All Elite Wrestling will be heading down under next year with a stadium show in Brisbane, Australia, it has been confirmed. During the AEW All In: London 2024 Zero Hour pre-show, it was announced that Grand Slam: Australia will take place in Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium on February 15.
News of this massive event comes a week and a half after it was reported that AEW was planning a stadium show in Australia. Other venues that had reportedly been discussed include Sydney’s Allianz Stadium and Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium.
Suncorp Stadium first opened its doors in 1914 and boasts a max capacity of 52,500 seats. Nicknamed ‘The Cauldron,’ Suncorp Stadium has already hosted several sporting events and is home to the Brisbane Broncos, the Dolphins, the Queensland Reds and the Queensland Maroons.
AEW’s Stadium Events
This will be AEW’s latest stadium-sized event and will come after two AEW All In pay-per-views in London’s Wembley Stadium. All In 2025 will take place in Arlington, Texas, marking the first stadium show for Tony Khan’s promotion in the United States.
Pro-Wrestling & Australia
Australia has been home to several large-scale events, including 2018’s WWE Super ShowDown. The event saw a (disputed) 70,309 fans fill the Melbourne Cricket Ground to see The Undertaker and Triple H compete in their final one-on-one match. In February of this year, WWE hosted its Elimination Chamber PLE in Perth, Australia. The show was headlined by Australia’s own Rhea Ripley retaining the Women’s World Championship against Nia Jax.
