which NXT Superstars he would love to wrestle against. He also shared his belief that it’s only a matter of time until New Day stablemate, Big E, holds singles gold once again.

Speaking with WrestlingNews.co, Kingston listed notable NXT talents such as Velveteen Dream, former NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa, and current NXT Champion Adam Cole as Superstars he’d love to compete with.

“I get this question all the time, and it’s impossible to pick just one,” Kingston said. “I mean, Velveteen Dream, Tommaso Ciampa, Adam Cole…there’s so much talent down there. I think it’s a really special time. They’re so good that they are getting to be on national television now on USA…”

Regarding NXT’s move to USA Network, Kingston remarked that the change will only make everyone better:

“It’s gonna make them that much better because they’ve had a lot of time to grind and they are very comfortable being in front of TV,” he explained. “They’ve built their own brand, so I think it’s gonna be great for them. The more exposure the better…”

When it comes to his New Day stablemates, Big E and Xavier Woods, Kingston shared that he believes Big E will “eventually” win singles gold again, adding that “He deserves it.”

“[Big] E and Woods both,” Kingston said. “Honestly, all of us are already in the Hall Of Fame, not to toot my own horn or whatever. The New Day, we’ve already done so many significant things. E and Woods are incredibly talented individuals. I’m so blessed to have been grouped with these guys and to have met these guys … There’s big things always.”

Kofi Kingston will attempt to defend his WWE Championship against “The Viper” Randy Orton at this Sunday’s Clash of Champions pay-per-view.

BOOM! Studios Announces WWE: The New Day Graphic Novel

BOOM! Studios has announced that they will be releasing a new graphic novel charting the career journey of The New Day.

Entitled WWE: The New Day, the story will follow the trio from their initial WWE debut through to their stratospheric rise to popularity amongst the WWE Universe.

Kofi Kingston, Big E, and Xavier Woods were originally featured in a BOOM! Studios WWE story in 2016. This new graphic novel, however, will be a much more detailed accounting of their story.

The news was revealed during Comic-Con International in San Diego after WWE Champion Kofi Kingston made a surprise appearance at the ‘BOOM! Studios: Discover Yours’ panel to announce it.

Editor of BOOM! Studios, Chris Rosa, said the following on the upcoming project:

“There are few modern WWE Superstars with a greater legacy than The New Day—and as they’ve shown this year, there’s no ceiling to what Kofi, Xavier and Big E can accomplish.”

He continued, “WWE: The New Day is the first time fans will get an intimate, behind-the-scenes look at their journey to the top of the proverbial mountain and we can’t wait to share more news with fans soon!”

WWE: The New Day will be able for sale, both in comic book stores and digitally, in 2020.

Big E & Xavier Woods Win SmackDown Tag Team Titles At WWE Extreme Rules

Despite what many fans and oddsmakers were expected, Daniel Bryan and Erick Rowan have dropped the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Titles.

The New Day (Big E & Xavier Woods) beat Bryan and Rowan beat Heavy Machinery to win the titles at Sunday’s (July 14, 2019) WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view event. This show took place in Philadelphia, PA at the Wells Fargo Center.

Bryan and Rowan were victorious over Heavy Machinery in their title defense at the WWE Stomping Grounds pay-per-view event last month.

Originally, it was announced Bryan and Rowan vs. The New Day. However, WWE later booked Heavy Machinery vs. Kevin Owens and Dolph Ziggler on SmackDown Live that saw Otis and Tucker go over. As a result, they were added to this title match at Extreme Rules.

Bryan and Rowan beat The Usos (Jimmy & Jey) to win the titles that were vacant at the time on the May 7th episode of SmackDown Live in Louisville, KY at the KFC Yum Center.

What are your thoughts on New Day winning the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Titles? Was this the right call by WWE officials? Who do you want to see the champions feud with next? Sound off in the comment section.

New Day Members React To Kevin Owens Betrayal

This past Tuesday on SmackDown Live, honorary New Day member, Kevin Owens, would turn on both Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston.

Owens, who has a long history of turning on friends and tag team partners, showed his true colors once again. The attack would begin after the former Universal Champion nailed Kofi Kingston with a superkick. He would then deliver an impactful powerbomb to the apron onto Xavier Woods, who Owens had been performing commentary moments earlier during Kingston’s matchup against Shinsuke Nakamura.

Now the entirety of the New Day, including currently injured member, Big E, have reacted to the situation. Taking to Twitter, each member shared their thoughts and opinions on Kevin Owens and his actions.

“There Will Be Hell To Pay”

Woods would describe Owens as a “complete garbage human”:

His stablemate, Big E, described him as a “parasite,” adding that his “greatest joy” will be coming back to dole out a beating on KO.

“KO is the parasite in the system that desperately clings on to its host for life. Once its sucked all of the nutrients it can out of its host, it seeks another. I only take pleasure in knowing the virus has been detected & @TrueKofi & @XavierWoodsPhD will stomp out the organism.”

“My greatest joy will be returning in time to stomp the life out of the already lifeless roach myself.”

Current WWE Champion, Kofi Kingston, took a more thoughtful approach. He addressed the New Day giving Owens a chance, even when no one else would. He then promises that there will be hell to pay because of his most recent betrayal.

“Sometimes you feel compelled believe in someone and give them a chance, even when no one else will. As unpopular a decision as it may seem at the time, you give them the benefit of the doubt…And Then that person proves everyone right. Mark my words, there will be Hell to pay.”

Kofi Kingston Says New Day Will Never Break Up

With Kofi Kingston having won the WWE championship at WrestleMania 35, some are wondering what the future of New Day is. Will one of his partners turn against him in a quest to win the title for themselves? Will Kofi leave his teammates behind as he looks to headline future PPVs?

Kingston spoke to TMZ Sports recently and stated that New Day will never break up.

Kofi Kingston On New Day Potentially Breaking Up

“The philosophy of New Day has always been to lift your brother up,” Kingston said. “So, that is the goal.”

He continued to say that while sometimes a wrestler in a faction who has individual success leaves the group, he doesn’t see that as the path any member of New Day would take.

“Anyone who has seen New Day on TV, everything that we do is atypical,” he continued. “We come out, we skip, clap, I twerk, I wear unicorn horns, we wear pink and blue, you know what I’m saying?”

To break-up like other factions do, Kingston says, would not be a fitting story for New Day.

“Everything that we do is not your typical story,” he continued. “So for us to break up like that would be like the opposite of New Day and just doing the standard fair. So, from that aspect alone, it just won’t happen. Everything we do, we do together.”

Unfortunately for Kingston’s New Day stablemate, Big E, he’s out for an extended period of time with a torn meniscus.

“New Day is all about the group and that’s the way it’s going to be,” Kingston continued.

Xavier Woods Discusses WWE’s Treatment Of New Day And Kofi Kingston (Video)

Kofi Kingston was recently screwed out of an opportunity to face Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 35. This led the team to briefly discuss the idea of quitting — an idea that Kofi quickly nixed.

Big E, however, chose to vent his frustrations. In a video uploaded to Twitter, he sadly states that “people like us will only get so far. […] You can climb the mountain. They’ll let you climb the mountain, but as far as getting to the peak and staying at the peak – it’s not a thing that people like us, historically and moving forward clearly, can only get so far.”

Now Xavier Woods has provided his thoughts on their current situation.

“Its Definitely Showed Me Which Direction I Need To Go In”

Speaking from the Game Developers Conference (GDC), Woods addresses the unfair actions of Vince McMahon from Tuesday night. He also highlights that, like Big E, he needs to do what’s best for him and his family. He’s just not sure WWE fits into that anymore.

“I’m sure you guys saw what happened this past Tuesday to Kofi. You probably watched the video that [Big] E did and he, kind of, said it best, so I’m just gonna echo those sentiments,” he said.

“We have other things that we enjoy doing. We have other skills. Me? I love video games. I’m a part of this community and I love this community with all of my heart, and this community loves me back. That’s a relationship I’m willing to be in.”

“Constantly being treated in the way that we, New Day, has been treated and will most likely be treated from here on out…I just want to say that I appreciate what you did Vince, thank you very much. Because its definitely showed me which direction I need to go in to take care of myself and to take care of my family.”

With the New Day teasing quitting, and both Xavier Woods and Big E uploading videos to their personal accounts to address the unfair situation, this blending of reality and fiction adds a new dynamic to the story as people continue to clamour for Kofi-Mania on April 7th.

Xavier Woods Says He Learned About Fastlane Match On Twitter

Xavier Woods made an interesting comment about his next match under the WWE banner through the power of social media.

WWE has announced that Big E and Xavier Woods will take on Rusev and Shinsuke Nakamura in a tag team match on the Fastlane Kickoff Show.

It turns out that Woods didn’t find out about the match until he logged on to his official Twitter account instead of WWE officials letting me know. He wrote the following:

Typically, when WWE books a match, they let the talents know about it in order to prepare for it. However, with this being a last-minute addition to the card, that wasn’t the case.

The company has yet to officially announce the main event of this event that takes place at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio that will air on the WWE Network, but it will most likely be The Shield (Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins) vs. Drew McIntyre, Bobby Lashley & Baron Corbin in a Six-Man Tag Team Match.

Originally, fellow New Day member Kofi Kingston was supposed to challenge WWE Champion Daniel Bryan for the strap but that all changed and now Kevin Owens is taking his spot to share the ring with Bryan.

Xavier Woods Once Bet His WWE Career With Vince McMahon

The New Day wasn’t always the fun-loving group they are today. Over time, the New Day members were able to add their own inflection onto their WWE characters, eventually turning into the trio known and loved today, becoming a group that may just be around forever.

That’s not to say, however, that New Day has always been popular amongst the WWE Universe.

New Day member, Xavier Woods, recently sat down with Corridor Cast. They spoke about a time when the group were starting to get booed, receiving ‘New Day Sucks’ chants. Wishing to lean into that momentum, Woods wanted to turn the group heel. Vince McMahon, however, didn’t believe that would work — primarily because of long-time babyface, Kofi Kingston.

Xavier would then make a unique bet with Vince: if he couldn’t get Kofi booed in four weeks, he would relinquish his place within the New Day.

“If I Can’t Make Good On This, Then I Don’t Deserve To Be Here”

“When they let us make the group, we were good guys. For the industry terms, we were babyfaces, and we thought we should be bad guys, heels, and after a while, some things happened and people were chanting, ‘New Day sucks,’ and it’s like, ‘Ok, yes, cool. They’ll let us turn a corner and we can be bad guys now,’ and they thought that since Kofi had been a babyface for so long that they wouldn’t boo him, and so, to me, I was like, ‘No, we’re in control of that. I guarantee you…’”

He continued, “I went to Vince McMahon and I was like, ‘If you give us — if you give me a microphone four weeks in a row, I guarantee you that they’ll boo Kofi Kingston, and he was like, ‘You really believe in this that much?’ I said, ‘Yes, I believe that I can do it’, and he goes, ‘Four weeks? And if you don’t do it in four weeks then what happens?’”

Woods’ response?

“I said if I don’t do it in four weeks, you’ve got 60 dudes in developmental that deserve this spot more than I do. [Vince responded with], ‘I can send you home? Get ready,’ and I said, ‘You should if I can’t do it. If I can’t make good on this, then I don’t deserve to be here,’ and he’s like, ‘Alright.’”

Thankfully, his gamble paid off as The New Day would eventually turn heel before establishing themselves as one of the top babyface groups in the company.

Xavier Woods Talks About Creative Control Of UpUpDownDown

Xavier Woods has utilized a number of WWE talent in the past as he grew his successful YouTube channel, UpUpDownDown.

What began as a passion project for The New Day member has evolved into a show loved by members of the WWE Universe worldwide. That didn’t go unnoticed by WWE.

Speaking with spin.ph (Sports Interactive Network Philippines), Woods divulges just how much influence WWE has with UpUpDownDown, as well as the impact playing video games has helped the locker room morale.

Despite beginning with just Woods wanting to share his love of gaming, he admits that UpUpDownDown is now “within the WWE umbrella,” but insists that “It is its own thing.”

“I would say I have 92% creative control,” he said. “I am lucky enough to now have a team of editors and producers. We’ve gone from me and two other guys to now me and six other people. So, it’s creating jobs within the company. There isn’t much they take out. The biggest thing is just cursing and that’s because people get heated.”

He then reflected on how WWE’s attitude toward gaming has shifted since his YouTube show’s success, calling their mindset a “complete one-eighty.”

“[…] once the YouTube channel was generating money for the company, it became okay. When we set up a Playstation or an Xbox, we call it ‘The Lab,’ because when we’re in there, we’re cooking. At its height, you might see eight Playstations going on at one time in the locker room and it’s a rotating thing. We have the shows to worry about and we need a way to relax. Back in the day, it used to be cards.

“For us, it’s upped morale by a hundred percent! There are guys who might not have been as close to each other and now, they’ve got a tight-knit battle they’ll want to get to when they get to the arena. So it helps in that respect. And honestly, that boosts everyone up so once we’re in the ring, performing, we’re a lot more comfortable with each other. It’s very healthy for the locker room, I think.”

Xavier Woods Believes The New Day Will Stay Together “Forever”

Despite rumors circling them regarding a potential breakup, WWE superstar and New Day member, Xavier Woods, believes that separating the trio wouldn’t benefit anybody.

Suffering an initial rocky start when the group first debuted, the New Day has since transitioned away from the initial gimmick that mired the members, embracing the pancake tossing, bright attire wearing, fun loving attitudes that they have proudly maintained for the past few years.

Speaking with The Post and Courier, Xavier Woods addressed why he believes it benefits the New Day to stay together “forever.”

“[…] it’s the best career move for all three of us [to stay together]. New Day’s staying together forever,” Woods proclaimed. “In the easiest terms, it’s the most fun option for us. Obviously, Kofi was killing it already. E was doing well. I wasn’t really doing much. The group has helped me become more recognized and things like that. But you also think about the things that Kofi and me were doing. [We’ve] gotten way more opportunities as well because of being part of the group.”

Woods reflected that, as a group, they’ve managed to stay relevant and on people’s screens, microphones in hand in order to entertain the WWE Universe, referring to promo time as “possibly the most important thing in the company.”

“[Being in New Day has] helped us with opportunities to have amazing matches with other teams that are just as amazing. So when you get to have a Hell in a Cell match, none of us had ever been in that position before. By having this group effort and being able to attack this as a group, we’ve been able to do a lot more than if we were just doing this alone.”

What do you think? Should New Day stay together forever?

Xavier Woods Says Complaining Wrestling Fans Are “Entitled Infants”

Xavier Woods has no time for fans who complain about wrestling they don’t like. He made his comments during a recent WWE press conference in Manila.

“When people talk about the difference between the organizations – not even organizations – between like NXT and the main roster. So when they say like, ‘Oh man! Takeover killed it. SummerSlam, this is gonna suck!’” Woods said. “It’s on the same company. What is there to complain about?”

“And then like, you can watch New Japan. You can watch Triple A. You can watch so much wrestling from all corners of the world. And it’s all awesome and it’s all good. It’s all different guys and girls portraying their form of art that they love – that they wanna give to you,” he continued.

Woods said that as a performer it can be frustrating to give maximum effort and then receive criticism from a subset of the audience.

“So anytime anyone complains about wrestling it’s so annoying to me because people come off as these entitled infants,” Woods said.

Woods would then say the following:

“Because in reality, wrestling hurts so bad. And then we’re hurting ourselves to entertain the masses. And sometimes the masses wanna tell us how much it sucks,” he concluded.

Xavier Woods Says Customs Agent Refused To Believe He Isn’t Kofi Kingston

Xavier Woods is having an interesting trip to Malaysia. Upon arriving in the country, Woods says he had a rather interesting interaction with a customs agent. Woods described the encounter on his Twitter account:

“Landed in Kuala Lumpur Customs agent: You’re with WWE Me: Yea CA: Kofi Kingston Me: Nah I’m the other black guy CA: hmm, so you’re not Kofi Kingston Me:
No CA: (Takes me to a shady side room) Guys, pretty sure this is Kofi Kingston and he just doesn’t wanna tell me”

It does appear Woods was allowed into the country without incident, however.

Xavier Woods Left Up To His Own Devices

Woods is an adventuristic superstar. On Friday WWE was in Manila in the Philippines. Woods did not take long to become enamored with the country:

“JUST GOT OFF THE PLANE IN MANILA AND I ALREADY HAVE A PET CHICKEN AND A BAG OF SODA – DO NOT LEAVE ME TO MY OWN DEVICES

Xavier Woods On Survivor Series Raw vs Smackdown Scoring

Woods was not happy following Survivor Series recently. While the Smackdown tag-team division defeated the Raw tag-team division on the pre-show, WWE neglected to mention this when touting Raw’s “clean sweep” over Smackdown on the main PPV.

Woods sent out the following in regards to the controversial brand vs brand scoring:

Xavier Woods: “Respect The Tag Team Divisions”

Team Smackdown defeated Team Raw in the tag-team Survivor Series match last night. The match took place on the pre-show, however, and so didn’t count towards the storyline of Raw sweeping Smackdown on the main PPV.

New Day’s Xavier Woods was not happy with the tag-team match not being included in the storyline Raw vs Smackdown score last night. He sent out the following on Twitter after the show ended:

The Usos, who were the sole survivors in the match, re-tweeted Woods’ comments.

WWE Tag Team Divisions

Only Heath Slater and Rhyno didn’t participate in the Survivor Series tag-team match last night. The Revival and the Usos were the two final teams remaining. The Usos are likely in line for a tag team title match after last night. They also defeated former champions the New Day to earn the team captaincy for Smackdown. Smackdown tag-team champions, the Bar, lost to the Raw Champions Authors of Pain on the main PPV.

Shane McMahon commented on Raw’s “clean sweep” over Smackdown last night. He is saying there will be changes to his brand as a result.

“Tomorrow is a new day, but something is going to have to change come Tuesday.”

Sounds as though Shane McMahon will have some comments Tuesday night.

New Day Wants To Face The Elite More Than Any Other Team

Current SmackDown Live Tag Team Champions The New Day are arguably the best trio in professional wrestling today. The squad consisting of Big E, Kofi Kingston, and Xavier Woods have proven dominant over the past several years. The New Day have faced the best tag teams WWE has to offer.

However, there’s one team that sits above all that the three men have yet to share the ring with. That team being New Japan Pro Wrestling and Ring Of Honor’s The Elite (The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega). The two teams had a run-in with one another at E3 earlier this year. Their chemistry as entertainers got fans excited about a possible professional wrestling program.

New Day member Kofi Kingston spoke about this on a recent media call to promote tonight’s episode of SmackDown Live. Here’s what he had to say:

“It would be The Elite. It would be The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega. I think it’s something that from the moment we came out, people were like, ‘Oh, is this going to happen? I mean, The Young Bucks and Kenny, and The New Day, there are three of you’.

“They are so talented, and they’ve been able to do so many cool things all over the world, especially in Japan, which are… the way they’ve been able to do those cool things. I think it’s kind of a fantasy match-up that people have been waiting with bated breath to see.

“But, you never know what’s going to happen in the WWE. Never say never, and I hope that it does happen at some point in time, but I guess we will have to wait and find out.”

What do you think about a potential New Day vs. Elite match?

Tag Team Triple Threat Match Set For SmackDown, Injured NXT Star Undergoes Another Procedure

– This past Tuesday on SmackDown LIVE, The Bar beat Gallows, Anderson and The Colons in a Triple Threat Match to move one step closer to a SmackDown Tag Team Championship Match against The New Day at the WWE Hell in a Cell pay-per-view event on September 16.

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lj3QWDBDrT8&w=560&h=315]

WWE.com has announced that Sheamus and Cesaro’s opponents will be determined in a Triple Threat Match on next week’s episode of SmackDown LIVE. The teams that will be facing off are The Usos, SAnitY and the tandem of Rusev and Aiden English.

– Tino Sabbatelli, who is currently sidelined after tearing his pectoral muscle during a match in April, revealed on his Instagram Story earlier this week that he underwent another procedure.

Tino Sabbatelli

There’s no word on how long the NXT star will be out of action, but this type of injury generally requires a six to nine month recuperation period following the initial surgery.

On another note, Sabbatelli turned 35 years old on August 24.

Xavier Woods Says The New Day Will Never Turn On Each Other

Xavier Woods thinks The New Day will never turn on each other.

Recently, the trio captured the SmackDown Live Tag Team Championships again. They finally toppled The Bludgeon Brothers after feuding with them for quite some time. The New Day have now won five Tag Team Titles in WWE between the RAW and SmackDown brands.

For several years now the team of Woods, Big E and Kofi Kingston have been going strong in WWE. Usually a faction will split up after a good run of several years – if not shorter. Woods recently addressed this in an interview with GiveMeSport.

Woods said that he has no intentions of coming to work and not working with his friends. While he knows some fans might think he’s saying this because it’s going to happen – Woods shut that down as well.

He seemingly went out of character, saying he’s speaking as Austin Watson now (his real name). He proclaimed that what he’s saying is the truth, and The New Day are not breaking up:

“I don’t remember a group in wrestling that hasn’t turned on itself, or they’ll turn, then come back and be a group again. New Day – I’m telling you this right now – New Day will never turn. Ever. And that’s because we have zero desire to ever do that. I have zero desire to go to work and not work with my friends.”

“People say on Twitter, ‘New Day is doing this, Big E is going to turn, this is happening. Oh, Woods is the snarky one, he’s going to turn. Oh, Kofi’s been up at the top of the mountain before, he’s gonna turn!. It’s like, why? We are having the most fun we’ve ever had in our careers.

“It’s not like someone’s like, ‘Oh, I need to sabotage my friends to be champ.’ What is it to be champ when you’re a champ by yourself? You’re standing up there alone on this cold mountainous castle? That’s not fun. I’d rather be up there with my friends.

“Especially, if Kofi wins the Heavyweight Title, I’m also the Heavyweight Champion because we have ‘The New Day Rule’ and we share it. Just basic mathematics, we have a better chance of becoming Heavyweight Champion if we stay a group and we just share it.”

“So, there’s your answer, internet. We will all retire before we turn. That’s a legitimate answer, this is not some, ‘Oh! He’s saying this because it’s happening!’ No, my government name is Austin Watson. Austin Watson is telling you that is the truth. Thank you.”

Discussion: What do you make of Woods’ comments? Do you think The New Day will split soon? Sound off in the comments section!

New Day Member Wins Guinness World Record

With more than 1.6 million subscribers worldwide, Xavier Woods (real name: Austin Watson) has been presented with a certificate recognising his popular YouTube channel, UpUpDownDown, as the most subscribed to celebrity video games channel on YouTube by Guinness World Records.

He received the honour at the Insomnia Gaming Festival in Birmingham, United Kingdom.

Woods started his YouTube endeavour in 2015, attempting to use the platform as a way to cross boundaries and connect with his fanbase.

Originally showcasing himself playing video games with different superstars, it allowed fans to see superstars out of character, and enjoy a peek behind the curtain of their lives.

UpUpDownDown has since expanded, allowing other superstars an opportunity to engage with their love of video games, providing a now established platform to share their passion, such as AJ Styles’ new series, Retro Styles.

Kofi Kingston Reveals Big Show Originally Told Him New Day Would Hold Him Back

When The New Day first formed back in 2014, the group wasn’t exactly met with open arms from the WWE faithful. Largely billed as a heel faction, The New Day struggled to gain a foothold with audiences but the talent possessed by the three members — ‘Big’ E, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods — was undeniable.

While ‘Big’ E had tasted some success as a singles wrestler while previously holding the Intercontinental title, Kingston was by far the most established superstar of the group after a long run as one of the WWE’s top performers.

It turns out when The New Day first came together, The Big Show actually pulled Kingston aside and told him that he’d be better off without ‘Big’ E and Woods because he deserved to be competing for world titles, not mired in a three-man faction.

“So ‘Big Show’ when we were trying to get off the ground, ‘Big Show’ would pull Kofi to the side — like legit pull him [nearby] so we’re within earshot — and say ‘what are you doing with those two? They’re bringing you down. You should be in the world title picture’,” ‘Big’ E revealed when speaking to “Open Late” with Peter Rosenberg. “And this is [not] at a time when it’s ‘oh ‘Big Show’ it’s all fun and games’.

“We’re struggling to get on TV, me and [Xavier] Woods, thinking we’re about to get fired.”

Woods added that Big Show never tried to hide his contempt for the New Day when having conversations with Kingston backstage.

“He was legit concerned for me” ~ Kofi Kingston on The Big Show’s advice

“I had been on the road three months doing nothing,” Woods said. “So I had just come up from developmental like ‘oh everything is so shiny and new, I’m so happy to be here guys’ and then he’s just taking a dump on me like to my face.”

Kingston says Big Show wasn’t trying to be ill willed towards ‘Big’ E or Woods but rather was showing concern about his own individual future in WWE.

“I don’t think he cared that they were there at all,” Kingston said. “He was legit concerned for me.”

Obviously, The New Day stuck around past a rocky beginning and they are now one of the most marketable teams in all of WWE following multiple reigns as tag team champions. The New Day sell a ton of merchandise and are a massive hit amongst the WWE fanbase.

As it turns out, Woods says out of everyone who has ever talked bad about The New Day, Big Show was on the one superstar who came back around and apologized for what he had said previously.

“To his credit, for all the people who didn’t say things to our face, said things behind our back, he’s the one person who came up to us and said ‘I was completely wrong, you guys are awesome and you’re killing it and I’m glad that you didn’t listen to me’,” Woods stated. “He’s the only one.”

Xavier Woods Documents Terrible Flight Experience On Twitter

Xavier Woods had a terrible experience on an airplane recently.

The New Day member was recently traveling and was stuck on an airplane for several hours. Woods and his fellow passengers were left stuck on the plane without air conditioning and were apparently all sweating.

Their initial pilots for the flights didn’t make it in time and a whole new crew had to be brought in. Those who were hungry were given the option to get off the plane and get something to eat in the airport. However, they’d have to take the risk of the plane leaving with zero warning.

Woods then said the plane began to smell because of the heat and everyone sweating. When the pilot finally arrived the entire plane began to cheer. To add more bad luck, it was only the co-pilot and he couldn’t fly the plane alone. They again had to wait for the captain.

When the captain finally arrived, the plane was understandably in a bad mood. To make matters worse, the captain warned the flight would be a very turbulent one due to weather. Finally the plane took off several hours later and the occupants finally received air conditioning.

The entire documentation from Woods was extremely entertaining and comedic. You can read the full line of Tweets here below:

Ronda Rousey Warns Alexa Bliss, Woods Invites Breeze To Join New Day

Ronda Rousey Warns Alexa Bliss

Former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey has a warning for RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss. “The Rowdy One” picked up her first win in RAW history against Alicia Fox last night.

It was a good tune-up match before Rousey challenges Bliss for the RAW Women’s Title at SummerSlam later this month. The pay-per-view (PPV) goes down from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on August 19th.

Shortly after her victory over Fox, Rousey took to Instagram and issued a stern warning to her SummerSlam opponent, Bliss. Here’s what she had to say:

“Wrong move @alexa_bliss_wwe_ trying to throw @thefoxxyone in my way to weaken me before #SummerSlam.

“You should dread every second of experience I get in that ring.
Consider what you saw last night merciful compared to what’s coming to you August 19th”

Xavier Woods Invites Tyler Breeze To Join The New Day

Last night was pretty embarrassing for Tyler Breeze. One-half of Breezango, Fandango, has been sidelined for the next several months with an injury. This leaves Breeze to fend for himself on RAW as a singles talent.

During last night’s episode of RAW, Breeze had a segment with Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns backstage. Breeze was denied a fist bump by the former Shield members:

SmackDown Live star and New Day member Xavier Woods offered a response on Twitter. He noted that Breeze could come over to SmackDown Live and join The New Day until Fandango is ready to return:

New Day & Becky Lynch Riding Go Carts in Tokyo As Mario Cart Characters (Video)

Xavier Woods’ UpUpDownDown

After his recent E3 showdown with Kenny Omega, Woods posted the following thank you to fans of his YouTube show.

“I started my YouTube channel ‘UpUpDownDown’ in order to have a creative outlet that was my own where I had the ability to create something that was mine. For the past three years all of you have watched the videos, laughed with me, cried with me, made fun of me, and most importantly just had a good time with me.

Every day my amazing team works hard to bring you the most ridiculous and fun content that we possibly can. Yesterday we did something that no one thought we could ever do. We pulled off the “impossible” and I couldn’t be more proud of everyone involved. Yes, the rivalry between Kenny and myself was our story. But the larger picture was to shine a spotlight on the fighting game community. This group of guys and girls live this life all year long. They are an amazing group of people and we wanted to show the world what they are missing if they aren’t keeping an eye on them.

Yesterday was an example of how entertaining esports can be so find your local tournaments scene and support them. Thank you to everyone who has come along on this wild ride!”
