Watch: Michael Oku Debuts In AEW With Amira Blair

Michael Oku and Amari Blair were on the scene at this week’s AEW Dynamite in Cardiff, Wales, with Oku wrestling in a dark match at the show. Oku faced Serpentico in the match, and Amira accompanied him to the ring. While the match did not air on TV, photos from Oku and Blair’s debut have surfaced on social media.

Oku recently challenged MJF for the AEW American Championship earlier this month at RevPro’s Summer Sizzler 2024 – Road to the Anniversary event in London. MJF retained at the event, which also saw an appearance by Will Ospreay. MJF and Ospreay will collide for the AEW American Championship this week at AEW All In: London 2024.

Michael Oku & Amira Blair

Oku and Miller didn’t appear on TV at this week’s Dynamite in Cardiff (the first TV taping outside North America) but that could easily change. Talent within RevPro shared their hope to Fightful earlier this month that Oku will be signed after his match with MJF. Oku is the current Undisputed British Heavyweight Champion, after defeating Great-O-Khan last month. The report adds that Blair could also be signed alongside Oku.

After Summer Sizzler, Oku told Stephanie Chase that there had been discussions between both he and Amira and AEW, and he has also teased appearing at All In: London. Stay tuned to SE Scoops for the latest on these two wrestlers and their quest to be ‘All-Elite.’

Joe Hendry to Challenge NXT Champion Ethan Page at No Mercy

Joe Hendry is heading to NXT No Mercy to face WWE NXT Champion Ethan Page after winning a high-stakes triple threat match this week. Hendry emerged victorious over Pete Dunne and Wes Lee to earn the title match at the upcoming NXT PLE.

At ringside, Ethan Page went to great lengths to avoid facing Joe Hendry, including pulling the referee out of the ring when Hendry appeared to have the match won. Later, after Hendry slammed Wes Lee onto the announce table and delivered another Standing Ovation to Pete Dunne, Page actively prevented a second referee from entering the ring.

The match’s finish saw Dunne Hendry with a Bitter End, but Trick Williams ran into the ring and hit a Trick Shot knee on Dunne. Hendry would follow up by getting the pinfall and the title match with Page.

This upcoming match will mark the first time a male TNA-contracted competitor will challenge for a WWE Championship in the main event of a WWE Premium Live Event. Earlier this year, Jordynne Grace (already the TNA Knockouts World Champion) challenged NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez at NXT Battleground.

WWE NXT No Mercy

NXT No Mercy will take place on September 1, 2024, from the Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado, the day after WWE Bash In Berlin. The show will be the second NXT No Mercy event and the 15th No Mercy show in WWE history. The card as it stands is as follows:

  • Ethan Page (c) vs. Joe Hendry (NXT Championship)
  • Roxanne Perez (c) vs. Jaida Parker (NXT Women’s Championship)

  • Oba Femi (c) vs. Tony D’Angelo (NXT North American Championship)
  • Chase University (Andre Chase and Ridge Holland) (c) vs. Nathan Frazer and Axiom (NXT Tag Team Championship)

Randy Orton Wants Final Match with John Cena “Maybe at WrestleMania”

Randy Orton would love to step in the ring with John Cena one final time before the 16-time WWE World Champion hangs up his jorts for good. Speaking to the Daily Mail, Orton addressed whether he will be part of Cena’s retirement tour.

“I have spoken with him…  I would love to wrestle John. But as far as pushing for that match, that’s never been my style.”

Pushing for the match isn’t Orton’s ‘style’ but will come down to Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque and his creative team. Fortunately for Orton, having the Game in charge bodes well.

“He [Triple H] is listening to the crowd. He knows where everything needs to end up… And if the fans want John Cena and Randy Orton to face each other at some point, maybe even at Wrestlemania, then this is their last chance.”

Orton encouraged fans who want the match to happen to let their voices be heard on social media and at WWE events. Orton ended by reiterating that if fans really want one final showdown between himself and Cena, then he is confident it’ll happen.

John Cena Vs. Randy Orton

John Cena Vs. Randy Orton was a feud that defined an era in WWE, with both men often competing in pay-per-view main events with World Championships on the line. The pair’s first encounter would come in developmental in July 2001, a year before either man would be on the main roster. That OVW show saw Cena (then Prototype) and Rico Constantino defeat Orton & Bobby Eaton, though Orton got the win in their first singles match the next month.

Cena and Orton last shared the ring in singles action on the July 2, 2017 edition of SmackDown in a match that Cena would win. With Hell in a Cell, Iron Man, and Street Fights in their past, fans are eager to see what the pair would do in their final encounter.

Get In Line

Orton is itching for a chance to face John Cena on his retirement tour, but he is by no means the only ghost from Big Match John’s past CM Punk hopes to team with John before the latter calls it a career while The Miz is hoping to get one last match with Cena after previously headlining WrestleMania 27 in 2011. RVD, who faced Cena at ECW One Night Stand 2006, is also ready for a rematch with the WWE icon.

There’s no shortage of talent who are ready to face Cena for the first time. Matt Cardona has thrown his name in the hat after previously sharing the screen with John in 2012. WWE Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker is ready to defend his title against Cena next year. The title in question is one of the few accolades John has not obtained in WWE and the only title Cena needs to complete the Grand Slam.

Stay tuned to SE Scoops for all the latest on John Cena and his final year in the ring.

Watch: What Happened With Randy Orton And Gunther After Abrupt End To (8/19) RAW

Randy Orton delivered an RKO to the World Heavyweight Champion Gunther after this week’s episode of Raw from Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, Florida went off air.

The Viper faced Ludwig Kaiser in the main event of the Red Branded Show. The Ring General was not present at the ringside but he later made his way through the crowd to distract Orton. This allowed Kaiser to gain the upper hand momentarily.

Randy, however, showed why he is a 14-time world champion. In the end he dropped Ludwig Kaiser on the announce table multiple times and won the match after hitting an RKO for the pin.

Gunther entered the ring after the bout to try and take out Orton but the Legend Killer didn’t let him dominate for too long. The feed cut off right as Randy poked the World Champion in the eye.

A fan made video from the arena shows that Randy Orton successfully delivered an RKO to Gunther after the show went off air. WWE has also posted a video of Orton posing with the world title dropped by Gunther at the end of the segment, before returning the belt to its owner:

WWE Bash In Berlin

Randy Orton will get a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship at the Bash In Berlin special from Uber Arena on Saturday, August 31.

Though this won’t be the only interesting match for the show. Last week’s episode of Raw saw CM Punk brutally assaulting Drew McIntyre when he tried to confront Gunther.

Uncle Howdy To Make In-Ring Debut On 8/26 WWE RAW

Uncle Howdy, the macabre side of Bo Dallas, will make his in-ring debut during next week’s episode of WWE Monday Night RAW. Howdy will face American Made’s Chad Gable on the show in what’ll be the latest chapter of their feud. Gable was attacked by the Wyatt Sicks upon the faction’s debut in June with some fans claiming the Olympian had been ‘killed’ due to the bloody wound on his head.

This will mark the first WWE match for Howdy, and Bo Dallas’ first WWE match since a WWE live event in November 2019. In the faction’s in-ring debut, Joe Gacy, Dexter Lumis, and Erick Rowan, defeated Gable and the Creed Brothers earlier this month.,

Next Week’s WWE RAW

The in-ring debut of Uncle Howdy will be just one highlight of the go home edition of WWE RAW before Bash in Berlin on August 31. On the show, Bronson Reed’s path of destruction will see him collide with Braun Strowman. A tournament to decide the next challenger for Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker will also get underway. Breakker won the gold from Sami Zayn at WWE SummerSlam, marking his first title on the main roster.

After months of cryptic messages, fans are eager to see how Uncle Howdy fares in the ring Stay tuned to SE Scoops for all the latest in the build towards next week’s crucial match.

Punk vs. McIntyre Strap Match Set For WWE Bash in Berlin

WWE Bash in Berlin will feature the next chapter in the Drew McIntyre and CM Punk blood feud. Punk and McIntyre have been butting heads ever since the Scottish Warrior injured the Second City Saint at the WWE Royal Rumble at the beginning of the year. McIntyre later told Punk that he prayed for him to get injured, then slid into his spot against Seth Rollins at WrestleMania XL, where he captured the world heavyweight championship.

However, that world title reign was short-lived after Punk attacked McIntyre, leading to Damian Priest cashing-in his Money In The Bank and stealing the title after a five-minute reign. After months of attacks and receipts, McIntyre and Punk finally met at WWE SummerSlam in Cleveland. On that night, McIntyre defeated Punk thanks to some faulty refereeing by Seth Rollins.

Now Punk has a chance at revenge. On the August 19th WWE Raw, saw Punk challenge: McIntyre to a strap match at Bash in Berlin. McIntyre immediately accepted and the match was confirmed.

Updated lineup for Bash in Berlin

CM Punk

Here’s the updated match card for WWE Bash in Berlin, scheduled for Saturday, August 31st from the Uber Arena in Berlin, Germany:

  • Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Kevin Owens for the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship
  • GUNTHER (c) vs. Randy Orton for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship
  • CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre in a strap match
  • Rhea Ripley & Damian Priest vs. Dominik Mysterio & Liv Morgan

Pat McAfee Stepping Away From WWE RAW For ESPN College GameDay

Pat McAfee will be stepping away from the WWE RAW commentary table after tonight to rejoin the ESPN College GameDay for the upcoming season that’ll start this week. McAfee shared on social media that the August 19, RAW will be his last “for a bit.”

Tonight will be my last trip to that wonderful WWE family for a while, I’m bummed out. Football season is starting which is awesome but the WWE family is where I’m supposed to be, I know that and I hope they do too.”

McAfee’s departure will come as a blow to his fans as his enthusiasm at WWE events has proven to be infectious. With that said, McAfee did drum up controversy with comments about WWE NXT after Pat and his show’s co-hosts were DLC in WWE 2K24.

WWE Monday Night RAW – August 19

While this will be Pat’s final episode of WWE RAW for some time, he will be getting an epic show to say goodbye on. Zack Sabre Jr. Wins 2024 G1 Climax, Makes Early Challenge For IWGP Title

Zack Sabre Jr. has continued to etch his name in the history books by winning the 2024 G1 Climax. Sabre Jr. defeated Yota Tsuji in a thrilling finale which saw Sabre get the submission victory after countering Tsuji’s attempted Gene Blaster.

With this victory, Zack Sabre Jr. has earned the right to challenge for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship, currently held by Tetsuya Naito. Traditionally, the G1 Climax winner challenges the champion at Wrestle Kingdom in January, but the British wrestler doesn’t plan on waiting that long. Speaking after his win, Sabre said he plans on challenging for the gold at King of Pro Wrestling on October 14 in Ryogoku Sumo Hall.

Sabre also mentioned his love for Ryogoku Sumo Hall as a reason for wanting his title match earlier than planned. Sabre also intends to defend the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at NJPW Royal Quest 4 on October 20 in his native England.

Sabre is one of two non-Japanese wrestlers to win the G1 Climax, the other being Kenny Omega who won the tournament in 2016. Despite his success in Japan, Sabre is yet to capture the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. Naito is in his record-tying second reign after regaining the title at AEWxNJPW: Forbidden Door.

Sabre’s victory in the tournament was hard-fought, but now the British wrestler has another huge match ahead of him. Stay tuned to SE Scoops for the latest on Zack Sabre Jr. and his pursuit of the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship.

Watch: What Happened With Roman Reigns After (8/16) SmackDown Went Off Air

This week’s episode of SmackDown came live from Kia Center in Orlando, Florida and featured the Original Tribal Chief Roman Reigns in the main event.

The main event of the Blue Branded Show saw Solo Sikoa calling out the Head of The Table and Reigns came out to confront his former enforcer.

Roman got the upper hand early on and he even retrieved the Ula Fala from Sikoa. A returning Jacob Fatu however, turned things around.

The Bloodline then assaulted Roman Reigns and delivered a triple powerbomb to him on the announce desk. The show went off air with the faction standing tall.

WWE released a video on their YouTube channel in which Roman can be seen leaving the ring after the beatdown once the broadcast had ended:

The second match saw Gunther defending his World Heavyweight Championship against Jey Uso. The match ended in a DQ when Ludwig Kaiser interfered and Damian Priest came out to make the save.

The two teams then had a fun tag team match with a lot of crowd interaction. Priest paid tribute to The Undertaker during the bout by performing the Old School maneuver.

Damian won the match for his team after pinning Kaiser with a South of Heaven. Priest and Uso cut a promo after the bout ended to finally send the crowd home.

AEW All In: Texas 2025 Set for Globe Life Field in Arlington

AEW All In 2025 will take place from the Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas on July 12, 2025, it has been confirmed this week. The event will mark AEW’s first All In event in the United States. All In 2023 took place in London, England’s Wembley Stadium and the show will return to the UK capital later this month.

In addition to AEW All In: Texas, a series of events in Arlington are being planned leading up to the event. Fans eager to secure tickets for the event can sign up to the Globe Life Field newsletter to be the first to know about the event. News of this show comes mere days after it was reported that Arlington was a favorite to host a stadium event.

This event will be AEW’s first stadium-sized show in North America for Tony Khan’s promotion. Recently, AEW has been hosting episodes of Collision at Arlington’s E-Sports Arena as part of a lucrative deal between the promotion and the city. This deal also included the hosting of ROH Death Before Dishonor 2024 in Arlington.

Globe Life Field is the home of the Texas Rangers and at maximum capacity, can seat 40,300 fans. Construction on the venue began in 2017 and its first events would take place in 2020 during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Another Stadium Event?

The Sporting News reported earlier this week that AEW is planning on hosting a stadium event in Australia in 2025 and that plans are already in motion. Venues reportedly being considered for the show include Sydney’s Allianz Stadium, Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium, and Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium.

Coffin Match Added to AEW All In (Updated Card)

The August 14th episode of AEW Dynamite featured Darby Allin cutting a promo on the TNT Champion Jack Perry, who he will be facing for the title at the All In event at Wembley Stadium on August 25th. Allin then entered the arena for a matchup but was jumped by Perry, who viciously beat Allin into the backstage area and crushed him with a heavy metal door. Perry then aimed to smash Allin’s skull with a giant rolling crate, but security stopped him before he could cause any serious damage to his fellow AEW pillar.

Things didn’t end there. Perry then screamed into the camera, declaring that he wanted his matchup with Allin to be a Coffin Match. Moments later, Excalibur and Taz revealed on commentary that AEW President Tony Khan had approved the idea, making the match official.

Allin is no stranger to Coffin Matches. In fact, he and Sting competed in a tag team Coffin Match against Christian Cage and Swerve Strickland one year ago at the 2023 AEW All In pay-per-view event, a match the former tag champions ended up winning. At the same event, Perry lost the FTW Championship to HOOK, then got into a real-life scuffle with CM Punk backstage.

Perry and Allin have been butting heads for months. The two crossed paths many times since AEW launched, most recently at AEW Blood & Guts, which is when the TNT title match was made official for All In.

Updated Lineup for All In 2024

Here’s the updated card for next weekend’s AEW All In: London pay-per-view from London’s historic Wembley Stadium:

  • Title vs. Career: AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland vs. Bryan Danielson
  • Mariah May vs. Toni Storm (c) for the AEW Women’s Championship
  • CEO vs. DMD: Dr. Britt Baker challenges Mercedes Moné for the AEW TBS Championship
  • Coffin Match: Darby Allin vs. Jack Perry (c) for the AEW TNT Championship
  • The Patriarchy vs. House of Black or The Bang Bang Gang for the AEW Trios Championship
  • Casino Gauntlet Match: Winner receives a future AEW World title shot

The AEW All In 2024 Buy-In kickoff show will also feature a mixed tag match:

  • Stokley Hathaway & Kris Statlander vs. Willow Nightingale & Tomohiro Ishii

All Elite Wrestling could be heading down under next year with a stadium show in Australia, it has been claimed this week. The Sporting News reports that AEW is planning on hosting a stadium event in Australia in 2025 and that plans are already in motion.

Venues reportedly being considered for the show include Sydney’s Allianz Stadium (max capacity of 42,500), Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium (56,347), and Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium (52,500). Entertainment company TEG is believed to be supporting the event. AEW talent from Australia include Buddy Matthews, Mark Davis, and Kyle Fletcher.

AEW and Stadiums

AEW will host its second stadium show, All In: London 2024, later this month from England’s Wembley Stadium. Last year’s event will also soon receive a showcase, thanks to the upcoming AEW Stories episode that will give a behind-the-scenes look at All In 2023.

AEW has yet to host a stadium-sized event in the U.S. though fans are hoping that changes. When asked about such an event during the ROH Death Before Dishonor media scrum, Tony Khan said not to underestimate the promotion and that it could happen in the future.

Pro-Wrestling & Australia

The event saw a (disputed) 70,309 fans fill the Melbourne Cricket Ground to see The Undertaker and Triple H compete in their final one-on-one match. In February of this year, WWE hosted its Elimination Chamber PLE in Perth, Australia. The show was headlined by Australia’s own Rhea Ripley retaining the Women’s World Championship against Nia Jax.

Australia is also home to its own promotions, including Riot City Wrestling. Popular wrestler DELTA recently wrapped up her time with the promotion amid reports that she has signed with WWE. DELTA recently shared a photo of her suitcase from Adelaide airport and a message of goodbye, as she prepares to embark on the next chapter of her career in the United States of America.

Jacob Fatu Returning to WWE TV Soon After Injury Scare at SummerSlam

The Bloodline will be back in full force very soon after a recent injury scare threatened the group’s solidarity at a critical time. Jacob Fatu recently burst onto the scene as the newest member of The Bloodline.

The former MLW World Champion immediately aligned with Solo Sikoa, adding another highly combustible element to the group. Fatu wasted no time, winning the World Tag Team Championships with Tama Tonga and playing a significant role in Sikoa’s WWE Championship match against Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam.

Jacob Fatu’s WWE Return

Unfortunately, Fatu’s high-risk offense backfired at SummerSlam when he dove off the top rope onto Cody Rhodes, who was sprawled on the announcer’s table at ringside. Fatu connected, but it was immediately apparent that something went wrong. He was writhing in pain, assisted backstage by WWE officials, and later spotted wearing a protective boot on his foot in the hours following the event.

According to PWInsider, Jacob Fatu is scheduled to return to WWE television by the end of this month. This is excellent news because a more serious diagnosis could have necessitated surgery, derailed storylines, and jeopardized his future mobility. Fatu and Tonga won’t have to surrender the tag titles, and The Bloodline will have ‘all hands on deck’ as they deal with Roman Reigns, the recently returned Original Tribal Chief (OTC).

Mark Henry Returns On WWE Raw With Son Jacob Henry

WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry made his return to programming on this week’s RAW alongside his Next-In-Line athlete son Jacob. The father/son duo were highlighted in the crowd during this week’s show that took place in Austin, Texas.

As mentioned by Pat McAfee and Michael Cole, Jacob Henry recently signed with the NIL program. The younger Henry will be paid by WWE while he continues his studies and will compete at a heavyweight for the University of Oklahoma wrestling team. Jacob also intends to try out for the University’s football team, a highly successful team that includes ex-wrestler Dr. Death Steve Williams among its alum.

For Mark Henry, this week’s Raw marked his return to WWE programming after a three-year absence. Henry’s previous appearance on RAW was as part of the Legends Night special of the red brand in January 2021. In May of that year, he debuted for All Elite Wrestling where he served as a commentator and coach. His time with Tony Khan’s first promotion ended in May of this year.

Jacob Henry in WWE

Expectations are high for Jacob Henry and his potential future in WWE could see more appearances by his legendary father. As for Mark, he recently shared that he has become a booker and ‘director’ for the All Caribbean Wrestling promotion. The promotion is set to work with Major League Wrestling soon, Henry told TMZ Sports last month.

Stay tuned to SEScoops for all the latest on Mark and Jacob Henry and their potential futures with WWE.

Sami Zayn offered some big praise to Bron Breakker after this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw from Moody Center in Austin, Texas went off air.

The wrestling veteran evoked his rematch clause for the Intercontinental Championship on the Red Branded Show this week after his SummerSlam loss earlier this month.

The two out of three falls match was the main event of the show. Sami got the early pin on Breakker at the start of the bout but the IC Champion came back and scored a pin to even the numbers.

The ending of the match saw Sami hitting the Helluva Kick but Bron kicked out. Zayn then went on the top but Breakker caught him mid-air with a spear out of nowhere to score the final pin and retain the title.

Sami Zayn stayed in the ring after the episode went off air and received an ovation from the crowd. The 40-year-old cut a promo saying that Bron has the potential to become the face of the company:

What Happened on Raw

The star-studded episode of Raw featured some interesting developments. Rhea Ripley opened the show and Dominik Mysterio explained that he turned on The Mami because she was trying to change her.

The show also featured a confrontation between Randy Orton and Gunther. Drew McIntyre who was not happy about Orton getting a title shot tried to interrupt the two but CM Punk blindsided him before he could reach the ring.

Orton took the opportunity and delivered an RKO to the World Heavyweight Champion. Meanwhile CM Punk continued beating McIntyre and he took out the Scottish Warrior with a belt to end the segment.

Pro Wrestling Legend Kevin Sullivan Passes Away At 74

The wrestling world lost a master storyteller and booker in Kevin Sullivan, who sadly passed away at 74.

Florida wrestling personality Barry Rose confirmed the news, “With the heaviest of hearts, we are devastated to have to report the passing of the legendary Kevin Sullivan. May he RIP and his family, friends and fans find comfort in how much he was loved.”

The legend’s heath took a turn for the worse as he developed sepsis and encephalitis while hospitialized. Ric Flair took to social media last night sending out prayers and well wishes to his long-time colleague.

Sullivan transcended pro wrestling by shocking the Championship Wrestling from Florida territory by leaning into the “Satanic Panic” of the 1980s. He’d notoriously go to the grocery store in Kayfabe attire to make residents feel uncomfortable. Sullivan would also go on to form the cult-like varsity club that featured Mike Rotunda and Rick Steiner.

“The Taskmaster” remained an active wrestler in the heyday of WCW and was vital in the formation and development of the NWO. While never apart of the faction, Sullivan notoriously quarantined Hulk Hogan until it was time for him to turn heel at Bash At The Beach 1996. Kevin Nash also greatly credits Sullivan for his ability to book and helped to make NWO one of the hottest acts in pro wrestling history.

Before his health took an unfortunate decline following a car accident earlier this year, Sullivan was an active podcast voice on “The Taskmaster Talks” with Jon Pozarowski and “Tuesdays With The Taskmaster” on AdFreeShows.com. He also appeared as a priest in recent vignettes shot by Karrion Kross.

Fans and wrestlers alike came to the aid of Sullivan after he remained hospitalized as they raised over $20,000 to help pay for his expenses.

We at SEScoops would like to send our prayers, thoughts and condolences to Sullivan, his family, friends and fans at this time.

More has come to light about Seth Rollins and Dakota Kai after both Superstars were ambushed on the August 5, episode of RAW. On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer claimed that he was told that these attacks were storyline covers for real injuries both Superstars are dealing with. Rollins’ situation is said to be “not bad” and he is still cleared to wrestle but he is “banged up.”

Rollins was attacked by Bronson Reed during RAW in arguably the biggest showcase for the Australian since arriving on the main roster. The former WWE World Champion was leveled with six Tsunami finishers and was seen bleeding from the mouth after the attack. Rollins was out of action with an injured knee earlier this year and did not compete at SummerSlam 2024, instead serving as a guest referee.

Like Rollins, Dakota Kai fell victim to an ambush on RAW, this time at the hands of Shayna Baszler, Zoey Stark, and Sonya Deville. The Kiwi Superstar was supposed to face Sonya Deville on the show but was replaced by ally IYO SKY.

Kai has a history of injuries, including an ACL tear in May 2023 that kept her out of action until March of this year. Her most recent TV match was on the July 8, RAW while her most recent match in WWE was part of the promotion’s recent tour of Japan. Stay tuned to SE Scoops for the latest on these two Superstars and other ongoing injuries in the world of professional wrestling.

The following week, NXT on The CW goes head-to-head with AEW Dynamite, which is running a rare ‘Title Tuesday’ show due to a pre-emotion. WWE plans to keep the momentum going from the premiere on CW, because the October 8 episode of NXT on The CW will hail from St. Louis, with hometown superstar Randy Orton set to appear.

Last year, WWE and The CW Network announced a 5-year partnership that will bring NXT to broadcast television 52 weeks per year through late 2029.

Here’s the official press release sent in to SEScoops:

In November 2023, WWE and The CW Network announced a five-year agreement that will see NXT make its broadcast television debut for the first time in its 13-year history. NXT will air 52 live weekly events throughout the season.

Launched by WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque, NXT has aired weekly since 2012 and features the brightest young talent in sports entertainment. Nearly 90 percent of the participants in last year’s WrestleMania were developed under the NXT banner. Led by WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels, NXT is popular with younger audiences. Year to date, NXT’s average viewership is up 20 percent among adults 18-49. WWE Superstars, such as Roman Reigns, Seth “Freakin” Rollins and Charlotte Flair have come up through NXT.

NXT joins a growing roster of live sports on The CW Network, including ACC football and basketball games, Pac-12 football and LIV Golf. The CW is also home to the Emmy®-award winning weekly studio series “Inside the NFL” and the NASCAR Xfinity Series beginning in Fall 2024. The network will soon offer more than 500 hours of sports programming year-round.

Bryan Danielson On Shane McMahon: ‘I’m Open To Working with Anyone in AEW’

Bryan Danielson would be fine working with Shane McMahon should the ‘Prodigal Son‘ of WWE soon find a home in All Elite Wrestling. Speaking with the Gorilla Position podcast, Danielson addressed those rumors about McMahon.

“I’m open to working with anybody. I don’t have beef with anybody. 100%.”

The American Dragon added that Tony Khan told him of the meeting with McMahon though by the time he did, Danielson, like everyone else in wrestling, was well aware.

“Tony mentioned to me after the photo came out, ‘I didn’t want to tell you this before, but I met with Shane McMahon.’ I didn’t say this, but I was like, ‘Yeah, I know. The picture is everywhere.'”

McMahon and Danielson have a history in WWE and were allies on-screen from 2016 to 2018. After a series of injuries forced Danielson to retire from in-ring competition, he was appointed SmackDown’s GM in 2016 by McMahon, who served as the brand’s commissioner. Danielson left the role as General Manager upon being cleared to wrestle again in 2018 and teamed with Shane to defeat Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn at WrestleMania 34.

Shane McMahon in AEW

McMahon met with Tony Khan last month and it’s been reported that the pair discussed “possibilities moving forward.” In a statement shared with Busted Open Radio, McMahon said he and Khan discussed a shared love of the business and the rewards and challenges of working with family.

The meeting of the WWE staple and AEW President has left many speculating on whether a McMahon family member could soon be All Elite. This meeting comes after it was claimed by Conrad Thompson earlier this year that McMahon had spoken to some in AEW about the possibility of joining Tony Khan’s first promotion. It was later clarified that Shane was not making a formal pitch to join AEW and was simply stating that it would be an interesting moment in wrestling.

Tony Khan has said he has a lot of respect for Shane and appreciates his work as both an in-ring performer and an executive. McMahon hasn’t been seen on WWE TV since WrestleMania 39 where he made a surprise appearance for an impromptu match against The Miz. While McMahon has reportedly made efforts to return to WWE since then, these are said to have been rebuffed by higher-ups. Shane was fired the previous year for reportedly causing backstage chaos at the 2022 Royal Rumble and it’s said there’s still a lot of negativity within WWE against 54-year-old.

AJ Styles Reportedly Set To Return to WWE TV on 8/9 SmackDown

AJ Styles will make his return to WWE programming for the first time in close to two months this Friday, it has been reported. PW Insider has learned that the two-time WWE World Champion is scheduled for this week’s taping in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Styles hasn’t competed on WWE programming since the 6/15 Clash At The Castle PLE in Glasgow, Scotland, where he lost to Cody Rhodes. Despite his absence from TV, Styles hasn’t kept on the sidelines. In July, he competed at the NOAH Destination event against Naomichi Marufuji as part of WWE’s crossover with the Japanese promotion. Styles also competed on WWE’s recent tour of Japan, the company’s first since 2019.

WWE SmackDown – August 9

Styles’ reported return will be just one highlight of this Friday’s episode of SmackDown that will deal with the fallout of an explosive SummerSlam in Cleveland. The show will also see the return of Roman Reigns who emerged during the SummerSlam main event between Cody Rhodes and Solo Sikoa.

New WWE Women’s Champion Nia Jax is being promoted for SmackDown in Tulsa, as is former champion Bayley. Jax captured the title at SummerSlam in her first title victory since returning to WWE last year. Other names promoted for this Friday’s show include Jade Cargill, and Bianca Belair, new United States Champion LA Knight, and Randy Orton.

Watch: What Happened With The Wyatt Sicks After (8/5) Raw Went Off Air

The Wyatt Sicks shared an emotional moment together after their first win on this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw from CFG Bank Arena in Baltimore, Maryland.

The group has been terrorizing the roster since their official debut on the June 17 episode of the Red Branded Show a couple months ago.

They finally made their in-ring debut tonight with Erick Rowan as Rambling Rabbit, Dexter Lumis as Mercy the Buzzard and Joe Gacy as Huskus the Pig facing the trio of Chad Gable & The Creed Brothers in the main event.

As expected, the Wyatts picked up the victory in the bout. Gacy and Lumis first took out the Creed brothers after sending them crashing through the announce desk. The trio then attacked Gable together and Lumis pinned the former Olympian after a splash from the top rope.

The show ended with Bo Dallas’ Uncle Howdy and Nikki Cross’ Abby the Witch joining the rest of the group in the ring to pose. They stayed in the ring even after the show went off air and as seen in the video below, the group shared an emotional moment together, remembering the late Bray Wyatt:

What Happened On Raw

Tonight’s episode of the Monday Night show felt very much like a Raw After Mania. It had a number of big moments that got people talking.

The opening segment featured the new World Heavyweight Champion Gunther celebrating his big win at SummerSlam. He was interrupted by Randy Orton however and a match between the two was then made official for the upcoming Bash In Berlin special on August 31.

We also saw Finn Balor debuting the new Judgment Day after betraying Damian Priest at the PLE this past Saturday. You can check out all the developments related to that here.
